I was at the Silver Diner on 11/8 at approximately 1 pm when I feel I was discriminated against by 2 of the servers., seemingly transphobic (even though I'm a cis female, I present somewhat masculine) or homophobic. I walked in and it was very crowded, so since I was alone and only wanted coffee,I asked if I could just sit at the counter.. 2 of the servers just started at me for about 5 seconds, didn't say a word, and just shook their heads no. I asked, "I can't sit at the counter?" One, not smile or pleasantry, said, there was no room at the counter without even looking or inviting me to wait until someone leaves. My husband ordered a smoked turkey sandwich with no bread. The platter came out and he was hoping the cheese would be melted as it was a smoked turkey sandwich with no smoked flavor. He felt as if it was deli meat. I ordered simple eggs with apple ham and biscuit with a substitute of fruit for home fries. All came out correctly ordered. The eggs were bland and not hot. Today, my mom and I came here for fish tacos ((which are amazing .... but Only 2 teeny tiny tacos ?? :( sheeesh. Silver diner is a cool restaurant masquerading as a diner. The food is good and fresh and if you're vegan or vegetarian this is a must dine at location. It's got the look and feel of a classic diner complete with the old school jukebox on the table although the music is on a first come first select basis to play on every table in the restaurant. When we were there someone was a BeeGees lover and that's what we listened to throughout our meal. No complaints there especially since the disco killing rock and roll era is long gone and you can actually enjoy both these day (apologies for the trip down memory lane) Don't expect pizza burgers, disco fries, Matzo ball soup, or split pea on Thursday (every diner in America has a split pea soup of the day on Thursday = fact!). Do expect great service, awesome coffee drinks and milkshakes, and lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. Silver Diner is a chain that started in Maryland but they definitely captured the classic diner look and feel but with a modern dining twist. There's something for everyone here. read more

Silver Diner not only has an extensive menu, but all of there dishes are presented and cooked well. Locally sourced ingredients shine. I have dined there on several occasions. On my last visit to Silver Diner in Cherry Hill, I had the local burrata bruschetta which quickly became my favorite. The mozzarella was so creamy and paired well with the tomato, balsamic, and pesto. I think one of the subtly best attributes of Silver Diner is the bread, which is always soft, fresh, and flavorful. We also tried the organic huevos rancheros with crispy whole wheat tortillas, chorizo hash with organic bison, cage-free Amish eggs over-easy, peppers, salsa roja, scallions, cilantro, goat cheese, guacamole. This was cooked perfectly and the flavors melded well together. I think that it's a very comforting dish and the offering of bison is a great addition to the menu. The last item was the California omelet with egg whites, chicken, tomato, jack cheddar, scallions, Baja black bean salsa, cilantro sour cream, fresh strawberries and fruit, and whole wheat toast. The chicken in the omelet is superb and seasoned well. This is a standard option for me for a healthy breakfast. While not extravagant, it certainly hits the spot. Service is quick and courteous. I would say they provide average service for any diner. The ambiance is what you would find at any classic American diner. I would say that the food comes out fairly quickly which is refreshing because this spot can get quite busy. Overall I would recommend the Silver Diner for breakfast or lunch for an affordable, high-quality meal with quick service. read more

Ordered the JUST EGG BENEDICT which is completely plant based and vegan. It's a bit taxed. But for a diner in Jersey it was pretty good! Coffee is mid. But it's hot. Server was cool. I didn't get offered a refil on my coffee and the prices are already pretty steep so I was shook to ask. I think it was around 50 dollars for two people with a 20% tip. I ordered eggs I asked for bacon soft rock hard they took it back, brought it back again then told me they can't make it soft, which they should've told me when I first ordered I would've picked something else. After a day of shopping and reading the reviews of this place, we decided to give this place a try. We got immediately seated after checking in. The diner is large with booth seats covering every inch of the restaurant and follows the traditional diner color scheme, which consists of reds, whites, and shades of brown. A huge counter envelops most of the front area and there is a sign on the counter that says "Bakery on Premises". Daughter ordered the avocado toast smoked salmon. It comes along with avocado mix, hemp hearts, olive oil, micro greens and sourdough bread. Daughter thought it was really delicious and thought the texture was amazing. This entree was her third choice. She originally ordered pesto burger because the menu said that South Jersey magazine raved about the pesto burger being the best burger. We didn't see it on the menu and asked the server but was told they didn't have it. Then, she tried to order the burrata tomato sandwich and was told that they didn't have that, either. Hubs ordered the Fish and chips blue plate special. He thought that the fish was overtired and under seasoned, but he said that he should expect that since it was the blue plate special. Lastly, I ordered the Burrata Shakshuka from the All-Day Breakfast & Brunch section. The shakshuka comes with a local burrata, hot honey, roasted butternut squash, peppers, mint, cilantro, roasted pepper tomato sauce, eggs over easy, crunchy chickpeas, pomegranate, naan and za'atar. The pomegranates were a little disappointing and I'm not a fan of them. The entree was a little sweet and very saucy. I felt that the burrata was tiny. Hubs thought that the shakshuka saved his fish and chips because it needed flavor. Service was friendly, but we were disappointed that the items we wanted weren't available that day. If you've ever been to the mall on a Saturday night you already know you are not getting a quick seating at a restaurant especially during the pandemic. Ordered on a Saturday evening and was able to place an order and have it ready within 20 minutes which was a plus. Everything was organized and there was even a table designated for online orders. Inside has a retro vibe, definitely a bit more upscale than your average "diner." Food - I ordered a spinach omelette with home fries and a sesame bagel. The bagel was pretty hard and was difficult to chew. The home fries were mildly seasoned and tasted decent. I was pretty satisfied as it was cooked nicely. The omelette which I ordered with pepper jack cheese was just okay. There was nothing about it that left me wanting more. It tasted more bland than flavorful. I was a bit annoyed they added there own tip despite me having to pick up my own order and having the option to include tip on my own. I guess I wouldn't have had as much of an issue if the food wasn't just okay. Overall I probably would try it once more just because of the appeal of the different menu items but it was pretty underwhelming given the physical appearance of the place. read more
