Rude, rude, rude! I don't even care what the food taste like. Weary traveler, looking for a bite. No host when I walked in so went to counter and ordered. Tried to sit after getting my food and TOLD I COULD NOT SIT ANY WHERE IN RESTAURANT AS I HAD TAKE OUT. I had just bought the food there and the restaurant was no where near crowded...plenty of seats! read more

Ah-mazing. I'm in an airport for godsakes, and no one expects good food at an airport. Especially not good salad. But this Summer Citrus salad here was terrific. FRESH ingredients: spinach, strawberries, mango, cranberries and more. So good. Also had the very berry yogurt shake. Very good. Nice waiter-Victor. The only problem was, my receipt invited me to take a survey "within the next 3 days" and get $5 of my next visit. I followed the directions on the receipt, which was only to go to their website, and the is no survey link there. Anywhere. Anyway, I like their philosophy with food and they really deliver quality. read more

Waited for the hostess 5 minutes. She is walking guests to their table in slo mo. No hurry here at the airport. They are in their own world. Then she asked me if I had 45 minutes to get in and out. "I only want a cup of coffee and an egg." Doesn't matter. Do they know they are in an airport? read more

A decent place to grab breakfast while waiting for your plane, but nothing remarkable. Sometimes there is a wait for a table, but the line tends to move quickly, and food comes out fast. Service is usually a bit slow beyond the basics- for example, if you'd like a drink refill. However, they have never messed up my breakfast, and everything is moderately priced. I'm sure I'll be back the next time I have some time to kill at BWI and an urge for breakfast! read more

My god people - it's great diner food inside an airport terminal. I think I've been in most airports in this country and the Silver Diner is a rare find amongst the usual food court fare. The menu is awesome - different farm fresh plates I actually look forward too. Sure the service is a hair lax, but damn man...we're in the airport!!!! read more

The Silver Diner is in the Southwest Terminal of BWI. It isn't glitzy but it is a decent place to grab a bite & drink prior to subjecting yourself to the perils of air travel. The food is pretty good for an airport. The menue has a wide variety of foods from salads, burgers, to pancakes. I was there a few years ago and they undercooked my sliders. They replaced them quickly and gave me that meal for free and a coupon for a free meal in the future. I finally used it this past weekend and they honored without question even though no one knew the old manager and the voucher was a bit worse for the wear since it had been in my laptop bag traveling the country with me for a few years. If you have some time to spare it is a good place to check out. read more

5 stars for being an amazing meal option for someone fighting ovarian cancer! I have liked everything I've ever tried here--a burger, the mango vegetarian stir fry, and an omelet (bacon, onions, peppers, cheese). This chain focuses on all natural, hormone and antibiotic free meat, local vegetables, etc. I can't have hormones due to the nature of my cancer, and I appreciate the fact that there are so many options at this diner for me. It's nice to know that when I am flying back and forth between here and Boston to go to my appointments at Dana Farber, there is a place that offers good meal choices for me. The burgers are great, and everything else was good too. Service can be a little slow, but it's always busy due to it being in an airport. Compared to my meal options at other airports, this place is AMAZING. read more

This 50s themed diner is a great place to sit and eat...and to watch the traveling world walk by the window. The service is excellent, our waitress, Jasmine, was full of fun and cheek and kept us entertained during our meal. It is a very nice place. The decor is classic diner, the booths also are classic and each one is fitted with a genuine Seeburg jukebox populated with music from the 'drive-in movie, rock-n-roll era. The food is very good. We had Kickin' Crab soup, and the hearty breakfast, which was very hearty indeed. Sausages, eggs, bacon, fries and all manner of heart stopping, cholesterol dripping, Americana food. The price was low given that rents in the Baltimore Airport must be restrictive. I love this diner and would return without a moment's hesitation. Truly good tucker! read more

I haven't ever reviewed an airport layover meal before, but a few things stuck out about Silver Diner for an airport restaurant, primarily their menu. When I have a longer layover I really like to find a sit down option instead of ordering at a counter. As tempting as the three crab cake places were, I also wanted something a little lighter than a fried ball of fish. My overall experience with Silver Diner server would probably be a three star but I was very impressed with the extensive menu. They claim to source local ingredients for their menu and had a surprising amount of vegetable heavy dishes like Brussels sprouts and portobellos. Along with a vegetarian page and a vegan section, they had a healthy option page with meals below a certain calorie count such as fish tacos and although I usually don't end up ordering off of those sections... I still love when they're included. They have breakfast served all day and the kids menu includes quinoa pancakes? Overall I am impressed with the dining options at BWI and if you have the time I recommend checking out the Silver Diner, they even have crab cakes on the menu! read more

I was sat in Destiny's section....she is awesome!! She was attentive without hovering, took care of an issue with my wine promptly, and all in all super service! Ask for her if you are at BWI. read more

Really good quality and fresh food for an airport. Was surprised to see a diner pop-up with the best ratings while searching for food at BWI. I had the crab cake sliders which were excellent. I thought my coworkers plate looked the best with a bison steak-burger plate. If I'm ever in BWI stuck in a long layover again, I now know where to go. Also, the service was very accomodating and gave us a table next to an outlet so we could charge up. read more

Typically I'm a big fan of Silver Diner. I've eaten at this location before and have enjoyed it. I would have loved to have eaten there today. I sat at the bar around 1:00, the restaurant had customers but no line and plenty of seats available. After 5 minutes of watching the bartender wait on customers without acknowledging me, he stopped in front of me and asked if I had enjoyed my meal?????? I said I had not yet ordered and he said oh, what can I get you. I asked for a coke. I watched him cash out several customers. Bus a couple of plates. Walk by me a dozen times. No coke. Then, after several more minutes. another customer sat down a couple of stools away and this same bartender greeted him immediately, handed him a menu, and immediately got him a drink. At this point I gathered my things and left. What a bizarre experience. read more

I love Silver diner! The miso burger has changed my life, and all of their new vegetarian options. now when I look for new places to live I try to see how far away the Silver Diner is because it accommodates for all times of dining. read more

Really good especially for airport food. Old-time diner atmosphere complete with jukebox selections at your table. Believe it or not, I had my only crab cakes after three days in Baltimore. Very good. My only complaint is with respect to the cole slaw: It is excellent but they only give you a tiny condiment cup of it. Come on...how much does cole slaw cost a restaurateur? I resisted buying a milkshake. But they look awesome (for five bucks, they'd better be). Good service and good food. I will go back next time at BWI. read more

This is a rating for their takeout. If you're in a rush and want a good meal, walk around to the left of the line waiting to be seated (there is always a line), and you'll see a cooler on the left with freshly made wraps and salads. The Cesar Chicken wrap is fantastic. Real food, not processed chicken already made with enough dressing to satisfy most. It's a must try! read more

We had a stop over and had dinner here. Service friendly pleasant attentive. I had a bluecheese burger. They substituted mashed potatoes because the fries are cooked in the same oil as the fish which I have an allergy. It was cooked just as I ordered. My friend had a local dark ale that was poured perfectly and was delicious. We will eat here again on our next stopover. read more

Poor service: Almost missed flight a few mins ago due to very slow service. The folks working at the carry out counter took their own sweet time. Told me 5 mins for shake and then went about chatting and took 15 mins. They could deliver only part of my order and I had to call back later after boarding the flight for a partial refund. Hurried travelers BEWARE! read more

On my way back through BWI for the second time this week I decided to try this diner again. Been in Florida all week so I was kinda sea food burned out. That's why I took this place over Phillips crab house. I was pretty impressed on my first visit Second visit.... Well let just say I had a different server who maybe didn't take the same level of interest in her customers as the first. Never got a refill on my drink. Brought me the wrong pancakes. Food quality was still pretty good overall except bacon was over cooked. Manager delivered our meal instead of waitress. She was most apologetic over the error. She corrected the issue, brought more bacon, (which I never complained about before) so this was like bonus bacon! Wahoo! Them took 10% off my bill. But I never say anyone again until our plates were clean. Hmmmm Ok so food is pretty good Service is inconsistent How do you rate that? I'll go a three star this time read more

Crispy fried Brussels sprouts were amazing. Enough to split with 2 or 3 people. Enjoyed grilled cheese deluxe on sourdough with tomato and bacon. read more

I'll admit, I had pretty low expectations for this place, because, you know, airports. My Bloody Mary was great though, and it's a pretty good deal if you make it a double for $3 (hey, I'm on vacation, gimme a break). I got eggs over easy, home fries and a biscuit. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit was lovely, though the potatoes could have been crispier. All the employees I interacted with were extremely friendly, friendly enough that I'd give them personal shout outs if I hadn't had a double bloody at 8am and forgotten their names already. Sorry everyone! Oh, and there are outlets at nearly every seat including the bar to charge your devices which should be mandatory at airport restaurants in 2017. read more

Had some time to kill before a flight out of BWI so our group stopped here. I asked one of our party if it was a fast food place. His reply, "it's kind of medium," cracked me up. So, the crab cakes were really better than expected for such a venue. Not greasy, not mostly filler, and served hot. The fries were crisp. The IPA brew the server recommended, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, was quite good. The server simply rocked. She was personable, all over the separate check request for travelers on expenses, and she came running down the terminal to return a forgotten boarding pass! If service here is truly inconsistent, we had the very top of the scale. I'll be back. read more

Food was average and late! Customer beside me ordered his food ahead of me and has been waiting at least 30 minutes. The restaurant crowd is light at 8pm on a Monday and the bar service is extremely slow!! There is only one bartender trying to handle bar counter and wait staff. There is no sense of urgency or timing with delivery of food or drinks. So, if you have time - come to this diner in the airport (prices are what you expect). Whatever you do, stay away from the crab sliders. read more

I stopped in here to grab a bite before spending way too long on a plane. I was surprised at how efficient and modern their operation was - they've got electronic gizmos, ordering boards, and waitresses with PDAs! The food is good and very reasonably priced for an airport. I had the sliders basket, which had 3 really tasty burgers with a side of grilled onions (a good idea). Fries were better than average, too. And I admit it - I had a chocolate malt. So if you're stuck at BWI waiting for the inevitable cattle-car experience that is modern airline travel, you could do worse than stopping for a bite at the Silver Diner. PS - I'm Yelping from an airplane! Southwest has wifi on some flights. 5 stars for Southwest! read more

I'd just finished a visit to my home state and didn't get the chance to have a Maryland crab cake. At BWI, I finally found what I was looking for in the Silver Diner. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, hold the tartar sauce, coleslaw, and roll (I really just wanted a crab cake!). The crab cake was almost pure lump (though not jumbo lump) crab, with a little seasoning mixed in and no shell. It came with fries, and I kept those. They were crispy, hot, and lightly seasoned with Old Bay. My lunch was $2 - $4 less than any other crab cake sandwich I've found at BWI. I sat at the bar, so the service was fast. I was in and out in 30 minutes, although I never felt rushed. read more

For an airport restaurant, this place is impressive. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and were seated promptly. They kept our baby stroller in mind as they choose our seat. The server was really friendly and had her timing down. The decor was typical diner, but it really makes you forget you are in an airport. Flight status screens were helpful. The food was good, I got a turkey panini and fries. Wife got chicken fingers. read more

Color me crazy but I really enjoyed my meal here! I've worked in airports for almost 30 years and I still brown bag my lunch because airport food costs a small fortune and usually tastes like crap. Apparently I never ate at the Silver Diner because this place served some very fine burgers, salads and drinks! In addition to the fresh and perfectly cooked food we had fantastic cocktails and fabulous service at the bar. And, the prices were reasonable! So, trust a seasoned flier on this one- the Silver Diner is the place to hurry up and wait for your flight! read more

Silver Diner - Diners Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

This place was a disappointment for food, value and service. Maybe the great decor and really inviting menu set my expectations too high. Every thing sounded local farm to table fresh and a step above the ordinary But you still have to execute. So my fish tacos with a citrus salad sounded good but they were a mess. Random dollops of salsa and Ranch type dressing did not help.... Also, it was so wet, you could barely pick it up. The citrus salad was just way too acidic with nothing to offset the acidity. Plus no other seasoning on the salad. My partner's turkey dinner was pretty boring and I would note that the corn tasted like it came out of a can.... Really high school cafeteria style. It's just jarring after reading up in their menu about all of their locally sourced, farm to table goodness. Service was spotty.... A side of fries didn't show up.. We asked the runner and she said she would check..... never came back. To our server's credit, when she stopped by and we mentioned it.... She got it right away. So pretty disappointing.... I know I was in an airport but if your going to put up great quotes outside about the 'great' food inside.... You should actually deliver on that. I soothed myself afterwards with a Pinkberry from the food court. read more

Stopped in here for lunch during a layover. Sat at bar and was immediately told by server, Shayna, there was no ice. We stayed anyway. After getting our drinks with no ice we noticed a server delivering drinks that did have ice to a nearby table. I mentioned that to Shayna and she said "nobody told me". I asked if she could have someone get ice for her station and she completely ignored me. She was all consumed with satisfying her OCD issue by lining up glasses in perfect rows, arranging bottles in her specific order, etc. A coworker came over and dumped a bucked of ice into her ice sink and she didn't offer us any. Got the check and left ASAP. Not a pleasurable experience and would not recommend. read more

After waiting (while able to see my food on the counter for a lengthy period of time) we refused the food and left. While we were waiting on our food, we could see the waitress in the back (she was taking a lengthy break and having a snack - no hand washing observed either). Would not go back. Did seek out the manager to give some polite feedback/coaching. read more

Food was decent, but maybe slightly overpriced (although it's in an airport, so. . .). Crabcakes were nicely done, with fragrant tarragon inside and well crisped outsides. Fries were seasoned with Old Bay, which was a nice touch with the crabcakes. read more

I'm really happy that the silver diner is here in BWI. Why not five stars? because it's a reduced menu compared with the non-airport silver diner locations. The means that if you are a regular you might not get what you want! But the food they do offer is wonderful. read more

I had the salmon sliders and they were excellent! Fish cooked perfectly! Large pieces of salmon too. Bun was hot and soft, great combination of flavors. The citrus salad was very fresh and complimented the sliders perfectly. An excellent find of healthy well prepared food in an unlikely place. Located within the BWI airport, this is a nice place to grab some real food and sit in a comfy seat while waiting for your flight. Surprisingly, the service here is pretty good. We only ordered a milk shake and sat there for 2 hours. I asked for another straw too. We never felt rushed or that our waitress was annoyed. It was really nice. I gave her extra tip for our extended stay. When we left, the hostess was chatting with us. Very friendly. read more

I've had mixed experiences at this place. When they are good they're good, but when they're not... Want an order of pancakes 45 minutes before your flight? They've got you covered. We got our flapjack fix and still made it in time to catch our plane. They also have some of the best (and correctly prepared) scrambled eggs and cheese that I have ever had outside of my own kitchen. I do not like when people scramble eggs and then plop a Kraft single on top of it and call a day. Not only is that lazy as hell (seriously, how long does it take to mix the two together?), but who wants to eat scrambled eggs, featuring cheese? You can keep that. As a non-pork eater, I love love LOVE that they not only have turkey bacon but chicken sausage patties! CHICKEN. SAUSAGE. No more subbing pork products for extra home fries! Hooray for meat!! Warning: Don't sit at a table without "permission". Some of the staff might catch an attitude. After waiting at the host station for about 5 minutes, I figured I'd seat myself (since there was no one there to do it for me and since the restaurant wasn't that busy). As one of the servers walked by, I excused myself and politely asked her for a menu. This heifer sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes at me, nastily (and loudly) telling me that if I want to eat here, that I have to get up from the table and go back to the host stand and wait for someone to seat me. I informed her that there was no one at the host station and that I had been waiting for someone before I sat down. She still refused to bring me a menu and walked off. My patience with this child raising her voice at me was QUICKLY waning- she was VERY lucky that my impending vacation had me in a relatively decent mood, otherwise this situation may have ended poorly for her. I promptly took my money to one of the many other establishments in the airport where I was sure I wouldn't have to teach someone else's child some respect. read more

Wide selection of diner type foods as well as healthy options. The restaurant is spacious so there is usually always a table or seat at the bar available. My husband and I recently came here during a layover. My fish and chips were decent. Not super flavorful, but decent and not too overpriced. My husband got a club sandwich and it was huge; he also enjoyed the taste. The servers seemed to try to rush us a bit even though the place wasn't busy. Overall, though, not bad for a quick airport meal. read more
