My husband took a bike he had just purchased, and was having issues with the wheels holding the air. Even though the bike was not purchased at Sun County Cycling, he was told that this business could help him on how to inflate the tires. I was not in agreement for my Husband on taking the bike to this location to help him on how to inflate the tires. I wanted for the bike to be returned where he had purchased it. Well he did it anyway, and it was a big mistake that my Husband did. An associate went outside to assist my Husband with his issues on how to inflate the tires. The associate started pumping air in the tire, and it exploded ruining the tire. My Husband was asked if he could leave the bike there for a couple of days, and heagreed on leaving the bike. He was told that if he agreed on them doing an inspection on the bike. The inspection on the bike will be a $60.00 fee, and my Husband agreed. I don't blame Sun Country Cycling, but I BLAME MY HUSBAND for letting them take advantage of him. The reason I am posting this message is because if you are a local business, and not a corporate business. You should not take advantage of the local people who support your business. They did give him a break on the $60.00, and only charged him $30.00. But that is not the issue, you need not to take advantage of the locals who support your business. read more

Excellent Tune Up for High-End Triathlon Bikes. I took my Cervolo P3 in for a tune up and the bike mechanics really know what they are doing. They upgraded all of my components, tightened my water bottle holder, and even washed the bike. I am so glad I didn't have to take the bike to Austin. Sun Country is building a cycling and fitness community. They will host different events all through the summer including weekly lake swims and bike rides. read more

We're new ( since July 2019) from Chicago. One reason we moved here was to eliminate our weather related excuses not to be more active. I mean how many times can you play Jane Fonda and really get excited about the burn!!! I've got a good old schwinn and I don't know what my hubby had, but he now has a very cool Giant Cypress!!! The guys at the store Jimmie, the new owner and Ross the soon to be old owner,are top notch. Good efficient work , backed by a come back we will make it right attitude. My bike feels brand new. We bought a great new bike today with the careful assistance of Chad. Before we arrived Lisa had communicated by phone and email to make sure things were ready to go. Delivered my 3 wheel bicycle to me on a Sunday. I purchased the 3 wheel bike in Temple from Lisa. There was only 1 used one left in their Killeen store, I bought it in Temple. Lisa told me they can bring it to the Temple store in a couple days. I couldn't fit it in my car so they had it delivered to me on a Sunday and the store is closed Sundays. The salesman spent about 30 minutes going through everything for my friend, and he was honest and sincere about it. The only downside to this place is the size. Worst service I ever had, I dropped my bike off for 1hrs worth of work, next day called and they informed me that I had to pay first, so I was like "ok thanks for telling me yesterday while i was there"..... So I went in and paid and they said it would be done friday, so I was like ok cool, because I'm riding Saturday morning, well I didn't receive any calls so I figured it'd be good to go, WRONG! I drove there only to here the guy tell me not only was it not done, he literally said they haven't touched it and they won't get to it until probably Monday... I was like WTF!, u guys assured me it would be done, he said "that guy should have never told u that".. So not going back forsure! read more

To make a long story as short as possible me and my wife are in our late 40's and haven't ridden since we were kids. We decided to start up riding for the exercise when we were at a local chain sporting goods store and they had a bunch of bikes on clearance. Big mistake as we had nothing but problems with them especially my wife's (back rim was warped, brakes dragging on it, front brakes didn't work at all and this was on a bike less than 3 days old that she hadn't even been able to ride a mile yet.. So I decided last chance to keep her riding I looked to see if there were any bike shops in the area. Luckily I saw Sun Country and took my wife's by just to see if they could help expecting to pay as much as the bike cost if not more. But it would have been worth it to make her happy. I walk into a shop with service from the old days. Great people friendly, nice and they treated me like I was a long time regular customer. They had the bike ready the next day, with a tuneup, new front brake and cable, as the original wasn't salvageable, straightened back rim (instead of selling me a new one even though when I went in I expected to have to get a new one) and a new water bottle cage I picked out that matched the color of my wife's bike all for $73. They have earned a lifelong customer and I am already making plans on replacing my bike with one from them in the near future. btw just for reference I am the type of guy that is known at work as the resident a$$hole. I don't normally do reviews and if I do it is for bad service. But I have to give credit where it's due and this place is great. read more

Not my favorite place. I've been there a few times and aside from the owner, the other employees seem rude, condescending, and don't have too much knowledge about bicycles. I went in there one time to get a derailleur hanger as my frame is older and doesn't have one built in the frame and I had to grind down a little piece on the one I had, and grinded it a little too much and needed a new one . I even came with the derailleur hanger i grounded down and he told me they didn't exist. he said I couldn't upgrade to a new style derailleur and only " a shitty derailleur" would work on a "bike like that" or a mountain bike derailleur, the he proceeded to try to sell me one. Another time I went in there with a friend, and when my friend was checking out, a customer walked out and the employee that was helping my friend started talking trash about the customer. In my opinion, I don't think talking shit about customers to other customers is professional. I will only go in there if i know what i need, and even then they bullshit me, which turns me off going in there. if you don't know anything about bicycles and want to ride I recommend tri city bicycles in Belton. I think its worth the drive and the customer service is much better and they are more thorough. The guys there seem to want to help you out and not just "make a sell". read more
