I dropped my clothes off (1 polo shirt a polo pants) on a Sunday and was told they would be ready by Wednesday. They sent me a message on Thursday saying my clothes were ready to be picked up at the Belton location. When I showed up, they couldn't find my clothes and then realized they were left at the DT temple location. I had to go to wrk, so I said I would come get them today. I showed up and the same thing happened, they still didn't have my clothes. When they finally did get my clothes, they didn't try to give me any discount for wasting my time and gas driving over there 3 different times! First and last time using their service. read more

When I'm town I always stop and drop off our clothing for cleaning and a good pressing. This is one good place to go to have your cleaning done. People are friendly and courteous. They make you feel like you are their priority. Smile on their face. I always believe that a person or persons Body Mechanics and Tone of voice sets a good relationship between owners and customers. I've had some leathers items repaired and when their all done it's looks new and like I never had a issue. So when your time stop and drop off your items or just to say hello. If I could leave 0 stars, I would! I inquired about having my daughter's dress taken in on top to make it tighter. The lady I spoke to quoted me 40-45$ and told me I had to return with my daughter because she needed to put the dress on for them to take the correct measurements. We returned the same day, and the measurements were taken. When we checked out, a young girl behind the counter informed me about the 10$ rush fee and that I had to put my card on file. I agreed to the rush fee and gave her my card. The girl was not very professional and came off as quite rude. She said she would call me later that day with the exact price. I have yet to receive a call. Instead, I received a text message the next day stating that the dress was ready. When I went to pick it up, the same girl was there, and she charged me 81$; I explained to her that I was quoted 40-45$ and that there must be a mistake. She started arguing with me, telling me I was quoted $ 40-65$ and that the rush fee and the tax came out to $ 81$. I explained again that this price had never been discussed with me and that I was not okay with this amount. With a smirk, she went to the back to call the manager. The manager came and told me his manager told him she quoted me 40-65 $. We went back and forth for a while; he started being snippy and asked me if I wanted him to pull up the video of my conversation with the manager earlier in the day. I said, "Yes. please pull up the video !" but he never did; he just kept saying they provide quality work that wasn't cheap and that this was the correct price. The work they do is good. I will give them that. However, $65 plus tax for a simple hem on the length and extension for the slit of the leg is ridiculous (it cost more than the dress itself). Also, we needed the dress in a week, and they wanted to charge an express fee when it clearly says on their website that it will be done in one week. I called in advance to explain the amount of detail in my wedding dress and what I need to get altered, I was reassured multiple times that they were more than capable of taking it in. I walked in showed my dress to the girl at the counter, explained again and gave her my time frame. Reassured again and by the ladies behind her. I was told to go into the next room to change and to come out to get sized. When I came out I was IMMEDIATELY bombarded by the rudest man I have ever met. "No absolutely not I won't do it I don't have time" hadn't met him, let alone spoken to him to even give him my two month timeline. I have never been so rudely spoken to from a "business man" He was kurt, unreasonable and down right disrespectful. I couldn't even get a word in to ask any questions. Be careful when picking up a suit. They really have very little accountability. You drop off an item and do not get anything corresponding to it. I dropped off a name brand suit and was called a week or so later. Another customer realized they had my husband's suit, we had the smaller off-brand. We took it back for the swap. They told us there would be a complimentary cleaning of ours once returned. Didn't notice what we had picked up again until this New Year - and of course, it was the same incorrectly sized, off-brand suit. We called to let them know. Now apparently the other "customer" is an employee with a smaller husband than mine - and they have their correct suit and they are not going to fix it. Learned a very expensive lesson. Will not be back to this or any other location. I guess I will be donating a suit to Goodwill. read more

This was my first time going to Johnnie's and I was SHOCKED at the bill for alterations. I'm a student so, before I dropped my items off to hem and take in the seat of two pairs of shorts, I asked for a quote. I was not given one, but they said they call with one. Flash forward two days and I get a call that my shorts were ready...at a charge of $73! And the shorts were only $7, so that's over 10x the original price! Had I been given a quote when I dropped them off or if they'd kept their promise and called to give me a quote to confirm to go ahead on the work (as was protocol), I would definitely had them not start work. The manager helped a little which I appreciated, but they should have followed their own in house protocol and told me the cost so I could make the decision whether to do business with them or not. What a bad experience :( I will definitely not go back in the future and would be wary of leaving garment anywhere where they don't give me a quote on the spot. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. My first time using Johnnies Cleaners and they destroyed a very expensive silk quilt by washing it after I explicitly told them it was dry clean only. I was very understanding at first and the owner admitted it was their fault. I was told I would be reimbursed the cost of the quilt if I brought in my receipt. I brought in my receipt but was told he simply could NOT pay me the full cost to replace and he also insisted on keeping the quilt they ruined which is just so odd. The owner showed a huge lack of integrity and morals. I would have considered continuing to do business with them even after ruining my item if they had handled this better but will not be using in the future. I had a horrible experience with dry cleaning and alterations for a bridesmaid gown at Johnnie's Cleaners on S Main St. Simple alterations were way overpriced ($72 to have sides taken in and lining let out). They also failed to remove stains from a blouse and a tie. Customer service at the front desk was one of the worst I've encountered at any business. During both drop off and pick up, the woman at the front desk was disrespectful, condescending, fake, and not at all interested in my satisfaction as a customer. She seemed annoyed when I called attention to a stain on the blouse and agreed to check on having it cleaned again, which she never did. I had specifically mentioned the stain when I dropped it off. The staff did not bother to mention that my husband's tie still had a stain that they did not remove. When I initially called to ask for an alterations quote, the staff told me that it was not possible to give a price quote over the phone, and once in the fitting room I saw a sign posted stating that they charge $25 for a "fitting" if you choose not to have alterations completed. When I inquired about pricing in the store, the woman from the front desk asked what I thought was reasonable to pay... which led me to believe that she just makes up prices based off of what she wants a customer to pay. This woman also refused to give me an actual price for the alterations in front of the seamstresses and explained once I was at the cash register that this was the store policy. This suggests that the seamstresses are likely grossly underpaid. I regret not telling the seamstresses how much I was charged before I left the store. Also during pick up, the woman at the front desk tried to force me to pay without having tried on the dress for which I was to pay $72 for alterations. She stated aggressively, "Right here, ma'am" (gesturing to the cash register) and was rude when I stated that I wished to try the dress on before paying to be sure that it fit. All in all, I feel ripped off and disrespected and was left with 2 items that weren't cleaned properly. This business doesn't deserve your patronage. read more

Prospective customers beware. Please do not make the same mistake I did. I came here after reading certain reviews that their prices were now more reasonable, and given their close location, I thought why not? I received my confirmation email to the effect of my items were completed from Johnnie's with a quote for 2 items dry cleaned (1 lab coat and 1 jacket). The total for both items was over $21.92. This is five times what I am usually charged for dry cleaning for TWO items. If I was given a quote prior, I would have definitely denied their service. Hopefully, it'll be clean at the very least. When I picked up my items, and the quote came out to over $5 for a white coat and $15 for a coat that had a stain on it. For a hefty sum of $15, you should be able to expect a stain-free coat, correct? Wrong. The coat still had a stain, after what Johnnie's Cleaners considers fifteen dollars quality cleaning. How did she miss the large stain on the coat after supposedly cleaning the coat for that very same reason? The only service I requested, no alterations, no bells and whistles. She responded curtly when I showed her the stain, "I'll run it again" she said and still the coat remained with stain when all was said and done, down $15 wasted time and nothing to show for it. I also asked why their prices were so much higher than their competitors in the area. My peers had dry-cleaned the same coat as I for significantly less money. Her response was simply, "DUDEE, I don't make the prices." How unprofessional and lacking in customer services skills. So many ways to skin a chicken... Here's Temple's finest for you. I will not come back to this establishment. If not solely for the ridiculously overpriced unsatisfactory "cleaning", definitely for the customer service, or lack thereof. The women dealt with multiple fittings and multiple alternations and everyone from front desk to alternations were super friendly and helpful. Our final bill was absolutely reasonable. I just moved to the area, and tried Johnnie's Cleaning for the first time. Upon dropping off my business casual clothes, I showed the two ladies at the counter that the back pocket button on a pair of slacks was missing and needed replacement. "Ok," the younger lady said. I then pointed out that a dress shirt had a few small stains from olive oil. "Ok," the same lady said again. I asked if they were going to mark the places needing attention. The other, older lady said, "We don't mark places needing attention." Well sure enough, after I had collected my clothes a few days later and returned home, I noticed that the missing button had not been replaced, and the stains were still visible. I just don't understand why a service business would not want to adopt quality control methods widely used in the their industry. I took some jeans in to Johnnie's, and the bill was around 74 dollars, I initially thought it was a bit expensive I must admit. But they hemmed 2 pairs, they altered my capris, and took the leg to a smaller bell. Everything looked great, but they didn't take up my capris enough...it was in the stride so hard to pin that. They told me to try on again, (the owner) and he figured out another way to fix them. He was extremely nice as was everyone there....He fixed them, there was no charge and it was alot of extra work I know! So I am very pleased with my visit to Johnnie's. It is a bit expensive but well worth it if they do a great job. My jeans were Miss Me's so they were expensive to begin with and they took extra care with my clothes!!
