We reserved a table for two for lunch. The inner dining space was large and open, however the seating we were taken to, coupled with the freezing AC temperature drove us outside to Al fresco dining onsite. Our server was very kind. She was taking care of two to three other outdoor parties along with us so other associates helped with getting dishes out. Our beverages didn't arrive until after my first course (a delicious cup of Cream of Crab Soup) was served. A minute later, the beverage came, and within a very few minutes, another associate arrived with my Caesar Salad entree.... Good grief! I hadn't even finished my soup! What began as a leisurely weekend meal became spectacularly rushed. I left feeling like maybe the place closed for dinner prep in the afternoon. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The food was good, but expecting a ninety minute lunch and getting something just under an hour did not feel enjoyable.
Loch Bar -- Late-Night Eats Review We chose Loch Bar tonight for some late-night eats, and it was the perfect choice! The location was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Since we arrived late, seating was limited to the bar, but we still had access to the full menu. My guy ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, and I went with the Shrimp Scampi appetizer and a side of Roasted Asparagus. The Shrimp Scampi arrived first, and the presentation was gorgeous. The shrimp were served over a slice of sourdough bread that was soaking up all that delicious scampi sauce. It was so good that I kept the plate and used the remaining sauce with my asparagus! His Caesar Salad arrived looking delicious. The chicken on top looked perfectly cooked, and the salad was creamy and coated perfectly with Caesar dressing. The roasted asparagus was simply presented with panko roasted on top, and it was cooked perfectly tender. And yes, it was absolutely delicious dipped into that leftover scampi sauce! The bar staff were also very nice, welcoming, and pleasant to talk with. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect late-night stop. Definitely a place I'd visit again!
Another Philly spot review. I love a restaurant with tasty bread as an appetizer. This garlic loaf was the bomb. The cream of crab soups was perfect. The oysters were good but a little dry. I put a little soup on it to make it better. It worked. The salmon has a crispy skin and moist texture overall. The collard greens were good but not seasoned like mine. Our server was excellent and the restaurant was nicely appointed with a unique seating variety.
We had just arrived in Philadelphia and were hungry so we wanted something close to the hotel. Being just a block away, Loch Bar fit the bill but it turned out to be so much more than a place to get some food. The restaurant is lovely inside with a chic feel. The high ceilings make the space feel very roomy and grand. The hostess was great as was our server Matt. It was easy to tell that management takes customer experience very seriously here. Matt made some great recommendations as we perused the drink and food menus. My rye old fashioned with the custom distilled house rye was great. We started with some shrimp cocktail which we enjoyed. I wasn't too hungry so I had a couple of starters....the crab tots and the fried shrimp and calamari. I loved the calamari and shrimp combo but the crab tots were out of this world. They had gouda cheese in them and the crab topping was very generous. I could have just eaten those all night! My husband had salmon with some purplish rice (I forget what it was) but I was halfway done with my food and looked over and his plate was empty. He loved it. For dessert, we shared a caramel apple cheesecake which was great. It was also amazing for breakfast two days later when I finished it because we couldn't eat the whole thing at dinner! I also had a key lime pie parfait. I love anything key lime pie and this I ate entirely by myself in one sitting. Overall, just a terrific experience here. Outstanding service, terrific food, exceptional drinks....if I lived in Philly, I'd be here regularly.
Decided to come here on a day trip with my friend since we were off that day. Our main stop was reading terminal market! However after browsing all morning we got hungry and decided to keep our original lunch plans. So glad we did this place is 10/10 for me the vibes atmosphere the bartender was very witty and funny! We got an array of items oysters, crab dip, lobster roll, and fish and chips ohhh can't forget the potatoes with caviar. Everything was so good the oysters for me were superior and I am an oyster girly(wild goose the best) the fish and chips were yum just wish it was cut smaller and seasoned more! The dip was yummy my friend loved that and her lobster roll... overall nice chill place to come and the food and drinks are good
My boyfriend had the idea of coming came back here on Valentine's Day and, just like last time, everything was great! Even though we didn't have a reservation, out timing happened to be right as we lucked out on seats at the bar, which is kind of more our thing anyways - we are typically grab seats at the bar when it's just us two. Went back and forth on what to wanted - entrees each with a shared app versus sharing a few apps - but landed on having a few plates to share with another. A few things caught our eye so we went with the Crab & Artichoke Dip, Black Diamond Mussels which came with fries and the Crispy Calamari and Shrimp which we had last time we were here. Everything was tasty, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I already know what entree I'll try when we come back, so looking forward to the next dining experience here!
The service was amazing starting with the hostess and ending with our lovely server Carlos! Carlos was knowledgeable about the menu, made great suggestions and was on point the entire dinner service! It was my mom's birthday and he made her feel special! He wished her happy birthday when she arrived and gave me a list of desserts to choose from to present to her, free of charge! The food was 10/10! Portions were great and everything was hot and flavorful! Thank you for the pleasant experience!
Came here for happy hour last night and I can't wait to return. The happy hour menu is great, and I'd also like to come back for dinner--especially when I have plans at the Kimmel since it's such a convenient spot. There are a good number of seats for HH, but they fill up fast, so I'd recommend arriving right when happy hour starts. Our waiter was kind, though not very attentive, and it was tough to get his attention at times (it was pretty busy, so understandable). Wine was great. For food, we shared oysters on the half shell, fried oysters, roasted oysters, and the yellowfin tuna poke. The raw and fried oysters were outstanding--those are definitely what I'll reorder. The roasted oysters were flavorful, but at that point you lose the distinct oyster taste. The poke was fresh but a bit underwhelming; I wish it came with something like chips to pair with it. Overall, a great spot and I'm looking forward to coming back!
Wanted a nice dinner for my husband birthday and found the Loch Bar. It was literally on the next corner from our hotel and it did NOT disappoint. The ambiance was on point, nice dim lit spot, they had live music the speaker was a little rough but once that was fixed it was perfect and the gentleman sang really good. The staff were amazing and our waitress was wonderful and offered great suggestions. This was our first time in Philly and this place definitely makes us want to come back and bring the family and friends. Now let's get to the food and drinks.! We each had a shooter which was amazing we wanted more but wanted to try other drinks. My husband had the whisky flight , after all it was his bday lol. I had a crushed cocktail very good flavorful and just the right amount of alcohol. We ordered the Garlic oysters to start, I had the filet mignon with asparagus and risotto, my husband chose the duck What do you get a duck breast. Everything was cooked to perfection, so juicy and packed with flavor. Ended the night with crème brûlée and birthday ice cream
I actually can't wait to come back to this spot. The service was really good with multiple people helping us out to get what we needed. It wasn't too crowded and the service speed was standard. A nice place with lots of bar seating. The duck was phenomenal. It was cooked to perfection and I was surprised because seafood is their specialty. I'd come back just to have this duck again. The Mac and cheese was good and a great portion size for sharing. The cookie dessert was a lot to handle, but delicious. I'd consider sharing that with someone so you don't leave super stuffed. Next time I'm there, I'll have to try their oysters!
Happy hour at this place is poppin! I'm talking shoulder to shoulder, but only at the bar. Honestly, I prefer to go afterwards because the service is better. The food is pretty consistent, my absolute fav is the fried lobster! Loch bar is one of the few places in the city that has them. Otherwise, the restaurant is beautiful but can get tight at times when busy.
I loveeeeeee Loch Bar. I've visited this place a few times during happy hour & twice for dinner. Very great vibes. The service isn't all that pleasant during the day because the few times I've been I've had to run the waiters down just to come back & check on me, order more food/drinks, & for the check... Mind you, this was on 3 separate occasions. But, the food is so good I over look it & go back... The fried oysters are delicious and crispy. My favorite out of the entire meal would have to be the crab cake. It's a big portion size with the choice of a salad or fries to accompany it. The crab soup comes out hot, full of flavor and cheesy. The mussels weren't that great to me. Lacked flavor. Happy hour here is the place to be!!! I've tried almost everything on the happy hour menu for literally $70 bucks. Worth the try. Go check them out.
Loch bar for brunch! We arrived just after opening, and were seated right away. Location is clean, and the impressive raw bar is visually stunning. Ordered Smoked Salmon Benny, Crab Cake Benny, and Lemon ricotta pancakes, and a side of pork sausage. Bennies default to a side salad but was able to sub breakfast potatoes that were perfectly crispy. Crab cakes were A+. Service was good, but slow to start - could have been because they had just opened. Double-check your Uber address for this, I ended up with a 10 minute walk!

Loch Bar was a very appreciated and beautiful stop before attending the Jill Scott concert. Would love to come back for their happy hour when I visit Philly again. The design and style of the inside is beautiful! Bright & clean and centrally located. Our server was spectacular. So friendly but not overly if that makes sense. My absolute favorite bites were the shrimp scampi...10/10. Please get! & the oysters, both raw & roasted did not disappoint at all. Can skip the lettuce wraps honestly! We only grabbed one cocktail but based on the flavor and booze-iness...yes and yes. Loch bar will see me again! read more
The service is always friendly. I find that the food is reasonably priced for the location and a good quality. The restaurant is nicely, decorated crisp, clean lines, simplistic, giving an upscale retro diner vibe. I often go for an early dinner with my cousin who always orders the burger and he loves it. often I ordered the fried potato wedges with caviar. The caviar is just commercial American style. However, the dipping sauce has a nice horseradish, sour cream chive blend is absolutely delicious. I have locations. I have enjoyed the oysters and they have a very extensive bar. The only downside is when you walk in they givegiving the appearance you have to have a reservation to all of these empty seats? The host looks around aimlessly then they see you. 45 minutes later there are still many open tables?! What I return? ABSOLUTELY! read more

I had a mixed experience at loch bar and would return only for the soup. Pros: -cream of crab soup is amazing. Genuinely one of my favorite dishes I've had in Philly so far. -Happy hour deals decent Cons: -bar area is extremely crowded. There is no space between the seats at all. -burger I had was extremely dry. It wasn't just a not great burger it was one of the worse burgers I've had to eat, and I don't know how you make a burger that dry not intentionally. It was very difficult to eat Overall, happy hour deals are good. The burger was genuinely so awful but the soup was amazing. Would return just for the soup read more

This is my go to place when I want to have a good meal and cocktail after work. Visited on a Wednesday evening 7P. Unfortunately had to wait approximately 5 minutes for Valet to come to the stand from inside the restaurant. Cost for valet $32. Once we were inside, sat quickly and coat check was offered. Music was nice and place was semi-busy. Ordered some oysters which change frequently and a split of champagne. Highly recommend the fried lobster tail and Cobb Salad! read more
The interior is beautiful and spacious and was probably my favorite part of the experience. The food was honestly reallt mediocre considering the high prices. My friend ordered the crab cake and was disappointed. My lobster roll seemed really dry and flavorless but the baby green salad and crab tots were decent at least. We were given dirty glasses and had to ask for new ones. Someone then came and took all our silverware and didn't give us new silverware when our entrees came out. Most of the oysters on their list were not available that day either. I probably would not return as there are plenty of better options around the city. read more
They take care of you here! We had the room in the back with the size of our party. We had a window right on Broad Street. Food came fast for a late night and large party. Very very fresh seafood so order the things you wouldn't normally because they will impress you! I had the crudo. Thinly sliced and fresh. I gobbled it down. The chowder was thick and full of seafood. Side salad has a delicious dressing! Steak frites perfectly cooked and crispy seasoned fries. Little to no fat and a gravy you wouldn't expect but it works! Almost a fancy poutine minus the cheese. Calamari was fresh and flash fried to perfection. Seafood 'boil' was enough for two, plentiful. Came here with co-workers for a birthday lunch. Very comfortable restaurant with brightest classic oyster type bar feel. Service was really attentive and friendly. We had calamari, mussels, and a crab artichoke dip. All were delicious. Steak, salad and salmon options were well portioned and seasoned. Bathrooms were clean. read more
I have been looking to come here for awhile. I took my daughter for her birthday. The ambiance is very nice and I love the decor. The waitress was very nice and gave great recommendations. I also observed other waitresses/waiters and they seemed very nice and attentive. Food was delicious we already knew what we were going for crab cakes. I appreciated that it was actual crab not filling. So good and the bread was soft. The truffle fries were delicious. I will definitely be back. The only thing I didn't care for was how close the two seaters were. To close for my comfort. read more
Had dinner on an early Sunday evening at Loch Bar and they were relatively busy. Started with the Crab Tater Tots which were very good and had the Crispy Peking Duck Breast for the entree, also good. Seating was a little tight (though more space In the booths and in the back of the restaurant) but the service was very attentive and helpful. read more
Loch Bar in Philly was such a beautiful seafood restaurant that we enjoyed recently & it was walking distance from my hotel! The service was a little slow at times, but our waiter was personable & we had a great time. From the cocktails to the bread & dessert, each item we had was delicious! Everything I tried was very flavorful & presented so nicely. There was a dish for everyone, but I personally enjoyed the miso roasted Chilean sea bass the most! The fish was so flaky & perfect with buttery mushrooms that gave it a nice richness. The branzino had a delicious soy lime dressing that reminded me of my favorite Chinese restaurant, but super elevated. The fish & chips were delectable & crispy. I would definitely go back here for more Asian fusion seafood dishes, but their apps can't be missed either! read more
This bar is in a pricey area, but they have a happy hour from 4-6 PM at the bar and patio, which is a nice deal. It gets really crowded and loud on Fridays, and the space is small and tight. The oysters are super fresh with a great kick of Tabasco and lemon. Portions are generous and prices reasonable for happy hour. The Cobb salad was fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. I liked the bar vibe but wish they had a fresh seafood display like Oyster House or Pearl & Mary. It would've added to the experience. read more

If you're thinking about going to Loch Bar, just GO. I went for Happy Hour and loved it. The ambiance in the restaurant was smooth, not too dimly lit, and not overly loud either. Our waitress was nice, although she seemed a bit confused. I ordered the cream of crab soup and oysters. The soup was AMAZING. The oysters were delicious and cooked well. Overall, good service, great food, ok wine. I will return to try the full menu certainly. read more
This is an underrated place for brunch! I was looking for a new spot to try for brunch that I haven't been to before, and Loch bar has really good food! It wasn't too busy and easy to get a table. I ordered the lobster roll, which was great, but they also have several brunch specific dishes too. They have a large cocktail menu, and their drinks were really good! Another great meal at Loch Bar! This is a seafood place (lots of shellfish options and some fish) with a couple land items. This was my 1st lunch here and I was surprised to see that they offer the same menu for lunch and dinner. However, they did offer a prix fixe lunch special where you can choose your appetizer and main course for a set price. Service by Matt was great and a manager even stopped by our table to ensure all was well. The seafood bake and crab tots were delicious! read more

Super cute spot! Came in on Labor Day and it was surprisingly empty but rhat was great for us. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. He was always there when we needed something and made some good recommendations. The oysters were incredible! We got the Loch oyster shooters and they were the best I've ever had. All the food was pretty incredible. Im already planning my next trip back there. And there's valet parking which is always a nice touch! read more

Our server Kira was attentive and very kind. Very helpful in descriptions and provided us with a great experience. On a Thursday late at night, it was moderately busy. Service was fast and our orders came quickly. The restaurant itself is decorated very cutely. I got a pineapple crush and my companion got a whisky sour (with a delicious cherry soaked in whisky) --both were crisp and refreshing. We ordered the crab & artichoke dip. The dip is seasoned well and tastes great. The celery is an interesting choice as an accompaniment with the dip, but the carrots work well. The Maine lobster was quite small for the price. The included fries (upgraded to truffle for $3) were excellent. Crunchy, crispy, soft at times, as well as seasoned to perfection. The lobster roll was good and had a lot of lobster given the size. For oysters, we got a variety of raw. They were all superb! I only wish that we were told which oyster was which, because there were 6 different ones. The standout dish was the gouda tater tots. First time spending time in Loch Bar Philly and had a great time. It's a huge space with a number of seating options as well as individual seats across from the bar. Came for the drink this time will be coming back soon to try some dishes. They have an extensive libations menu and a ton of variety in their whiskeys. Open the pocket book to sip some Suntory Hibiki Japanese whiskey. Delicious. The severs and bar staff really made this a tremendous experience. They accommodated a large party, were highly attentive, and overall just friendly. A+. It was also crowed in a good way.Immaculate vibes! read more
Definitely a treat to visit Loch Bar, Downtown Philly. Definitely upscale restaurant and vibe when you walk in. The restaurant has a strong seafood presence on the menu. I saw gumbo, so I had to try it. I thought it was very tasty and filling. I would definitely have it again. The service was great and the waiters were very responsive. I would visit here again. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. read more
