After months of shopping around, we decided to have David's team install LVP, carpet and handle all our millwork and casings which included complicated compound angles on our staircase. Their workmanship and attention to detail was very professional and more than met our picky expectations. The old-school honesty and integrity of everyone on David's team was truly refreshing. Eric managed our project and kept it on-time and on-budget. His attention to communication was impressive & timely even at 10pm at night and on weekends. We requested a few change orders along the way and they were charged at straight time and materials without the extra mark-ups most contractors tack on. Being 20+ years old, it needed lots of help. Given our current covid realities, finding a reliable and available contractor to take on my project was going to be tough. So I decided to start with the flooring and then go from there. I contacted Flooring n More through Yelp and they responded quickly. After some initial discussions, I advised Damir there were a few more renovation items on my list besides the floors and asked if he was interested in taking a look. After reviewing the list and doing an on-site visit, he agreed to take on my entire project. This included all new floors, some new Kitchen cabinets and modifications, new quartz counters, 2 bathroom renovations, fireplace refinishing and top to bottom painting. In the last 30 years, I have done more renovations than I care to admit. I have to say, this one was by far the smoothest, hassle free and "honest" project I've done. Damir put together a team that showed up every day and they put in full days. If some issue or delay arose, there was always a plan B to work on something else to keep things moving. They were accommodating with several changes and additions I asked for along the way. Sometimes these projects can leave a person feeling vulnerable or frustrated. At that time, the wonderful sales person I worked with on my first order was no longer employed and they have this guy Marlon running the show now. I was candid with Marlon about why I had to redo my floors and needed a new estimate. Marlon was initially very pushy about getting directly involved with my claim even tho I told him I already had a contractor to do the work and I simply just needed the materials. After 20 minutes of saying no to his suggestion he finally gave me the estimate. He quoted me $4.19 claiming inflation impacting the price. Okay fine -- I go get the amount approved through insurance. Insurance approvals take a while so I didn't end up going back to actually purchase the floor until today, July 2025. NOW he's trying to tell me the price for the floor is $5.39. As if the cost of flooring skyrocketed up $2.39 per sqft in a matter of 8 months?! He told me to go back to my insurance adjuster and ask for more money and then it was clear to me this man was trying to take advantage of my claim by gouging the price of the floor. He knew my insurance was a grade for grade replacement and tried to leverage that to inflate what he wanted to charge me. Pure greed. Because how else does a floor go from $3 to $5.39 in 8 months?? Especially when I checked nearby competitors and no one else had raised their prices recently. I did love that floor but the pushy & predatory business practices were simply unacceptable (especially as a return customer) and I ended up taking my business elsewhere -- as should you.

I wanted to replace old carpet and pad in a converted garage space (now a family room) along with leveling out a slight slope in one of the corners. After talking with the guy at the front office space (sorry, I forget his name), I was able to get some good information about the products they carried and a rough understanding of what the process would be. A day or two later, Erik meets me at my house with a few sample boards and to take a look at the space (approximately 360 sq ft). I showed him a mockup I created for color reference and we went through the samples, comparing color, softness, thickness, pile and quality. None of the boards he brought matched all that I wanted (either right pile and softness but wrong color or visa-versa) so we scheduled a time to meet in the storefront. When I arrived, Erik and I pulled out several sample boards with potential candidates based on the discussion we had earlier and he patiently waited and answered questions as I narrowed down my options until I finally landed on carpet that met my requirements. He was able to give me a pretty close cost estimate right then, so I knew it was within budget and the official estimate came just a few hours later. I scheduled the install, which would take two days since I wanted to level is concrete slab also and time was needed to cure the self-leveler compound. On the day of the install Erik and his install team, headed up by José, arrived and quickly got to work. A fairly deep crack in the slab was discovered, causing us to need more leveler than expected (although Erik brought some extra bags just in case). José came back in the evening on the same day to see how the leveler did and after seeing that there was still a depression where the crack was, he went to work adding a thicker, quick drying compound to level it all out. The next day, the installers, with José, came in, validated the floor was level and the compound was cured and proceeded to install the pad and carpet quickly and cleanly. All the while, Erik was in constant communication with me either on the phone, via text message or in person. When any concerns or questions arrived, they were resolved or answered quickly. I am impressed by the quality of customer server and the finished results and would recommend Hardwood Plus for carpet installs.

He promptly provided a quote, and kept in touch via text message (a huge perk for phone call-averse people like me). When we visited the showroom to pick out the carpet and sheet vinyl pattern, it came as a relief that Erik was not interested in upselling - he'd present options, explain the pros and cons of each, and trusted us to make our own decisions. The first issue occurred on the installation day, when Erik messaged me to say the carpet had not arrived yet. He was apologetic and explained what had happened, but we would still have to wait another week for it to arrive. The second issue occurred after his team removed my old carpet: they found the tiles underneath contained asbestos and needed to be sealed, for an additional cost. This added another day to the sheet vinyl install, but this was a possibility he had mentioned early on. He was easy to reach and very direct, which gave me confidence to move forward. Overall, the work was good. The flooring price was fair, but the painting cost felt high. The biggest issue was communication once the project started. I made the prepayment, met to sign the contract, and did my part. But after that, getting a response became extremely difficult. Communication with the point of contact (I won't name) was almost non-existent, which was unacceptable. The workers did their job, but since they do not speak English, any questions or clarifications had to go through the point of contact. This made resolving even small issues frustrating. On top of that, I asked for a little leftover baseboard paint for touch ups. I was told I would get it after the project was done, but it has now been four months and I still have not received anything. Cleanup was also lacking. Like other contractors I have used in the past, they left dust and debris behind, and I had to do a lot of follow up cleaning after they left each day. Prestige Flooring will get the job done, and Vlad himself was responsive at the beginning, which stood out compared to other contractors. But be prepared for poor communication during the project and less than ideal cleanup afterward. Professional service includes timely communication, not making the customer feel like they need to nag or beg for a response. That was the most disappointing part of the experience.
