Wood-Grilled Dry-Rubbed Pork Chop
Jon H.

It has been years since I've been to Seasons 52 and I'm really not sure why. My last visit was probably 9 years ago at a work event and I remember everything being great. This visit was no different. We arrived right on time for our 7:15pm reservation on a Saturday night and despite it being busy our table was ready for us. We were seated next to the bar, which I have to say, looked like a bar I'd like to enjoy a cocktail at. Even with all the people seated at tables and around the bar, the restaurant wasn't noisy so it was easy to have conversation. We started with drinks. My fiancé had a glass of Daou Cabernet, which is almost always a must order for her when it is on a restaurant's wine list. Her dad had a Stoli up with a twist and I had a Manhattan with Makers. The cocktails were poured tableside, each from small individual shakers, and were definitely up to taste. We also decided to split a couple of appetizers. Both were great choices and I'd recommend or even order again. The Artichoke Flatbread was thin and crispy, and the house-made tzatziki was the real kicker adding a cool, refreshing touch. The stuffed mushrooms, as recommended by our server didn't disappoint. They came out very hot in a cute dish that had small, individual wells for each mushroom. Prior to selecting entrees, I asked our server about any must-order dishes that Seasons is known for. She recommended the Lamb Loin (which I was seriously considering), the Halibut, and the Sea Bass. My Fiancé ordered the Halibut, which they've gotten many times before and typically love. Her dad and I decided on the Dry Rubbed Pork Chop, and her mom had the Roasted Salmon. Both the Pork Chop and Halibut had beautiful grill marks while the Salmon looked to have a very nice crust. I loved the Pork Chop. Along with the dry rub I thought the grill marks and char added great flavor. It was served over a bed of red cabbage with the option to sub roasted potatoes or mashed of cabbage isn't your thing. I personally was happy with the cabbage but both potato choices looked good as well. It may have been an off-night or a one-off for the Halibut. It was dry. My fiancé left about half and didn't even want to box it up to go. Like I said earlier, they've ordered the Halibut here many times and have always loved it. Desserts were presented table-side in small shot glass-like glasses. I'm not very big on dessert but they all looked good. My fiancé chose the s'mores dessert which was chocolate cake, served with chocolate frosting, a roasted marshmallow, and a graham cracker. The desserts are not big enough to split but I was still offered a little bite. It was very rich, very chocolatey, and the perfect amount for an after dinner treat. As I initially stated, I'm not sure why it's been so long since my last visit. The atmosphere was elevated casual and relaxing, the food (apart from an off-night for the Halibut) was delicious, and the prices were more than fair for the food we were served. I'm definitely not waiting as long between visits as I did before.

I easily booked a private party here and had an absolute blast. Seasons 52 was very easy to work with thru email to coordinate this dinner and get a contract signed. Service was great, the drinks were flowing and the food was just delicious! Side note: order more of the crab cakes. We could have eaten more of this or at least i could have. Highly recommend this spot for your next event.

Bartenders and service is excellent real bartenders. You know how to make a mixed drink which taste the same every time you order it. Try the flatbread pesto and chicken fresh mozzarella to start with. Excellent atmosphere and the price is perfect. For real bartenders make sure you come to this establishment.

I thoroughly enjoyed Seasons. The best part of the night was the espresso martinis. They brew the espresso on site! They were delicious. I also love that the dessert, which I usually do not have, comes in a really thick shot glass that you can keep. I will definitely be going back soon.

I ordered the Filet mignon and Maine lobster tail and added on the caramelized scallops. Although I ordered my steak to be medium rare, it came out almost well done. The lobster was okay, part of it was burnt. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and broccolini the most. The service was nice and pleasant.

We came here for the first time for a 4:30pm Valentine's Day reservation. The ambience is clean and cozy and the food was delicious. We ordered the lobster bisque, mac and cheese, filet mignon and two sparkling wine flights. The disappointing part of the night was our server. There was no enthusiasm whatsoever and for a $150 dinner for two on Valentines Day, we expected a little more effort. We discovered there were dinner specials after closing out the bill as he read them to the table behind us. Overall, it was a rushed experience that could have been made a little more special for how much you pay to be there.

Unprofessional handling of food. Look so messy with food and oil all over the boxes. I went there for Mother's Day brunch and ordered some take out for my kids.

On the spur of the moment we went to Seasons 52 for dinner. We were able to walk in and get a table on a Saturday evening. Our server Mate was very professional and attentive. We started off with crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms. Our entrees were grilled pork chops and sea bass. The portions were huge and tasty. Every morsel was delicious. We were too full for dessert.

Another pleasant evening at our go to holiday bistro. Cuisine was nicely prepared and served with a caring presentation. On Easter 2024 the place was packed but scheduling reservations was exquisite. Why is that? The staff periodically contacted us to make sure we would be there and on time. We received texts and even a phone call. Management is on top of operations! We noticed familiar waitstaff which is a good sign. That tells us they are relatively happy working there, making money and treated with respect. And we appreciate them. Pricing is actually reasonable in this inflationary time and everything was appropriately priced for portion size and quality of product. All in all a very nice experience and of course, we'll be back!

First and foremost, our server was excellent. Polite and prompt, friendly, everything you want in a server. My problem was the food ... I ordered the halibut, asked my server about the "seasonal veggies" it comes with (she mentioned asparagus, okay good) because I do love veggies, but there are some I just really do not. Unfortunately, those exact veggies arrived on the plate, and my entree looked more like stir fry. I don't like onions or peppers ... and they were the base veggie of the dish. The menu describes the "sauce" as a lemon citronette, and this dish was not at all what I was expecting. It lacked flavor, there was no sauce, not a hint of lemon (I even squeezed some on there & it didnt help :( ) I can get past some vegetables I don't eat, just pushed them to the side, but the halibut was so so so incredibly dry. It wasn't soft, or flakey, or moist. (I hate that word but it was the best way to describe what it lacked) It was like cardboard. I was trying to choke it down because I too, had just worked a serving shift for Mothers Day, & it was the first thing I was eating all day. My husband mentioned something to the server because he knew I wouldn't haha, I don't like to be a pain customer or send things back. Fortunately, they did take it off the bill, but it was just a bummer. Willing to try again in the future, & I'll just stay away from the halibut.

My wife again chose The Chop House for her birthday dinner celebration and for great reason! We came on her birthday, a Tuesday evening, for drinks and appetizers in the bar area. The gentleman working valet was very respectful and professional and while I can take or leave valet in most cases, he definitely added to the upscale experience of the entire night. Upon seating ourselves at a high-top, both bartenders on shift greeted us with huge smiles and very warm hello's. They are familiar faces to my wife's family and were genuinely happy to see us. Unfortunately, we learned my wife's family's favorite server, Debbie, recently retired but great for her! The bartenders were fabulous themselves. Service, personability, mixology skills were all top-notch. They fit the sophisticated vibe of the restaurant perfectly. We started with drinks of course! A Stoli Elit Martini with a twist, a Dirty Martini, an Apple Butter Old Fashioned, and a Tito's and Club. The drinks came out beautifully. Smooth, chilled. I ordered the Apple Butter Old Fashioned as I was intrigued, but skeptical. While I thought it was good, I'd prefer a regular or Smoked Old Fashioned to the Apple Butter. My wife loved it though. We ordered lots of food to split and each appetizer we picked was as good if not better than the next. The Tuna Nachos fresh and had a tropical, savory flavor with pineapple mixed in. The Kona Tips were tender, full of flavor coming from the Kona crust and sautéed mushrooms/onions, and were served in a skillet full of sauce perfect for soaking up with bread. I actually liked the Kona Tips appetizer more than I liked the Kona Crust I got on my NY Strip I ordered last year (the Strip was great I'd just prefer no Kona crust on the entree). The Flatbread De Jour was a Kona Tip flatbread, which you may call us crazy for ordering two Kona Tip inspired appetizers, but the Kona Tips are just that good. The Oysters we had were small (just how I like them) and were up there with the best Oysters I've had. We finished up with Fried Calamari. They were lightly battered, fried nicely, tender, and served over a bed of different hot peppers (when I say hot, I mean it!). Everything was delicious and there wasn't one appetizer we chose that I wouldn't order again or recommend to others. We did order a few more drinks throughout the night -- another Elit Martini and a Hendrix Martini with the appetizers and then Bailey's on the rocks and Frangelico on the rocks as after dinner, dessert drinks. We ordered a Brownie Sundae for the table for my wife's birthday while she was excused from the table and the bartender brought it out with a lit candle. The bartender also brought out a complementary miniature Crème Brûlée for my wife as she acknowledged The Chop House's Crème Brûlée as one of her favorites earlier in the night when we were talking about the menu. I thought the entire night went as good as you could have hoped. Valet, bar service, food, drinks, desserts, atmosphere. Everything was amazing and most importantly my wife had a great birthday. This is two years in a row we celebrated her birthday at The Chop House and I wouldn't mind seeing this turn into her birthday tradition.

He checked on us through out our meal to ensure we were enjoying our meal. We had the calamari and dozen raw oysters which were both fresh and delicious. We had the Chophouse steak experience which worked out perfectly for our table of four and actually could've feed 5 easily. It consisted of 4 cuts of steaks and my favorites were the filet and ribeye. They were seasoned perfectly and grilled medium rare. Our sides were mashed potatoes, CH hash browns, and grilled asparagus. The weakest link was the asparagus which were small in size but still tasty. I will definitely be back based on service, food and value. This is a perfect restaurant for celebrations, dates and casual dining. Definitely a gem of a restaurant. Will be back sooner than later.

Dipping sauce or marinade is not needed. It is spicy enough on its own. The jumbo lump crabmeat is also a must. A huge bowl of huge chunks of tender chilled crabmeat. 4 of us split a wedge salad. The filet was up there with the most tasty and tender steak I've ever had. Perfectly prepared to a medium. The topping of Gorgonzola and red wine reduction sauce brings the flavors to another level. We did arrive a half hour early and did not expect to be seated early, however, after more than 15 minuets past our reservation time we decided to sit at the bar, since there were 2 empty seats, instead of waiting for the table. I ordered a lemon drop martini and my wife ordered a jack and Coke. Both drinks were good but we finished them before we could catch the attention of the bartender to put in apps. When we finally got their attention we ordered another round of drinks, the calamari and a butternut squash soup. The apps came out fairly fast. The calamari was ok, it did not come with any dipping sauce, it was pretty dry. The butternut squash soup was inedible, terrible texture, super grainy. When we got the bartenders attention we told her the soup was inedible, she acknowledge our concerns and cleared our plates. The bartender spent so long spending time at the other end of the bar talking to all the older patrons that my wife said we should just go to Applebees. When she finally got back to us we input our order, strip steak au poivre with courvoisier sauce (medium well), roasted chicken breast, spinach, and mashed potatoes. Again the food came out fairly fast. The steak was so over cooked that when I cut it the plate was moving all over the bar. The sauce was delicious and if cooked correctly the steak would have been amazing. The chicken was was cooked fine but tasted like the grill top it was cooked on. It was supposed to be served over risotto but the "risotto" was hard and sitting in a puddle of broth? I thought the spinach was too salty but my wife said it was good. The best thing of the night and savior of the whole meal was the mashed potatoes. Whoever made the mashed potatoes loves potatoes. They were great. When we got the check it came to almost $300 and they didn't even take that terrible soup off. Fine, we ordered it, we didn't like it, but after everything else, besides the mashed potatoes, including the service being below average the least they could have done was taken off the soup. Also for a restaurant with a posted dress code it was unacceptable to allow people to come in with pajamas. Even in their pajamas, standing behind us, they received better service than we did.

Recently some family members went for happy hour to watch a Phillies game, and they had a great time. We decided to give it another shot for happy hour. We really enjoyed ourselves and thought the value for what we ordered was outstanding. We arrived just after 5pm (happy hour weekly from 3-6) and were greeted by one of 3 bartenders who helped us throughout our visit (all 3 bartenders were great). I asked about their current down east cider on tap and she poured us a taster without having to request it. I ended up going with a happy hour dirty Kettle martini which ended up being super smooth. My wife had a Surfside, also on happy hour. The happy hour food consists of 1/2 price appetizers, fries, 10 piece boneless/bone-in wings and fingers. Drink wise it's $3 off all draft beer & house wine, $5 seltzers & teas, $7 margaritas, and $10 kettle & espresso martinis. I love a good deal and this is it! Chegg also has a fun Phillies special where each game there is a player of the game. If that player records a hit there are drink specials the remainder of the game! We ordered a bunch of food also on happy hour; Garlic Parm Boneless Wings, Fried Pickle Spears, Cheesy Bay Fries, and Bone-In Zapper Wings. I typically prefer smaller wings. These wings were on the bigger side and were meaty and juicy, but they were also crispy, cooked well throughout and not fatty. The wing sauce was really good! Very hot but not overbearing which is just what I was hoping for. The fried pickle spears were also a hit, and seemed to be breaded in house which is a huge plus if they were. The boneless wings were very good, however, we've had better Garlic Parm sauces elsewhere. Still nothing to complain about. After finishing my Dirty Martini I ordered a Jalapeño Margarita which was delicious. The bartender muddled jalapeño in the shaker prior to making the drink. It was limey and refreshing with a subtle jalapeño kick. Well worth the price tag and something I'd definitely order again. I finished up with one of my favorite all time beers, Tonewood Fuego (this drink not on happy hour). I mention this as all of this food and drink came out to ~$65. Again, value-wise I was impressed. I think Chegg has the potential to be great place to watch games. Their bar is very large with plenty of TVs throughout. They also have a great patio bar for beautiful days/nights. I'm sure during big Philadelphia sporting events the atmosphere is pretty great inside and out. I can definitely see myself coming back again for happy hour as the food and drink specials are great in my opinion. This was my first time at a Chegg happy hour. I still feel the prices are a bit high outside of happy hour. If you want decent bar food at a good price Chegg happy hour could be a place for you.

You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online.
