So I bought a really cute dress for Xmas on fashion nova. It was to big in the waist, so I needed it altered. I hopped on Yelp to find someone who could alter before the holiday. Chris answers the phone snd told me they could do it the next day! I was beyond thrilled! Chris goes above snd beyond, with his customer service! We laughed and had a good time while he pinned up the dress. He also put a hook and eye on a blazer I bought that didn't come with any type of closure. I'm so happy with both! I had curtains made for my home and they ended up being too long. I called all over the place to find someone that would be able to hem them. I sent out messages on Yelp and Chris answered immediately! Wow, talk about amazing Customer Service. He asked me to bring in one of the panels and he would give me an estimate. After I received the estimate I brought all the panels in for hemming and I can not thank Chris enough for calling me before they hemmed them. I had given him the correct measurements but I did not take in to account that I measured where the curtain rod was and not the curtains. If Chris would not have called me to verify where I measured them from, they would have been too short. I took my 1 and 5 year old's white flower girl dresses there after they got so incredibly disgusting at a wedding and got them back looking amazing, the 5 year olds was as good as new, the smaller one is still a teeny bit dark at the very very ends but they told me they cleaned it 3 times and it still couldn't be perfect but I'm honestly surprised it came back as clean as it did, I wish I had before and after pictures because it was so horrible going in. read more

Chris and the tailor here at Simi Valley cleaners are amazing! I brought in my daughters 7-LAYER prom dress in to the store about 2 weeks before the dance, and they were able to do all the alterations perfectly within a week!! Considering the time it took the tailor to hem allllll the layers, add a sash and the straps, the price for the alterations was reasonable for a 'rush' project. David's Bridal (where we purchased the dress) did not even want to provide us with a quote because they said they did not have enough time. One of my best friends used SVC for her wedding dress during Covid, and we had the same experience: excellent, quick and reasonable alterations. After my old tailor retired I was looking for a new place to go. I read the reviews for all of them, but was especially impressed by the good words people were leaving of this place. I walked in looking to get my pants hemmed and tapered, but unfortunately Chris was not there and his son (who was there) thought it better that his father do the measurements since he was more experienced. He gave me his father's number and told me to call him, that he'd be happy to stay at the shop longer if need be so that I could come in whenever I had the time. Luckily, my class the following day did not start until 11 am so I had time to drop by the next morning when Chris would be there. Although I never called him, I was still really blown away by their eagerness to help and their willingness to accommodate. With regard to the actual experience: with my old tailor I was used to just telling him how I wanted my pants tailored without further input on his end. But when I was telling Chris, he actually suggested subtle changes to both the taper and hem that I originally requested. Taking into consideration that he has far more experience than me, of course I went with his input; and upon getting the pants back a few days later I was really glad that I went with his advice because it came out better than I imagined.
