Unfortunately my experience is quite similar to the several listed here, apparently they have outgrown their ability to provide good (or even marginal) customer service. I won't bore you with all the details on the months of no returned calls or emails, electronic forms that wouldn't save data, etc. I figured it would be better to try to fix the problem in person, so I drove from near Galveston to Austin. The sign on the locked door basically said that they don't take walk-in and to go to the Leander show room where they have a kiosk station. At this point I realized that I no longer wanted to ever do business again with the Silencer Shop. It took 15 minutes and multiple attempts for the guy at the show room location to cancel the order (said their computer system wasn't functioning properly). In 40 years of running large company engineering and maintenance activities, dealing with thousands of contract companies (and problems), I've never been this frustrated. My advice would be to go to a local shop that actually cares about your business and avoid the Silencer Shop. read more

Silencer shop is one of the worst companies I've had the displeasure to deal with. Initially, I ordered a supressor that was out of stock by accident and wanted to cancel so I could pick a different one. There's no cancel option on their site (stupid), so I had to call them. They are one of those companies that always has the little warning when you call about "higher than normal call volume" no matter what time of day. I called and waited for a ridiculous amount of time and then was offered to option to get a callback. I opted for that and ended the call....and never got a call. I tried that a few times before I went on their site and left a review about their utter lack of customer service. In a day or two, I got a call from a sales person who was very understanding and offered me a substantial gift card to make up for it. He also helped with the cancelation of the out of stock supressor. I figured that since they went out of their way to make it right I would go ahead and and give them another chance. I bought a supressor and the Form 4 plus an additional Form 1 for an SBR. It took a bit, but when the supressor got to my FFL, a mistake was noted with my name and the FFL would not proceed until it was corrected. I bet you can guess what that meant....that's right, I had to call them. OF COURSE I was not able to get through nor did I ever receive the offered callbacks after multiple attempts. Seriously, why even have that feature if you're never going to call people back? The only way that I actually DID finally get through was to call at the exact moment that they opened. The girl who answered was helpful and put in a request or whatever to the department in charge of fixing things like this. Since they'd also made the same mistake on my Form 1, I asked if that should be withdrawn from eForms and they said yes and that I would receive an email from the ATF confirming the withdrawal (I did not) and to forward it to their care email address. After several days I tried several times to call and ask not only about the Form 1 issue but also to get some sort of confirmation that they'd actually fixed and resubmitted the paperwork for the supressor. By now I am sure that you can guess how that went. A whole lot of sitting on hold and not getting callbacks. Finally, I sent an email to their care address, which BTW is basically like chatting with AI, to cancel the supressor and refund my money because at that point it was getting ridiculous. With ZERO response to me, Silencer Shop reached out to the FFL to cancel the transaction. Not a single effort to reach out to me at all. The FFL saved the day by calling me and promising to take care of me and was very understanding when I told him what had been happening. He told me that he heard stories like that alot and quickly got me fixed up and the paperwork completed. The Form 1 never got corrected. I sent multiple emails with no response. I refuse to call them at this point becaus I know it's just a waste of time. I guess I just donated $50 to Silencer Shop. I absolutely do not recommend doing business with Silencer Shop as their cutomer service is some of the worst I've ever seen. There is simply no reason to do business with such a company when there are so many other options. The convenience of their kiosks simply do not outweigh how poorly they handle customer issues. In fact, my new mission in life it to discourage as many people as I possibly can from doing business with Silencer Shop. They'll definitely tart seeing me everywhere reviews are posted. My hope is thay they will either go out of business or start actually taking care of customers. read more

Applied 7 weeks ago to Silencer Shop for a suppressor I want to purchase here in Arizona. Since the first week in January (it's now March), I have received 19 emails stating (1) the photo sent them in a January does not meet specifications and must be redone; and (2) my registration -- and account -- need to be updated. I have checked my account each time, and their software says I completed 100% of the necessary items that needed to be resolved (though nothing has changed since I first applied to Silencer Shop in October 2024). The company refuses to accept the name of my firearm Trust which was established mid-2025, and eight times now, I have downloaded the entire legal document to their company's website. I have called the company 14 times with receipt of their first email and never gotten through to anyone in Customer Service, or had a single call returned by them. Four days ago, I submitted an eForm to ATF with the same photo Silencer Shop said was inadequate; I submitted the name of the Firearm Trust first sent to ATF for seven other suppressors (1 .22 Cal; 3 9mm, 2 5.56mm; and 1 .50 Cal); my purchase of the suppressor was approved today by ATF and is now in my possession. Four days, success -- but through a different company! This afternoon, a few hours after I picked up my new suppressor, I received another email from Silencer Shop stating that I had to resubmit a new photo (same sent to and approved by ATF 4 days ago); Silencer Shop said that I had to update my account information; they did not recognize the Firearm Trust (which was approved by ATF mid-2025 and sent to them 4 days ago and I have to submit the entire Trust document again), and, with re-submission of these items with the 20th email from them, they'll submit my application to ATF. Same thing they've reported since this process began nearly two months ago. They're doing this deliberately: it is not a software problem. The company is obviously overwhelmed by applicants and rather than being honest that our applications will be processed -- with some delay -- they are playing this game of "resubmit photo", update your account, and resubmit the application. Polite support staff, but no ownership, escalation path, or case continuity. Since June 6, 2026 I have been unable to complete certification and fingerprint transfer despite multiple contacts, repeated transfers, and disconnections. A dozen emails, screenshots, and responses from ATF. No response AT ALL. This is a systemic failure in escalation and tracking, leaving a regulated transaction stalled with no accountable party or resolution path. read more

Silencer shop did not make anything easier. I fell for the kiosk BS. on their site i followed step by step instructions. Picked a dealer to transfer and selected it. after purchase silencer shop said i could go to the kiosk so i did at a different location since the one i selected on the site did not have one. Now the silencer is sitting at the shop i selected from the Silencer shop page but it does not share information with the location that the kiosk was at. So now im on my way to the shop with the silencer to do the photos and finger prints all over again. I paid to use the kiosk so im out that money. waste of complete time. I had high hopes in the silencer shop and planed on buying a silencer for my 5.56. They will not get business from me again or hopefully anyone i talk to. just buy local and skip the kiosk all together. read more

do not get sucked into using their kiosk at the gun store, it has taken 4 months to process something that should have taken 7-10 days. Go to any other store to purchase a silencer, do not use silencer shop. It was their error, no calls, no explanation, just a bunch of bs, even the gun store couldn't get through to them read more

2 Stars I want to share my experience so others know what they're getting into before ordering from Silencer Shop. I placed an order in February 2026 for a B&T suppressor and accidentally ordered two units. I contacted them immediately to reduce the quantity to one. No response for two weeks. After two weeks of silence, I escalated and tried to cancel the order altogether. Within minutes, I received a phone call, not acknowledging my cancellation request, but acting as though they were just now noticing the duplicate order for the first time. They talked me into keeping one unit and issued a partial refund. Looking back, it's clear they had seen my original request and sat on it, then called the moment I tried to cancel to salvage the sale. The item was listed as "backordered" on their website at the time of purchase, not "out of stock." On their site, that distinction matters: backordered implies the item is expected to arrive soon. I purchased based on that reasonable expectation. Unfortunately, before I ordered, B&T began a legal dispute with the parent company (I totally understand that is out of Silencer Shop's control), which delayed further the delivery, meaning I couldn't receive a serial number, and without a serial number you cannot initiate the ATF paperwork to even begin the approval process. The clock doesn't start until they can deliver a unit. I decided to cancel in March, about two weeks after the qty correction, because I learned of the potential delay. I sent a cancellation email and received an automated response saying someone would "follow up ASAP." No one did. I followed up again two weeks later. Same automated response. Same silence. Phone calls resulted in being placed on hold until the line disconnected. 36 days. Two written cancellation requests. Multiple ignored phone calls. Over $1,000 of my money held with no response. I finally sent a formal final notice on April 9th with a 48-hour deadline, explicitly mentioning a credit card dispute. Suddenly, 15 minutes later, James from Silencer Shop found the time to respond and process my refund request. They had the ability to contact me immediately the whole time. They chose not to until I forced their hand twice. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that their kiosk system at my local FFL actually works pretty well, and made that purchase pretty simple. From this point forward, I will only purchase through a local FFL. read more

I have now ordered three suppressors from SilencerShop. For a decade I avoided buying a suppressor as the process just seemed daunting and complicated. With SilencerShop, they handle all the paperwork, forms and interactions with the ATF. I decide which suppressor I want, pay for in on their sight, pay for the tax stamp and SilencerShop does the ready. A day later I get a form to sign and certify them I simply wait for the ATF to approve it and then I go pick it up. I've purchased a dead air mask 22, an obsidian 9 and a ventrum 762. All have been quality suppressors and worth every cent. The ATF has been turning individual form purchases in 48 hours and that just thrills me. SilencerShop is the king of suppressors for a reason. Literally abysmal customer service experience. Scam levels of customer service because there is none. Use Capitol Armory if you can. Genuinely considering chargebacks to my card. I have reached out probably close to a dozen times between calls and emails. I have received one response and ghosted again after that with no resolution. I just need to update some details on two SBR's so they will pass certification. It can't be that hard, but I need a rep to take 5 minutes and do it because I can't change those details. I'm sure if everything goes perfectly and you don't have to reach out to CS, it's a great experience Right now I am out $150 and 2 weeks of attempts to complete this process. Go elsewhere read more

I ordered an in-stock can from Silencer Shop on February 1st. It is now February 26th. They charged my credit card for the $1200. The status of my is still "under review". Even though they have my Trust my prints, and all my info, and I have purchased from them before. They do not answer their phone or respond to my emails. I tried to cancel my order a week ago. I got an automated response saying they would "review my request" again no response to emails, no response to phone calls. They don't pick up the phone or return calls. They have my money though. With the fast ATF turnaround times I would have had my can long ago if I went to a regular gun shop. Stay away! read more

I ordered a silencer yesterday and was told all my paperwork was in. Today they emailed me and said the ethnicity section on my fingerprint card was missing a response. I looked at it online and it already said, "Not Hispanic or Latino." That is my ethnicity, so why are they asking me to change this? I've tried calling them, emailing them, and using the online contact form. I have not been able to contact them through any of these methods. I guess I just have to hope they will eventually call me back, but their customer service seems very poor at this point. Update: My paperwork was eventually corrected and my local dealer received the silencer. There were no notifications and a lot of confusion, but the ATF's Form 4 process went quickly and I was able to take delivery of the silencer in less than a month. read more

I placed an order over a month ago for a suppressor. I have patiently been waiting and then an update came that I needed to add my middle initial on my form. I immediately did so and then continued receiving emails saying my information was incomplete, even though everything else is correct, and the portal confirms this. I emailed and attempted to call two weeks ago and received an automated email saying someone would contact my shortly. After a week, I did not receive a response or any updates. I again emailed and messaged with no responses. I have since been trying to contact anyone from the company but only go to automated messages and no emails back. I would suggest using someone else local that will actually speak to you and update you on your purchase. *I have also already paid for it and because I can't speak to anyone or receive any response, I cannot even cancel it. read more

I ordered two threaded spacers AC114 and upon arrival i noticed 1 of them is defective and not threaded all the way through on the inside and is not usable, this is a new part i ordered from silencer shop. Made one purchase through them and it was fairly smooth. Fast forward, I purchased another item in Sep of 2024. We are now going into April and just got denied due to the dumb a$$ NICS system. Applied for a UPIN numerous times now, since the first application was "missing" fingerprints (they were sent electronically with confirmation email). New prints were in and signed for on 15 April. VAF is still showing incomplete. Emailed FBI for status update and was told I needed some added info that silencer shop has. Currently, on hold with silencer shop 40 mins and nothing but elevator music. I find this highly frustrating because maybe, just maybe, being the pros at this, have certain info that the FBI requires in these situations, readily available so customers aren't spending an entire afternoon lunch break on hold. read more

Burrying a 35% restocking fee on a fully returned item (one that I never even touched) because your business model is inneficient is not a company that anyone should be doing business with. I can fully appreciate and understand that I made a mistake and returned an item, can fully appreciate that the $200 dollar tax stamp was filed, and I can fully appreciate that it requires time and effort to restock something - but at this rate, there are so many other companies available - I would urge everyone and highly suggest you look elsewhere before ever doing business here again. Do not let their Free Tax stamp or any of the other language trick you. And to make matters worse, the guy on the phone of my last call was a complete a@@h@le from the moment I started talking. Would never come back here just based on his tone ever again. If you've read this far, and are researching your first suppressor, definitely look elsewhere. And to add insult to injury, their support team, after THREE phone call interactions at ZERO moments throughout this entire process, ever mentioned a 35% restocking fee. Even a little bit of decency would have been appreciated, by just telling me that - I would have changed out my rifle before eating a $400 dollar loss. I thought getting a suppressor was harder than trying to get the dmv to answer the phone. Wrong! I saw a silencer shop kiosk up in anchorage Alaska. I asked about it. What was it. Does it work? Etc.. The kiosks and the silencer shops website make purchasing a silencer as easy as buying a toothbrush from Amazon. The few steps involved are printed through your email. Nothing is fast. We're talking govt paperwork. But it IS easy. Thank you for the great product and technology forward service. read more
