I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. They came back and re-sided the chimney, but didn't bother to follow the maunfacturers instructions. I emailed them three times asking them if they were going to address this, and they haven't even taken the time to reply. As the President of our Board of Directors, I'm tasked with doing my best to protect everyone's investment. One way I'll do that is by never hiring these guys again.

A year later when selling our house they found unrealized damage from that fire. The presure from the fire hoses soaked the plywood and created mold in the attic. The roof was replaced with new plywood in 2019. The insurance would not pay for machines to dry the attic out. They did however pay for new insulation, for Attic and crawl space. And it was amazing to see the difference between what an honest company like Restorion sends the insurance company vs a dishonest company, which is what I had to deal with a few years prior. Also very helpful to have the water mitigation people also be the restorer, otherwise so many derails can be lost between the two companies. The restorer won't know what the basement looked like beforehand and that can lead to gaps. Also for dishonest companies I think they use the two separate companies to juice their returns and to do less restoring work.
