wor wonton soup
Kylee D.

I wanted to have lunch at Silver Dragon. I have been eating at the other location until it closed. I ordered the wor wonton soup. Just the right amount of ham, chicken, veggies, and wonton. It was really good. I usually get the Mongolian beef but I couldn't eat a lot that day. The server was really nice. I ordered a Coke. I told her I didn't want the hot tea. she let me eat without bugging me about the food. she check on me two times. she boxed my leftovers...thank you. The space was nice. I sat at a table. There is bar seating if you like that. there were quite a few people there so some chatter but not too much. I can't wait to come back. next time I will get my usual wor wonton and Mongolian beef. I got a fortune cookie but can't tell you what the fortune said, because it won't come true!

Had the lunch special. Reasonable price, generous portion, good Chinese food. Would come back in the area.

Like always, great service and great food. I like there new location, which is bigger. This place gets busy but yet, they get you seated pretty quick.

A solid 3. Nothing too unique about this place, but the standard lunch specials are always a good deal. It is good that, even though this is their new location, they have not changed their recipes. While the food is fairly typical, the hot and sour soup is some of the best in Sacramento. My little sister and I would always get the hot and sour soup when sick...or raining...or days ending in "y." Good news!!! The recipe is the same. Still delicious soup. Overall, nothing too extraordinary, but a good, reliable Chinese food lunch meal. Definitely be sure to order yourself some hot and sour soup

I did not love this place. We've been looking for a new Chinese restaurant buy the house and unfortunately this one disappointed. The first issue was that it was way too hot in the restaurant, it actually felt warmer inside that it was outside. We did not care for the food at all. The Mongolian beef was cooked fresh, just bland. The rice has a very odd taste to it. I have to say that the restaurant was busy, so maybe we were just the odd balls out.

New location!

My parents would take us to the Silver Dragon since we were little kids, and we grew up loving their sizzling rice soup, sesame chicken, mushu, and fried rice. We visited so often that the restaurant family all recognized us as we grew up. Tonight I went to pick up takeout for my family during a visit home to see my mom, who is terminally ill. :( We're trying to give her all her favorite meals in her last months. The owner remembered me and said I looked just like my mom. When I shared the sad news about her, he looked heartbroken and told me of his own stories of family loss in the past year, sharing his sincere personal advice. It was heartwarming. Our family got to enjoy the food together at home in the backyard, all grateful that the recipes and quality have stayed the same all these years. Hopefully they will be around for the next few decades!

Lunch special. Comes with a hot pot of tea and a soup my plate was beautiful, delicious and very filling . GREAT portions for the price . I love it here. Beautiful environment to eat as well very modern and classy.

The fabulous and hearty wor wonton soup... just the thing for a winter's day. The sizes are VERY generous.

Happy times are here again! Our first visit to Silver Dragon Chinese restaurant since their reopening in their brand new, gorgeous location at Fair Oaks and Madison. The food is hot, delicious and just like we remember it. Equally special is the fact that the same friendly staff is back too! Great news all around... we'll be back regularly... takeout is excellent too!

Spices have changed when the original owner died. It used to be my favorite place. Not so much now.

Got takeout for lunch and it just wasn't too tasty. Egg rolls in particular tasted like the fry oil was very off.

The whole dining space looks really stunning and comfortable for dining in. It was amazing watching the chef cook in the open kitchen! I ordered the Sichuan shrimp combo fried rice and Mongolian beef. The Sichuan shrimp combo fried rice was perfectly wok‑hei, well‑seasoned, plenty of plump, juicy shrimp in every bite. Mongolian beef was absolutely fantastic, tender slices of beef coated in rich, savory‑sweet sauce, not overly greasy at all. Every dish tasted fresh and full of flavor. The staff provided excellent, attentive service, very polite and quick to respond to requests. Service was friendly and efficient. This place is definitely on my to go list, highly recommend stopping by!

Now if you don't like cilantro I highly suggest getting something else. Or at least order it with out cilantro cuz that is a lot. The potsticker are ok honestly nothing special about them but they were decent. I can't wait to come back and try many different options.

This is my favorite spot in Folsom Historic Downtown. Started with a dozen oysters on the half shell ($52), served with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and their house-made hot sauce. Honestly, probably the best oysters in town. Fresh, briny, and consistently good. We also had the honey walnut shrimp ($21). Beer-battered jumbo shrimp with ginger honey glaze, walnuts, and a touch of sriracha. Crispy, sweet with a little heat, and the walnuts added a nice crunch. We also ordered the CAB marinated tri tip ($27) with chimichurri and black garlic emulsion. Sliced medium rare, tender and beefy, and the chimichurri gave it a bright, herby contrast. They do have sashimi as well. I have tried it in the past and the quality is outstanding, but it is slightly overpriced compared to what you would get at a proper Japanese restaurant. I do wish they offered a greater variety of sashimi though. The vibe here is classy but relaxed, perfect for a slow afternoon. Service was top notch, attentive without hovering. One of the best seafood places in town. I will definitely be back.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself was noticeably clean, which immediately set a welcoming tone upon walking through the door. The service was also excellent throughout the evening, with an attentive and hospitable staff that took great care of me. I started the meal with the bread service, which was a major high point. The bread arrived incredibly fresh, and it paired wonderfully with the high quality balsamic vinegar and oil provided. For the main course, I ordered the seafood risotto. The seafood components were standout elements of the night, as every piece was perfectly prepared, exceptionally fresh, and packed with flavor. The risotto itself was executed well, though it was just a bit too soupy for my personal preference. However, it was still a very enjoyable dish overall. Unfortunately, the physical environment and the dessert course dampened the experience. I was seated in a booth where the bench seat was completely broken. It felt unstable, and I had to be constantly careful throughout the entire meal to avoid sliding or falling forward directly into the dinner table. This made it difficult to fully relax. The meal ended on a low note with the tiramisu. The dessert was completely covered in a cheap, grocery store style chocolate syrup that you would typically expect on an ice cream sundae. This heavy syrup unfortunately masked all the delicate, authentic flavors of the tiramisu itself. Ultimately, a few quality errors from the kitchen and a lack of furniture maintenance held back what could have been an outstanding dining experience.

We opted for a 3 piece fish and chips, two extra fish, and a cup of clam chowder. The food came out relatively quick and piping hot. I was surprised with the quantity of fish they gave us and they even added a fried zucchini and onion, yum! The soup and fries were yummy but it was the fish that really stood out to me. The pieces were big and juicy with not too much batter. The batter was perfectly crispy on the outside. My husband, toddler, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
