Smash Burger (gluten free bun, added fried egg)

Quick Snap: I love the enjoying the retro vibe of Silver Diner. I go for the excellent cuisine. Customer Service has been amazing each of the three times I was there. I've been able to enjoy the new Silver Diner of Fredericksburg 3 times. Twice with my husband for brunch and once with a friend after a late movie. I've tried the gluten free BLT and the "Smash-burger". Both were extremely tasty. I even ordered the smash-burger twice. But my favorite item from the Silver Diner menu is their hot chocolate. It's warm, rich and feels like a hug. I can highly suggest this farm to table, local chain and I can especially recommend this location. The managers are artists it shows in the quality of the food and also the great attitudes of the staff. Bravo!

I was excited last night for the chance to go to Silver Diner. I grew up loving the old diners up North--the stainless steel that shined like a freshly waxed Airstream, the booths you could disappear in, and enough gleaming glass to make you feel like you were eating inside a jukebox. I remember the flavors from the diners along Highway 1 and 301 as my family made that long haul between Rhode Island and South Carolina. Those places could fry a piece of fish so good you'd slap your mama and ask for seconds. So naturally, I thought that's what I was getting as we walked in the door. We were met with a smile and seated fast. Everything looked clean and bright. Our server appeared in about three seconds--so quick I thought maybe he'd been sitting in the booth behind us waiting for his cue. Drinks were ordered and life was good. The bride ordered fish and chips with a side salad--Thousand Island on the side. When the food arrived, the dressing didn't. Our server said he didn't hear her ask for it. I ordered a hamburger and onion rings. I got a hamburger and fries. He said he didn't hear me either. Now look... I wear two hearing aids and tend to talk like I'm hollering instructions across a construction site. If I order onion rings, most people on the next block know about it. But somehow, the one man who needed to hear it did not. The burger was just okay. The fries tasted slightly better than McDonald's but looked like they'd been studying under them. The bride's fish was so over-breaded and stiff that I wasn't sure if she should eat it or shingle the roof with it. It had that "kept warm for a couple of hours" crunch that no one in the history of fried fish has ever asked for. Ahhh well. You can never go home. But you can go to Silver Diner--once

First time we have been here.. always packed on weekends! KAIT was our server and a great personality, and I always had a smile. She even had time for a small conversation. Our food was ordered precisely delivered. It was nice and hot even up till the ice cream on the apple pie.. the bathroom was very clean. There was a lady who was cleaning the table tables always smiling, clean the tables right away didn't leave anything behind, even wiped down the benches.. We will definitely be back

Another amazing Experience! Had my same waitress from 3 weeks ago and she remains a 10 out Of 10! Bailey took care of us and treats us and all of her customers like family. And my Belgium waffles with soft whipped butter...mmmm superb!!

Kendyll was amazing. Super attentive, great with recommendations, and was willing to work with my picky(snobby) palate. Then, they brought us out chocolate and strawberries as well as our pie for dessert. They were celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary with us. The staff were kind, sweet, and just overall welcoming. Will go again numerous times. I love the ambiance so much. A little more sophisticated on the food without being hard to approach.

Fairly new Silver Diner to this area and expect it'll improve as more ppl gain experience. Service wasn't bad and the food was good. Average experience but not at the level that the other 3 I've visited in NoVA/MD. The manager for one announced to his staff that member was a no call - no show (fair) and proceeded w you know what happens to their job. While not a bad message to communicate but not infront of customers as he was at the bar area making the statement. Then there were a couple of servers who decided it a good idea to eat food a customer returned at the bar area. Again, why waste food but maybe this isn't something you do in front of customers. Probably a bunch of new people to food industry and maybe their staffing model is "hire who we can until we can hire who we want" I like Silver Diner and glad they are here but the professionalism and service will need to increase for me to continue to patronize. Especially because I've heard First Watch is coming.

Our bartender/server was Lashone and she was funny, fast and friendly! She was pouring drinks for the ENTIRE restaurant and didn't miss a beat!! The breakfast menu is small but everything sounded fantastic. I chose the Steak Tacos; my husband chose the brie and bacon frittata (added by the chef since the quiche was sold out. Steak tacos were delicious (see pic). Menu said they had steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, tomato salsa, breakfast potatoes and cilantro. I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. We'll be back soon to see Lashone!

I went with the breakfast crepe, which was good, but honestly couldn't compete with that pita. Renee even makes her own verde hot sauce, which was a really nice touch! She made sure to let me know there were specials written on the wall in chalk. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza crepe, but instead of ham and bacon, how it's originally made, I had just pepperoni. I would have added onion, but I thought a $1 upcharge for onion was far too much, so i didn't add it on principle alone. The crepe came out pretty quickly! It was very good, my only "gripe" is that the cheese and pepperoni didn't get a lil burn to it, like a pizza would have. I love burnt cheese and a lil char on my pepperoni! My sweet crepe, I got apples, sweetened condensed milk, walnuts and whipped cream. This was also very good! Not too sweet, just sweet enough! The apples retain their heat a bit, though, and i burnt me mouth, but that's my own fault. I will definitely be coming back, probably alone again, as it's a rather tiny establishment. This is definitely a hidden gem in fxb!

As you walked, the restaurant is clean, cozy and vibrant. There were 3 items ordered: 1) Avocado Toast 2) Cuban Sandwich 3) Apple French Toast. Let's start with the avocado toast, as it was presented on a platter with two grain toasted topped with smashed avocado and your choice of eggs which in this case was medium over easy and it comes with your selected sides - masala's with balsamic. Everything was delicious but I prefer my eggs to have a slight crust around the whites. The next item was the Cuban sandwich which didn't come in your typical Cuban style pressed sandwich. This was more a settle and healthy approach using 2 slice sourdough, pork, ham, honey mustard and pickles. The flavor was there as a Cuban version but kinda of a unique way of presenting it. For dessert, I wanted to try the apple stuffed French toast but only order half which comes with 2 pieces instead of 4. On the menu, it stated it was stuffed but I only found 2 pieces of apple chunks so I wasn't able to taste the full effect. It was also garnished with fresh blueberries and a bottle of warm syrup. The French toast was mediocre. The home fries were also flavorless. The coffee was bitter. We ate at a cheap, popular national breakfast chain yesterday and found that to be more flavorful than this place. I wish this place well, but the next time I'm in VA, I'll be heading back to the cheap national breakfast chain.

The rooms are nothing fantastic, they feel very early 2000s which isn't bad but isn't great either. I feel the bathroom could use a remodel because the sink drains were clogged, and the bathroom felt very outdated. The room was spacious though with two queen beds, a chair and very cold A/C. It also had a nice tv in the room too. Beds also felt very comfortable which is nice for a hotel. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.
