Pasta Giardino
Ed S.

I really want to love this place because it is close to us and others seem to really like it but they just keep giving me reasons to not like it. Last time they would only serve IPAs in a 12 oz glass... now they are serving karate in the garage in a 16. So improving. My wife's lasagna had decent flavor and a nice size portion but mostly noodles and not much meat or cheese. Bread basket is $8 and very good but Italian restaurants around that area don't charge for bread. So that would give them 4 stars.... I ordered the vegetarian pasta because nothing else jumped out at me and I love veggies... but really this dish should be called pasta... with a few veggies. A few bites of vegetables on top and a pile of pasta. If it wasn't for the $8 bread basket I would of left hungry because I am not a fan of pasta without the veggies and after 1/3 of the pasta was gone I was out of veggies. Only 4 people at the bar at 530 so service was very good but a little "hovering". Probably would have been better if it was more crowded. The staff seemed bored. It is a cool looking place with a nice bar. I may try it again but something tells me the problem is systematic... some owners try to keep their margins a little higher than average but when you eat out 5 to 7 nights a week you can spot it pretty easily.

In the mood for a brick oven pizza? I was and this hit the spot. The Caprese salad was good, the Margherita pizza was good and the bread pudding was delicious. My only complaint, no liquor, just beer and wine. It's a small place and the wait might be long but I think it's worth it.

The food is delicious. My favorite is Pasta Weesie although the name has changed over the years. The bread and the salads are great as well. The wait staff have consistently been attentive. I truly enjoy this eatery. The restaurant is clean and environmentally friendly.

I was driving home from Orlando and my husband suggested that we meet at this restaurant in the St. Augustine area. I am glad he did because it was a great decision. The restaurant is located in a small strip shopping center and has indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We were quickly seated when we arrived at 5:30. By the time we left there was a line of about ten people waiting to be seated. Our server, Jacob, quickly came over to take our drink orders. The menu offers appetizers, salads, pizzas and pasta dishes. We opted for the Insalata Simone. It had greens, olives, carrots, onions, cauliflower, and croutons with a while balsamic vinaigrette dressing. My husband and I split the large version and it was just the right size and very tasty. We also got the Toscana pizza . It had sausage, onions, mozzarella and ricotta cheese. It came with six slices of good tasting pizza. For dessert we ordered a regular and a chocolate chip cannoli. Both were beautiful and tasty.

Overall a good experience. We got there early, before the crowd and were seated immediately. Our waiter, Mica, and an associate,Sam, attended to us. They took time to explain the restaurant and shared the specials. Love the craft to table concept. We ordered the caprese salad as an appetizer. It was decent. Unfortunately, it really isn't tomato season here so it wasn't as good as it could be. For dinner, my wife got the mahi special. I got the shrimp diavolo. Both were good but a bit salty for our palate. Portions look small, but really have a lot to them. Before we were done, the restaurant was packed. Fully understand why so many come here.

Salsiccia Toscana Pizza

Dinner at Simone's Wood Fired Craft Kitchen in St. Augustine, Florida was amazing! This place had great ambience, upscale vibe and every table was full! The wine, appetizers and food were excellent! We started with the freshly baked artisan bread basket with oregano and basil dipping oil. The Salsiccia Toscana Pizza (san marzano sauce, sweet and spicy tuscan sausages, balsamic onion confit-fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese) was absolutely perfect! Service was exceptional! Finding parking was a little challenging but worth it. I would definitely recommend!

There was plenty of help behind the counter both at the registers and in the kitchen. The wait to take our order was minimal, as was the wait to be served our food. We ordered pizza and a chicken sandwich. Both were fresh, flavorful, and very eye-appealing. The decor was modern. The staff was pleasant and all remained busy while we were there. The restaurant was clean despite the 'leave your plates in the table' directions. There was inside and outside seating, although the seating inside was minimal. The prices were affordable. If I had to say anything negative... it would be that the music was a tad bit loud.... But easily remedied. We will definitely be back for another visit. Definitely recommended.

Dinner is not to be missed, as the menu changes based on the market and whatever is growing in the chef's garden. I look forward to trying more dishes. Wins: nigiri, grilled octopus, miso black cod, shrimp risotto, lumpia, pork chop, hangar steak, milk bread, key lime pie, pineapple upside down cake, cobbler, crème brûlée, and coffee. Could be better: Beet Salad, Goat Cheese Fritters: I could eat a bowl of those goat cheese fritters by themselves; but the beets could use a fragrant citrus dressing. Crispy tofu bao: the perfect bao and crispy, slightly spicy papaya salad were hits. The unseasoned silky tofu needed to be crispier and cut in small chunks. It easily fell apart. Mac & cheese: not very creamy, rather bland.

This was my first time here, but I came with friends who had been here several times. The chicken wrap smelled outstanding and looked great. Very robust with chicken! The meatloaf my friend said was phenomenal and interestingly enough they do make it with milk. The Philly cheesesteak looked really great. The chicken pot pie however I will say was definitely not a fan favorite here. I had a different vision of pot pie, which this was not it rather it was the fact on the salty side from me. Not sure what the base was but flavor wise it definitely was not for me. But on a positive note, it was made with white meat chicken. The biscuit on top not a fan favored either. Overall, the five stars goes to the outstanding service we received and the reviews of my friends and their meal. They were very gracious here at the restaurant with taking care of the pot pie since it was not eaten. When I return (and it's a customer service that is bringing me back) I'm gonna try the chicken wrap because it smelled fantastic and looked great

Thinking it was a hidden gem because we had never heard of it, we gave it a try. Sadly, it wasn't all we expected it to be. Once we found it hidden in the back of a small shopping center in World Golf Village, we went inside to an empty restaurant at what should've been a bustling lunchtime crowd. The restaurant had all of two employees working. The cashier/waitress asked us to seat ourselves and she brought us the menus. 5, yes FIVE, different things that we attempted to order were out of stock! How do you run a restaurant when 5 staple items are out of stock.... Hamburger patties, bacon, onion rings, and all fountain drinks including coke & dr. Pepper???? It quickly became obvious why the entire restaurant was empty! After we made alternative choices from the menu and received our meals, the waitress spent the entire time we were in her presence talking in the phone and to someone who seemed to be a regular patron that had come in after us to pick up a to-go order. I heard her say that 'today is my last day because I'm moving.' After hearing that, it made sense as to why she never came back to our table to see if we needed anything. We even had to request she bring our check so that we could pay the bill and leave. She was 'too busy' to notice we were finished & waiting.... The food that we got wasn't horrible.... Too bad the service wasn't that great. We most certainly did NOT receive a good first impression and likely won't give it a second try!
