My husband and daughter and I had the best brunch for Mother's Day yesterday. Top notch service, excellent food, great drinks, and perfect day sitting out on the deck after we ate. Great time!!

Prime Rib

I have to say, service was absolutely phenomenal! We went to celebrate my mother's birthday and our server was extremely attentive and made our night amazing! The star of the show was the prime rib, it was so juicy and flavorful! Everything was overall pretty good, the fish was delicious, not dry at all, and the lobster roll was a generous portion. I would probably skip the cannelloni as it was a tad bit salty and not too memorable, but overall decent dishes! We loved the mocktail: Midsummer Night's Dream, it reminded me of a mango sago as it was creamy and had a pleasant mango flavor! For a special event I would definitely recommend coming here, perhaps in the summer when the deck area is open, I'm sure the view is nice! :)

Had a lovely experience at Moshulu. Stepping on the boat was breathtaking. I loved the views from our table. Our serve was kind and knowledgeable. Caesar salad with anchovies was well dressed and wonderfully salty. Shrimp scampi skillet had the most amazing sauce I wish we had more bread to enjoy it with! Macaroni and cheese had the best cheese pull. Portions were wonderful. We also had the lemon sorbet which was delightful. Was pricey, but a worthwhile experience!

We were thinking of throwing a party at the Moshulu but we had never been there so we came on a Sunday morning to do a taste test - we had absolutely no notes. From the stunning decor to the amazing staff - everything was amazing!! The menu was very eclectic and everything tasted DELICIOUS! Literally no notes. I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch, dinner, or a party. It was such an amazing experience. I cant wait to go again!

Such a beautiful dining experience! I was super excited for this dining experience on my trip to Philadelphia. Come aboard the Moshulu ship where you will have views of the Delaware River while you enjoy an assortment of fresh seafood. I was celebrating my anniversary and the little touch when we checked in of mentioning it and a cute note at the table, while small, makes all the difference. The food was absolutely delicious and the crab pasta special sounded so good, however, we wanted to order a bunch of dishes to taste and they kindly offered to prepare it as an appetizer portion for me. The ship dining experience changes at 10 to a bar/club scene. While I didn't stay to enjoy that, it seems like a very cool experience if it's something you're interested in. I definitely recommend you make this a stop when you visit!! NOTE: make reservations in advance they do get busy!

Dining on the deck of Moshulu is a sensory experience sunlight glinting off the water, elegant ambiance, and a parade of bold flavors that hit every note. We started with the shrimp cocktail, fresh and delicately seasoned, perfectly paired with a zesty cocktail sauce and lemon wrapped in mesh for an upscale touch. The meatballs were rich and tender, swimming in a hearty tomato sauce with a sprinkle of shaved cheese and grilled bread on the side. The tuna crispy rice was a standout, crispy, spicy, and full of texture. I had the caesar salad with grilled shrimp which was good. The lobster mac and cheese delivered indulgence with every bite. The salmon entrée was nicely cooked with crispy skin, layered over a flavorful rice pilaf, carrot purée, and fresh veggies. The only miss of the evening was the cocktails. While advertised as part of a new seasonal menu, they leaned surprisingly wintery with spice-heavy and not quite the refreshing vibe we expected for a spring/summer launch. Still, the service was attentive, the presentation stunning, and the food mostly exceptional. We'll definitely be back, just hoping for cocktails that match the season next time.

We came for our 1yr wedding anniversary and it was so intimate. Our service was great and we got a dessert saying "happy anniversary" so sweet!!! The food portion to prize ratio is spot on. I got the chicken dish, expecting a small amount, but I had two huge chicken thighs on asparagus, bean curd (I think), mushrooms and a side of gravy! It was pretty good! My husband had the coconut rice dish, pretty much all the rolls, and we split a side of truffle fries! Everything was good and filling! I wasn't a big fan of the rolls bc I wasn't expecting how salty the salty honey butter rolls were (in the name, I know lol). But my husband loved them! Definitely recommend for a special occasion since it's pricey. But the view on the top deck was worthwhile. Definitely picture perfect areas up there.

A wonderful dining experience! My husband and I come here to celebrate our anniversary and it's such a special time. The interior is beautiful. The servers are so kind and helpful. The host stand accommodated whatever needs we had. The tuna tartar was fresh and a great starter. I had the braised short rib; phenomenal! The citrus cheesecake was truly the best dessert I've ever had.

I wanted to love it, I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE IT!!! But I didn't, HAHA. Date night at the Moshulu, ooh la la! We were blessed to have gift cards, because boy is this place not worth it. I will say- the boat is gorgeous! They did a great job with the interior, but unfortunately the look of the restaurant is not enough earn brownie points on the food. We started with cocktails, which were decent. I went with a simple Pear Bellini and hubby got the Fall Down, GO BOOM! As for appetizers we felt obligated to try the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice as its like the one thing we always try, if available. To me, this was a try hard crispy rice...there was an unsettling smokiness to it and there was something too hot (temp wise) about this dish that didn't scream crispy rice to me. It might have just been how fresh out of the fryer the rice was, but I didn't enjoy it (personally). Additionally, we got the Crispy Duroc Pork Belly, which was good! Jerk spiced pork belly over brussels sprouts with a honey crisp apple sauce of sorts. The fattiness of the pork belly was slightly off-putting (if you're not into eating the fatty parts). I was conflicted on what entree to order as the options are....interesting, I think is the best way to put it. A lobster pot pie?! I mean you don't see that too frequently. I ended up going with the Alaskan Halibut Picatta and J went with the Surf and Turf which is served with short rib and sword fish -see, not your run of the mill surf and turf! The picatta was fine- it tasted like picatta, sub fish. As I keep telling J...I didn't leave dreaming about it. It was....OK, at best. J also didn't leave wanting to run back for his entree, either. He felt it was lacking seasoning (his usual critique). The best part of his dish was the Potato au Gratin...which I kept stealing from his plate (hehehe!) Even though both plates came with a potato, I was still intrigued by the truffle fries. Not sure why....nothing special, and the chipotle mayo totally ruins them. We decided to splurge and get dessert because GIFT CARDS! We chose to try the chocolate cheesecake which came with decadent wine cherries...is it bad that we liked the cherries more than the cheesecake?! By the time the check arrived, we had already determined that we wished went elsewhere...and then we looked at the check and regretted ever coming in the first place! The price to lackluster food ratio is not balanced, in the slightest. I sadly can't believe I'm admitting that I have to come back here for a girls brunch...I'm hoping that since it's brunch, there will be a redeeming option that will make up for my first experience here! Stay tuned for an update soon!

Tasty Lobster Bisque

Listen! The experience of the Moshulu was fantastic. The weather was cool and clear. You walked to the boat full of excitement. We were able to eat outside beautiful view. The cocktail were good but the experience was the best. The food was ok. My crab dip could have been my main meal. The salmon was a bit on the dry side. The lobster mac and cheese we would pass on that next time. There was a couple there that must have had some issues. They were move close to us and received complimentary wine and appetizer. However we had a hard time connecting with our server. She was nice but not very focused on us. The hostess was great. I'd return to Moshulu for the experience.

The service was good, the view amazing, the food mid. Prices are high for the quality in my opinion. Guess tour paying for the view but I was more impressed by the bathroom then the food. I may go back for drinks and apps just not the pork belly. It was tough! Beautiful view and ambience though and that's about it!

Ally L.

What a beautiful concept. The views were immaculate. The restaurant was squeaky clean and the service was excellent. Our bartender had the gift of gab and she was quite personable. However, shout out to the hostess, Aaliyah, who, upon my arrival asked to put my scooter in another room out of the way. I loved that because I scoot to work and this was an after work event and sometimes I stress about where I'm going to park it. She eliminated that stress IMMEDIATELY. Love it. Now we went for a networking event so we just had small bites but I am very interested in coming back for brunch!

Went to Moshulu for the first time for my anniversary dinner. We had a reservation but did have a to wait a few minutes to be seated on the upstairs deck, which was expected as the deck was a first come first serve basis, and invited to sit in the cute bar to wait. The food was very good, fish and oysters tasted fresh and prepared well;and clearly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. (Made some great leftovers) And a nice drink menu with good wine options and a variation in different types, as well as a handful of liquors for cocktails. My only "gripe" would be that for as expensive of a place, we did feel a bit rushed to order and wrap up our meal. We were asked if we needed more time with the menu immediately after being sat and served waters, and again when we put in our appetizers 3 minutes later. Halfway through eating our entrees, we were asked if we wanted any boxes. It was still pretty early in the evening and were one of maybe five other tables up there, so we were a bit disappointed to feel like we were taking up a seat and ended up only spending about 45 minutes from arrival to paying our bill. Despite this, I will say our waitress was very kind and attentive, we were able to order two rounds of drinks very quickly and never felt like we needed to wait for her to return to the table. Overall good experience, kind staff and good food. But did feel a tad rushed even after saying we were celebrating. Either way, I would still recommend!

Huge bar, giant wall of liquor bottles, dim lighting, and a cool old-school vibe. I told the bartender that ordering a beer in a place like this felt like I was insulting him. He laughed and told me not to worry about it. The drink special was called "Naked and Famous," which honestly sounded like the perfect cocktail to order in honor of Jen. But then I spotted a dark beer on the menu that sounded too good to pass up. If you follow me, you know I'm slowly becoming a dark beer guy. I liked it a lot. The sandwich special was a cheesesteak. Sorry, I should've taken a picture of the menu. But I really enjoyed it, and for $18 it came with a mountain of seasoned fries, which feels like a bargain these days. Bomb Shell: the two people working absolutely crushed it. I don't know if they were understaffed or if Monday night got busier than expected, but they were working their tails off the entire time. Hostess was welcoming and they were kind when we were about 5min beyond their 15min lateness window (we did call ahead about it though). Our table was comfortable and attractive, but the lighting was such that somehow we were under a bright light while the rest of the room was quite dark so it felt a little on display. I also got a real "city vibe" from the other patrons, like just cold and pseudo-hostile as I've often felt from city dwellers as a suburbanite. No smiles or even acknowledgment from others as you walk to/from the bathroom or brush past someone getting to your seat. Just did not feel like any holiday was happening in there. Other places downtown don't seem to have this vibe despite their obvious urban demographic. It could be the cold weather, political climate, or just that crowd at that time, but that was the overwhelming ambiance I felt. Had the "All In The Family" bourbon flight, including Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, and Maker's Cask. Loved the Maker's Cask, was not a fan of the others. Also had a Michter's US*1 which was a lucky blind pick for me, very good! I will say our server was quite sweet and did a very good job. She smiled, made eye contact, and was knowledgeable about the food. She wasn't fully versed in the extensive whiskey menu but they really need some kind of manual or bourbon "Bible" to explain all the various batches and makers, so I don't discredit her for that, though Twisted Tail ought to be on top of that with a didactics for their bountiful booze. I acknowledge and second many photos and reviews saying seasoning was needed, particularly on meats. My husband needed salt to try to save his "prime rib" by which he was so disappointed and consequently grumpy the rest of the meal. My son's ham was good but not the highest quality. My short rib was okay but also needed salt. Sides were varied and plentiful, and all tasted decent. I'd have to say they redeemed the meal for me. The variety and selection were spot on for Thanksgiving, all the tastes and flavors you would want or expect of the holiday! Dessert was pies that tasted at least a week old. They were dry, flavorless (except sugar), and difficult to cut. After 2 bites I just stopped eating. Flavors were the predictable pumpkin, apple or pecan. It really doesn't matter which I ate because all we tried were equally terrible. They charged an obligatory 20% service fee. We added another 10% to it.

If you're in the mood for something bold and boozy, I also recommend The Golden Ticket. My palate leans away from anything overly sweet or overpowering--I appreciate balance--and every cocktail I've had here hits just right. The only sad thing is that my favorite bartenderess is no longer there, but the staff is still awesome, and the music is always on point, which keeps the vibe strong. Just a heads-up: this cocktail bar is upstairs from Sassafras, and the menus are completely different.
