I worked with Daniel to place an order of a new Staccato and he was helpful, friendly, funny and quick with getting it all squared away. I ordered on Monday and was able to pick up my new gun Friday. I even got a free shirt with it, all at a lower price than what I would've paid from the manufacturer. Good luck getting in touch with someone if there's a problem with your order. Short hours Monday through Friday, closed weekends. Phone calls during normal business hours go to voicemail, but are never returned. Emails regarding technical issues not responded to. Pay $4-5,000 for a pistol -- but you're on your own if there's a problem. Just try to get some help elsewhere. Then there are delays... "You need to contact our company before your order can be processed." There's no accountability when they take your money, but it takes weeks to actually reach someone in their customer service department to resolve the issue. Either they've cut back on staff to the point where this is a "bare-bones" shoestring operation, or they're not really concerned about the impact they have on their customers. This "don't care, don't have to" attitude has to change. It boils down to this: who is serving whom? After having an issue with an order (Dawson Precision charged my credit card, but I was unable to reach the company for technical assistant AND/OR customer service), my credit card company reported they were unable to reach the company and months later, the issue is still unresolved. The internet order is processed by a machine, which determines there's something wrong with the order: WHO KNOWS WHAT? Try reasoning with a machine. The machine doesn't care that your merchandise doesn't function properly, or that your order is delayed months. It doesn't care: it doesn't have to. Being polite, tactful, and diplomatic doesn't seem to work... not sure what does. This much I can report: there have been problems (and delays) in six of nine orders placed with Dawson Precision -- not one of them having anything to do with the item ordered being out of stock or back ordered. Six problems with nine orders: 66.6% of my orders placed online have had lengthy delays. That's a very bad track record. I hope your experience is better than mine. read more

If you're in Texas or for that matter anywhere and you're looking for an STI, Dawson is the place to go. I picked up my STI today and couldn't be happier with the service. A gun that normally takes months to get arrived in one short week. I was greeted by everyone employee that I saw and even met the owner, Dave. Dave was super nice and took me on a tour of the facility. I have been using Dawson sights for a while but I had no idea about Dave's connection with STI. Overall great experience. read more

I called in to order fiber optic sights for my wife's new Ruger MK IV 22/45 lite. I asked if they have a military discount. The gentleman asked how many years. I asked, how many I served in the military or how many years since I was in the military. He said, yeah. I told him I was in the US Air Force for 10 years. He then said, no, we don't have a discount. You must have at least 20 years in the military or active duty to get the discount. I replied, so the 10 years I spent in the military protecting my country doesn't matter to you then. I will take my business elsewhere. Thank you. This is very disappointing that a company is going to segregate between those of us who served is good enough or NOT good enough to get a discount with their products. I usually try to support and write goods things about shooting related companies. However, in this case, I'm not pleased with the customer service which was displayed here. I have several extended base pads which, as many of you know, are very costly. Recently, I used a mag with a Dawson Precision extended base pad and did a reload where the expended magazine fell on soft dirt. This caused the side detent/spring door to slide open in the wrong direction and eject the detent and spring. I called D.P. and was told that they get worn and that I'd need to purchase a $9.00 detent/spring kit plus shipping to repair my base pad. I explained that I had never disassembled this or any of my base pads because I clean my mags from the top with a mag brush and that the product wasn't worn whatsoever. Their expensive product shouldn't have failed like this and principally I find it really offensive that their solution is to suck more money out of me to correct(temporarily) their product. I know this is a small petty matter, but really?? A reputable company would have sent out 1 spring/detent to repair their defective product. I think I will leave my mag as pictured so I can explain the poor service I received. You've lost a customer fore life! read more

Well...I recently decided to upgrade my G22 and a friend made the recommendation (or implored me) to change my sights as they were still stock (he actually looked at me as if I still dressed or were stuck in the 1980's....trust me....I don't). He also suggested I visit the Dawson Precision website. The website was easy to manage and it definitely helps to know exactly what you need prior to browsing, as in my case (need .210 sights....but they only had .215, my buddy said, "close enough"..lol) After ordering, I promptly received an invoice and my front sight was on its way. Now since I live in Hawaii I've grown accustomed to waiting FOREVER to get things from the mainland (it's just one of the trade-offs of living in paradise...please don't hate me) To my pleasant surprise, I received the exact part I ordered, during the same work week I made the purchase, wow! I think it may have been a 4 day turn around from purchase to mailbox delivery! So feeling like a conquering Viking opening a treasure chest, I tear open the package, glance upon my new prize and see an American flag sticker at the top with the words "Made in the USA". I'm not one for 5 star reviews, but here goes- I have about 20/40 in my left eye and 20/400 in my right due to an accident with things that go boom in a foreign country. I am constantly trying to pursue my shooting hobby without having to explain why I shoot with the accuracy of a gang member, I found these people thru the net only to discover that they were about 10 miles from my job - I went out and talked to them Daniel called Dave (the owner) over and even though they didn't make an adjustable trijicon rear for my CZ P01 Dave insisted I allow him to try and help and - 5 wks later and my P-01 had one off sights that are Trijicon adjustable, they didn't laugh or question why I needed that adjustment they just made what I needed - selflessly helping me to partially overcome my disability. And they wouldn't take my money just my gratitude. They are professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to what they do. That was 3 yrs ago and it's my story and I'm sticking to it.
