This is my favorite steak in Jacksonville. The ravioli was just okay. Their St. Louis Salad is my favorite! We ordered a side of Cauliflower and not as good as last time. The bottle of wine we bought was very good. Service was okay. It got better as we were there but our waiter was like he didn't want to be there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small and they pack them in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a large NY style pizza to go. The last time I came here it wowed us. This time a few wows and a few okay.
4/29/26. Always a good bet for good food-lunch or dinner. Price for lunch special-1slice pizza, salad and drink is now $10.50... everyone else has gone up so!!?!
Me and my 2 kids. 18" pizza, halo cheese, half with sausage and something else. Side is grilled cauliflower ( this is sooo Yami~) strongly recommended! Also strongly recommended is Lasagna with Italy sauce and rich creamy, ( red words on menu that one ), so delicious! Good experience and very enjoy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only one thing, too many flies .... Please use some fly catch light or something to clean them[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will give 5 stars for food, but 4stars for environment have flies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hope there's not fly in kitchen
Again Picasso's doesn't disappoint. Recently a local review group claimed that Picasso's has the best shrimp and grits in town. I was skeptical only because it is an Italian place. Boy was I wrong. The grits were perfectly cooked, the shrimp were delicious and the sauce was just perfect. We also ordered the Spicy Pasta Arrabiata with Italian sausage and it was fabulous. The homemade pasta was delicious. The service was great as usual and we love the vibe. We drive all the way from the beach just to eat at Picasso's. So good.
Inside is nothing special. Service was slow . Appetizer was not hot and took them quite a while to come back. 2bd time was better. They did mess up our pizza order. But we got more a bigger one for less. Do can't complain there. Pizza had potential but lacked any flavor. Got the jerk chicken pizza. Absolutely no flavor, spice or heat. Had pineapples in it, again they had no flavor. All the desserts were cakes , not any variety. They comped some stuff for the issues we had. It was fine. But for what we paid I don't go back.
We recently visited for a birthday and the food was delicious. However I ordered the pan roasted chicken and was slightly disappointed. While it was tasty and flavorful the portion size for the money ($25 à la carte) was surprising. It was basically the breast meat with the drumette portion of the wing along with some gravy. I did order the sautéed broccolini as a side. I say this mostly as an fyi and not a complaint since the quality and flavor is not lacking. In future I will probably stick with the pizza (brother-in-law was kind enough to share) because that and the garlic rolls were my favorites of the evening.

I went witht he soup of the day which was Garlic. It was not too garlicy which was fine. I had a riesling and so did wifey. Melissa came back and we were ready to order. I wanted the ravioli bolagnese and wife haf the salmon croquettes. The bolanese did not come with grated cheese or crushed pepper. Frankly, I did not aks and was not offered. Desserts were Slimana picking for me. Wifey had yhe carrot cake not pictured. However, the mmm and ahhhh from wifey's mouth told the whole story. Delightful! I had to chase Melissa down for the check and a take out box for the cake. Tried out Picasso's Jacksonville and it did not disappoint. I started with the New Orleans BBQ shrimp, which came with bread. Both were on point. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sauce was packed with flavor. Definitely a strong start. For the main, I had spaghetti and meatballs with buttered bread. The pasta was solid, but I've got to highlight the bread. I'm not usually big on bread, but this right here? Fresh, soft, buttery, and baked just right. Overall, a great experience. Good food, good flavors, and worth checking out. I'd definitely recommend giving them a visit.
Disappointing Experience - Not Coming Back I went to Picasso Restaurant with a friend, and it was a big letdown. My friend had been there a few years ago, and I had been there about four years ago--we expected much better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right away, the place felt unorganized. No reception, just a line and no clear menu--you have to search for it near the cashier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's no real service either: you order, pay, and they bring your food to the table and just drop it off. After that, you're on your own--go find your utensils. Drinks come in styrofoam cups. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The table we picked was wobbly and uncomfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food didn't help either. My fettuccine was extremely salty. I asked for a remake, and it came out in about two minutes--which says a lot. The second one had no flavor, and the chicken was oily and poorly prepared. When I gave feedback, I was offered cake--which completely missed the point. Service felt rushed and careless the entire time. To make it worse, my friend left a generous tip expecting a good experience... which we definitely did not get. We won't be coming back, and we wouldn't recommend it. Save your time and go somewhere else.
In the area visiting some family and took the crew to Picasso's. Some in our party had sandwiches, another had the pizza slice and a salad special, while myself and 2 others shared a large NY style Butcher's Special that we added mushrooms to. I can't speak to the sandwiches, but the party member that had the Ceasar salad said it was yummy. I can say that the pizza was really good. A good crispy crust with a great cheese and sauce / toppings ratio. Fairly easy parking as it's a strip mall type location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathrooms were clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order at counter, self service drinks, and they bring the food to your table. I'd go back if I was in the area and wanted a good pizza or had a group to feed.
This is my first time here for dinner and im blown away!! We all know about the Scratch pasta an pizza. The seafood special today was a B liner wrapped in a potato...and a parsnips sauce. Omg just So delishes...Its really fine dinning. The service is always friendly ...[[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is intimate and chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is amazing. Definitely a hidden gem!!
5 Start Italian-American Eatery, however service can be improved. The location of this place is "ducked-off" and DISCREET. When you pull up, you may think it's a Dive. The inside is the usual CASUAL dining setting. You'll notice a mix of the restaurants inventory mixed into the dining experience (I'm not sure if it's on purpose); however, the causal atmosphere should not be confused with the menu price nor food quality. This place is PRICEY. The wine selection is plentiful. I go house everytime. The food menu is limited, but I feel like you can't go wrong. My go to menu options are Italian Stew pot (for the meatballs), Fried Mozz & Side Salad with Salmon. I have had their pastas and pizzas too. All items (I am impressed) are cooked finely to chef's Perfections. They do not miss on FRESH QUALITY INGREDIENTS. The service is hit/miss. I have gotten a hospitable waiter a time or two. But more times than not you will get a pretentious, pompous attitude from the staff (until you prove your worth). One time we were turned away due to us having a party of 10. The manager's comment was "we'd rather tend to our usuals then host a large party bc they couldn't make room" I think staff training on unconscious bias will go along way. I mean I was a regular before the comment.
Menu has a bit of everything so always weary about a menu with so many different kinds of food but the items we had were very good. I did the gumbo and the bbq shrimp and both tasted great. The shrimp were very NOLA authentic and the gumbo roux had the perfect dark chocolate color but was a little heavy on the flour but still very good. The ravioli also good but a pretty small portion for a pasta main course. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great and the the place was upscale strip mall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all a good dinner.

I have been hearing about Picasso's for years now but somehow we never found our way there. But we recently decided to lock in and we were going to make it. I knew they were in the Mandarin area but wasn't exactly sure where but once we looked it up we realized how often we were in the area. We did come in on a Saturday Night so there was a wait to get in which was about 45 minutes for 2 but lucky Monkey's Uncle is right next-door so we grabbed some drinks there. We got our text that our table was ready and we walked over. Once seated our waitress went over the specials and I checked out the menu. They really have something for everyone and even some New Orleans classics. We of course had to get the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp since it's favorites plus it's one of their most popular dishes so it has to be good and you already know it was. The spicy butter sauce had so much flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the bread was great for sopping up every last drop of sauce. Being at Picasso's we also had to try a pizza and they have St Louis style which is have never had but I do love a thin crust so we tried the 12" The Gourmet Pizza which comes with Pancetta Bacon, Caramelized Onions, Brie, and Truffle Oil. This pizza was amazing and unlike any I have had. I will say the Brie will catch you off guard at first but this pizza is for sure worth a try. For my entree I went with the Fettuccine Alfredo and I added a Chicken Cutlet for $10. Let me tell you.... This might have been the best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever hit it's that good. The Fettuccine Alfredo is made in house from scratch which is how it always should be done and the Alfredo is so flavorful. The Chicken Cutlet is also crispy, tender and flavorful as well. You really cannot go wrong with this combo. If you are a connoisseur of Fettuccine Alfredo Picasso's is a place you can not miss. We had an amazing dinner and the staff was so friendly and hopeful from entering to leaving. We for sure will be coming back in the near future to try some new dishes though I don't know how I'm going to be able to come back and not get that Fettuccine Alfredo. read more
I love this little spot. It's close to my house, the staff are super friendly, the food is always good. The pizzas are excellent and we love having them leftover! I've tried multiple pastas and they never disappoint. The space is a decent size, but they're usually so busy you may have to wait a little while. It's worth it for a solid experience! Nice wine selection and they often have food specials if you like to try different things. read more
I have heard about Picasso's so many times and finally we stopped in... it did not disappoint! We came around 6:00 on a Saturday and the place was packed, the wait time was estimated to be an hour and a half but we were committed. We popped around the corner to a bar and grabbed a drink and before we knew it we were getting called. New for the food, let me preface this portion by saying our eyes were waayyy bigger than our stomachs so we ordered way too much. For starters we ordered BBQ shrimp and the Gormet pizza St Louis style. Both were delicious and perfect appetizers. For my main I got the gnocchi special, but I added sausage and mushrooms to it, which made the dish immaculate! The gnocchi on its own was good but with the extras was five stars. I also tried Mike's Alfredo and it was probably the best I've ever had. For dessert we ordered the gooey butter cake it was scrumptious! The service is also top tier! Our waitress was funny and helpful but gave us time to enjoy our food. There are so many things I want on the menu we will definitely be back. read more

Picasso's never disappoints, and today was no exception! While we usually go for their pizza, we decided to try their sandwiches for lunch. I'm so glad we did! They can literally do no wrong! The flavors were on point, and everything tasted just as fresh and delicious as always. It's been a while since we've been in, and I noticed the new system where you order and pay first before sitting down, which I don't mind at all as long as the food's still stellar. And it definitely was! Another solid experience that keeps us coming back. read more

This place is one of my fav pizza places in Jacksonville. There's a reason it's been here forever. The pizza is so good and fresh. Becareful ordering a small size of Alfredo for the crust though....its $2.75 for 2 oz. Also if you want mushrooms added to the kitchen sink, it's an extra $1.75. So, like everywhere they're nicholing and dining you. The service is always decent. Some servers have been here forever. Others are newer. One of the best steakhouse in Jacksonville is not a steakhouse! The one place I consistently get a great steak at a great price in a relaxed atmosphere is Picasso's. Their daily butcher's special is always delicious and is usually a pound or more, making it perfect for splitting. My wife and I will split one of their Mayfair salads (it is not called a Caesar, but in reality it is one and one of the best around) and the butcher special and nobody goes home hungry. This is not some OK toss it on the grill and serve it, this is a perfectly cooked NY Strip or Rib Eye with all the trimmings. The steak we had (shown) came with asparagus, fried potato squares (the kind made up of many layers) and morel mushrooms stuffed with foie gras. The steak was served with a red wine gastrique that was superb. Because I am a wine geek I took my own bottle of a good Bordeaux, knowing that the VERY reasonable $10 corking made that a good choice. BUT had I not, they have an excellent selection and, something I know from having worked in a wine shop for a while, have some of the lowest mark-ups on wines around. You can often get bottles there for only slightly more than you would pay for them at a shop. Finally, the ambiance and service. The place is ALWAYS busy (no doubt because of all the things I have mentioned) but the wait staff is pleasant and orders arrive quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very family friendly and at times a little loud, but one can always hear their dinner partner, unlike some other places.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have eaten at almost all the "Steakhouses" in Jax and there is truly none I like as much as Picasso's. read more

We dined in on a reservation for dinner. Our service was fast and friendly. The food was all piping hot and delicious. The marinara and bolognese were wonderfully seasoned. The spicy pasta was spicy but not too spicy. The pizza crust was thin and crispy. We will definitely return. read more

I've been going to Picasso for many many years and have never left disappointed. My go to is the Butcher's Special on St Louis crust. It's not really something you can get anywhere else here that I'm aware of. The service is always good even though the place can get a little chaotic during peak meal times. It's still busy after all these years for a reason! read more

Oh Picasso's... A gem, truly a gem. This spot is tucked away into an unsuspecting strip mall in Mandarin just across the Buckman which is a solid 30 minute drive for us, but well worth the trek. Entering the restaurant you're promptly greeted by the host/hostess who will probably apologize that there will be a short wait. (A good sign) No worries, you're seated in the small, but quaint restaurant with large booths to accommodate parties of 6-8 along with freestanding tables. Once you're seated you can read a bit of their background and philosophy; a St. Louis native, plopped down into Jacksonville to share his culinary expertise. You're greeted by STL staples like toasted ravioli, cracker-thin STL style pizza, and gooey butter cake to round things out --tempting for a fellow Saint Louis-an. But, my goodness, the pastas, freshly made in house with care. Premium, fresh ingredients, portions with flexibility to share, though you won't want to. Impressive wine selection to pair. If the quality of your food didn't convince you how much these small business owners care about your experience, maybe chat up the owners themselves who frequently make rounds throughout their establishment to ensure you leave with the most satisfyingly perfect meal in tow. Okay okay, great dinner spot but it's midday and I just need to grab a bite. My friends, grab a Philly cheesesteak for the road or any of there other lovely sandwiches. All-in-all, this place goes above and beyond, is priced exceptionally fairly for the quality/quantity and remains my favorite spot in town for pizza/pasta. read more

Came without a reservation and was told it would be 2 hours wait for a table for 2 people. We put our name on the list but ended up leaving and forgot to take our name off. They texted us 15 minutes later and said our table was ready so we came back LOL. Our first time here and wasn't sure what to expect... We both got the eggplant Parmesan ($15). It was good. We should have tried some of the pizza and other menu items. Next time! This is a sit down place to make conversations with your people. No TV's or anything to distract you. read more

Best Italian homemade restaurant and I mean FRESH everything! I suggest the Heart of Mediterranean pizza and add-on sausage, fried basil , Mayport shrimp -- and for Dessert hands down the Gooey Butter Cake (ask for them to warm in up for the ultimate decadent experience ever WHOO - and a cuppa of Joe). Heaven is here in a unique WORD OF MOUTH place - no advertising required . Family owned and the owners are always here working. One of our favorites! Noi is the best server so we try to coordinate our visits when she is working. The food is always delicious. My go-to is the pan-roasted chicken (so flavorful)! Hubby got the special burger with onion bacon jam and a side salad. We split some apps (don't skip on the fried Mac and Cheese) and a small fettuccine alfredo. We were so full we didn't have room for the butter cake but I highly recommend it if you don't overdo it on apps like we did. It's a small place that you may miss if you weren't looking for it. There are large booths and a separate room that can be reserved for parties. The owners are super friendly and very attentive. Definitely add this place to your places to try! read more

I was really excited to try this place since I've heard great things about it. Me and my family tried it out on a Saturday during lunch. One thing I wasn't expecting was that there is no table service during lunch. You order at a counter, get given a number, and then sit down at a table. You get your own silverware and drinks as well. This is definitely a casual spot, and not somewhere I'd go for an intimate dinner or romantic date. It tends to get a bit loud since the kitchen is open to the dining room. The service here was outstanding from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Every employee was very friendly and attentive. If I was just basing this review on food, it would be three stars, but the fantastic service bumps it to four stars. I ordered the lunch special which included a drink, slice of pizza, and a side salad for $8.50. The other lunch option was 2 slices and a drink for $8. We also ordered the fried mozzarella for the table. The fried mozzarella was easily the best thing we ordered. It was hot, flavorful, and the marinara dipping sauce was delicious. The side salad was middle of the road, nothing crazy. I got the Italian dressing which was more of an oil and vinegar. I'd prefer if the salad was served in a bowl rather than a plate, and some of the lettuce had obvious brown spots. The slice of pizza was good, but not outstanding. I got pineapple on mine. The pineapple was the canned kind, which was very disappointing since they put a huge emphasis on fresh ingredients (as stated in their Yelp bio. I don't think canned pineapple is the best pineapple in town). This pizza was 10% crust 20% sauce and 70% cheese. If that's your kind of thing, you'll love it. The cheese was a bit too much for me, very thick and chewy, and took away from the sauce and crust. I prefer more even proportions for my pizza, but if a cheese lover you'll be in heaven. Overall, it was good for a quick and casual lunch. I wouldn't return for the pizza since it's not my preferred style, but I'm still curious to come back for dinner and try their handmade pasta. read more

Picasso's never misses a beat with their exceptional service and fresh food. The dishes are always unique and amazingly good. The table could not stop talking about how great the shrimp n grits were. I was amazed at how tender and flavorful the NY strip was. Picasso's is always slammed but the experience never wanes. I love the casual vibe especially with such elevated dishes. Went on a Monday at 1:30 pm. Wasn't greeted and asked abruptly what I wanted. Ordered a caprese salad and a red house wine. Was poured a white wine and asked for red house and she said didn't know if they had a house red. She found a wine and poured it haded me my number and I joined my friends who had ordered pizza (which they loved). Their pizza came and they were done eating when my order showed up. $10 for a very messy and unappetizing plate arrived. Was not impressed and will not be back. Is your online menu up to date with your prices, I see comments on Yelp that says it's not, February 2022?
Is everything spicy? Got the chicken parm over linguine with red sauce & couldn't eat the pasta because it was too spicy. Nothing in the description indicated it was spicy or I wouldn't have ordered it. Makes me hesitant to go back.
Always ask your server level of spicy.
Are there any vegan items on menu? I looked but everything is laden with cheese and meat. Website says they are all local and custom so are there items that can be made vegan?
The salads can definitely be made vegan. The Italian dressing is vegan. The pasta with marinara or the pasta with Arribatta sauce would also be vegan.
We went yesterday and a sign on the door said they were closed due to technical difficulties Does anyone know if or when they are reopening?

They have changed their menu up a bit. No more ramen or wings (which were the best in town).
