Double Chocolate Triple-Layer Cake
Jenny H.

I came with family to enjoy a brunch since it's my spiritual daughter's fav spot for wales and French toast and we love great brunches. Up pin arrival, we were quickly seated. The place is colorful like old school diner with jukebox, colorful red and silver decor. It is clean and busy for a Friday 2pm lunch time. Our waitress came over and greeted us. Immediately asked what we want to drink and offer recommendations and specials. We decided on brunch items and a burger. The food arrived quickly and served with real syrup. To get food was hot, correctly prepared and to try French toast was moist and flavorful. The waffle was crunchy with chewy. Eggs were prepared according to our ask. The waitress regularly checked in and served us. We end with the double chocolate cake. And it was chocolatey but not overwhelmingly sweet. Definitely coming back!

My fiance and I came here while visiting family in town. The only reason we came by was because it was right by our hotel, we weren't familiar with the restaurant because we live in NC. It also just looked really cool and we had to check it out. Walking inside is truly like stepping back into time and everything is so clean. Every table has it's own mini jukebox which is pretty fun! IDK if it actually works, we never heard the songs we picked lol. But it was still just cool to play with and talk about while perusing the menu and talking. They have a pretty large menu too, so that made it harder to pick. They had all the old classics along with some newer items and diet friendly items. I ordered a strawberry shake and it was sooooo thick and so good! I love that they give you the extra milkshake in a separate container. I ate all of it, it was really such a great milkshake lol. I also tried their burger and fries. AMAZING!!!! This place was so good we came back the next morning for breakfast! We enjoyed that as well. Can't wait to come back in town to eat here again!!!

The service here was great. We went during the holidays and it wasn't too busy. The food came quickly and our party of 6 was served efficiently. Our waiter met all of our needs. All of the food was delish and we enjoyed having the all day breakfast option. Also to note the 1/2 salad I had was a hearty portion and I was able to take some home!

I love stopping by here for my lunch break. Whether I'm picking up a seasonal dish like this Thai Coconut Quinoa Pasta or a classic standby like a good reuben, it always hits the spot.

Great family atmosphere! Stopped in after looking at Christmas lights and had a wonderful experience. Von gave us excellent, friendly service. The BLT hit the spot, and you cannot skip the pecan pie--it's amazing. Highly recommend!

This is a great place for kiddos, with an awesome rewards program for kiddos. I was also impressed that they have several local, organic and non-gmo options. Service was good and the atmosphere was friendly and clean. Definitely recommend for families and important to note that they have multiple options for various dietary needs.

The Silver Diner was very quick to get us in with a large party when the restaurant we were at wasn't working out. The server was so friendly and quick to help us. Our drinks came out very quickly and our food came out all together. Everything was so delicious! I got the patty melt with the bison burger and it was so good! They had an insert for some specialty items but there weren't any descriptions or prices so that was a little frustrating but everything was so good! I will definitely be back considering how easily they accommodating for us and the food was delicious.

Silver Diner has a cool nostalgic, diner vibe. We were seated quickly and our server Danae was really helpful and quick. We ordered the Alicia's dip eggrolls, fish and chip, pickle brined chicken sandwich, Belgian waffle and Americans favorite. There weren't many complaints from my friends. The eggs & bacon for my America's favorite were perfect. The potatoes were good too but needed a little salt + pepper. My only regret is getting a bagel instead of a biscuit. The bagel was toasted HARD. Even after added butter and jelly, it was a struggle to eat. Overall a good experience and I'd likely comeback.

I loved that the atmosphere of the restaurant was a retro diner (yet obviously clean and new) but that the food was more farm-to-table. They are open late (until midnight and 1:00 a.m.!) which is great. Our server, Tatyana, was very sweet and efficient. I ordered the corned beef hash (crispy) and green tea. The tea was also organic. I expected just plain green tea, but it was ginger lemon --- one of my favorites. The hash was great, and the accompanying eggs and potatoes were also nicely prepared. And I loved the biscuit, too. My sister had the pot pie, which was more like a pot pie soup with a biscuit on the bottom and covered with two pieces of crust. I also indulged in "the world's smallest sundae" which wasn't that small; it was one scoop of ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce (I don't think it was hot fudge) and walnuts. It was perfect. They also have a full bar, for those who are interested. Because it's more farm-to-table and not a diner, the prices are a little higher than a diner would be, but still reasonable.

It's been quite a long time since I've been to the silver diner and they definitely upped their game with way more interesting menu for brunch. In addition to the standard breakfast fare, they had some interesting twists on old favorites with organic and local ingredients. Turned out to be a really nice and affordable Sunday brunch with the family. We arrived around 11:30 and it was pretty busy but we didn't wait too long for a booth for four to open up. Could be a challenging wait for those in a wheelchair because there are mostly booths and only a few tables in the back. Thankfully, my dad is mobile enough to move into a booth from his chair. We ordered coffee and juice to start, and I was pleasantly surprised that their coffee was quite good. For food we ordered the quinoa and coconut pancakes for the whole table to share, the Burrata shakshuka for me, country fried steak and eggs for my dad, jack cheddar cheese omelette with bacon for my mom and a corned beef hash with eggs for my sister. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered and we all devoured the coconut and quinoa pancakes with grilled banana on top.

I have worked by Silver diner for four years now, and this was my first time going, and I have major regrets for not going sooner! I love a good diner, but they're normally always so greasy, but this time everything was so light and fresh!I got the triple pickled sandwich And for a pickle lover I was an absolute heaven, and the coleslaw it came with was so fresh and crisp! The staff was friendly and the service was quick.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food here. I rushed back from the airport to meet my family. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Salmon and shrimp over Yukon mashed potatoes! Yum! From burgers to salads to kids meals everyone said their dish was ample and tasty. Also hot I hate tepid food!

Although the facade may look like an old diner, and has the classic designs, this place is shiny and new. The food was outstanding as was the service. It can get crowded enough for a bit of a wait. It's worth it! The French Fries were excellent! My burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. Turkey Club and the BLT were spot on. Chicken Noodle Soup was great, as were the salads. Service was excellent. It's a great example of the best diners have to give you.

I had the braised beef short ribs, which were melt-in-your -mouth. Paired with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, and some of the best collard greens I've ever had. He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. The only thing that would have made the meal better was some of the slab bacon, but we'll know to come for breakfast or lunch for that next time!

Upon entering, the hostess greeted us and, at our request, seated us outside because it was a beautiful day. The restaurant venue and ambiance were modern and well kept. The bathroom was clean and nice. The outside seating area was also fairly clean with comfortable seating. Our server (neither my partner nor I caught her name as she said it: she had beautiful braids with blonde streaks woven in) started on the right foot, took our orders promptly, and brought out our waters. I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop, and my partner chose the Fried Chicken, subbed pimento mac and cheese for the collard greens (who can blame her?). The food did not come out promptly. My best guess is that our server was seated with a large table and prioritized a better tip over the two top (us) outside. Eventually, the food came out (~25 minutes, so not terrible), but for the number of patrons in the restaurant, it was too long. My partner's mashed potatoes were cold, but she said the fried chicken and mac and cheese were fantastic. The potatoes tasted delicious, but they were simply not warm. My pork chop was very thick, like a filet, which is okay, but it wasn't what I expected. I prefer a thin pork chop, so that it cooks all the way through (more solid, not soft). It was passable. The beans and rice (Hoppin' John) were also not what I was expecting; I was thinking more New Orleans-style, but they were bland, like cream of mushroom soup on unseasoned beans and rice. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert. We ended up waiting for that for ~20 minutes as well, a half-pint glass of banana pudding with underripe bananas mixed in. Note to the chef: heat ripens bananas, so you could toss a few in a skillet with a little oil in a pinch (egg yolks also work). We waited for another 10 minutes, and I finally went inside and asked the hostess for the check. I realize it is difficult to serve, but you must also consider asking your colleagues for help if you have too much going on. All in all, the food was satisfactory, but the service was lacking. We ended up waiting an hour longer than we should have had to. I semi-recommend Farm and Oak, but look to be seated with the better server, John. He and the hostess saved our experience.

If it had been amazing, that might have been worth waiting for, but it was forgettable. The menu is blah and standard. Nothing exciting. The flavors, meh. I got the arugula and proscuitto pizza last time. Someone at our table got that this time. It looked really dry. I ordered salmon because I thought you can't mess it up. It was just okay. It was my first visit, and I was genuinely impressed with the ambiance, service, and overall quality of the meal. The menu offers a nice variety of food and cocktails. We started with the cast iron goat cheese, and it was rich, layered in flavor, and paired with bread that was delicious on it's own. For my entrée, I chose the margherita pizza, and it was one of the best I've had. The sauce was perfect, and the crust had an ideal texture and flavor. My boyfriend ordered the spicy sausage & black pepper honey pizza. While neither of us found it particularly spicy, it was still bold and very flavorful. Service was friendly and efficient throughout the evening. It was a wonderful experience overall, and I'm looking forward to returning.

Usually this place has a line but with other breakfast restaurants opening in the area, I think the crowds have spread out to different brunch/breakfast places. We ordered coffee and were brought water. The coffee is good. I can drink it black, no problem. They should sell the beans! I've been trying to eat healthier so got their gracious goodness breakfast, which was made with egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, feta, onions and tomatoes. It's served with either grits or hash browns and toast. I got my toast without butter. My husband got an omelet that had sausage, veggies, potatoes, etc. it came with the same sides options and he chose girls, and toast. When my egg white omelet showed up it was swimming in butter. You can see how much if you look at the picture. So much for being healthy. The toast was barely toasted and the potatoes were lukewarm and tasted like they've bit sitting in a box in the walk-in for too long. They weren't crispy either. I didn't eat the potatoes and only ate half of the omelet. I also had a side of corned beef hash because it's one of my favorites. My husband said his omelet was just okay. Next time we go for breakfast we will probably go somewhere else. I know the Eggs Up Grill where I grew up closed (it was in Mt Pleasant SC).
