I called them to see if they would be interested in buying some pistols I had decided to sell. They said they would so I packed them up and drove over to their store. They took them into the back then came back 10-15 minutes later. These pistols are safe queens in mint condition. The price they quoted me for all of them was not even a lowball, it was an outright insult. I'm not new to buying and selling guns and I was willing to leave some room for them to make decent money. That wasn't good enough for them. With a straight face they tried to rip me off. They are either unscrupulous thieves or grossly incompetent. For ref., one of the pistols was an Ed Brown EC which retails for around $3200. Plus a Dan Wessen, Colt, and S&W. They offered $1900 for all four pistols. I brought my Romanian PSL-54c to get a full customization on it because I didn't like the way it looked. So I took it to Guns Plus in Georgetown to get the work done. I talked to Kyle Simank who was the gentleman that did the work on it, and he did an amazing job and it was everything I wanted and more. I took my gun to guns plus for repair My gun was already under warranty but the reason why I took it to them because I thought they will have faster service than if I sent it to the factory After guns plus taking forever to fix it they finally sent it to the factory without telling me which took more time Finally I got my gun back with the same problem and Guns plus charged me for nothing And they kept arguing that they spent time on it but unfortunately there time didn't worth anything because they didn't fix the gun and they sent it to the factory This store is horrible and people there aren't honest and regret taking my there to fix it!!! read more

My wife and I recently visited the store to purchase a new pistol for her to conceal carry. she was looking at a variety of pistols and was taking her time. the associate working the counter was very patient and instructive, he showed her a variety of compact automatics and walked her through each one. he spent at least 45 minutes with us and was very knowledgeable and helpful. he offered a variety of pointers and helpful demonstrations which helped her choose one she was comfortable with. This was not our first purchase with this store, and yes they are slightly higher on some things but the service more than made up for that! I believe the employee went by Martin... Lot's of options in store and if they don't have it they can order it with free shipping. Prices are competitive especially if you're looking for ammo. After calculating in hazmat shipping and handling for purchasing ammo online it is usually the same price or more online vs buying here in store. Everyone is super knowledgeable and will help you out. Many perks of shopping here and you're supporting a local business! My personal experience at Guns Plus was amazing! Grant was the awesome person who helped me. I went in for ammo, spare mags, cleaner and information on range training classes and LTC courses. He was super friendly and encouraging, as I'm a new gun owner. And just like that I was signed up for my range train session and LTC course which is coming up. Nice!! :-)) Grant is also a superb instructor with patience, and a ton of knowledge and expertise. He's down to earth with the perfect amount of humor while keeping the seriousness of handling and knowing your firearm. Not only did my shooting improve right there, I now have tools that will help me in my ongoing practice. The time was priceless and worth every penny!! Get any quotes for work done in writing. Quoted me a price then doubled it when I was checking out. Told me it was a fast service, which it was, but saw in here some other people had integrity questions with the business. I'll go elsewhere in the future. Had an ordeal with a gun picture misrepresentation on the website (SBR description not matching Pistol + Brace picture) All said and done, I got the correct gun after some debate with the owner over the mismatch. They DID NOT want to price match the gun to the lower value ($150+) and would have charged 25% return (400). I thought that's all fine and well as it MAY have cost them return fee...whatever. HOWEVER, upon looking at their website again 2 months later, they have not corrected the error after stating they did. This makes me believe this was a SCAM to sell a popular gun for more than its worth, or gather $400 return fee when someone doesn't want to apply for a tax stamp for a SBR. Unfortunately their "store policies" have disclaimers for such things so not much to be done for me. It's as if they have been through this before...hmm?! To really get you thinking, their website is auto populated from master site "Gearfire". The inventory is shared to 9 other stores. They told me they were backlogged for three months. I called them on the three month mark, and they told me it would take 1 to 2 more weeks to finish my gun. Part 1. I had not shot a gun since I was in the Navy many years ago. My wife had never shot before. So....we did did not know what we needed or wanted. We just wanted to get a self-defense gun. The staff at the store were VERY helpful. They helped us find a simple pistol that my wife felt comfortable with. (I noticed that they did NOT up sell us to the very expensive models.) Part 2. We signed up for instruction on this new thing (a pistol). GRANT FLYNN our instructor. He was calming, funny and very informative. I learned a lot and he made my wife at ease. The session was schedule from 6:30 - 8:30. He was so patient that we were there until darkness shut us down. Part 3. I don't care how much you think you know about guns and shooting (I had my Marksman medal) GRANT FLYNN knows more and want to teach you (without making you feel like an idoit.) Shop elsewhere. I spent thousands of dollars with this outfit. They got me a couple of times and I let it go because I liked them. They overcharged me on 2 $20 magazine inserts, charged $30 each, and i said something about it and some Neanderthal named Dave came out from the back and stuck his nose in it giving me a "lesson" on how business works. I'm 72, I've owned my own business for 52 years. All the while, Kyle the owners kid, stood back on his cell phone and watched his help get shitty with me. Kyle wasn't taking care of business. They don't get anymore of my money. I see other reviews on these guys, similar problems. I read in another review where Kyle the owners kid said you don't have to buy it. I had a rather unusual, but pleasant encounter with Guns Plus in Georgetown. I'm not an avid gun owner, at least in regards to having the knowledge I have in other fields of expertise (ie Guitar gear, studio production, etc) but I've been shooting an S&W MP 40 cal for the past year or 2...off and on. Last week I was out, shooting this fine gun; and after about 8 mags, relishing in the glory of the 2nd amendment, one of the bullets got stuck in a weird place inside the barrel...and I couldn't for the life-of-me extract this round from the chamber or barrel. A friend recommended I go to Guns Plus to have my gun checked out. I walked in, was met with a smile and a firm hand shake. Within 30 seconds the fine gentlemen had ascertained a solution. Within 2 minutes he had extracted the round and my gun was in tip-top shape again. We shot the sh*t (see what I did there....) about hunting rifles for a few minutes. He put a few in my hands, recommended 3 or 4 options, all in different price ranges, all with honest first-hand reviews. I'll DEFINITELY be returning to this place once the tax money from Uncle Sam hits my bank account! read more

Yesterday my husband and I attended a gun safety and personal protection class, and how to shoot our new glock. Grant was our instructor and I cannot stress how patient he was with me, an elderly woman who shot a gun once when I was 9 and it was a shotgun and I hated it, hurt my shoulder. My fear of guns was paramount on the way to our class, but this class taught me so much. How to handle the gun, how to hold the gun, how to set up your shot, now I think it's paramount that anyone who has an interest in personal safety take this class with Grant. Thank you to all the people at Guns Plus, using a gun should be more than just buying the gun and going home, it takes REAL knowledge and training. Absolutely horrible service!!! Dropped off a rifle to have the barrel threaded and a break put on. I was quoted 4 weeks... 6 weeks later it still isn't ready and they could care less!!!! They do not care about customers. I go in to pick it up unfinished and they still had no explanation and did nothing to try and smooth it over. I am new to the world of guns so I wasn't sure what to expect with the class. It was very informative and very helpful. The instructor Stephen was incredibly thorough and provided real life examples and scenarios that allowed me to understand the why's. His tips and opinions were great but he balanced those with the laws and legal ramifications as needed. The shooting part of the class was very organized and his wife who also works there was very impressive and kept the whole class moving along without a hitch. I would highly recommend the class but specifically taking it with Guns Plus. It's a family owned and ran business, but all of them are professionals in what they do and teach. read more

Went to Guns Plus to use their gunsmith services to replace a 300 Blackout barrel with a 5.56 Barrel on my upper AR-15 receiver. (See attached receipt). I took the rifle to the range and it would not fire correctly. The rifle was under pressure I thought it was no big deal. I'll just return to Guns Plus and the gunsmith will fix whatever problems there were with the upper receiver. *Their diagnosis was a bad bolt carrier group was causing the problem with the rifle* And charge me an additional $81 for parts and service I didn't need (See attached receipt) Went back to the range, I put in a new bolt carrier group that I knew was good and the rifle still would not fire correctly, still under pressure. At this time I paid Guns Plus a total of $118.00 for service and parts and my rifle still does not fire correctly. So I took it to a different gunsmith shop and had a total inspection of the rifle to find out what the problem was. And the problem was the barrel had a .075 gasport which is very ammo sensitive. The Fix : The new gunsmith drilled the gas port out to a size of .081 and dimple the barrel so the gas block would sit on the barrel better. The owner will probably reply to my complaint saying it's the customers fault. For some reason this company always blames the customer. ( it's one of those companies) you know what I mean. Very much price gouging there ammo. When I see 50 Ae Hornady hollow points going for $34 and then 9mm hollow points across the shelf from 40-50 dollars. How does that work the 50 ae has more casing more powder more projectile. And it less expensive. same with 6.5 Creedmoor growing in popularity it's like $69 for target ammo. and then the less common newer round 6mm arc red tip ammo going for a normal price of $39. An known the less 22lr common and popular going for $45 for a 100 rounds of cheap plinking bullets. When I can go to reds and get it for $9. And the excuse is it's hard to get and you have box's and box's of ammo on the ground. And every customer in there buy the ammo was talking about it your just trying to profit. And it's not right. I know your a small Business but it's a little much gun show aren't even charging this much.. read more
