I'm pregnant and craving a Vietnamese noodle salad, so I called and...JACKPOT! I ordered for pick up and was excited for some grilled chicken goodness! I usually hit places in St. Paul, but living in the burbs the pickings are slim. I got there and decided to order egg rolls and some spring rolls as well...the kids would be excited. I picked everything up and drove home excited to feed my face. I got home and couldn't wait to open the box for my salad...and then I did and was disappointed. The "grilled" chicken was thin sliced chicken fried in a pan. It seriously had no flavor outside of that fake butter (whirl) that kitchen use. It was extremely over cooked and the amount of grease at the bottom of the container was mind blowing. I dumped it into a bowl and noticed that they used iceberg lettuce as well...I have never seen it made that way. I decided to try it because I was starving and I hoped it would taste good..it didn't. It was awful. I got sick from the amount of grease I ingested eating it. I tried a small bite of the egg roll and it was quite tasty. I saved the spring rolls for tomorrow as both my husband and I weren't feeling to well after the salad. I would def go back, but I would never get a salad there. Just had possibly one of the best and most filling lunches in a very long time. I'm going to need to take a nap once I'm done writing this review . The fried pot stickers and Vietnamese Spring Rolls were good appetizers. The Spicy Beef Noodle Soup Pho was perfect. It was flavorful and just delicious with all ingredients cooked perfectly. And the Special Rice Plate is perhaps one of the most delicious dishes I have ever eaten. The shredded carrots were a great compliment along with the sauce in the little cup. The rice and egg were all cooked perfectly. But the grilled pork chop was the most flavorful and perfectly grilled and tender meat that could be cut with a plastic knife easily. Absolutely the best pho in Apple Valley. I have been all over the country and always try the local pho spots and I was so surprised when a small shop near a Culvers in Minnesota had pho as good as this. Always good food. Their egg rolls are so good. Their chicken pan fried noodles are so good and their fried rice is delicious.

Their eggrolls are the best like Vietnamese mini meatloafs wrapped and fried veggies are puréed into the meat together flavorful and decent size although post Covid price went up a lot size got smaller. They other foods are good. Just don't get any of the general tso chicken or any chicken that is fried covered in sauce they make it ahead of time and sauce soaks into the fried coating making it very soggy. Disappointing they should know better than to let the chicken sit in sauce all day. Oh well. I just get other items instead. Again egg rolls are the best! So simple so good. read more

We went in on a blustery cold and windy winter night and the Simplee Pho hit the spot. The interior of the restaurant is very small and tight but good for a quick and casual break for food. The food came out relatively fast after we ordered. I got the meatball and rare steak pho and I'll tell you Simplee Pho has some of the best pho broths I've had yet. They provided the essential sprouts, mint, basil, and hoison/siracha sauces. I also ordered the flavorful Vietnamese eggrolls which are very crunchy, delicious and unlike the traditional eggroll you may of had. We left feeling very full and warm! We've been making our rounds in the Lakeville/AV area trying all the places we can get pho. By far the best experience so far! Super quick service, really nice as well, we had leftovers and were trying to pour it into the containers, they offered help if we needed when they dropped the containers off and basically just took over for the second bowl but were really nice about it- joking around about at least we only spilled a little on the table and not the floor or our shirts. The broth for the pho wasn't overly sweet which we appreciated. It's a harder thing to balance out when the broth comes really sweet. The spicy beef noodle broth wasn't very spicy *for me*, but with an additional few squirts of sriracha and spoonfuls of chili oil and it was fantastic, we also ordered some fried wantons and they were awesome as well. We would definitely come back again! They have a good sized menu so we have plenty to work out way through. read more

When we stopped in months ago, the Pho was presented with what appeared to be a noodle wafer that we needed to let rest a bit so we could have noodles in our soup. I have not experienced this at any of the other Pho locations I have visited, so I am not sure what to make of this. Unappealing knowing other options exist South of the River. Daughter ordered fried rice. Rice looked good, however tasted like they had burnt something in the pan at some point earlier in the evening. Food was pretty quick. Was looking forward to go here. Went with wife for lunch outing. She ordered simple order of veggie fried rice and some cheese wontons. wontons came out like in a minute which really seems odd. Tasted like they were sitting out. When paying saw why, they make a ton of these apps and let sit on trays! Then she got her fried rice! We've had the Vietnamese Eggrolls, Cream Cheese Wonton, Bun Bo Hue pho, Pho Tom, General Tso Chicken, House Special fried rice, and Shrimp Pad Thai. Came to Minnesota for a work trip and ate here literally every day I was in town. The prices are great and the food is very tasty. The egg rolls are huge and crispy and meaty. Definitely recommend. I had the Bun noodle, as I don't really like pho, but it was filling and also pretty healthy. Another Vietnamese restaurant opened in Apple Valley. Small place but good food. Bun Bo Hue had the right amount of spice. The gave a lot of meat. The meat is tender and still has good chew. Most places the meat is boiled so long the texture is the same through out the bowl. The Pho was good too. Not as aromatic as other places but still very good. The egg rolls were awesome. It tasted okay, but there was no taste of the beef fat that naturally comes from a pot of pho when boiled over at least a couple of hours or over night. It tasted like the broth was mainly seasoned from a prepackaged pho seasoning or beef bouillon cubes, not slow cooked/boiled beef-bones, the taste was more watery. Its okay if majority of the patrons are people that are not as familiar with the original recipe or taste of pho that h as s been traditionally homemade. 3 year update! We have been going to Simplee Pho for 3 years and the experience is still great. No matter what we get the choices are wonderful. Lorine, Tony and Family opened Simplee Pho over 3 years ago and they still are the best in the twin cities. Why is Simplee Pho's quality better than most Vietnamese Restaurants? Because they really do care about the ingredients that go into their dishes. We normally get Pork and Egg roll Salads and if you go to different restaurants in the twin cities you will notice that most have stopped putting bean sprouts in their salads. The reason that most restaurants have stopped using that ingredient is that bean sprouts only stay fresh for a short period of time adding to the restaurants cost. Simplee Pho refuses to stop putting bean sprouts in their salads and you can really appreciate the crunchy contrast they add to the salads. In addition to Vietnamese dishes we have also found the selection of Chinese and Thai dishes are very consistent and favorable. But Simplee Pho's Bun bo Hue was surprisingly on point and so close to the one my Mom makes! It was a big bowl of spicy nostalgic amazingness!
