Three years ago we used Simple Floors to put a reclaimed Acacia hardwood on our main level. We loved the floors so much we sought them out again to put a synthetic wood product in our bathroom suite and wardrobe room. The floors turned out nicer even than the main floor product. I will put pictures in once we complete our remodel. We are already thinking of our third project. Our house is 113 years old in the Greenlake area, just over from the Univ of Washington. . It requires some thinking and design ingenuity in how to install. The workers are no nonsense, and work very hard to get their project done quickly. I'm really glad we found them. We are enjoying our house even more now. I recommend them to everyone. I was pleased to avoid the big name boxy renovation stores which we have used at other houses. It's great to use this store. A few weeks ago we had new wood floors installed in an older house that has a lot of "character". We had a lot of questions and required quite a bit of hand holding. We had an excellent experience with Simplefloors! Charlie was very helpful and patient. We just bought a home and wanted to change the flooring to engineered hardwood. We met with Charlie several times and spoke to him about the other things we were doing on our house (like opening up our stair banister) and the order in which we needed to do things. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. We took a few samples home and ended up flip-flopping on the type of flooring we wanted. Charlie was very helpful in giving us the pros and cons of each type. (We were worried about dog nails) It ended up being several months before we were ready to have the new floors put in and Charlie was never once pushy. There was plenty of colors and types of flooring to choose from and Charlie helped us pick the perfect one. We ended up putting flooring on the stairs as well and it looks awesome. The installers were very friendly and fast and efficient. I think we originally planned on putting the hardwoods on our landing when we first spoke to Charlie but we decided to keep the area carpeted. With everything else going on with the remodel of the house we forgot to relay that to Charlie. The installers started to prep that area for hardwood and we told them we hadn't planned on doing it. Since we had a lot of extra material from that area, we asked if it was possible to return it. Charlie was awesome, it was totally OUR fault that we had the extra material but he made the effort to allow us to return it with a restocking fee, which was understandable. Their sales services are good. However, before you place the order with them, make sure you have measured the exact footage for the area. Do not buy more than your need. Their return policy is: "We accept returns within 30 days of the date of original sale. There is a 5 carton minimum on returns and there is a 25% re-stock fee. We do our best to make sure you do not order too much material to avoid returns". That is to say, you cannot return them any surplus of material if they are less than 5 cartons. We were (and continue to be) thrilled with the flooring we purchased from Simple Floors. Charlie was very knowledgable and informative and helped us to make a good decision about which style and color of bamboo to buy. I can't remember if we made an appointment, but he was there and ready for us when we arrived and had so many samples to look at, it was like 31 Flavors. :-) He allowed us to bring home samples of our five or six finalists so we could see how it would look in the area. The delivery service they offered was surprisingly inexpensive, easy to work with and EXACTLY on time. The floors look beautiful and the price was right. We chose Simple Floors to install engineered hardwood floors in a condo we recently purchased - the price for the floor was great, the installation quote was straight forward and very detailed allowing us to determine what services we did or did not need (and how much each item was), and the total price came in lower than other bids we considered. We enjoyed working with John Tangarone - he was always very polite, patient, and professional. I would highly recommend Simple Floors to anyone! The installers were very good and finished the job in the promised timeframe. There were no surprise charges or hidden fees. The only negative is that the installers did not always appear to be customer-friendly - for example, we had a much better experience with measuring with another company but the upfront pricing and great communication from John made up for this deficiency. read more

We had a horrific experience with Simple Flooring. We were having our hardwood floors redone in Swedish finish following some water damage. Simple flooring sent out what they called the "best in the business" to complete the work. When we met, we clearly outlined our expectations, and they had no problems with them. When it came time to do the job we had a fight with them about everything, including removing the baseboard trim, the stove and refrigerator. When we threatened them with stopping work, they finally moved our refrigerator to the front porch, and didn't even bother to plug it in until we insisted. They also installed the new wood without a vapor barrier. These frustrations led us to want to observe the work more closely, fortunately we have interior and exterior HD security cameras. According to our surveillance it was clear they did not put three coats of finish, only 2, this turned into another argument, because they claimed they had done a 3rd. Finally, they agreed to put the third coat. Unfortunately, it was evident on film that the material they used was NOT what they claimed it was. There was virtually no odor afterwards either. Within ONE day the floors were severely scratched up and peeling, it reminded me of dry Elmer's Glue! Furthermore, there was extensive damage to our cabinetry and our stove was severely chipped too. We were forced to hire another company to repair the floors. It took them an entire week to get the product Simple Flooring used back off the floors, a process that typically takes a few hours. My family had to spend an extra 2 weeks in a hotel, this has been a major disruption in our lives. It took 20 years off the life of our floor and fixing the rest of the damage will most likely take months. I would NEVER trust them again, especially since Dave, one of the owners, stood behind his shifty contractors as firmly as he did. Other than some of the pieces werent correctly fitting with the previous line and hence some places there is more gap than others. Overall, great deal for the wood. I called in and spoke to them about it and they say that usually with hard wood its a common problem and I should push in some wood putty. read more

We just put down laminate in 3 rooms in our home and had a challenged situation with the product. 1/2 of the boxes contained flooring that was scratched by the manufacturer. However, SimpleFloors handled our situation very well - they picked up the damaged product and at the same time delivered new flooring! And before delivering, they open each box to be sure the flooring was perfect. Their customer service is excellent and are true advocates of their customers with their manufacturers. We purchased 2500 sqft of Carbonized Bamboo from Simple Floors and Charlie was fantastic! He was extremely helpful in helping us pick a flooring that will stand up to our teenage boys and dog and I couldn't be happier with the choice. Well, let me start out saying, I took my business elsewhere. Here's why. The salesman was condescending and arrogant. I came in to get a general idea of pricing to get wood floors installed in my living room, dining room, and hallway and to have carpet installed in the bedrooms. The salesman reluctantly showed me a few things and laughed at me when I asked questions making me feel like I was an idiot for asking. Getting straight answers from this guy was like pulling taffy. Way too much work! I couldn't believe it. I honestly thought I was on an episode of candid camera or that I was being punked. I'm not exaggerating! It was THAT bad! I couldn't believe how rude he was. He seemed really reluctant to give me general pricing, and, in fact, when I pressed him about padding for the carpet, he laughed and said, oh yeah, I guess you'll need that too. That'll be around $50. Seriously? I walked out and took my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. read more

When on a recent trip to Hawaii a water leak occurred in our condo which ruined 400 sq. ft. of our 2-yr. old beautiful bamboo flooring. We were devastated, to say the least, and called Charlie at Simple Floors. He scoured around and was able to find enough of the same kind of flooring in a warehouse in California. His talented and hard-working Russian crew did a great job of fitting in the new flooring with the old and the final result was as good as the original. My wife and I were most pleased and grateful. Don't let any other "reviews" fool you. please personal message me and I will send you pictures and emails of how this company treats their customers and produces the worst install of floors I have ever seen. I even wish we never got new floors. Lets also talk about how they ruined a stainless steel refrig, put their rubbage against art and the siding of our house creating more and more and more damage, and to be the icing on a laundry list of complaints a rooms worth of floor boards are "popping up." What a joke and disappointment. I implore you to email me and I will send you full details, emails, photos of how they will ruin your home. So here's the scoop. I own a small bungalow in Seattle and found Simple Floors on the web and really liked some of the types of flooring they offer. So I print out some pictures of various hardwoods that I want to see in person. I visited their store in Tukwila and the first thing that I notice is that the sale prices listed on their website is not reflected in the in-store pricing. We I inquired about this discrepancy they had no meaningful response. Then after a few minutes, I'm approached by a guy who I assume is the manager. He seems irritated and somewhat miffed for some reason. He yells in my face and says to me "you're with Lumber Liquidators!" I said, "I'm not sure what your talking about, I'm looking to re-floor my house". He said, " No you're not, you're shopping me!" He then escorted me to the door and threw me out. I then told him that I would be contacting their corporate office to let them know about the manner in which he is treating customers. He then shows me a business card with his name on it and tells me not to bother since he's the owner. He then slams the door shut in my face. I've never been treated so badly as I have in Simple Floors. And for the record, let me state that I have never worked in the flooring industry much less work for one of their competitors. My only crime was wanting to buy some hardwood flooring for my house. I plan on sending a copy of this review to the owner of Simple Floors in Chicago. simpleFLOORS exceeded all of our expectations. We recently moved into a 1.5 year old home that was partial hardwood and partial carpet. We wanted to remove the carpet and match our existing hardwood. Charlie and Patrick were very helpful in locating exactly what we had on the floors already and provided a perfect match - without me needing to ever drive to the store - we did it all via internet and phone calls, partial thanks to good record keeping on their part since they originally provided the flooring to the contractor that built our house. They were able to provide competitive pricing, and even though the flooring was special order, installed it within a few weeks. Stephan, the installer is a true craftsmen and hard worker. He came prior to the install to measure and explain exactly what they would do. On the day of the install they arrived promptly and worked diligently all day long. They were neat and considerate of our home. There was very little clean up and there was NO touch up panting needed when they were done - amazing. They put the hardwood on our stairs and it looks wonderful and custom, as well as brought it directly under our baseboards, eliminating the need for quarter round or caulking - evidencing exceptional craftsmanship. They even repaired some squeaky floor boards in our existing flooring without me asking. The finished product is gorgeous and we are so happy with it. We can highly recommend simpleFLOORS.
