We came by on a Monday night and was surprised it was pretty empty inside. We were seated right away and brought our drinks. We ordered Southern nachos which was fries with chicken pickles and sauce. It was good. For dinner we ordered southern chicken strip platter served with sausage gravy and slaw, fish and chips served with fries and slaw, slap yo moons burger served with bbq chips and GOAT burger with bbq chips. We all really enjoyed our dinners as they were nice portions and tasty. The restaurant is small and pretty clean. We did fight with a fly around us for a bit. Over all a fun spot for dinner.
Stopped here on our way to Mt Vernon for an early breakfast. Large parking lot right next-door. This is a great place with amazing service!! We both ordered the chicken & biscuit with gravy and it may have been the best chicken we've ever had!! The biscuit was also delicious and the gravy well it made the meal!! We sat inside since it was early but there's a spacious outdoor patio. Jessica our server was so sweet and efficient. Highly recommend!!
Had a wait time of ~10 mins. Has outdoor and indoor seating. Limited parking spot but lots on the street. Portion sizes are super large. Food- 7.5/10 for me initially as I had the jersey cheesesteak and there was too much salt. Our waiter was super sweet and had a different one made for me. 9/10 Decent brunch spot. Can get super noisy inside if lots of people.
I say the small quaint restaurants you get best food and service! We sat outside but the inside appeared to be clean full service bar as well! Everything we ordered was delicious! 10/10 recon
The shrimp & grits are fabulous!!! I popped into Mason-Dixon on Labor Day and it was packed! This restaurant must be beloved locally. Luckily, I did some research beforehand, so I knew to join the online waitlist before I left to head there (&probably should have joined even earlier than that!). The wait ended up being about an hour and you can check your number on the waitlist, which helped everyone manage their expectations. Eventually, I was sat at the bar. I ordered a coffee and the shrimp & grits, and later ordered biscuits & gravy to go. Coffee came out quickly but the food took over a half hour. Service at the bar was not good. She never checked in, never offered to refill my coffee or give me water. I always had to wave her down. The lady next to me never received her orange juice either. The food was amazing though, so I see why people love this place. Since I was sitting at the bar that directly looks into the kitchen, I could see how fast and hard the kitchen staff worked. When there were any issues, they immediately worked to rectify it. The shrinp & grits are delicious and unique. I've never had one where it was more soupy with so much sauce. The flavors were amazing. I will dream of this dish lol. Overall, I would totally come back again if I'm in the area!!

The loaded Brussels were perfectly crunchy and I loved the feta and balsamic topping. The food servings were huge for the sandwiches - I really liked the Jive Turkey for a thanksgiving vibe. It was messy though!! Enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich too, even better the second day as leftovers! Looking forward to trying more of their expansive menu :)

You can't compare this gem to any other place in Fredericksburg. Everything on the menu is delicious and even the vegan. Cocktails are crafted by season and hats off to team for fast service! Nothing fancy about the ambiance but get there early because there is always a waitlist.
Food is always fantastic here. I got a buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato tots. There are so many options on the menu. Only negative is this spot it generally packed during lunch. The inside is a little bit compact so sit outside if you have the choice! Food and service is always great. Ask for the garlic buffalo sauce!
We came back here for breakfast since we were in the area. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with home fries. My daughter ordered the Veggie sandwich. My the southern breakfast sandwich. The staff is still friendly and very patient on waiting on taking our order. This has become an iconic place in Fredericksburg to eat and usually stays crowded. The coffee here is pretty good. The prices are reasonable for the area. The portion sizes are good. All the food was very tasty. The home has a lot of flavor to them. Still this place does not disappoint.
They're dead serious when they say their pancakes are huge LOL.. Love this place for breakfast whenever I visit FBurg. Their menu is really really big, I'm sure you'll find something that you like
Visiting VA for a few weeks. We stop by for breakfast on a Sunday after the gym. We had to wait 40 mins or so but at the end it was worth it. Very good food. Service was great/ very humble and home cooking feeling. I Will definitely come back. Please not they close at 2pm on Sundays...Again, the ambience comfy... relaxed
Excellent meal at this charming diner on a recent visit to Fredericksburg. It's a breakfast-all-day kind of place - hurrah! So, my friend and I decided to share a veggie omelet & a black bean & corn veggie burger. Both were excellent, though the burger was our fave. The burger had such a flavorful chipotle mayo (not spicy); it really complimented the blend of corn and black beans with some guac. Yum! The omelet was quite good, too. The incredible selection of veggies were well-cooked and plentiful - asparagus, red pepper, squash, zucchini, red onion, all tucked into fluffy eggs topped with melted provolone. Yum! I was visiting the area, my cousin suggested we try this place. The parking lot is small, tables outside to dine at if you choose to do so. When you walk in there's a counter and stools, not many tables, the place is small and needs a little updating. It was Father's Day and the wait was long. Our waitress was great, knowledgeable of the menu, made good recommendations. I had the shrimp and grits which was good but too spicy for me. Steak and eggs were good, not tough at all. Came here after seeing it #1 for breakfast in Fredericksburg. Great parking lot off the side street. Ordered a coffee to sip on to start. Brody had a game soon so he got the Keto breakfast platter and I got the carnitas omelette. This place looks great! Can't wait for my meal My meal was okay. The carnitas in my omelet was tasteless and they loaded it with jarred jalapeños. I asked for red salsa and I was thankful that I did. Brody seemed to enjoy his meal. read more

We were told there'd be a 45-minute wait, and it was absolutely worth it. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was incredible--fluffy French toast with perfectly seasoned potatoes, and rich, flavorful Eggs Benedict that were beautifully presented. Everything was cooked to perfection. We first walked in with our service dog, that had been in the car for 12 hours all the way from South Florida, she doesn't like to eat in the car, and our hotel was t ready just yet, so she was hungry. Upon walking in 2 employees gave me a very unpleasant stair down as I walked in (not sure if they realized how unwelcoming their faces were). When I asked for a table out of the way because I need more room, the very first thing they asked me was that a service dog, I said yes, and they looked at each other with a puzzling look which I didn't understand before one lady walked to look for a table. Now, my dog is a hypoallergenic, non shedding golden doodle... she was sitting on the floor next to me, and smelling all the smells and excited to be out of the car. You can be a service dog and still be normal and smelling food, and walking around your handler with excitement to be out of the car. It took her about 5 minutes to relax and lay on the ground next to me. I would like for the staff to be more aware of their faces towards people with service animals. Now the food. On my 12 hour drive, my have a lot of time on my hands while my husband drove. So tic tok to the rescue for places to eat. Well... tic tok let me down big time. I ordered the shrimp and grits. For $19 I was extremely disappointed. Being a Florida girl, I didn't know you can mess up shrimp and grits. The sauce for the grits was so overpowering, I found little to no grits and it was like a soup, way too watery. I asked for a side of grits to try to make it palatable. Didn't work. The coffee I ordered was decaf, not sure if it had been sitting long but it was so bitter I couldn't drink it. My husband chicken soup had zero noodles and poutine was average (and he is generally very fair with his reviews as he was a general manager). I do not recommend this place unfortunately. We only ate because we were starving (and saving our appetite because the tic tok video said it was so good). As a family that travels A LOT, we encounter lots of eating establishments, this is my opinion, save your money because they are also overpriced for what you get, the flavor and food quality. read more

What a find this place was! I'm visiting from Arizona and my brother told me he always wanted to try this place, but every time he passed by, there was a long line. Well that was telling! I had to try this place now! I came the first time alone on a weekday while he was visiting Germany with his wife. I looked at the menu and the breakfast items looked scrumptious. It was about 11:30; so I opted for lunch. I ordered the popular Smack yo Momma burger which had Mac and cheese on it. It was cooked a perfect medium and it was the best tasting burger I had in quite some time! In fact, I had a similar burger elsewhere and I couldn't taste the Mac n cheese. Here I could. It complimented the burger well. I was just a tad disappointed with the fries though. It could've been cooked a little longer. I told my brother about my experience after he returned home! So I made another trip accompanied by him! My brother of course had to order a burger after he learned of my experience. I ordered fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy. Sautéed veggies were included. My brother loved loved loved his burger! He had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. He said he finally found a place he can grab a decent burger because he just doesn't frequent restaurants much. His wife is a great cook and she cooks "healthy" meals. This will be his new 'Cheat Day' place! Lol! My pork chop dish exceeded my expectations! It was lightly breaded, juicy, and flavorful. The gravy both the sausage and brown were delicious! I left nothing on the plate! Whoever they have as chefs/cooks, keep them! They know what they're doing back in the kitchen! Food was amazing the breakfast club was delicious highly recommend. It does get messy though. The grits are very good as well so cheesy but not too cheesy. The Buffalo sand which was delicious as well and messy but sooo good. Not a fan of the gravy (not pictured) it was good just creamy and cheesy not my cup of tea but it might be yours. Service was awesome everyone was so nice. Highly recommend this place! read more

Friendly service, really like that the music wasn't very loud too. I had a half stack of pancakes and some of their bbq bacon. Loved the cardamom butter and the bbq bacon flavor (they also cooked the bacon well). read more

The food was good however, the gravy biscuit is not southern gravy was over spic'y. The biscuit is huge and delicious. Bacon was good and cooked as ordered. At 0930 on Friday there was a waiting line. Small tables metal seats. The waitress was friendly and took good care of me. Except when I my glass was empty she came back with a to go drink and the bill, making me feel rushed. The cost of my meal was $16.95 as the the soda was $3.49. read more
