    Veggie omelette

Made it here at around 1:35 pm and they close at 2. We went thru the exit door as I didn't realize there was another entrance...but hey they still welcomed us and we dined it. Food came out quick and we made it out by 2 pm. Had the veggie omelette - pretty good I mean it's an omelette the cheese was on top style but the 12 grain toast that went with it was very good and I ended up eating all the bread carbs be darned.

Delightful and such a great place! The decor is very country chick and crisp. Our waitress so efficient and fast! The kitchen produced some colorful and creative dishes with wonderful presentation. The blueberry banana and almond pancakes were amazing!! The bacon was cooked perfectly and not fatty at all! The eggs Benedict was creamy, flavorful and delicious. We ate everything! The cappuccino and lattes were creamy, had a touch of cinnamon and so good. This place is a win win!

Food was delicious! We went for brunch on. Sunday (around 10:30 and it's definitely packed (30min wait for 3 ppl). Worth the wait! We had a kids menu item, one breakfast and one lunch meal and all were delicious. The fries have some sort of batter on them which makes them crispy and flavorful.

We walked into a staff whirlwind. It's clear that they aren't used to being super busy. This was graduation weekend so I would like to give them some grace, but I think not being acknowledged by the hostess of manager while waiting to even put our name on the waitlist is a little crazy. After finally getting seated, we were served quickly by our waitress. The food was good we essentially got the same thing the perfect breakfast a kids combo which is the same thing with less meat. It's a platter of bacon, eggs, sausage, and two pancakes. The pancake are the perfect size for and our bacon was cooked perfectly like perfectly crispy. But it was awkward attempting to get a refill on water and before I could even say I wanted to order a different drink the waitress just brought the check and left it. Overall, the restaurant has a cute homey vibe with a nice outdoor eating space, which is where we ate, along with good food, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired.

Out of this world!! Most places have generic breakfast. Not this place! Everything was 10/10 taste and quality. Also the waitress was so sweet!

Stopped in to treat myself to a late breakfast and wanted to try something new in my area. The atmosphere is cute and welcoming without doing "too much". I sat at the bar which is not my usual preference, but the service was prompt and my server was friendly. I ordered The Perfect Combo which was $15.99. A bit on the pricy side for two eggs, two pieces of bacon and pancakes or French toast. I decided to ask for the raspberry French toast. I requested softly scrambled eggs with cheese and emphasized that I did not like eggs scrambled too hard and wanted to be sure the eggs were cracked eggs and not powdered eggs and was reassured. What came out was hard scrambled eggs that did not look like cracked eggs. To give her credit, the waitress asked if the eggs were ok because they looked harder than she expected as well. My issue was taken care of immediately and satisfactorily. Now my impression...the meal was ok, but not anything I would rush back to experience again. Once I received my bill, that confirmed it because the plate you see in the photo cost me $21.48 in the end. I would have appreciated knowing how much extra the mediocre raspberry French toast was going to cost me. To be honest, I was expecting some real raspberry filling in the French toast and it was just too much raspberry jelly or jam spread between two pieces of French toast...ok.

My wife likes the stuffed blueberry French toast usually but I ordered it today and it was horrible. The French toast was burnt and there was hardly no blueberry filling in it. What a disappointment that they would serve food that looked and tasted this bad. I have uploaded a photo below so you can see how burnt it was.

Second visit with friends. Service was nice. The brunch time was busy, but not full or overly hectic. Everyone was pleased with their meals.

Last week, my husband and I went to Homemade. He hadn't been there, and I bragged about how fantastic and big their sandwiches are. We ordered the Peppered Turkey with bacon, Brie, and apple, to split, which is the same sandwich that I ordered the last time I was there. My husband also ordered a ham steak side. When the sandwich came, it was literally half full of turkey meat, than what they'd served me before. So when it came to the table, I was a bit confused. My husband and I took a bite of the sandwich, but then I decided to stop, and bring it to the waitresses attention. Either I got much more meat than I was supposed to get the first time, or we got gypped this time. Looking at our sandwiches, the waitress definitely agreed that the photo I showed her of my sandwich on April 6, was what they are supposed to look like. She asked if we wanted them to make us another sandwich, or bring extra turkey meat, etc. We noted that it wasn't necessary for them to make us a whole other sandwich, but if they could bring us some extra turkey, that would be great. She brought us some extra turkey, apologized, and said that the guy who was working was filling in, and "rusty". Appreciated her making it right, and we showed our appreciation in a hefty tip. Once we added the extra turkey on top of the sandwich, it looked more like the sandwich I had on April 6. Even though they were inconsistent, they did make it right, and that's the most important part. The next morning, we went to Homemade again (second day in a row). We were seated immediately with no wait. They were busy, but not overly busy. This time we went for breakfast with my 14 year old stepdaughter. She ordered a half order of French toast, my husband ordered a coffee, and the "Perfect Combo" with 2 eggs (scrambled), 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, and 2 pancakes or French toast. He got the French toast "stuffed apple" for an up charge. I ordered a coffee, and a la carte, 2 eggs (medium) and a ham steak. We waited an hour for food...an hour. We saw the waitress we had the night before, but we had a different waitress this visit. Waitress checked on us zero times during that time period. Waitress refilled our coffee zero times during that time (when she came with our food after an hour, I had to ask for a refill even then, as she started to walk away). Waitress didn't take one minute out, to let us know that our food would be ready shortly...there was no communication whatsoever. When we received our food, we had everything except my eggs. Without me saying anything, she said, "...and I'll be right back with your eggs!" We all sit there waiting to eat. And we're still waiting, so I look back, and see her at the drink station filling up waters for a new table. Then she takes the waters to the new table, and proceeds to take their order. Meanwhile, it's been at least 5 minutes, and I'm still sitting there waiting with a slice of ham, and no eggs. Finally she comes back with my eggs...over easy. I ordered medium, but I'm already fed up with this restaurant. Not only did we sit waiting an hour for our food, with no refills on a $4 cup of coffee, but again, no consistency on what they're sending out of the kitchen. The first night, the ham steak was a true ham steak. The very next morning, the ham steak looked like they skinned the end off of a piece of the thinnest piece of ham they could find. I mean, considerable differences, and certainly not worth $5.49! The stuffed French toast was barely stuffed. Everything that we received was okay, but certainly not worth the prices, or anything to brag about. We will never go back to Homemade again. Super disappointed, because the first time was fantastic! The other two times proved that there are major inconsistencies in both food and service. If we're spending $55 on one breakfast with coffee, one half order of regular French toast (with no meat), nor a beverage, and 2 eggs and a paper thin "ham steak" and coffee, I expect a far better experience!

Dined here with my 2 best friends for breakfast on a Saturday and we waited for about 15 minutes; they are definitely a popular spot. Our server was very polite and gave great recommendations for coffee and food. We did have to remind her about water and straws but it was busy so not a huge issue but we're used to getting water for everyone when out to eat without asking. I ordered an iced coffee with caramel and almond milk and at first it was too milky and they offered to remake it (much appreciated) but I opted for a side of extra coffee and that was perfect. Everyone's food was delicious and we took none of our entrees home. I enjoyed my BLT and my fries were fresh and I tried the home fries and they were just as good so you can't go wrong either way. I also feel that you get an amazing value with the amount of food that you receive because my best friend got the fresh bacon sandwich, and she ordered an additional toasted English muffin and was able to make two sandwiches from the original (as it had 2 eggs and plentiful bacon). We were full, but then we saw the table beside us get the banana nut chocolate chip muffin and we had to ask about it. Luckily, we were able to order one of the last two left, and the staff was able to set it to the side and it was the perfect semi sweet top off to our brunch. Also, the restroom was clean as was the dining area. There were solo folks eating at the bar (I love the book wall) as well as couples and families so this is great for all ages. I'd definitely dine here again and will be recommending to others!

This is my absolute new favorite breakfast in Fredericksburg! My husband and I both enjoy eating breakfast out and as a result we really appreciate not only great food but also great service and atmosphere. Homemade delivers on all fronts. From the moment we walked in their door we were both struck by how detail oriented the restauran was. Having lived in the northeast we are aware of the importance of a good"air lock" entry. If you are unfamiliar with my description, this simply means you enter a door to a small area that then requires you to open another door into the restaurant. This small area blocks the hot summer air as well as the current frigid air from directly entering the dining space. How often have you been enjoying a hot meal only to suddenly be blasted by the doors opening. The air lock significantly decreases this from happening. I also suspect it helps both heating and cooling bills. The decor at Homemade is clean and modern - white shiplap, corrogated metal, warm wood, black trim. It feels as if Joanna and Chip Gaines from Fixer Upper and Ben and Erin Napier from Home Town joined together to influence the decor and style. Everything looks as if it was carefully placed for functionality as well as appearance. There are floor to ceiling bookshelves blocking a full view of the kitchen but still allowing guests to get a peek-a-boo view. The book bindings are turned to the kitchen making me wonder what kinds of books and titles were on the shelves (I know because I asked). Neatly stacked coffee mugs can be found on the front right side with the coffee pots. A tablet for the staff to enter food orders is situated so guests as well as the kitchen can be seen. The silverware is black! Service was outstanding from the moment we were seated. Coffee comes quickly in a large mug and steaming hot. The menu offers a very large assortment of options which should not find many having difficulty finding something they would be happy with. Our server was attentive but not in the way, wanted to be certain everything was prepared to our liking, and even offered a to go cup of coffee when we were ready to leave. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with 12 grain toast, sausage and fruit which i had substituted for the homefries (no charge for the substitution). EVERYTHING came out hot and perfectly cooked! The sausage were HUGE and you get three. The toast was a warm, golden brown, and buttered. The eggs, a perfect medium. My husband had a sausage and cheddar cheese omelette with the homefries and rye toast. He loved every single bite and was surprised by how big the omelette was. I tasted the homefries and had to agree with him - they are GOOD! My fruit was fresh! We now have been back several times and each time has been consistent and terrific. We have tried the pancakes (light and fluffy) and can recommend them. Next time we are going to grab an exceptionally large Homemade pistachio muffin. We will also be trying lunch. You may find Homemade is a bit more expensive than some of the other local breakfast places but my husband and I agree it is absolutley worth it!

Homemade just re entry opened up and I heard so many good things about the food that I just needed to try it out for myself. We'll let me start by saying it was a terrible cold and rainy day in Jan when we arrived Ed at 1:27pm (didn't know they closed at 2pm). With a 1 sleeping year old in tow we greeted with a smile and menus as the hostess seated us immediately. Our waitress Lisa, was the sweetest woman ever. We ordered our food Me- crab omelette w/egg white, fried potato's and English muffin, Him banana nut pancakes with eggs and bacon. The food came out hot and fast! Let me tell you everything was delicious... when they say homemade, they mean home made. I felt like I was eating a Sunday after church brunch. My omelet was absolutely delicious and I tasted my husbands pancakes and they taste like butter cakes...no the bacon was spectacular.., it didn't taste like there was a lick of Salt on the bacon. We just finished eating when the little Boss woke up with an appetite. We fed him bacon, crab omelette and pancakes and he gobbled everything up followed by a cup of OJ yo wash it down . I asked if I could order a side of bacon since he loved it so much and the waitress said no problem. Let me tell them to put a side on. I sipped my tea as we waited. The bacon arrived we paid our bill, laughed with the staff and left. Once I was seated in the car we realized it was 2:40pm and Homemade had been closed for 40mins and at no time did anyone rush us. In fact, they encouraged us to take our time to feed my son and still made additional food. What a great staff!!! I can't wait to return to my new neighborhood breakfast place

I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.
