Never been to Waffle House and last time I was in North Carolina, I passed on it...First one we went to was packed, thankfully, the next one we went to was not as crowded. Never been as mentioned and thought chicken and waffles was on the menu...That was not the case which was a let down for me. The food is more fast food diner than legit diner food. It was good but not great. Waffles are made fresh but soggy a little. Hash browns were orders with onions and it was good but did not have enough onions. Sausage was dry and not fresh. Coffee though was surprisingly good. Service was good but the food did not match which was too bad. Ambiance was close to cooking area but this place seemed unkept and needed a deep cleaning. Would I come here again. Yeah I would but only if I need something quick and easy at a reasonable price. Last Stop.... The Waffle House!!!!!! Yay!!! After a long drive, I spotted a Waffle House & as usual I had to stop and get me food from there since this isn't local and easily accessible to me. I've never been to a Fredericksburg location (not an area I'm use to). I did a To-Go to order since my time was limited. Let me say the staff here is AMAZING!!!!! I love their customer service and energy is A1! The entire staff was great! I wanna highlight ELNORA, she's beyond WONDERFUL! I love her Vibe, Attitude, Smile & Spirits. Her attention to details and my specifications on my order was executed in such a unique and fun way! She did everything in her power to make sure my order was done correctly. As I have mentioned in several previous reviews, we are Waffle House regulars,so I can compare this Waffle House to the others we have tried. This one gets placed in my collection of "Want to Return". In spite of being very busy (obviously a local favorite), service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food was typical Waffle House fare, prepared well. I was traveling through Virginia and wanted to have breakfast at a Waffle House since I haven't been to one in years. We entered the diner and sat at the only available table. Unfortunately, we didn't sit down for long because we noticed a substantial amount of food under our table. We asked our waitress if someone could sweep under our table, so we were not stepping on food. Ten minutes later, someone came to address the situation. It came with toast and hash browns as well, and for under $10, why not? I ordered my steak medium rare, but it's a pretty thin cut of meat, so it came out a little over done. It needed a bit of salt to help it along, but still, a pretty flavorful cut of meat. Fairly tender too. I had ordered wheat toast, and they brought white, but before I could even say anything, they brought an order of wheat toast too! Bingo! Bonus toast! My wife's food was pretty decent she said. Came on a Saturday evening. Decided to check it out with my toddler. Place was nice and quiet. Had a few people in the restaurant. The service wasn't the best. But the employees were extremely friendly. I ordered 1 waffle and bacon with a side of egg for my little on. I ordered a waffle with bacon and eggs sunny side up. They made a fresh cup of decaf coffee for me! Everything was extremely fresh! The waffles were amazing. It was soft and sweet. They gave you a butter and jelly on the side. This location, in Stafford County, is the closest to home for me, and gives the best service of the 3 nearby locations. I invariably order the All Star, as it is the most encompassing meal. The hash browns were done exactly as expected, and the eggs are alwas consistent. The meal always comes out suprisingly fast, even during rush times.
