If I could give zero stars I would! I ordered my suppressor directly from dealer. It was mistakenly sent to Silencer Shop (since I had done all my paperwork through SS) instead of my range in Houston. A miscommunication between myself and dealer. I take responsibility. I immediately called SS to ask them if they could send it to my range in Houston asap and was told they would have to resubmit paperwork to ATF and that it would take an additional few weeks. I was told it would ship on to Houston asap. Not ideal but fine, it was my mixup. I then called weeks later to see if they had sent it to Houston yet. I spoke to one gentleman who did not know what was going on and wanted to get a manager. After sitting on hold for 20 mins for said manager, I hung up and called back. When speaking to the next person, they had no record of my last conversation, only to tell me the same exact thing as the last guy, weeks earlier...they would have to resubmit paperwork and it would be an additional 4 weeks. Now, instead of waiting 7 months for a suppressor, I would be looking at 9-10 months. I told them to forget it, I will drive to Austin rather than wait ANOTHER month. So frustrating. Do not use their systems. Purchased a trust through them and they left out key details in their instructions invalidating the point of the trust an now will cost me $600 in tax stamps instead of the tax exempt status I should be getting. They admitted they could have updated the instructions to include a single additional sentence that would have resolved the problem but didn't. They also admitted that this is a problem they keep seeing and failed to make changes. They are refusing to either pay the tax stamps to allow me to use the trust or to refund the price of the trust since I now have to file as an individual. They transferred me to a manager who sent me to voicemail after being on hold for 2+hours. Pissing off a Marine and screwing him over over $130 seems like a terrible business decision especially after admitting to the knowing of the issue and failure to correct. I had plans to use them for other NFA items but now I refuse to give them any business. read more

I am VERY disappointed with this transaction. Is this a business you are running or some half baked used car dealership. After today it sure feels like a REALLY used car dealership.... Several issues: I submitted the paperwork via your web page, but it did accepted it even though the confirmation page showed it was accepted. Next, Your page does not accept single page PDF even though your sales people believe they do. Also doesn't take .jpg (photos). They still think it does. The transaction for the Sig is causing a lot more heartburn than this is worth. Your sales person convinced me on this model simply for the fact (regardless of price of other models) that the Sig SRD762TI-QD would meet my needs and satisfy the criteria of not being back ordered, would produce a S/N prior to the July cut-off and would suppress to levels I need. When I showed up today, the guy told me something COMPLETELY different then the guy who sold me the hardware. It occurs to me that the FOUR interactions I have had with the Silencer Shop have netted FOUR different stories. One was a phone call regarding setting up my NFA trust and what I needed to do when I was ready to purchase suppressors from your company, second and third were two in store visits looking and selecting the right hardware, and today. Today, the crap hit the fan and all the misinformation (or lies how ever you want to call it) came out. The guy today did a great job blowing off what the sales person said and even went so far as to say he didn't know what he was talking about I am happy to spread my experiences as the clown today did nothing but tick me off and prompt this action. Terrible customer support, you will be on hold for hours and hours. I placed multiple orders mid December and had my cans form 3'd to my dealer in late December. Have been waiting to have my forms submitted ever since. My dealer "Point Blank Range" in Matthews NC has been having issues submitted for months now and no one from SilencerShop has been able to get them to submit my forms. As a customer I am absolutely disgusted at the fact that everyone else has been having their forms submitted and some have been APPROVED by the time it has even taken my dealer to setup ANYTHING. Will never be using these guys again. read more

This is the only place in Texas where you can just walk in, hold in your hand and take apart products that you normally have to buy exclusively from pictures on the web. Even better, the guys who work here know their products (and boy do they have A LOT of product) and can tell you which one is better for your needs and which is best for your equipment...an absolute must if you are going to drop hard earned money and wait serious time before you get your suppressor. And, no, the delay is not due to the shop, since they have to give you a serial number immediately, which means they have to have the product on hand, but rather because it takes that long for the paperwork. Seriously, though, if you have to fill out paperwork, you want these guys to help you. They understand those complicated forms like no other people do. They can help make the process as simple for you as possible. But the best part for me, is just getting to hear some of the questions that some patrons come in with. " Is this legal?" I know that this new rollout of electronic filing is supposed to be time saving and the way to go, but what a farse. While watching the spinning things on the screen there is a message that says "this headache free submission is brought to you by SilencerShop" or something similar, what a farse finally after a week or trying one of my silencers went through, but apparently the 2nd one has an issue with the tax stamp purchase, of which it states that it was cashed on that silencer a couple days previous in one of my attempts to process. And trying to get help,.... forget it. We were on hold for over 3 hours one day, have left call back numbers with no return call, live chat - not a chance, and they wont even get back to my dealer. What's the deal? I would appreciate a call back to either me or the dealer. I can only hope that this gets better, but time will tell. Not that this will help, but call me. read more

Don't normal leave bad reviews but just want others to know what they are getting into... the main reason why i went with silencer shop for my silencer is the ease of the paper work process and purchase with their kiosks. Unfortunately turned into a nightmare after that... after a long wait with the ATF i finally got my silencer (obliviously that have nothing to do with silencer shop), but i when i got home i realize that the adapter on silencer was boxed wrong... you probably could understand how sad i was because my silencer was sitting at the store for 11 months but no one cared to double check if the right thing was in the box while/before the ATF paper work was being done.. so i contacted silencer shop right away, they told me to shipped my adapter back and as soon as they get mine they will ship the right one back to me. This is where the problems started... i shipped it back the very next day after about THREE weeks i haven't hear anything back, i emailed them about it and was told my adapter was back ordered... mind you they got my adapter couple days after i shipped but no one contacts me about the back order for THREE weeks i am sure i would have never known that if i did follow up. So TWO months go by with no update more email was send they the always tell me couple more weeks, i gave them another SIX weeks still the same answer. So after three months of waiting i took the matter into my hand and contacted the manufacture myself. They told me it will be at least another 2-3 months before they will be going into production, so at this point i went online to look for the part myself after 10 mins of searching i was able to find it online, the part was $99 so i contacted Laurie which is the shipping manager at silencer shop who had been working on my case to see if they are willing to reimburse me if i ordered the part myself, since it doesn't seem like they have the ability to solve it. They agreed and i went ahead and ordered the part. Once i got the adapter i send them the invoice for the reimburse about a week later i got a check in the mail and i was for $75.. WTH... mind you they knew the price before i ordered and they AGREED to the reimbursement. Laurie's explanation was the part would have cost them $75 at wholesale lol... i guess after giving them 3 months+ to solve the problem with their wholesale connection that didn't get anywhere was not good enough.. I sure hope Laurie the shipping manager are in charge of making decision like that to piss off customers. That being said i DEFINITELY WOULD NOT BUY FROM Silencer Shop AGAIN, i advise other to be careful as well if they decide to deal with Silencer Shop. read more

I called about this and they said nothing could be done. STAY CLEAR!!!!!! They have grown too big for their own good. Stay away!!! I bought a suppressor from them and it took over a month for them to submit the paperwork to the ATF!!!! Worse part, they are only about a mile away from me! They tout a faster more efficient process, however, now instead of waiting the excruitiating 7 month ATF backlog I have to wait 8. I came in in person and went through their "high tech" paperwork technology. If I hadn't checked in on my paperwork (at least 3 times throughout that month) to make sure they were working on it I'm sure it would have gone a lot longer ... it's funny, every time I would check in they would come up with something else I needed to provide. stay clear everybody!!!!! read more

I purchased a suppressor in September of 2016, Silencer Shop did not even send my paper work to the ATF until 3 months later. They said that my paperwork was flagged for internal review, (for 3 months) sure. It is now September of 2017 and still not word. I must have sent a dozen emails over the 3 months to get them to get my order going. Once they get your money there is no long a need for a since of urgency. You should not have to pay these companies till you get your merchandise, I am fine with paying the tax stamp and all but when you also pay for a $1,200.00 suppressor and tax stamp and all then they sit on their rear for 3 months, it's ridiculous. I will be looking for a new deal for my next purchase. read more

I make that 4 hour drive from my town to Austin, Tx to see these guys anytime I have a need or the time to check out all the new silencers. You won't find a better shop if you are looking to suppress a pistol or rifle, or a better bunch of guys if you are new to the silencer game. The guys there will give you the low-down, to help you avoid some common pitfalls. Mike is a good guy, but anyone of the guys Ive talk with at Silencer shop will jump right in to help you: Oh, and they are one of the few places that will let you touch and see the can before you buy it. They have video reviews of the products they carry, so you can make an informed choice. The whole NFA process can be confusing, but they do a great job of simplifying everything so it's easy peasy! The vendor took my money and didn't turn in my paperwork for 13 months. When I called to check times was blown off told it would take 10-12 months until I asked for the info to call the ATF and track it myself. When called on it the silencer shop blamed the vender and the vender blamed the slinger shop. And know one has apologized or offered anything to make it right. No one cares how this may have affected my business. I have had issues every time I have purchased from the silencer shop. read more

Great experience. Searching and purchasing were easy. You do pay a premium price for certain items using this site, but the premium is worth it because of the ease of purchasing NFA items. Only thing I wish was better is the inventory visibility. Some items will not show as even being on the site at times, but they have been prior and will be again a few weeks later. Avoid these guys at all costs!!!! Over 2 years ago I ordered a silencer from these guys and it's been keystone cops ever since! I was told to expect a 9 month wait, and it would've been close to that if their "preferred" local dealer hadn't moved out of the state without telling anyone! That put me back at the end of the line for another 9 month wait. But, they assured me that they would work to expedite the process and that with 4 months I could expect my can. Well, needless to say they've strung me along with a series of promises and excuses to well over 2 years now, and when I ask for my refund they act like they're doing me a favor! SERIOUSLY? These guys are supposed to be the pros. Their dealer network has been completely in control of the item from day 1, why should I be waiting for my refund a MONTH later?? I didn't screw this up. So I call the ATF to check the status and they reply "we don't have anything with your name on it." Are you kidding me, the Silencer Shop never sent the paperwork off. On hold for over a week with ZERO customer service. Customers have been lied to and told the forms were submitted all the way back to 11-2021. Even showed in process on old silencer shop portal. Until they launched there own botched abortion that links to Eforms. None of the forms were submitted, and rolled over to the non-working turd that complicated the process. As a dealer I am being told I have to prepare and Certify paperwork for a service that SilencerShop charged customers for already for and subtracted that fee from my payment. Never again Silencer Shop. If you are the only dealer that has the can I might order it direct for the customer. NEVER BUY A CAN ONLINE FROM THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE THEM SHIP TO YOUR DEALER AND DO FORMS AT YOUR LOCAL SHOP!!!!! read more

They used to have great service, prices and quick as anyone could be with the ATF involved in turning around permits. However they have outgrown their service, no longer distribute through their storefront and batch send the Forms to ATF which takes longer (i.e.- I bought 2 other suppressors from 2 different shops weeks after buying one from Silencer shop and got both at least a month before the Silencer Shop one was approved). They now only distribute/outsource through other Gun Shops which caused prices to go up. If I'm going to pay more for less service, I'm going back to the other shops were I'm a valued customer vs. "just one more sale to the masses." read more

Three years ago had good experience, wait time on ATF approval--120 days had to be a record, then ordered two more a .45 and a .22 ---3 months later they called and said I needed to come back in to fill out forms again, WTH??? Took a total of 15 months, then the .45 would not thread on to my Ed Brown custom .45 threaded barrel and they blamed the barrel. Said it was no way their piston was the problem . I took the gun and can to The Range in South Austin , they looked at it and changed out the piston with a silencerco piston and it threaded right on. The Range gave me the piston FREE, the Silencer shop did NOTHING to make it right! I will be taking all of my future business to The Range. Never going back to Silencer shop. read more
