Not sure how I hadn't visited Casey's yet but so glad I finally tried it. I visited with two others on a Sunday morning and had a short wait. I opted for the Loaded Omelette and it did not disappoint. Their home fries were also very good. The only thing I'll warn about is that the plate doesn't come with any toast, so you have to order it on the side. Also, their bread (Italian, I think) was super fresh and buttery. Just delicious. As for coffees, they have a fancy Italian coffee machine, so don't worry if you're a coffee snob. Casey's has you! Overall, I loved that Casey's had friendly staff, good food, and is a neighborhood restaurant. I'll definitely be back! Street parking available.
Yet another happy Yelp find! Our group of 8 was looking for a spot for brunch on a Sunday and Casey's came up on Yelp. We headed over and were seated right away in the dining room. I liked the vibe of the bar and dining area - it was cozy and a little old-school but clean. Our server was really attentive and polite. The menu had something for everyone but leaned a bit on the heavier side. There's bloody marys and mimosas as well as brunch shots if you need a little hair of the dog. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and the Arlington veggie omelette. Nate got the rise and shine breakfast sammie that has bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese. I was intrigued by the "ice cream for breakfast" dish - French toast that comes topped with vanilla ice cream...! I've definitely never seen that on a brunch menu before. All our food came out pretty quickly and everything looked amazing. The chicken and biscuit looked really good and was presented nicely. My omelette needed a little salt, but it was a healthy portion and the potatoes were some of the best I've ever had - super crispy and seasoned well. My iced latte was sweet and tasted like chocolate milk even though I didn't request any flavoring - I really liked it, but if you prefer a less sweet latte, let them know. Nate and I split our two meals, and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. A classic breakfast item done really well. The toast wasn't dry and it was easy to eat. I loved it! And it came with those amazing breakfast potatoes. According to the menu, there's free parking on weekends in a nearby lot, but we found a spot on the street. I was surprised at how empty this place was, but I know the truth - Casey's is the spot for brunch in Fredericksburg!

I didn't want to go to our usual places so google helped me find Casey's - and let me tell you google didn't disappoint!!! I called the day before to make sure they were open for Easter Sunday and ended up making a reservation first thing in the morning (9 am). We walked in not really knowing what to expect - we were greeted by David (i believe he's the manager) and we're seated right away. John (bartender) assisted David in helping us. Chef Michelle (hope I spelled it right) also came out and greeted us - and every server and host that went by us greeted us. I say this because I am a peoples person and when I see environment like this I know that everyone there is happy, which in turn makes me very happy. In that moment I also had zero doubt in my mind about the food. And Casey's for sure did not disappoint. We started with their biscuit plate - which comes with three homemade biscuits drizzled with honey - and come with jam and Brie cheese. It was mouth watering (and I am not even a biscuit person!!!). My order: non-alcoholic drink called temperance and I loved it! And I got the Arlington omelette (vegetarian) - very fluffy and delish! Husband's order: Black coffee and Sleeping beauty (recommended by David) - husband is a coffee fiend so he absolutely loved the coffee and his food! Friend with us: Black coffee and Loaded omelette - and he also became a fan of this place. Needless to say we will be back for sure to try other things on the menu both for breakfast and lunch!!! Thank you guys for not disappointing :) And did I mention they are only 1 year old!!!
This is a nice space. We were greeted and seated right away. I got the biscuits and gravy. It was tasty but the stars of the show were the delish bacon (didn't know I got bacon with it - guess I should pay attention) and the potatoes (oh so crisp and good). The eggs were perfectly over easy as well. Oh, and about the mimosa. It was delish. You can pick from several juices. I picked cranberry. *They have a deal where you can get a mason jar full of mimosa, with each additional mimosa exactly like the one I got. What does that mean? If you plan to drink at least 2 mimosas, get this deal. You'll get so much more. I didn't want to drink more than one cuz I'm a lightweight and didn't wanna be tipsy. Yeah, I know. Weak. So, if you're in the area like I was (biking the trail), stop on by. You'll be happy you did.
This was quite possibly the worst breakfast food I have ever had. I was surprised that this restaurant has high of ratings as it does. We ordered the cinnamon roll special which was bananas foster and the eggs Benedict. Both tasted as if they had been made a long time ago, stale, old, and then rewarmed to lukewarm temperature in the microwave. The home fries tasted like old grease. I really think people would be better off eating at home. We left very disappointed. The restaurant was dirty and not well kept. Plates (as seen in the picture) were chipped/damaged. We told our waitress about the poor food experience as we left just for feedback and her response was "well I didn't have anything to do with making it." To avoid wasting $30 of poor food, avoid this restaurant.
Our first time going to Casey's in Fredericksburg, and it will not be our last! We started off with the Rock shrimp, which was lightly dredged in a tempura sauce, sweet chili mayo, candied walnuts and scallions. We also had the Fried Brussels, with pepita seeds, ricotta salata, chinese black vinegar and honey. Our first bites were in unison...in awe of being delightfully pleasing (both appetizers). The brussel sprouts in particular, were a pleasant surprise. For our entrees, my husband ordered the Trout off the Grill: Skin on rainbow trout atop a stir fry of jasmine rice, mushrooms, onions and carrots and finished with a salsa verde. He enjoyed his meal, but said that next time, he'll probably go with something different, even though everything was cooked perfectly. I had the Smoked scallops: pan roasted scallops on top of Israeli cous cous, mushrooms, tomato, bacon and parmesan cheese. Holy smokes!! They were the most succulent scallops that I've ever had...literally melt in your mouth. The cous cous was equally amazing. My mouth was in heaven, savoring every bite. And because it was a cheat night, we ordered a chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream to share. Amazing! Food was excellent, as was service. It's a bit pricey, so we probably will just come for special occasions. But we also went all out with 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 unsweetened iced teas and a dessert to share. So glad that we gave Casey's a try.
This is a nice brunch spot with huge servings. We had the duck wings, sleeping beauty and the roast pasta. The wings were really good tender and had plenty of flavor. The sleeping beauty was a huge portion the gravy was delish it was a meal to come back for. The pasta however was lacking that wow factor it was just bland I would not come back for that. I got the mimosa which was advertised to come in a mason jar, but instead it came in a regular glass full of ice and not much bubbly. Our server was really slow it took 20 minutes to get drinks and for her to take our order she wasn't very personable. I would try this spot again but go differently with the drink and the pasta option.
My boyfriend took me out somewhere new for brunch and we are so happy to have found this gem in downtown Fredericksburg!! Great drinks, great food, and a great atmosphere to come and enjoy. The service was exceptional along with the quaint outdoor seating available with umbrellas. They use local butchers for their ground beef and have a delicious homemade hollandaise sauce for eggs Benedict lovers. The bar manager also has a plethora of knowledge about the menu and creates his own house cocktails! Weekend brunches offer $2 refills. Highly recommend for a fun date spot!

Met a couple of friends at Casey's. We had no problem getting a seat, even though it was pretty full in the restaurant. We had booked through OpenTable and we had no issues. The menu was rather limited but it certainly had enough options for everyone. Oddly enough we all picked the same entree, braised short ribs and grits - "short ribs, peppers, onions, over hickory smoked grits". There was definitely beef and grits but not quite as it was described. I was disappointed. The beef lacked flavor and there wasn't a pepper in the dish but green onions were snipped and served on top in an attempt to make the dish look more appealing. As a general rule, grits should always be served creamy and hot. These came out slightly lumpy and cold. I wish I could write that I enjoyed this but I didn't even finish it. The best thing about this meal was our server and the fried Oreos (think fried funnel battered dip Oreos because that's exactly what it is). It may be best to stick to traditional breakfast options like eggs and bacon.
If you don't have a reservation you'll be sat in the bar. Food was unflavored; even with the staffs hair in it. Much better brunches in Fxbg. Waste of a $100 meal.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at Casey's. We were happy we had a reservation as the line to be seated was long. The restaurant is open with wide aisles. Despite being busy, it was still easy to converse. Casey's has all of the brunch standards as well as a craft and brunch cocktail menu. I enjoyed the Casey's Sangria - a whites sangria made with Prosecco. The shrimp and grits was delicious. The smoked grits were prepared to perfection. My companion thought the sausage grave was wonderful. Unfortunately the service did not match the food and ambiance. I we had to request coffee refills, had to remove d the server that I ordered sangria, and they looked perplexed when they realized our food had been served. The server seemed far more interested in replenishing the server station than serving guests. Watching the other staff I think the poor service was unique to our server. The host was on top of things which is important when tables are in demand. read more

Awesome place to eat! Hey how is not everyone but it's perfect for me. I like the vibe, food is good but he service is "TOP NOTCH" I went to because the reviews were 4+ and when you see that "I need to try it this place" People food is food and cooked correctly makes it better but when you add service to good food it becomes a great place and a experience. I'm not a type to write reviews but this place deserves it. Server heard that it was my wife birthday weekend, and brought us a glass of champagne for both of us and on top of that the staff signed a birthday card for my wife as well. Freaking awesome! Thanks for a great experience, definitely coming back! read more

This was a lovely place and I would recommend it for breakfast or brunch. We made a reservation online at 9 o'clock on a Sunday. We were seated within just a few minutes of arriving. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The decor was nice. The coffee was very good. I ordered an omelette and it was yummy. The potatoes were large chunks, fried. Sausage and bacon were good. The biscuits were good. All around a solid experience. read more

We loved our experience at Casey's! The wait staff was awesome and friendly. And the food was great! I had the Waffle Plate and I really enjoyed it. I like that it wasn't a cheap tasting waffle, it was unique, almost cinnamony. The honey butter was a nice touch too. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. I prefer sweet breakfasts rather than savory, so the menu was a little limited for me, but I was happy with the Waffle Plate! Would like to see more additions in the future (aside from the Ice Cream Breakfast lol). read more

The three of us went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning, around 10am. We were seated quickly at a booth and had a nice and friendly server. We ordered the Rise and Shine Sammie,the Dad Bod, and the Conway. All were served with a side of their potatoes. All were served hot and fresh and were very tasty. The potatoes were fantastic! We'll definitely be back. It's a bit off the beaten path in downtown Fredericksburg, but we'll worth the visit. read more

Wow. What a disappointment. I wish I could say there was a single thing I liked about my brunch, but I can't. I started with a Bloody Mary. It tasted like cocktail sauce mixed with vodka. Even with a large dose of hot sauce it didn't improve the taste. I took two sips and left it on the table. My eggs Benedict were no better. The hollandaise sauce was tasteless, the poached eggs were almost hard boiled, there was a sliver of tomato on a piece of what appeared to be a ham slice from Food Lion, on the bottom was a thin, dry biscuit. read more

I'm was very happy with my first visit to Casey's. The Hostess was wonderful. My party was coming from Fairfax but traffic on I-95 was bad. They were able to change our reservation time (thank you for that). Food wise was great. We got appetizers to start (biscuits & jam and chips & dip). Both were delicious! We ended up ordering a second biscuit & jam. Lunch wise, again food was amazing. I ordered the Rise & Shine ( which came out like a sandwich, which was unexpected but a nice surprise), just delicious! Also ordered Fred Vegas, not a bite left. And the Drums & Flats was very well dressed and cooked to perfection! I'm very happy with my visit and I wouldn't mind a second trip to Casey's. read more

A hidden gem! YES! EXCELLENT service and PHENOMENAL food! Great ambience, Perfect plating. They have it all! We had the crab spread, the swordfish entree, and the cat daddy catfish sandwich. All delicious!! My favorite so far is the Cat Daddy sandwich. My husband ordered it. He almost didn't get it back, after I cut an edge to sample. read more

Absolutely Happy this place is nearby!!! Seriously, they have great service in a quaint setting and a unique menu which they execute PERFECTLY!! We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night, as we've been hearing all the hype about them on social media and have been wanting to try them out. A co-owner greeted and seated us and checked on us often through our stay. Our server, Maddox was awesome, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! We started with some cocktails, which we loved! We usually start with a cocktail and then move on to wine, but these were so good (and priced decently) that we got 2 rounds before the wine. Their wine list is very small, but has some nice, inexpensive selections on it. We chose a chardonnay that was excellent, especially for the pricepoint. Appetizers consisted of brussel sprouts and fried shrimp. The brussels were outstanding! They had an amazing mustard vinaigrette on them, which really enhanced the flavors! Their shrimp is a take on the popular "bang bang shrimp" that nearly everyone seems to be doing these days... Difference is, this place nailed it! It's got a light sauce (not thick and mayonnaise heavy) with an excellent flavor. They use mild, sweet Gulf shrimp, which are my fav and the shrimp is very lightly battered and taste great when mixed with the sauce! Side salad was really good... The sherry vinaigrette was good, just slightly on the tart side and the cucumbers could have been a little better (they looked like they were exposed to ice or something to cause a little cold burn to them). Entrées... The BEST PART OF THE EVENING!! Trout - show-stealer!! Perfect flavor, preparation and cook! Plating was gorgeous! Flavor was so mild and tasty, it resembled that of a pricer cut of fish. The accoutrement was outstanding! Such a beautiful dish! Smoked scallops were excellent! Loved the cous cous that it came with. The flavors all came together perfectly! And the temperature of the scallops was SPOT ON!!! The Fred Vegas was outstanding... Two large chicken thighs, lightly battered and Buffalo'd excellently on a sandwich. And then the chicken carbonara was amazing and flavourful! Dessert was just as amazing as the entrées... The slight crisp to the banana bread (seems like it was slightly flat-topped prior to serving) was a great touch! The warmth of it and then the ice 5on top made for an excellent dessert! Overall, we loved this visit and will most definitely return! So glad they offer reservations (they use Tock) as they will one day become really popular and there will be a line to get in... We'll continue to make reservations. read more

We had an interesting experience at Casey's. When we walked in we waited at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before I assume the manager wakes up and said that she would go get a hostess. I would like to state they were NOT busy. There were two tables filled on the non-bar side and three couples at the bar. Anyways we were seated on the bar side and waited another 15-20 minutes before we got a waiter. The waiter we got was pretty friendly, but then it got weird. So another couple was seated next to us and the waiter remarked oh welcome back... from that point forward we seemed to be ignored. Those people got full attention from the waiter and it was like we weren't even there and we were sittingRIGHT NEXT to them. It only got worse when someone who clearly works there sat on the other side of us with her friends. I mean someone came from behind the bar and asked the people on either side of us about coffee refills, meanwhile we sat there with empty cups fully ignored. Moving on to the food, we got a patty melt which was not cooked to the correct temperature but tasted good which came with tots that were ice cold and a sleeping beauty which is more of those ice cold tots with sausage gravy and a egg on top. Again good flavor but clearly our food was either sitting waiting to be brought to us which based on the poor service isn't unbelievable or it just want prepared fresh. The vibe was very relaxed and family friendly so maybe we will give it another try with hopefully hot food and drink refills but this was definitely a really uncomfortable experience. read more

I went to Casey's for the first time Saturday the 28th. I gave a 4/5 due to service because the food is a 5. The hostess seemed a bit flustered and our server apparently had hurt her foot. I tried this place for the first time about a week ago for brunch and I was super impressed. My food was so good, and filling, I had enough to take home. What made it even better was the bottomless mimosas!! I will say I almost made this a 4 star review because there was a man working, probably the owner or maybe a manager, who came off a little creepy. But I figured it may have been a one time thing or just a weird day maybe. Hopefully he gives the ladies more space in the future and quits with the awkward side eye staring... I will definitely be back to Casey's soon because I loved my meal and apparently they offer military discounts on thursdays and my husband is a marine. Great local spot that just opened up. This week we had the pleasure of dining at Casey's, a new restaurant in Fredericksburg that just opened last month! This restaurant prides itself on being "southern country cooking with a French zhuzh." We dabbled in each part of the menu, ordering drinks, a happy hour snack, an appetizer, a few entrees, a dessert and finished with tea/coffee. The drinks were SUPERB. There is a drink for any mood and any drinker. They even have delicious flavored tea and lemonade options that you can spike with a shot of your choice. Moving to appetizers, we ordered full wings and the hummus. If you are a hummus eater, you will love this. It has crunchy chickpeas and onions throughout so you get a crunch with every smooth bite. Paired with toasted pita and fresh cucumber slices, this is a hit. The full wings were seasoned well and have three sauces to choose from: Buffalo, barbecue and MAMBO SAUCE. Mind you they are whole wings. Next ENTREES! We had the half smoked chicken, the gnocchi, the smash burger, the rocket shrimp, apple fennel salad, and a side of fried brussel sprouts. This is where it got a little tricky. The half chicken entree was so seasoned and juicy which came with two sides, an onion biscuit and Brussels sprout carrot mix. NOT a huge fan of carrots, but have at it. I would prefer broccoli as an option. However, it was worth every penny. The shrimp appetizer and side of Brussels were both fried to perfection and well priced. The smash burger was on the small side and definitely more of a snack than a meal. The gnocchi entree was a very small portion, leaving us all wanting more in flavor and size, especially because it was priced at $17. BUT what I can say is the gnocchi was soft billowy and fresh. The key lime cheesecake was not as tart as we had hoped. It was more of a cheesecake with a key lime sauce. However, tasty! The slice was very thin and hard to share. The server explained that they partner with a local bakery and this was not directly from their kitchen, but the slice could have still been larger for the price. Lastly, we ordered a cup of apple currant tea which had a nice delicate flavor. We also ordered a caramel vanilla coffee which was smooth and warm, but on the sweet side for our everyday coffee drinker. With all of that being said, we enjoyed this restaurant and will be going back. The overall rating was around 7/10. The entire restaurant staff were so pleasant and friendly and super attentive. The bathrooms were neat and tidy and the restaurant itself is spacious with good vibes and music! The main reason for the dock in points was due to the price to portion ratio for multiple items. Had the portions been larger or the prices a little lower, we wouldn't have much to critique. We all agreed that this is a great happy hour place to come drink, snack, and be in good company. Next time we will be trying other entrees to compare them to the chicken we had, and we are also looking forward to them bringing out their full menu. Our lovely server also mentioned that they have brunch and we love us a good chicken and waffles with a side of mimosas. Be on the lookout for our Casey's review: brunch edition! I brought my dad here for a make up father's day brunch a few weeks ago. The outside of the establishment looked nice, but inside was like an old diner. The decor and style of the inside didn't exactly go with the fancy entrees on the menu, but that's not super important. Our server was nice, i can't actually recall her name though. I ordered the hash, my dad's wife ordered the breakfast sandwich on sourdough with eggs cheese bacon and sausage on it. My dad ordered waffle and wings. The waffle and wings is a dish with a cornbread waffle and three fried chicken wings. My dad is allergic to corn and asked if they have regular buttermilk type waffles and could he substitute that. Our server said yes, no problem. She then came back with a cook and said they only have two waffle irons and is it okay if the waffle is prepared in the same iron as a cornbread waffle? He asked if it's possible to not, because... allergies. The cook then spoke up and said they could wash the waffle iron and make his waffle in that. So my dad is looking around awkward like um is that going to be too much trouble? Or? And the guy is like no, no trouble. So my dad's like okay then yes thank you. Well, we get our food and it's delicious! I'm a little upset because the potatoes are described as being roasted and they were CLEARLY deep fried. I may have ordered something else, as i don't like to go with deep fried food if i can help it. Then as the meal is coming to an end my dad says he doesn't think they cleaned the waffle iron and if they did, they didn't do a thorough job. He was already experiencing itchiness and a migraine, two things that happen when he having an allergic reaction. Why do we not have one waffle iron for cornbread and one for buttermilk?? That way we can avoid these situations. The food was very good, but it just sucks that my dad ended up having an allergic reaction even after notifying the server and cook of his allergy.
