Phenomenal service and quality. Less than a week passed between asking for a quote and having beautifully refinished hardwood floors. We took up our carpet and found our floors were painted over. Mac and his team came in and refinished and they look amazing. They took great care of our place, putting cardboard down and working quickly and quietly. Mac was very responsive and the price was reasonable. Would recommend to anyone. read more

I couldn't be happier with the work Mac and the team at Super Hardwood Floor did on our home. They handled a massive, full-house project: installing brand-new hardwood in the kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms, plus refinishing existing hardwood in our dining room and hallways, as well as the engineered hardwood downstairs. What impressed us most was how seamlessly they laced the new and existing floors together--you genuinely cannot tell where the old ends and the new begins. They also installed new baseboards and removed a small half wall for us. They took care of every single detail from start to finish. They were accommodating to us being picky/indecisive about the color we wanted. I could tell they took great pride in the finished product. My only regret is not taking more before and after pictures. Highly recommend! read more

Our oak hardwood floor in kitchen, dining and hallway was getting to show its age and we needed someone to come tell us what are our options are. Tung contacted me and from the initial call he was clear on setting what we should expect, when they will be there for the estimate as well as follow ups. He was clear on the work, gave us the options and was very flexible especially as we could not leave the house during the work. The crew spent time on prep and making sure the full area was covered against dust and every day told us what was done, when they will come the next day and what will be done so we can organize our schedule. The work was completed one day early, looks very professional and we love the look of our floors. I highly recommend this business if you have flooring needs! read more

Talk about an unbelievable company! I used them to complete the floowing: 1.) concrete floor leveling 2.) installation of an engineered hardwood floor 3.) installation and refinishing of a refurbished floor Its very hard to put into words how good Mac, Henry and the entire time are. They not only exceeded expectations - they shattered them. They put in the time necessary, answered every question with patience and wisdom, and completed the work with the skill and precision seldom seen today. Add to that fair pricing, easy scheduling and you'd be crazy to go anywhere else... read more

Mac and team did a fantastic job repairing and refinishing all of the wooden floors in our 1931 built house and I'd highly recommend. Fair priced and very response with a team that did very high quality work. Our house is mostly wood flooring with some great wood that just hadn't been well maintained. Mac and team made it look so much nicer and exactly how we wanted it stain wise and look wise. I don't have great before/after photos but I have some after photos attached. read more

Wow. Mac and his team are an outlier. In an amazing way. This is a 6 star company. We needed new floors but didn't know where to begin. After a ton of research , we ended up ordering our own product and needed someone to install it. We came across Mac and Super Hardwood Floor and it was one of the best investments we made for our home. The floors look incredible. The price was fair. The job was done with customer obsession and the quality and care of the team was clear. Some examples of their quality and commitment: - the team came out multiple times to measure and review the plans with us to make us comfortable and confident - They spent time prepping, making sure the home was clean, and respecting our schedule - Mac was willing to text, call or email at anytime throughout the process. A great communicator - Mac offered to let me borrow his tools and supplies for some extra work on the side - The team ended up doing more work than they quoted out of kindness to deliver a high quality job Mac and his team truly are great people willing to do whatever it takes for a great customer experience and a great product. I can't wait to refer my friends to work with this amazing company. Thanks super hardwood floor for everything! read more

Very pleased with Mac and Super Hardwood Floor for the installation of LVP in my Seattle condo. Mac's communications were consistently clear and timely. Final cost was exactly what was quoted. No surprises; they did exactly what they said they would do, and finished on schedule. I am happy with the final result, including removal and repositioning of the the baseboard trim. read more

First, the good: Overall, the floors look great. And they did a decent job reattaching and re-caulking the baseboards, although they did get a little scuffed and needed touch-up paint, which I believe is typical whenever you remove and reattach baseboards. However, in a few spots there are sanding swirl marks visible in certain light. Also, in some places, there are "ripples" visible across the floor, again in the right light. One day the workers locked the key in the house so I had to drive out to let them in. It was then that I noticed they had jugs of Bona Mega (matte) ready to go on the floor, when the contract called for (the more expensive) Bona Traffic HD (satin). I called Mac and he said the first coat would be Bona Mega and the next two coats would be Bona Traffic HD. A few minutes later he called back and said the workers had Traffic HD in the van and would use it for all three coats. The workers put two small dents in my stair handrail. The painted stair risers also got a lot of stain on them. I realize stain bleeds under masking tape and it's impossible to get it perfect with just masking tape, but with some care the result could have been much better. They did not even mask the center of the risers, just the edges, so predictably some drops of stain got on the center of the risers, which was entirely preventable. read more

Had Mac's crew come by this week to refinish our circa 1954 hardwood floors. We are prepping the house to sell next week. Mac and his crew refinished 440 s.f of my hardwood floors that included the kitchen, dining room and guest bathroom. The floors had been untouched for 25 years and looked awful with wear spots, dents and scratches. Plus, there were small gaps between the new kitchen cabinets and the end of the original floor. The crew trimmed the gaps with quarter round which looks great! There were a few issues once the floor dried, but the crew came back out immediately and took care of them. 10/10. I'm obsessed with Mac and his crew. We moved from San Francisco and bought a house we knew going in we wanted to rip out carpet and install hardwood. Being new to Seattle we initially went with a different contractor and had such a bad experience we stopped the job halfway. That's when we found Mac. The difference was incredible. The customer service and attention to detail was drastic. Don't overthink it - the reviews are true, Mac is great, and if you can coordinate timing, I wouldn't go with anyone else to do your floors in the Seattle area. He has customers for life in us. read more

Mac and his crew are magic! The before and after pictures are crazy. Knowledge - Mac knew what type of hardwood floors we had in each room. Fast - we needed someone to come help us right away and their team was able to do it quickly! Beautiful - they really brought back to life the original floor color. Affordable - we got a couple other quotes and Mac's team beat them all. Extra work - they even helped us install trim by our front door. And are willing to work on stairs too. Hire Mac and his team. Mac & crew were great! As others mentioned, they were the best quote we got in addition to being the most detail oriented. We purchased an old home that had a lot of worn hardwood, and they restored it like-new! Mac was very knowledgeable about the wood, gave us great advice, and was very flexible. Lost 1 star for two minors issues: Communication - there was 1 day they showed up later than we'd confirmed which was slightly inconvenient. Clean-up - they left a couple spots we had to clean up for them (on the wall & grass). I would still recommend Mac & crew! Thank you! read more

Super glad I refinished my floors with these guys. On budget and on time. They did a great job and the cost was fair.

From start to finish Mac was professional, communicated well, and discussed my project and his approach well. He updated me during the project, and finished two days early. And, in the end the floors were absolutely gorgeous. We went with a water based Swedish finish with 5 coats. I've never seen fir floors look so beautiful, and they felt so great underfoot. I'm not a floor professional nor am I a carpenter, which is why I hired Mac to refinish my hardwood floors and install new hardwood floors in the kitchen. The latter project, however, unfortunately did not happen due to Mac's extremely poor communication skills. Here's what happened: - Mac came out to give an estimate. I told him we wanted hardwood in the kitchen and for it to be level with the adjacent living room (currently the vinyl flooring is about ¼ inch higher than the wood flooring in the living room). - I told Mac I wanted to refinish the floors to match the existing floor color as closely as possible. We agreed on an amber finish. - Mac sent an extremely vague estimate (see photo) - A reasonable assumption was made that "installing new hardwood in the kitchen" included removing the existing vinyl flooring because I explicitly said I wanted the floors to be flush, so I expected an estimate that would reflect this request. - We agreed to move forward, and he insisted that we move out of our place for the finish to match and be seamless. So, we rented storage pods, hired movers, and rented an AirBnB. The morning the work was supposed to begin, Mac called me to confirm that I wanted to install the hardwood OVER the vinyl in the kitchen. I told him that this is not what we agreed on and that would make the kitchen 1/2 inch higher than the living room, which would be absurd. His crew must have realized how absurd that would be that morning, which is why he called me. Mac proceeded to tell me that I didn't ask him to remove the old floor (I did and I wrote this in the notes I was taking during the estimate), and that I should have known it wasn't included in his vague estimate. He also stated that removing the vinyl would require asbestos testing which takes several days to get back from the lab, thus prolonging the project. Mac then blamed me for not telling him that that we would also need plywood to make the floors flush. As previously mentioned, I am not a carpenter, so I was relying on a professional to determine the necessary steps required to meet my request of having the floors flush. Furthermore, it turns out he was planning on using a clear finish rather than the amber finish we had agreed on, which we discovered at the very last minute thankfully. Mac refused to take any blame for these miscommunications and did not apologize once for the mishaps. Now on to the work itself. The stairs look like someone dragged a dead body down them. I'm shocked that any legitimate company would consider this to be quality work. I'm starting to think that these other reviews are bots... Again, zero communication about this, and when confronted, his response was that we "should have known" that this could happen because the treads are Fir. Had we known this could be the outcome, we would have opted for a darker stain color, but this was our fault I guess because this is apparently common knowledge that everyone possesses except us. The main floors came out great except for an old water stain that didn't sand out. I would have liked the option to replace those floorboards, but there was no communication about options for that defect either. Unless you are a carpenter or a contractor who has a solid understanding of all things wood and can make informed decisions without the help of a professional, I highly recommend you stay away from this company. read more

There is a reason Mac and his team have such amazing reviews, they were truly a delight to work with and our floors look AMAZING!!!!! We had existing red oak flooring that needed to be matched with our new red oak. The areas they patched in the new flooring with the old are seamless, there were a few tricky spots, and even those look near perfect. The baseboards were removed without any scrapes in our paint, and put back on looking like they had never been removed. After having our entire bottom floor covered in a plume of sawdust the cleanup they did as well was great. Mac personally went above and beyond to help us with the specific stain, and finish as well by coming to our house during rush hour traffic to help us make sure we got everything just right! I would absolutely recommend Mac and his team to anyone in need of new or refinished flooring. :) read more

Mac and his team did a great job refinishing our hardwood floors. We got a number of quotes, and theirs was one of the most reasonable with excellent reviews on Yelp. They repaired some spots where my husband tore up some decorative posts, it looks like they were never even there. We were very happy with the finished product. I loved that they put down sample stain to help us choose the right color. We did a water finish so it was less toxic/smelly than Swedish finish and we're so happy we did because we didn't have to leave the house. We did run air filters and fans - it was a little strong when the first coat went on but after that it wasn't noticeable. My only complaint that was unexpected is our shiny new floors are actually very slippery for our two dogs :) I guess they had scratched up the old floor that much! Would highly recommend! read more

This was such a great experience. I had three different groups come out to the house to give me quotes on my original-to-the-house fir floors that had been painted over by the previous owners. Mac and his assistant were so patient and professional, answering my questions and offering honest opinions without condescension, upselling, or evasion. They were incredibly flexible about organizing the job itself, communicative and reliable. Super trustworthy. Update 8/25/2020 Bumping up half a star. Mac came back out. He fixed 2 of the vents that were stuck so I could put on the dampeners. He also filled in some of the holes with wood putty oil and gave me 2 small jars for other holes to fill as I find them. He said there is nothing he can do about the swirl marks now that the floor is sealed. Same with the wood filler that didn't take any stain. It's not great to hear since the swirl marks are throughout the house. I feel another person would have pushed for some sort of resolution (fix or some partial refund), but we are at a point where we would like to simply enjoy our house and move on. Original Review The review is actually 3.5 stars but there are no halves. Mac is a nice guy and I like to see a family owned business. He sanded and stained 1300 sq ft of floors and changed 12 carpeted steps to wood. He also changed 7 of our vents to flush mount vents and added a transition piece in our laundry room. I didn't realize how much work went into all of this and the crew definitely works hard. Pros Overall, I think the floors look way better than before. Mac also removed baseboard trim under our kitchen cabinets and added 2 small oak boards under my dishwasher that were missing after I asked if he could. They covered everything and I can tell they were trying to be careful, for the most part. Little things happen, but with how much work was going on I would think it's impossible for everything to be perfect. Cons There wasn't a lot of communication when Mac and his crew were coming or going. I learned I needed to be proactive on asking about schedule. Some areas could use touch up on the stain since it never took. Some holes could have been filled where Mac said if he filled them now would just go back to infilled. I think the bigger thing that bothered me is a lot of the swirl marks that are pretty visible standing height. They end up looking like scratches in the floor which isn't great since they were just redone. Mac said it's expected to have swirl marks. I really don't buy this to be honest. Nothing can be perfect but for the price I paid, I feel like I would probably just have put all new floors if that was really the case. Mac said he would come out to fix some of the unstained areas. I haven't heard from him yet so I'll check in. I told him I can show him the swirl marks in person and see what he can do. read more
