I own several suppressors that I purchased directly from the manufacturer. A friend reached out to…read moreme for advice on obtaining a .22 cal suppressor. I told him I'd heard good things about Silencer Shop, so he purchased through them. From placing his order to taking it home from his FFL took 11 days. He said the entire process was very simple and that he had a great experience. I have been waiting for the CAT ST to be in stock for almost a year. Three weeks ago, it became available. I made my purchase through Silencer Shop. I called and opted for a callback. Less than 10 minutes later, I received the call and asked if they gave a military discount; they do. The program is called Sound Off. David said that he would assist me with anything I needed help with, and he gave me his cell number. Not sure if this is because I am in Sound Off or not. I bought the CAT ST, and it took exactly two weeks from purchase to be ready for pickup. The website and David are epic. I had zero issues. The best part is, once in their system to make additional purchases, all that is needed is to sign the Form 4 because they already have my trust, fingerprints, and photo. I am now waiting on the CAT MOB HUB TI to be approved. As previously stated, the entire process was streamlined and only took a few minutes to complete. David walked me through submitting a Form 1 for $50 through the website; it couldn't have been easier. I'm sure I could have submitted the Form 1 on my own and saved $50. But the ease and simplicity of submitting the paperwork were well worth the small fee. Big thank you to Silencer Shop and David for making my purchases easy.

Unfortunately my experience is quite similar to the several listed here, apparently they have…read moreoutgrown their ability to provide good (or even marginal) customer service. I won't bore you with all the details on the months of no returned calls or emails, electronic forms that wouldn't save data, etc. I figured it would be better to try to fix the problem in person, so I drove from near Galveston to Austin. The sign on the locked door basically said that they don't take walk-in and to go to the Leander show room where they have a kiosk station. At this point I realized that I no longer wanted to ever do business again with the Silencer Shop. It took 15 minutes and multiple attempts for the guy at the show room location to cancel the order (said their computer system wasn't functioning properly). In 40 years of running large company engineering and maintenance activities, dealing with thousands of contract companies (and problems), I've never been this frustrated. My advice would be to go to a local shop that actually cares about your business and avoid the Silencer Shop.
