Silver Diner has got to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Arlington. It's so incredibly veggie friendly, especially since I don't really like having a sweet breakfast. There are always so many options that are vegan or easily customizable and the food always tastes so fresh. This time, I got the Thai cauliflower quinoa pasta which was incredibly light and tasty. My fiancé got the California omelette which was great too! I love Silver Diner, I'll definitely be back :)

Called ahead and was surprised by the quoted wait time. Once we arrived we waited maybe 10 minutes. I expected it to be way more packed on a Saturday at lunchtime. Service was ok. The hostess was friendly but our server was kind of cold. No greeting or checking in during the meal. Just took our order and then didn't comeback until we flagged her down at the end for our check. We came here specifically for the vegan options offered. Good portion sizes and we were happy with how everything was cooked. Nothing tasted greasy or too salty. I took home half of my California omelette and sides. I liked the classic diner interior. The dining area and restrooms were clean. I would definitely come back here again.

I've been dining at various silver diners for 20 years. Dined here at the Arlington location for post thanksgiving breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the service and hospitality provided by the staff given how busy they were. The host was quick, pleasant and efficiently sat us exactly as we requested. Our server was funny, informative and friendly. Our food (images attached) was fresh, hot and tasty! Give their mimosa flight a try (4 flavors to choose from for only $19.99!)

I have been to quite a few silver diners in my time. Each one has incredible aesthetics and good food. This one in particular is similar to the rest in that sense. But with the Arlington flair that I have come to be used too. The restaurant itself is located in a nice part of town. The outdoor seating is exceptional. I love being able to sit outside in the quaint area and see all the dogs walk past. I tried Shakshuka for the first time and it was absolutely incredible. Made it for myself a few days later when I got home. Would come again.

Silver Diner never disappoints. A solid brunch, lunch, breakfast, dinner, or late night snack location for whatever you might be craving. My most recent venture out was for a brunch with the family, and while they can be picky at times there was no risk of that here. I got a staple order of Corned Beef Hash with sunny side up Eggs and really enjoyed mixing it all together to capture the saltiness of each combined piece. The location is big, with booths for any sized party it seems. Service was good, just note if you go during a popular time your order might get to you a little slower.

Diner-like ambience, but everything looked new. Some of the tables weren't cleaned very well after being bused. Excellent service. Dorothy was courteous and attentive. The chicken fried steak and side of bacon were okay. Good coffee.

Overall I've enjoyed this place! I do wish the food was a little more traditional diner and a little less new age but overall it's delicious. Good service, good quality food at a good price. Location is fantastic, because you can get shopping done at Target next door before or after.

Solid go-to brunch spot! My out of town friends absolutely love this place and always ask to come here when they're in Arlington. We've had mixed service and the latest time I went our waitress was pretty rude but the food is always great still. I got the avocado toast and it was great!

Was in the area and needed to have breakfast so stopped by one of staple spots. I think I been to this location one time before and as always the service was great. I see they had a new menu item which was the Açaí bowl so gave it a try and it was pretty good. Overall a great experience with no complaints. Always a good relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a food breakfast.

Stopped in for a casual brunch at the Silver Diner in Arlington. The vibe is classic diner with a modern twist -- clean, family-friendly, thought not busy at all during weekday hours. We started with the cheese fries, which came out somewhat cool and not well portioned, and a bit on the salty side. For mains, we had the Lumberjack pancakes and the California omelette. The pancakes were fluffy and filling, though nothing particularly standout. The omelette was fresh and well-prepared, with the avocado and salsa giving it a nice flavor boost. We also ordered a side of vegetables, which was a nice lighter option to balance out the meal. Service was polite and efficient, though there were a few moments where we had to flag someone down for reminders. Overall, it was a solid, no-frills meal. Good for a casual breakfast or brunch if you're in the area, but not necessarily a destination spot.

I came by here for a quick brunch on the weekend. It was packed with people sitting indoors and outdoors so I figured this would be a great place to enjoy a meal. I was able to go in and find a table in the back. The waiter came by quickly and offered their house specials and other options. I decided to start off with their cold brew which came locally from the Compass Coffee nearby. The coffee was good but I wish they offered free refills because it went by very quickly. I ordered the California omelet which seemed to be one of the more healthier options. It came with whole wheat bread and a side of fruit. Everything was good and filling. I enjoyed the bread and the fruit more than the omelette somewhat. Then I was able to pay the bill at the table and head on my way home. This place seems okay but I think I would try out the True Food or Ted's Bulletin for breakfast next time.

Absolutely delicious food! We were both so impressed with how fresh everything was. The second I cut into my pancakes, steam was coming out. Really appreciated that even though it was busy, our food came out right away. You get a LOT of food for the price. This is awesome. Also check out all the deals they offer! Weekday breakfast for example is dirt cheap. Our waiter was nice and friendly. Had great energy. Huge restaurant with plenty of seating. Kept very clean.

Shocked by the lower reviews because I enjoyed this place! The waiter couldn't have been nicer and he even made a delicious latte with a heart on top. My French toast was yummy and wasn't drenched in salted caramel which was nice. They also do egg whites which always adds a point in my book. I liked the diner aesthetic and felt like I traveled back in time but not in a bad way. I'll be back!

The restaurant was clean, bright, airy, and vibrant, with a trendy atmosphere that we absolutely loved. We started with the cornbread, which had a lovely texture, somewhere between traditional coarse cornbread and a sweeter version. It was tender, delicately baked, and served with delicious butter. I ordered the three-egg omelet, accompanied by a beautiful, fragrant, and refreshing arugula salad that I thoroughly enjoyed. The eggs tasted farm-fresh. My mate enjoyed a full breakfast of beef sausage, bacon, potatoes, over-easy eggs, and a biscuit. The coffee was hot and delicious, and my hot matcha was equally enjoyable. One small tip: specialty drinks ordered from the drink bar may take a little longer to arrive at your table, so keep that in mind. Our server was excellent, and the overall experience was wonderful. We were happy to leave a 25% tip for the great service. Between the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive staff, this was an thoroughly enjoyable breakfast. We loved it and would gladly return!

Disappointing First Visit -- Unfortunately, I Won't Be Returning…read more I was genuinely excited to finally visit Ruthie's All-Day in Arlington after hearing so much about the restaurant. Unfortunately, my first experience was disappointing, especially considering how much I was looking forward to it. We started with Harry's Hot Hushpuppies, made with shrimp and jalapeño. They arrived nice and hot, and the batter was crispy, which I appreciated. The flavor was decent, although I think a different dipping sauce would have complemented them better. Overall, they were okay. For my entrée, I ordered Ruthie's Big Plate. I specifically requested my eggs scrambled soft with cheese. Unfortunately, they arrived without the cheese and were not cooked the way I requested. The beef sausage was another disappointment. After taking one bite, I found the texture unusually soft and mushy, almost as though it hadn't been cooked thoroughly. I couldn't enjoy it. The bacon, however, was excellent! The portion was generous, and the flavor was really good. It was honestly one of the highlights of my meal. Unfortunately, the breakfast potatoes were the complete opposite. They were dry, lacked seasoning, and had very little flavor. I did enjoy the grits, which were another positive. My husband ordered the fried chicken biscuit. I tasted his chicken, and it was extremely salty. There was a sweet honey glaze that helped balance the saltiness somewhat, but the salt was still overpowering. The biscuit itself was just okay. I did speak with the manager about my experience, and I want to acknowledge that she was very apologetic and offered to have something else prepared for me. I appreciated her professionalism and willingness to make things right. However, I declined because my husband was already eating, and by the time another meal arrived, he would have been finished. I didn't want him sitting there waiting while I ate. For me, dining out is about more than just the atmosphere or a restaurant's reputation. The food should be flavorful, properly prepared, and served as requested. Unfortunately, too many items fell short during this visit. I really wanted to love Ruthie's All-Day, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. I hope management takes this feedback constructively because there is definitely room for improvement in the consistency, seasoning, and preparation of the food. I also want to acknowledge the manager's effort to make things right. She came back over to check on us again, and a server brought us complimentary apple donuts with cookies and cream ice cream. I must say, the cookies and cream ice cream was absolutely delicious! When I spoke with the manager again, she told me, "I didn't want you to leave dissatisfied." I genuinely appreciated her saying that and, more importantly, making the effort to turn our experience around. I even told her that the ice cream was my "happy place" because I enjoyed it that much! Although I was disappointed with several aspects of our meal, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. The manager was attentive, sincere, and genuinely concerned about our experience. Her hospitality did not erase the issues we had with the food, but it certainly made a difference in how we felt leaving the restaurant. I truly appreciate her kindness and willingness to make things right, and I felt it was only fair to acknowledge that in my review. So I changed it to 3 stars for the effort to make things better.

Just like it's other branches, Bob & Edith's Diner serve breakfast food anytime of the day. You have a choice of chocolate chip hotcake, blueberry hotcake, pecan waffle or waffle with blueberry toppings. Like my review of its other location, their food was good and reliable. Our server was distracted though. When I ordered my food, he did not say that I had a choice between bacon, sausage, or ham. He said, "It comes with bacon. Is that okay with you?" To other customers who do not know that they have options, they would probably just say yes or no. Since I knew, I had him change it. When it came to payment, we were offering 3 credit cards to divide the check. However, he initially just got one of ours but before he reached the register he realized he only got one of our cards so he went back. He then gave each one's check one at a time with only a pen for everyone. Nevertheless, would still give this spot a 4/5.

I was surprised by how empty it was for a holiday evening, actually just as strange by how vacant and empty the whole area was. This used to be a very busy area. I started with a White Russian milkshake and it was quite good. Again, that happy hour pricing really made it worth it. My meal was the chicken and biscuits. Large biscuits, fresh, with a little honey and hot drizzle. The hash browns were a tad dry and didn't quite fit the meal I thought, but the chicken biscuits were good. Enjoyed those. BUT one point that was quite annoying: THE GRAVY COST EXTRA! The server tried to upsell me with the sausage gravy (+$3) but when I asked if that cost extra he demurred and said it was just something they asked. He wouldn't actually confirm that. Not cool. I don't like being upsold like it's McDonalds. Eating off my friend's plate I also liked the french fries that came with his steak and cheese sandwich. We also had the cornbread appetizer. Again, if not for that happy hour pricing.. Cornbread is uber cheap so getting four fingers of cornbread felt.. well.. not quite a value match. Service was a little hit or miss. We had a lot of people helping us it seemed, kind of a divided table. Everything is there but I'm just not used to the inflation pricing. Milkshake, cornbread, and the chicken and biscuits, with 20% tip, came out to over $40. This kind of food, at this level of service, .. I feel like I was overcharged or not given the happy hour pricing on something. This just didn't feel like $40 for one person. And they want to do everything on the machine and you don't actually get a paper receipt or a bill unless you ask for one. Which you should. I guess bottom line: Ted's is expensive for it's class and offerings, so it makes a good date spot, but for regular eating out I think there are places better priced.

The weight was super busy, but we were able to meet a couple on the way in who had a reservation. When we got up to the front, we noticed that the couple ran to the counter at the bar and got seats. When we asked the hostess, how long the wait for a party of two would be she said one hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. I had to catch my flight so we definitely could not wait that long. Right when we were about leave and walk away, the very kind and nice couple (Montez & Alayna) that we met walking up, told us that they had secured bar seats and that we could take their breakfast brunch dining reservation. THIS WAS A BLESSING! I purchased their first round of drinks because they were generous with their reservation. There are great people in this city, thanks! We were seated right away at a dining table, and the place was packed, as usual. Our server was wonderful. I believe her name was Alisha or Aisha, and she took care of us very well. We ordered: Naan Bread Appetizer, Blueberry Pancakes with Mascarpone, side of chicken sausage, Creme Brûlée French Toast, side of scrambled eggs, and side of Hash browns. Highly recommend the sweet potato parker house rolls and red-skin mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy. Chicken parm florentine was good (the pasta it came with was especially luscious and delicious). The vanilla milkshake we got to go was a perfect dessert, not too sweet but just sweet enough with sprinkles. Only thing that was just fine were the crabby deviled eggs. I just felt they needed more of the classic egg yolk/mayo mix on top of/in combination with the crab. Partner got a version of a manhattan that was smokey and very well made.
