This place is an iconic place in Fredericksburg and I have lived here my whole life but this is the first time I have tried it. I called in an order to pick up and I ordered two steak and cheese subs with two orders of fries. I tried to order pumpkin pancakes but they said they only serve them every other weekend, which is odd but that is what they do. The inside is small but has the feel of a historical place here in Fredericksburg. The staff was friendly and knew what I was coming in to pick up.The steak and cheese is tasty. We will come back and try other food.

I visited 2400 Diner as a part of a group of 4. We seated ourselves and pulled a couple of menus off the front counter to assist the single waitress covering all the tables. Despite being busy, she was cheerful, served with a smile and had a polite attitude as she bounced from table to table. The diner itself is small and there are steps to access it, something you need to be aware of if you have mobility challenges. Additionally, the narrow isles inside make it difficult to navigate a wheelchair, especially when trying to go to the restroom. Although a small diner, it was clean, well maintained and there was a steady stream of customers coming and going, speaking to its popularity. My meal started off with their homemade strawberry milkshake and the homemade soup of the day (clam chowder,) The soup was very good. The milkshake was just ok and left something to be desired. The milkshake was almost liquefied and although I was told it had real strawberries in it, I could not find them. It just didn't have that homemade taste. My main entrée was the seafood combination platter. If you come hungry, that is the meal that you want to order. It came with a crab cake, some fish, some scallops, some clams, and shrimp. On top of that you get your choice of soup or salad and you also get to order an additional vegetable along with getting either mashed potatoes or baked potato Or french fries. To top it all off this meal will cost you under 20 bucks. The meal was good for the price but tasted a bit out of the box for me. I did enjoy the fish, clams and potato that were in the meal but the remaining items "for me" were on par with the price but not that great.

Local gem! If you live in the area, you know of 2400 Diner's reputation. Absolutely delicious food, friendly environment, and reasonable priced food. Every time I've eaten here, I always leave feeling like I had home cooked meal and completely satisfied. Please support this longtime (70 years) family owned diner!

Absolutely phenomenal establishment with amazing service, food and old school vibe. We were sat immediately, and when our breakfast was brought out, she brought all the condiments we needed. Now that is service!! It is nice not having to ask for this and that. I rarely do 5 stars, but this one definitely deserves it. If we are ever back in Fredericksburg. we will definitely come back here! And the price was great, 2 ppl for $22, how do you beat that?

I grew up eating at the 2400 Diner. It was always my mom's go to for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Not only is the family feel and nostalgia amazing... but the food is full of comfort. I ordered the grilled cheese today. Yes a grilled cheese! But to be honest I'm very particular about my grilled cheese sandwhiches and it's my FAVORITE. I've carried on the tradition and this is now my son's favorite as well. My Mom ordered the scrapple with 2 eggs and the breakfast special which was the apple and caramel french toast. The french toast was pretty soggy from the caramel sauce but it still had great flavor. The service is always amazing... if you are looking for affordable, quick, and comforting, I 10/10 recommend.

Dined at 2400 Diner on Princess Anne Street, for the first time today. Place is small, but clean and cozy. Parking is limited. There was about a 40 minute wait for seating. I ordered the short stack of pancakes and a coffee. My husband ordered a Western omelet and added sausage, bacon, ham, cheddar cheese and an extra egg to his omelet. He got home fries and toast with strawberry jam on the side, along with a coffee. Food was delicious and fresh! The pancakes were huge; we shared with each other and I was a big fan of his omelet especially! The service was top notch. We will most definitely return. This is a Fredericksburg gem.

I love dipping my onion rings in Ranch, so I tend to ask for a side of Ranch when ordering onion rings

Cute old-timey interior. Got a gyro sandwich and it was delicious. Service was fast even though it was busy inside.

Very friendly staff and a cozy sitting area. We sat at the bar and split biscuits and gravy and…read moresausage hash brown bowl. Honestly, that was more than enough good. It was pretty much what you'd expect, filling and decent enough.

It is not a trip driving on I-95 S to Hampton Roads without a stop at Waffle House…read more I'll give this Waffle House five stars for hospitality, because the staff was extremely nice. One of the waiters even performed a quick magic trick while we waited for our food. However, the food wasn't as tasty as other Waffle Houses that I've visited. I went with my standard All Star Breakfast which comes with a waffle, eggs, toast, a choice of a meat, and a choice of grits or hashbrowns. I was a little annoyed that my waffle arrived close to 5 minutes before the rest of the food. Ok, maybe it's a me thing. But, I have a particular way of eating my food, so I "couldn't" start eating my waffle until the rest of the food arrived. So by the time the rest of food arrived my waffle was pretty cold. I was this || to sending the waffle back, and requesting that a new waffle come out at the same time as the other components of the meal. But, I didn't make too much of a fuss. I think that the kitchen might have made a waffle that wasn't needed, and the waitress gave it to me so I could get started. Also, the waffle was flatter than previous waffles. The restaurant and rest room were pretty clean - pretty good for a Waffle House. The prices were pretty standard compared to other Waffle Houses. Be a bit cautious driving through the parking lot, because there were quite a few potholes. Also, this location only does to-go orders from 11pm to 6am (as of Jan 2025). Since there are plenty of Waffle Housed along I-95, perhaps I'll visit another one in the near future.
