As someone who works in customer service, I'm very critical about how store owners and employees treat their customers. I could tell that the folks at Saddle Rock do genuinely care about their clientele, which is one reason I can see myself being a repeat customer here. Very good prices and selection as well, along with some rather unique items that you don't see often at other shops. When I brought up potentially trading in one of my own firearms, they were very transparent about their pricing structure and how they arrive at their offer, along with providing information on their consignment policy. Definitely recommend checking out Saddle Rock! For reference, the photo in my review is what I purchased from them. CMMG Mutant Mk47 with all attachments included along with 5 AK compatible mags all for around $1200!

Under new management! Nothing wrong with the old owner - just a natural transition. Glad to see them still here. Still a great place for firearms, accessories and most importantly - safes. Outside of the big box stores, one of the largest selections of gun safes anywhere. They also take used firearms on consignment if you have something you want to sell. Not in store? I came here based on all the quality reviews of their customers. To be honest, I'm not a very knowledgeable gun enthusiast , so I took what I knew and incorporated their good advice to find the perfect purchase. I decided on a gun that is great for home defense and for concealed carry. The conversation then moves towards ammunition and accessories which they were also very helpful with. However, before I could purchase a firearm, I had to fill out a form online which is for a background check. Sometimes you get clearance pretty quickly within a matter of minutes, but in some cases, such as mine, I had to wait at least a day or more. Nonetheless, I was still able to purchase it and pick it up later. So whether you are a gun enthusiast or a novice like myself, they can walk you through whatever your needs are. After doing business with Academy and Red's, I can say Saddle Rock Armory is the best choice in firearms stores for the Austin area. Their FFL fees are most reasonable and the staff is helpful and friendly. Shout out to Bethany for helping me step by step via email and in person with my SilencerCo Omega 300! Great store, with a great staff. Walked in as a chick with the widest smile to purchase a gun I called in about like 30 minutes before my visit. Exciting times. Right? They asked if I wanted them to put it on hold for me until I got there, much appreciated. The store is easy to find, clear logo visible from the street and parking lot. Filled out the forms on the computer, paid, and walked out within 15-20 mins from arrival (I have a CC license.). I had the gun in my hand within an hour of the phone call I made, including the ride there. The staff is helpful, the process is straightforward. It was a fun way to start a Saturday. If you are a woman a bit hesitant to go in alone, just do it. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

We came here about 20 mins before closing on a Saturday and Stacey was here to help us, I wanted to purchase a 9mm for a concealed carry class we have upcoming and she was the best! She was extremely patient and took out a number of guns and let me hold them and handle them with seeing how it fit in my hand and how comfortable I would be cocking each pistol. She spent about an hour with us and provided so much information about local women's shooting club, other tips and tricks and her own experiences especially in regards to gun safety and women enabling themselves by protecting themselves. It was amazing, and we are a fan! I am going to sign up for the shooting club she recommended and they also do training classes up in Liberty Hill I believe. She even said once I shot my gun enough to break it in, we can bring it there and they will show us how to break it down and clean it. Just a very nice genuine person, I know as a woman...it can be intimidating going into a gun shop and she feels the same way to so she provides an excellent level of customer service because of that and you can tell because they are developing a very loyal customer base...ourselves included now. read more

Excellent place for an FFL transfer. Reasonably priced transfers and very knowledgeable staff. While we were waiting for the background checks I mentioned that I was looking for an optic but was concerned about my astigmatism. The staff who helped me knew exactly what I was talking about and showed me some optics that work best. Will definitely do business with them in the future. read more

A+ outfit. I have both purchased firearms directly from them and also relied on them for FFL transfers, and in both cases I was completely satisfied. Once in a while they may need to reboot a computer, or reset their printer, but these sort of minor inconveniences pale in comparison to the otherwise excellent service they provide. Very competitively prices, even for a brick and mortar store, they are also 100% on top of FFL transfers, zero delays. Again... A+. No reason to go anywhere else. read more

I had an AK shipped to Saddle Rock from Palmetto a few months back. I arrived a bit early the day it was delivered, before they had a chance to call me (since I was tracking the package). The only (and I mean ONLY!!) gun store I've been to and NOT been demeaned, spoken down to or insulted with man-splaining a familiar concept or been handed a pink Kimber because "that's more what you need to be looking at, little lady." Everyone there was super nice, and my 9 year old son was completely comfortable. Very knowledgeable about what they carry and were helping me decide on a hunting rifle for my son. This is not like most gun stores where they don't want to help you, and they are angry at you for walking in. We felt right at home, and it was a great experience. I am having a few items shipped there for FFL transfers, and honestly I thought the pricing online I received was the best possible as I shopped around. I was wrong. I should have just bought it here, it actually would have been $37.00 cheaper because I wouldn't have had to pay for shipping or the FFL fees. I am already planning on getting my son a rifle here and also a couple cans for my AR's. ...Why are you still reading this? You should already be on you way there. Go on, get it done. read more

FFL transfer? 20 dollars American. Special orders? SRA will have it in a couple of days for the common. a few more days for the really special and gives a thorough search for the unusual. You are working with folk that want to help. If you find a better price... They will congratulate you. If you find them the better shopping and purchase experience, you congratulate yourself. My favorite local gun store. My favorite gun store, period. They made me an outstanding deal on my Sig M11-A1. I used to buy ammo online in bulk, but Saddle Rock beat their prices. Small, comfortable store that stocks high quality firearms and accessories and they are open after I get off work. Hunter and Stacey are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I stop in at least two days a week just to see what's new and to say hello. If you shop around and compare (even online) you'll buy from Saddle Rock Armory. Really cool gun shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Their gun prices are very competitive and the selection is large. The owner gave us a full rundown of the shop and was able to answer every question we had with absolutely none of the typical "gun store employee" political talk or ranting that you see too much of now days. I was looking for a Glock 20 and after contacting the corporate office they let me know that the Pflugerville location had several Glock 20 V MOS models in stock. I went over a short easy drive from where I live and walked in excitedly. I was not disappointed, the store is the main hub for peace and security officers to get all their gear outfitted! They also have plenty for the civilian owner as well! I checked in at the front desk and they told me where to go for the firearms purchase area. Being a weekday there was no waiting. I have heard the place gets busy and sometimes you have to take a number for your turn to be helped. They had three experts ready to help. I walked right up and shared what I was looking for and that I had a GSSF voucher to use. They were more than helpful and while they went back to get the Glock positioned me on their computer for filling out the paperwork required. Their system was intuitive and quick to fill out. By the time they returned I was done. As he was ringing me up I noticed the price I was quoted by corporate was less than they quoted me at the store. The expert explained that GT Distributors charged more for GSSF member vouchers than for their Blue Label buyers (peace and security officers). The savings was still well below retail and I respected their decision to honor those thst keep us safe on the daily! While I was being rung up I went and looked at the magazine section and found their prices were better than what I found elsewhere and even spot on with the lowest prices I had researched online! I snapped the last two mags they had for my firearm. Overall I had a great experience, my expert was professional, knowledgeable and friendly! If I was not moving out of state soon I would be planning on using my benefits there next year! If you want clear, friendly, no-nonsense, professional information on all things firearms I cannot recommend GT Distributors - Pflugerville enough! Catering to our boys in blue and other first responders they still are super helpful, welcoming and patient with the civilian operator! As it was a firearm facility I did not take any pictures. Effectively, they're saying "please don't buy guns somewhere else and get them sent here - we don't want that business." Lesson learned - I should have checked before I sent my transfer if their price had increased. I get it. They want to sell their own inventory. That makes sense. But the business that will be lost in people who also needed accessories and ammo is likely significant as they decrease traffic into their store: Every time I went in for a transfer o tried to buy something - even if just a bottle of cleaner - to support them. There are too many other options at $25 or less. If you do want to put hands on a gun before you buy and want to buy local, their selection is huge. They just added a room of additional parts and accessories, which also houses their gunsmithing area. Their gunsmithing is still spectacular, especially older or less popular guns, and their cerakoting service is reasonable and really well done. Net net they're a plus to the gun community in a growing part of the Austin area. They're just not the great deal they were before for transfers and the stress of growth is showing, so I'll have fewer reasons to go back.

Today was my first time shopping with Saddle Rock Armory. Until recently, I was a loyal customer of Guns Warehouse In Cedar Park. My wife and I have purchased dozens of firearms from Guns Warehouse over the years. My willingness to do business with Guns Warehouse ended when they failed to take financial responsibility for a FN 509 they damaged while attempting to install an Apex trigger. An individual employee, of Guns Warehouse, attempted to pay for the damages out of his own pocket. I refused believing the business, rather than an individual employee, should take responsibility for the damage. I finally gave up and took my broken firearm back after learning they had not sent it back to FN for repair. The expense, for their mistake will end up coming out of my pocket. Today, I traded in one handgun for another at Saddle Rock Armory. I was given a fair value for my trade. Also, they are going to help me get the broken 509 back to FN for non warranty repairs. I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have very competitive prices. They have earned my business going forward. read more
