I ended up getting a flight and liked everything. My server was able to answer most of my questions about which wine came from where. But the food was where they excelled. It was such a nice day on 9/6,wife and I with friends decided to try Saddlehill Winery. Upon arriving the parking lots were packed so we figured inside would be too. There was a check-in area and a figure 12 space area to tasted or get bottles. We asked to be seated outside and were told that after we ate inside we would be able to get seating on the porch/deck, We said that we were here for wines not really food, we were told we could sit outside at the picnic table then and have wine there and order food if we liked. We ordered a steel Chardonnay, a bottle of sweet white and a bottle of scribe. The property is beautiful with many buildings for horses, lamas and sheep. After sitting for a half hour we ordered some foods via code on our picnic table. For came fairly quick but no forks, knives or napkins. We asked the server and he said sure....... Never came back. That is a bad mark on a really good day at a nice place. One think I noticed was there were a lot of young children. read more

Me and my friends really wanted to try this place so we dropped in with no reservation. It was seamless to get a table, but unfortunately the wine tastings were all booked up. That's okay because our server Grace hooked us up! She was very knowledgeable of all of the wines and foods and helped us decide what to order. I ordered the salmon Caesar salad, while my friends ordered the prosciutto flatbread, a charcuterie board and fries for the table. We all got wine flights, of course! It was peak GIRL DINNER! Everything was so good. We ate outside with a great view and took lots of pictures. We ended up buying a couple of bottles of wine to go! Very pretty venue and a good option if you want to try a new winery in the area. I did a wine tasting with three others, and service wise, it was a very nice experience going through the guidance of all the different wines. It would've been nice to have a little bit more than a 1 ounce pour, but it is what it is. The wines were nice. It was a good experience. After the tasting, we decided to sit down for a few small bites of a group. The pretzel nuggets were absolutely buttery, crispy, soft, salty, and amazing! Came here with a friend on a summery weekend afternoon and was able to snag a table indoors without a reservation (though I highly recommend a reservation, especially if you want to sit on the patio or in a shaded outdoor area). They did have tables open on the lawn, but there was no umbrella, so we opted for indoors. They had an expansive food menu and wine selection! My review is based on the food and atmosphere. Came here with a group and we had a preselected menu. The flatbread and chips for the table were good. My Ceasars salad was not good. I didn't like the dressing which I am assuming was homemade. The dressing had a metallic flavor but no real flavor. Too acidic. Now on to my entree. I got the roasted chicken which was well seasoned but a bit dry. The sweet potatoes that came with the chicken were under cooked and the skin still on. Flavor though was good. We ended the meal with dessert. I went with the apple cobbler. This was disappointing. It was just rolled oats and warm pie filling. Service was good. The wine was good and priced accordingly. The food was just OK. Brussel sprouts were good salmon was dry and overcooked but tasty. Also the salmon portion was surprisingly small. Arugula salad was big but the salmon portion was small. The reason I'm giving them a 3 star and not higher is because a diet coke is 4 dollars for an 8 Oz bottle. It's a really small bottle and you have to order at least 2. I did ask why the bottles were so small. I wasn't charged for the second bottle. Shelbi was our wine tasting ambassador and she was great! Very knowledgeable and attentive. Caring and knew her stuff. For dinner, we were accommodated with a round table for 9. Sawyer was our server and she was on it! Took our orders and everything came out timely and accurate. First time at Saddlehill and we decided to do the wine tasting before our meal. For a set price each person was able to taste 6 wines. I'm not a big wine drinker but when I do I prefer sweet wines which is not something that you will find here. Most of the wines are dry or slightly sweet. However it was a fun and tasteful experience. I loved the whole set up with seating inside, on the patio or on the grass. You can see the animals, flowers and vines. On a Beautful sunny day it's a great place to sit back and enjoy the beauty around you. The highlights of our meal were the Brussel sprouts, the arancini (rice balls), the burger and truffle fries - each of these items were cooked perfectly and exploded with flavor. We did enjoy the chicken meatballs and cauliflower au gratin but neither of them stood out and the margarita Flatbread could have used more sauce. The Caesar salad dressing was not to our liking. The Apple dessert was very tasty but could have been better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The biggest complaint was the service. Our waitress was either walking away while we were still talking or was nonexistent. She never re-filled our water, we were completely done our appetizers and we had to track her down to ask to order our lunch. I understand on a Saturday they are busy however there were empty tables around us and if the issue is being short staffed they should have less reservations as poor service really takes away from the overall dining experience. read more

We had reservations for 6:00 PM and had to wait for almost an hour for a table. We did the wine tasting and our Wine Ambassador was Shelbi. This girl was amazing and very informative. By the time we got to our table, we placed our order immediately and we waited a little over an hour for the food. By this time we decided to leave since it was taking too long and that's when our order arrives. Right away, I gave my dinner back to the server because the steak was not well done. My children brought me here to celebrate my birthday and we just ende4d up leaving very frustrated and unhappy. The only reason we came here was because of the reviews. We drove almost 2 hours to get here and it was a total fiasco. What should have been a happy occasion it was not. The wine tasting gets 5 Stars but everything afterwards only 2 Stars. We got the food but had no napkins or silverware and had to get up to go find someone to get it for us. We had a really disappointing experience, especially since it was our first time visiting. We had a 7:45 reservation and still waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The atmosphere was nice but unfortunately everything else was frustrating. Our server first brought a bottle of wine to our table that we didn't order. He then looked confused and said, "Wait, you ordered two sweet flights." Despite that, he brought out only one flight, and it was the wrong one. We clarified three separate times that we had ordered two sweet flights, and when we pointed out the mistake, he asked, "Are you sure?" Service was slow throughout the evening. It took a long time to place our order, we had to ask for water five separate times before receiving it, and our food took about 40 minutes to arrive. We ordered the potato arancini, cheesesteak flatbread, and truffle fries, and everything came out cold and tasted as though it had been sitting for a while before being served. We told our server that the food seemed to have been sitting out and that we would just take it home and reheat it. He brought us togo boxes, but no effort was made to address the issue or offer a solution. Another disappointing aspect of the experience was seeing "guest dissatisfied with dish" on the receipt. That wasn't the reason for the comp. It was provided because the wrong wine flight was brought out after we repeatedly clarified our order, which made it feel as though the mistake was being placed on us instead of being acknowledged. Honestly this was a great find for a beautiful Saturday evening! Service was great, and very attentive. We did some flights and found the sweeter and white wines to be refreshing and tasty. Four 2oz pours were $20, which seems a little steep but honestly typical. For that price I'm used to not liking 1-2 of the wines, but these were all great! The space was really nice, and our waitress/server Jasmin was really great! We also had the loaded potato skins - perfectly crisp, and the prosciutto flatbread which was perfect! They even had a little snag with ordering our dessert and put in the wrong thing (we ordered a cookie, but they brought us the apple cobbler), but they corrected the problem and ended up giving us both. What a beautiful place all around! From when you pull up to the spacious grounds with Alpacas, horses, and possibly other animals, to the toilets - yes, the toilets - lol! I'm always watching my food intake, despite being a total foodie / Yelp "Elite!" I kept my dinner light and healthy. I ordered Brussels Sprouts (best version I've EVER had!), chicken meatballs with ricotta and fig jam (WOW!!!!) and a glass of (delicious) blueberry wine. Everything was off the charts amazingly yummy, albeit small portions. My girlfriend flipped for her salmon dish (over vegetables). I feel like she's now ruined with any other version of it (except for Firebirds)! She's not even a wine drinker, but tried a sip of mine and loved it! The decor inside is slightly modern, very nice and classy, with muted colors and is farm themed for paintings, etc. In the warmer weather, you can dine outside on their lovely patio! Before we left, we both hit the powder rooms - the toilet seats have this hands free seat cover "changer" that changes to a new clean sheet portion when you hover your hand over the blue lit button. I never saw anything like this before - very cool! There's a gift shop at the front of the restaurant that offers many great items (homemade soaps) and swag (lots of teed and teas and of course - WINE!) for purchase. Next time, and yes, there will definitely be a next, I'll be purchasing blueberry wine! With how little I drink, it'll last a good while. Saddlehill is a must!!! read more

Beautiful wide open space in the crowdedness of the South Jersey Philly suburbs. Well decorated and elegant building, and a nice outdoor space on the grass lawn with picnic tables and chairs. My girlfriend and I came here for the first time on a sunny Saturday afternoon in November. We were able to get seats outside in two Adirondack chairs with a small table between us. It was chilly but incredibly pleasant sitting in the sun with blankets while sipping wine and people watching. We each tried a wine flight. I'm no wine connoisseur and wouldn't know a world class wine from jungle juice, but I enjoyed what I had. Our sever, Grace, was fantastic. Incredibly attentive and friendly. I think the only downside was how crowded it was. I'm actually glad we sat outside as it was overpacked and loud inside and much more peaceful out on the lawn. There were a ton of little kids and babies, so be advised if that isn't your thing. Overall we enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to others. read more

If you are looking for the best truffle parm fries this is the place. For $16.00 bucks you get a huge portion. Too much for two. My lady and I got the flat bread. It was decent. And one beat salad which also, was a huge portion. We were able to share the salad. The restaurant has a large open concept, with items at the entrance to buy. A winery right in my town. As if my liver isn't being abused enough! We were lucky enough to land reservations on opening day and subsequently a few times after. While many businesses need a little bit of time to work though kinks, Saddlehilll was running like a well-oiled machine out of the gate (pardon the pun, as there are horses on the property). If you're like me, then you don't enjoy traditional NJ wines. They are often sweet, young, and have an aftertaste that is difficult to identify. Saddlehill will make you rethink NJ wines on every level. The wines are drier, medium to full-bodied, with a smooth finish. Flights are encouraged and you can either create your own or take the guidance from the menu. We've done both and have been duly impressed. Chardonnay is my least favorite varietal, but somehow Saddlehill made me enjoy it. Don't sleep on their snacks and food options, either. The charcuterie board was one of the best I've ever experienced - creamy cheeses and tender meats. Perfect for wine pairing! They have a cute gift shop with wine accessories, clothing, and lovely scented hand creams. Perfect for gift-giving goodies. We haven't experience outdoor seating yet, as our visits were marked with chilly weather. But we are looking forward to experiencing this winery to its fullest! read more

Even though this is a winery, the food is absolutely amazing here. I had my bridal shower here and the service was great. The wine is nice also and they have a great selection! Many are made in-house. They also have a farm and you can see the animals when you are walking to and from your car. We ordered more food and wine which were all brought out quickly. The apple cobbler w/ vanilla gelato was just as delicious as it looks and we shared it as a table!
