From the start, when I walked into their storefront for the first time to get some information, to the finished install, Hardware Plus was great. I wanted to replace old carpet and pad in a converted garage space (now a family room) along with leveling out a slight slope in one of the corners. After talking with the guy at the front office space (sorry, I forget his name), I was able to get some good information about the products they carried and a rough understanding of what the process would be. A day or two later, Erik meets me at my house with a few sample boards and to take a look at the space (approximately 360 sq ft). I showed him a mockup I created for color reference and we went through the samples, comparing color, softness, thickness, pile and quality. None of the boards he brought matched all that I wanted (either right pile and softness but wrong color or visa-versa) so we scheduled a time to meet in the storefront. When I arrived, Erik and I pulled out several sample boards with potential candidates based on the discussion we had earlier and he patiently waited and answered questions as I narrowed down my options until I finally landed on carpet that met my requirements. He was able to give me a pretty close cost estimate right then, so I knew it was within budget and the official estimate came just a few hours later. I scheduled the install, which would take two days since I wanted to level is concrete slab also and time was needed to cure the self-leveler compound. On the day of the install Erik and his install team, headed up by José, arrived and quickly got to work. A fairly deep crack in the slab was discovered, causing us to need more leveler than expected (although Erik brought some extra bags just in case). José came back in the evening on the same day to see how the leveler did and after seeing that there was still a depression where the crack was, he went to work adding a thicker, quick drying compound to level it all out. The next day, the installers, with José, came in, validated the floor was level and the compound was cured and proceeded to install the pad and carpet quickly and cleanly. All the while, Erik was in constant communication with me either on the phone, via text message or in person. When any concerns or questions arrived, they were resolved or answered quickly. I am impressed by the quality of customer server and the finished results and would recommend Hardwood Plus for carpet installs. read more

Erik provided a professional experience from start to finish, and despite a few unforeseen issues, his team left me with a replacement floor that turned out exactly as I'd envisioned. When I sought estimates for this carpet replacement project on Yelp, Hardwood Plus was the first and fastest reply. Erik showed up on time and quickly gathered the information he needed while explaining some of the things that could go wrong, like leveling issues or finding something unexpected beneath the old carpet. He promptly provided a quote, and kept in touch via text message (a huge perk for phone call-averse people like me). When we visited the showroom to pick out the carpet and sheet vinyl pattern, it came as a relief that Erik was not interested in upselling - he'd present options, explain the pros and cons of each, and trusted us to make our own decisions. The first issue occurred on the installation day, when Erik messaged me to say the carpet had not arrived yet. He was apologetic and explained what had happened, but we would still have to wait another week for it to arrive. The second issue occurred after his team removed my old carpet: they found the tiles underneath contained asbestos and needed to be sealed, for an additional cost. This added another day to the sheet vinyl install, but this was a possibility he had mentioned early on. The team also accidentally broke my dryer vent, but Erik agreed to fix it with absolutely no fuss. Finally, there were a few little bubbles in the sheet vinyl I had to push out. But now that it's all done, I am absolutely over the moon with how great my new floor looks, and how delightfully plush the new carpet on the stairs and guest room is! Hardwood Plus is communicative, professional, friendly, honest, diligent, and timely. They do great work, take responsibility, and ensure your satisfaction. I can't recommend them enough. read more

We had a great experience working with Erik and his team. Erik managed our floor installation project from start to finish, from helping us choose high-quality flooring to the final baseboard painting. He spent his time helping us find the right hardwood color, brought multiple full-size samples to our house so we could compare everything in our own space, and offered very competitive pricing. His team is also incredibly skilled, they handled some challenging parts of our project, including matching the height of the new hardwood with the existing bathroom tile, and the final result looks seamless. Finally, the baseboard painting was absolutely flawless as well. We're extremely happy with how everything turned out and would absolutely hire Erik and his team again! read more

We had an exceptional experience with Hardwood Plus and the owner, Erik. He went above and beyond--coming to our home on a weekend to personally show us flooring samples and help us choose the best option for our space. Our lower level had become unlivable due to cat urine in the carpet, but within just 5 days, Erik and his team completely transformed our home. They ripped out the old carpet, fixed our creaking stairs, leveled the subfloor, and installed beautiful, high-quality LVP. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. Erik was professional, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. We couldn't recommend Hardwood Plus more highly--if you want honest communication, top-quality work, and a smooth experience from start to finish, this is the team to call! read more

After 13 years with builder's carpet in our home, we finally decided it was time to replace it. I turned to Yelp and Google, hoping to find a reputable company that could do a great job at a reasonable price, while still sticking to our budget. That's when I found this amazing company! From start to finish, they made the process so easy. The communication was excellent, and I truly appreciated how personable everyone was--from the salesman to the owner to the installers. It really made a difference, and it's why I love supporting small businesses over big box stores. The salesman came to our house with carpet samples, and we picked out a soft, grayish color with a higher profile for that plush feel. It was the perfect choice, especially with kids and dogs running around. When the carpet arrived at their showroom, four installers showed up the next day. They worked hard for about 12 hours to make sure everything was done in one day, which was such a relief! I would highly recommend Hardwood Plus to my friends and family without a second thought. If you're thinking of replacing your carpet, trust me--hire the pros! They did an incredible job! read more

Anton was very efficient. He showed up, did a quick walkthrough, and sent me a quote the same day. He clearly explained the options and potential gotchas, including leveling and what it would cost. He had a crew at my place the next day to remove the carpet, and they knocked it out quickly. I have vinyl flooring in the rest of the house and wanted a similar color, so he sent his PM with samples to look at. Unfortunately they were backordered, but he let me know as soon as he found out and gave me alternatives, clearly laying out the pros and cons of each. Once the material came in, his crew did a great job with the install. Really appreciated the communication, professionalism, and quality of the work. read more

Erik and his team are rockstars. He responded to an urgent situation (while buying a house) and provided timely and accurate information that helped us approach the purchase with eyes wide open. Ultimately, we ended up demo-ing, leveling, and installing a new floor. He was super accommodating throughout, communicated every step well, and we absolutely love our new floors. The guys did an awesome job with the install. Erik runs a tight ship and you'll be super pleased you went with Hardwood Plus! read more

TLDR: Erik was very communicative and his team were great. Advice for homeowners below - do your research!!! We have a baby, and wanted to change the floors of a house we bought for durability and aesthetics before moving in. There were also a number of creaks in our floors, and we wanted to get them fixed. Erik's team was able to take off the carpet and existing pine hardwood, level the floor, and install the laminate we picked out. His team came at 8am every morning and they finished by evening when we came back. We did this before we moved into our new house, and we love the way our house looks and feels now. Erik (the owner) was the first to come do the consultation, he was quick, and to me he felt very trustworthy from the beginning. He was also communicative throughout the whole process - often on the over-detailed side. And among the other offers, his was reasonable in price (compared to others) and according to our quick timeline. That said, when you get work done you may come across hurdles and it's important you get alternate opinions. As first time homeowners, we assumed that getting flooring done is straightforward. Apparently it's not. We were warned that the initial quote may be affected by the state of our subfloors once they take out the existing flooring. We got an urgent call saying that there was a lot more unevenness in our floors than expected, and that they would have to pour self leveling throughout the entire house, which was a quote of 90 bags, at $150 each. We were told that was the only option, and were strongly encouraged to go this route to make our timeline. After getting evaluations from multiple other flooring experts, we got alternate advice for up to 12 bags of self leveling, max. Our home is only 10yrs old. 90 bags of self leveling is enough for an entire apartment building, and weighs over 2 tons. Apparently the only way to guarantee absolute evenness is if you just pour self leveling on the entire floor, and also easier for the workers. But we opted for the labor-intensive (but more cost effective) way of going through the whole house measuring each high point & low point, sanding down the high points, and only pouring in the patches at the low points. Needless to say, we rejected the proposed approach and Erik's team was able to handle the uneven subfloors with only 3 bags. Three. Unfortunately, this issue resulted in several days delay in the completion of our project, not to mention a lot of additional stress. We wish this hurdle had not happened. That said, we are proud to have not caved under urgency and stress - it would have cost us 13.5K! That said, after consulting quite a few flooring companies - I noticed that each will use different numbers for labor, materials, demo, etc. They also suggest different approaches like keeping quarter rounds on baseboards or ripping them off and attaching new ones. Adding transitions as an additional cost or not, etc etc. Get as many quotes as you can so you understand what is the average price you should expect to pay - they may charge differently, but at the end of the day they have to meet their numbers to pay their guys and still make a profit. Flooring costs more than I expected, and most of the quotes I got were 14-20K for 2 story house around 2000sq ft. (Bathrooms excluded). At the end of the day, we love our new floors. Erik was extremely communicative through the whole process. His team was hardworking, and finished the work before we had to leave on a trip. They were detailed for the part of the floor which met the fireplace, making sure it was flush against the uneven hearth tile. There are barely any squeaks left in the house. They came and resolved any concerns we had. They were flexible with movers coming as they were finishing the last day. All in all, although there was a hiccup in the process, we did have a very good experience with Erik and his team. And, I'm confident he will recommend the spot patching method for leveling the floor for future clients. Thank you for making our floors one of my favorite parts of the house now, Hardwood Plus! read more

They came in the morning. No words wasted. Tools in hand. The work was hard but they did not falter. The days long and quiet but for the scrape and thrum of their craft. When it was done the floor was clean and straight. A job finished as it should be. In this world you take what men offer when they offer it true. These men did. In the end the carpet was laid true. Work was great- but was with a subcontractor. He was fantastic. Communication from business owner was terrible, said things would be sent to me that took a week+, and then had to remind them. Working with Hardwood Plus was great from the beginning to the end. Erik came in with a competitive bid and a detailed estimate. He worked with us to install the flooring of our choice, and helped us get custom stair nosing. His team installed about 1,500 sqft of flooring, including two flights of stairs. It was nice that they tried to get many of the squeaks out of the old floor. It was unfortunate that we needed to level our subfloors, but Erik kept us in the loop with photos, and appreciate that he warned us of this potential situation upfront. There was minor miscommunication about a small scope of work towards the end, but Erik sent his team back to do it for us. They even put in a little extra quarter round for us that was missing to complete the trim of our closets. Erik himself remained communicative with us throughout the process, and addressed my questions and concerns. In the end, we were very happy with the new floors that Erik and team installed. read more

The entire experience working with Erik and his installers was excellent. He came to see the condo, he brought samples with him, he was careful with his measurements, and when I needed to see a few more samples, he met me at his actual shop so that I could see more of what he has. I made my choice, and the experience was effortless. He was honest about the products, honest about the process, and he was careful to let me know that additional work might be required to level the floor beneath the carpet that was there. I'd recommend him and his company to anyone. read more

Very happy with the new carpet and bathroom floor recently installed by Hardwood Plus in my Gig Harbor home. Erik the owner was great to work with and hands on from start to finish. I was back in LA when the job was being done and Erik stayed on top of everything throughout the entire project. We needed the carpets in our house replaced and already knew which carpets we wanted. I called Hardwood Plus late in the day and they still picked up and took down what I asked for and sent somebody out for an estimate the next day. We were on a tight schedule and the winter storm delayed our carpets and made it nearly impossible to have them done before we moved in. They still found a way to get the carpets installed in a single day so we could have our movers put in our furniture the next morning. They even found time to screw in our baseboards for us for free because they were loose. If I ever have flooring needs again I will most certainly be calling Hardwood Plus. read more

His team finished the job in just about 3 days -- fast, efficient, and detail-oriented. We hit a small snag when part of the carpet from Shaw arrived damaged, but Eric handled it right away and worked hard to fix it quickly.
