Do not recommend Fredericksburg cupcake. The cupcakes were dry and made with whole grain flour. They had almost a sour like taste. Prices would be reasonable for a cupcake shop but not for the quality received. Staff was nice. Appeared to be minimal different between cupcakes except the toppings. Overall, would not recommend or return. Accessibility: stairs to enter read more

We tried a few cupcakes while traveling through. They were pricy, honestly! Also, I thought they were a bit dry for my liking but they were beautifully decorated. read more

Great cupcakes! The frosting was the kind I dream of and miss with stupid store bought cakes. Highly recommend.

YUM! We Stopped in during our trip to Fredericksburg for something sweet after our lunch, and we are so glad we did. Their red velvet cupcake was probably the best I have ever had. The icing on it tasted like delicious cream cheese, and the cupcake itself was moist! read more

Food (4/5): We wandered over here on Friday night and wanted to try something sweet, so we got take out and tried the mint cupcake and the chocolate chip cookie dough. I forgot to take pics of these! The chocolate cupcake was ok, but the mint frosting was really delicious. The cookie dough was served room temperature, and was an edible "raw" - safe to eat cookie. It was a cloyingly sweet, so I could only eat a few bites at a time, but overall it was pretty good. Atmosphere/COVID-19 cleanliness (5/5): It seemed clean in this cute little shop, right on the corner of the main street in an old historic building. There were a couple tables inside, but it looks like most people were doing take out. Service (5/5): The folks behind the counter were nice enough. read more

Had always seen this place in town and wanted to try it. I was greeted when I walked in - and they had a pretty good selection to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised to see Gluten Free options also. I got red velvet, gluten free chocolate, and a strawberry cupcake. Imo - the prices are a bit expensive. After actually tasting the cupcakes, I was not blown away by any of the flavors. The cake itself was not as moist as I prefer and lacked flavor; but the icing seemed to be the saving grace. Overall would not return as there are other places to get better cupcakes in the area in my opinion. read more

I finally got a chance to check this place out. Very welcoming upon entering and smells wonderful. Sorry I don't remember the lady who helped me but she was very sweet. I ordered 1 lemon, 1 Guinness, 1 carrot cake and 1 chocolate cupcake. The lemon was the absolute best. I would definitely return to try other flavors. read more

What's not good about a local cupcake bakery. FXBG is a fantastic local boutique cupcake house that never fails to impress. We've been there for a tasty treat more times than I care to admit. In fact my wife and I regularly resist eating there because we don't want to over indulge. If you are in the FXBG area and looking for dessert or just a sweet treat you have to try Fredricksburg Cupcake. read more

I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am. First, if you notice the pre-cut holes in the box makes counting to 12 simple, yet some how I was still failed. That's right! I paid way to much money for 11 cupcakes. $36.00 a dozen +tax, tip, & delivery fee =$60.00 Why would someone pay $60.00 for a dozen cupcakes? My son! It was his 19th birthday. It's been a craptastic kinda year. Covid has crushed his senior year, any social life, and moral in general. When he requested strawberry cake for his birthday I jumped at the ability to buy local. I think either the Grubhub driver was hungry or this is the new common core math. The cupcakes themselves were less than impressive. Very dense and flavorless. read more

Fredericksburg Cupcake - How do you miscount with a precut hole? - Cupcakes Near Me - Fredericksburg, Virginia

Fredericksburg Cupcakes Something flavorful , something fruity , and something classic . The two cupcakes that I tasted were the carrot cake and the lemon. The acidity and the actual lemon flavor was on point and it was very balanced. The carrot cake was not as perfect and that cream cheese frosting was too sour. I don't know what their ratio between the sour cream and or cream cheese , but it was too sour. These are just some of the things that these cupcakes offered. Not only are these cakes full of flavor, they are also local so to have moist cakes delivered to you, you are also supporting local. read more

We went downtown Fredericksburg to support small business Saturday and wanted to try the newest addition Fredericksburg Cupcakes. Great location slightly off the main road and they really did a great job on the remodel. I had Lemon Cupcake and I split the chocolate chip cookie dough with my daughter which she enjoyed more than her cupcake. Overall cupcake and cookie dough were delicious. I took one star for cost. I think $3.75 is a little pricey for a cupcake but that's just my opinion. Employee who helped us was great. A great addition to downtown. 1/27 Had to take away a star because we made a special trip downtown on a Saturday and at 5:30 pm and they were all out of cupcakes, not one. I guess business is good but that's also bad for business. I assume cupcakes are made in house not sure why no one made anymore or once their out they are out. read more

As a cupcake connoisseur and a baker, I'm highly critical of cupcakes. The store front is cute but not really noticable. Inside is very cozy. I ordered a vanilla bean cupcake and the strawberry cupcake. I'm not sure why a blueberry was placed on top of the vanilla cupcake. The icing was super sweet to the point it was over powering. The cupcake itself was dense and not fluffy. It just made the 2 inch mark on height. Strawberry cupcake: the icing was on point. The cake...so disappointed. There was no strawberry flavor what so ever. Although, you could see small specks of strawberry, it still lacked that flavor. Again the cake was dense. Overall, the cupcakes could have been better with more flavor and fluffiness especially for the price that I paid. read more

The customer service was great. I got a palm sized vegan cupcake that was bland and had no icing. The topping was a dollop of raspberry jelly and powdered sugar, with cocoa powder. I literally chocked on the powder. My friend got a red velvet cupcake which he loved though! The cupcakes are also terribly priced. I paid 4.21 for a SINGLE cupcake. read more

Completely disappointed. I feel like I wasted $10. I purchased a chocolate chip cookie dough, a red velvet and strawberry cupcake. So the cookie dough was good. I finished that pretty quickly. Those cupcakes... The icing on the red velvet was amazing, but that was it. The cupcake itself was super dense. I only got in about 2 bites before I tossed it. The strawberry one was not good at all. The best way for me to describe the cake is moist cornbread with pieces of corn inside of it. The icing was ok, it just did not go well with the cake. read more

I am a cupcake snob, self professed. I bake, myself, so that's why i have such high standards. I have been here a few times, every time i eat at Foode i always walk over for a cupcake. This is partially because I'm boycotting Foode desserts because their chocolate chip cookies and milk has no soy or almond milk option! I have had the cookie dough, the red velvet cupcake and now the banana hazelnut. I typically am all about red velvet. Their red velvet was fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the banana hazelnut blew my mind. Often times when people attempt a banana cake it comes out like banana bread, or banana muffins. I'm not sure what they did differently but it was light and fluffy. IT WAS THE PERFECT CUPCAKE. read more

They have a consistent history of favorable reviews so imagine my disappointment when I walked in and the staff was not wearing masks. This is the first establishment I've gone into post re-opening that has made no stipulations to lessen the chances of infection so I left. I don't think wearing masks while serving food in a very confined space (the customer space is small) is an unreasonable expectation. I initially attempted to call my order in advance for pick-up however the young person on the phone insisted I come in and order in the traditional fashion. read more

Parking: A gamble. You have street parking out front or a public lot a few blocks away. Cupcakes: the cake part, a little on the dry side, which i didn't necessarily mind. The icing depending on the specific cupcake, can be obnoxious. I didn't like the peanut butter or strawberry, they were a little over the top. I am on a peanut butter fix right now, so that was kind of disappointing. The cupcakes last about 1-2 days so move out quickly on them. Pricing: Honestly, it's a little confusing. I walked out the door with a dozen for $41. You can do the math on price per unit. I honestly was expecting about $20 so I was a little surprised. I guess I don't do cupcake math well in public. Customer service: I could barely hear the clerk because the music was a little loud. I had to ask for clarification a few times which I think addled her. Sorry, just turn down your music. Are you selling cupcakes or iTunes? Pretty simple. My recommendation is give to them a try, you may like them. I will probably just hit up Sugar Shack or Duck Donuts for my sweet tooth fix. read more

This bakery came up in a search as I had a taste for something sweet. Everything looked delicious, and the staff was pleasant. I tried the peanut butter and jelly, and my partner the strawberry. The strawberry icing had an after taste that wasn't what we were expecting. The peanut butter icing was nice, but the cake of my cupcake was hard. I did not finish, but I am still willing to give it another try! read more

I absolutely love supporting local businesses, especially in Fredericksburg. However, the service here is just unfriendly. The best part about a small town are the friendly faces behind the businesses. However the service here is slow - often having to wait for someone to even notice that you've come in. Stopped in to try this cute new place and wasn't disappointed! We ordered red velvet and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and they were fluffy delights. They also have cups of cookie dough - so fun. They are brand new - 2 weeks old - and it seems like they are still getting settled. Not a lot of seating and there wasn't any music, but it's still a very cute shop and the cakes were good, so we will be spreading the good word for this one. read more

Cute little cupcakery nestled into one of the side streets in old town Fredericksburg. The shop is small, but it isn't cluttered with a bunch of random stuff, which is nice. You have to pay attention though or else you will walk right past it. When I walked in I was greeted immediately. The woman behind the register was very polite and very friendly. They have a decent selection of basic cupcakes. There wasn't anything mind-blowing or particularly different. I decided on the vanilla cupcake with a cocoa frosting. It was good. The cupcake was light and airy and the frosting was the same. The cost was a little high, I paid 4 something for one cupcake. It's a little extreme for a basic selection. It was nice to try but I probably won't be returning. read more
