I have never been to a bass pro shop that made me feel so uncomfortable it was the worse experience I have ever experienced I was followed throughout the store the entire time once I got there the gun clerk lady would not answer my question a elderly Caucasian man would not stop watching I have no idea what I did and why I was judged so badly that I could not feel comfortable looking for a handgun for outside safety and protection this was the worse experience in my life I understand that racism still exist but to that extent was uncalled for it's not right to judge someone based on the skin complexion and I'm not gonna stop my complaints until action is done on this location I felt unsafe and I was scared for my well being I truly felt like I was in danger that I had no choice to leave immediately . I visit this location about once a month, fish gear and ammo Mostly. For the last two years it's been a 50/50 experience but for the first time I was impressed. The lines get a bit long for hand gun reviews and checkout. Have my eye on a used pistol and the staff actually cleared the list faster then normal from the not present, getting to checkout with some gear there was a line like usual but a new face bouncing around helping things move, I believe her name is Amy. She stopped at my register to help with the guy in front of me and was fast and polite, apologized for the wait and very friendly. She took to time to say sorry when she was the reason the lines started moving faster. Hope she stays and helps the younger cashiers wake up. read more

I've been to this Bass Pro shop a few times. It is a fun place to be. They have lots of items for hunting and fishing and other outdoor sports. It's a great place for gifts. They have clothes. They have jerky and jams. They have toys. It's a very nice store. We went there yesterday and took the kids to see Santa. They have a very good Santa! We were pleased in our child was in magic land, which is where she should be at Christmas time. The reason I'm giving Bass Pro shops four stars is because the last time I was here I brought my gun in for service and their method is that the girls in front have to disarm the gun before you can walk into the store. So even though my six shooter was not loaded, they had to look it over and in doing so they took it apart and bent the spring. They had to send my gun into Ruger to get it repaired-- and they did so. They did not try to pass off responsibility. They were very sorry that they broke my beautiful bear cat six shooter. But the fact is they did and it brought me discomfort. I will be back here to shop, but I will never bring my gun here for any reason whatsoever. As for value, some of the products are overpriced and some aren't. Just pay attention. They do have some unique items that you probably won't find anywhere else in this area. I do recommend the store, but I don't recommend getting your gun serviced here. read more

Most people done know that Bass Pro sells used guns. While this location doesn't have a Gun Library full of used stuff, they do see a lot of interesting stuff come through. The bonus, though, is that you can shop online across the US in their used guns online and they'll ship to your local store for free. I received the wrong color so went back to return and ended up exchanging that sweater for a different one altogether and paid the difference. Bass pro shop, Cabelas, now they have merged. Both great stores. This bass pro shop in Round Rock is a tad small but has a lot to see. Always love to look at all the animal mounts all over the store. Come on Mondays and get 15 % off. The sales are great especially Black Friday. The points system on the credit cards is easy to understand and use. There is a bowling alley that looks like you are under the ocean. It is a great family experience. There is also a restaurant in the store. All the employees have always been helpful. Service was atrocious. Waited to speak with someone at the firearms counter for 10 minutes and watched 5 people help the same patron for the entire duration. 4 of them were doing absolutely nothing. I was buying a magazine and some ammunition. Had them in my hand. They made eye contact and refused to acknowledge me and one other customer the whole time. I walked out and will be taking my business elsewhere. Been shopping at bass pro and cabelas since I was a kid and this has to be the worst experience I've had in one. Went to this specific location yesterday to assist my wife in purchasing a firearm. She doesn't have much knowledge and felt comfortable if I accompanied her in helping her choose one for herself. She doesn't feel 100% confident in most big box stores because in most (not all), from our past experience, have ran in lot people that lacked extensive knowledge and just push sales. After she chose one that she was comfortable with, the employee, Taylor, stated, "Are you sure you're not purchasing this firearm for someone else?", in a very rude manner and in my wife's face. There were at least 4-6 customers ahead of us and some being couples as well, and a comment like this wasn't presented to neither one of them (all being Caucasian). Apart from that the comment wasn't warranted as reasonable suspicion wasn't displayed at all. Due to the discrimination, we requested to speak to his lead, Jeff. Jeff didn't seem to care and made it known that he doesn't see a problem from the employee. We then proceeded to speak to the general manager of the store and he didn't seem to care either. This is a cult-based, buddy-buddy based location and we assume nothing will be done for the employees behavior. We then left and went to Academy Sports and my wife made her purchase and was happier then ever. Will never go back to this location and suggest if you're a minority like we are, don't waste your time here and go to any of their competitors as they will probably show much better customer service and appreciation. On such a busy "Black Friday", you expect lots of people, and probably not getting much help from employees, or just very tired, not helpful ones. In this case, we had the complete opposite. My husband and I walked around looking at clothes, not even seeing any employee. But, when we got to the camping area, we were just causually looking around, when my husband had question about some camp stoves. Ron helped up not only answer his questions, but gave extra help on further items, and how to adjust, if needed, to use Propane vs Liquid fuel. Then, using Propane Pole Tree and Lantern. We spent over 30 minutes with him. He was very knowledgeable! Thanks for having a great employee! Will go back to him if we need anything more in that department! read more

I thought it was ashamed for them not to have a gunsmith, but they did recommend one. I looked at ammo and I suppose that the prices won't come down from COVID. Probably the smallest Bass Pro I have ever shopped at. However the customer service was as every store I have visited, friendly, helpful and welcoming! This Bass Pro is a one story but they have a restaurant inside as well. Not alpt of selections in clothing or certain brands carried in other retail stores. I would say this one is more so catered to fishing, which is amazing but not what we were looking for this visit. The tech FORGOT to install the correct washer & nut that goes w the battery component. 9 months later my ATV dies, didn't know this was the problem at the time. I called last week to see if I needed to make an appt to bring it in & the lady in service said "no." So loaded up & 90min drive later we pull in, only to be told by the same lady THERE IS NO ATV TECH THERE ANYMORE. Was told to drive 2HRS south to Tracker Boats in New Braunfels, 30mins from my house, to get it worked on. Found out from the tech there what the other tech FORGOT to do....so a waste of time & money going there to the Round Rock Bass Pro. We will never go there again. read more

This review is solely based on the supervisor in the gun department today, 11/11/23 at 12:30pm. My husband, who holds a permanent residency here and a navy veteran(of all days being veterans day today), was denied a rifle because the supervisor decided he wasn't going to sell to a Japanese citizen. In his words, he wasn't going to sell to him because there's no reason why a Japanese citizen would need one here. Mind you, my husband has had no problems buying guns here in the states. This guy was blatantly r****t. What irritated us more was that he berated him in front of our son. Whoever this a**hole is, have the day you deserve, you r****t pos. Update - 11/12/2023 - Went to Cabela's in Buda to buy the same exact rifle. The employees are much nicer. Turns out though, that same POS decided to lie and put 3 applications in on behalf of my husband to deny all 3. He also put in notes that my husband was irate. Sir, you're a sad, racist moron. This review is specifically for Lauren, the team lead in the archery department at this store. My girlfriend and I first tried Archery Country to get our compound bows adjusted, and the people there were not the least bit helpful and made us feel incompetent and like we weren't worth their time. So we decided to try Bass Pro even though as two gay women, places like Bass Pro (particularly in Texas) don't always feel super safe to be in. We were so delighted to discover Lauren in archery! She spent tons of time with us and shared all of her knowledge and wisdom about archery and bows. She was kind, thoughtful, and did great work. We both walked out of the store having learned something and with tuned up bows we're excited to shoot. If we ever need any help with our bows in the future, we will not hesitate to revisit Lauren. read more

This is a super store for those like the outdoors from either camping, hunting, and fishing. However they sell other stuff which is very interesting. I like the fact the apparel area has good quality and constantly changes quite often. I picked up some shirts today and one brand was Ascend from which I never seen. I tried it on and fit very well. FYI, if you want to use a fitting room then you need to ring a doorbell which makes a bird call and a staff member will unlock it for you. I always enjoy seeing the fish tank with big fish swimming around. If you are at the right time you can watch the staff feed them. If you feel hungry or want to have some fun then go next door to Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl & Grill. The staff is very friendly and and helped me guide me to what I was looking for. read more

I live close by the RR Bass Pro Shop and occasionally drop in for ammo (overpriced but convenient), camping things (basically same as academy - i.e. mid-quality - but convenient), and occasional outdoor supplies. I needed a 90g CO2 cannister today, and found it on the bass pro website, but the website said limited supply at this store. So rather than waste a trip, I called, SKU in hand. to make sure item was in stock. I waited for the operator for six minutes before trying the gun dept. Same story. Ammo dept - same story. Boat dept - same story. So I decided to see how long I'd be on hold before someone finally picked up. Had it on speakerphone while I cooked dinner. 28 mins - never stopped ringing, nobody ever picked up. I ate my dinner with the phone ringing. Went back online and found exactly what I needed at the cedar park Walmart. Slightly extra drive but quick stock check and good to go. Totally done with the pro shop; I think of them now as basically for people who don't know enough about the the internet to find better quality, prices, and service elsewhere. ‍ read more

Let me set the stage before I get into it. I am a full time RVer traveling the 49 states fishing every state. I looked and compared and finally decided on the 106 PDL. What a great fishing platform. I then found it online at bass pro where I am a pro club member and ordered it on January 30 with the anticipation of receiving it on the 8-10 of February. Now I pay my bills immediately so once I purchased it through my pro membership (bass pro credit card) I immediately paid it off not thinking about the nightmare that was about to unfold. The 8th came and went then the 10th and still no kayak. I called corporate bass pro and they said it shipped on the second. Now I must tell you that I move every 2 weeks and had allocated enough time for the shipment to arrive. Now I'm out of time and had to extend my time at the RV park that I was in and cancel my next RV park, the total cost of $1700. Which at the time I figured what the heck I'm getting my kayak that's all the matters. Bass pro uses a shipping company by the name of ABF shipping for their kayaks. So I called ABF shipping to find out where my kayak was. They said they had a lot of crates in Dallas and it should be expedited for the 14th. When the 14th came and there was still no kayak I called them back and now they have lost the kayak. How can you lose 116 pound kayak? At any rate I have extended here and they have lost the kayak and bass pro just canceled my order. They are sold out now and I have $2000 of my money and I have no kayak and am out $1700 for extending and canceling my next RV park. I am beyond frustrated. My Google reviews get over 250,000 hits and I feel bad but I'm going to have to review bass pro and ABF shipping for this. I'm sure the people will see it and not order from Bass Pro. Also when I called corporate Bass Pro their reply was to offer me a $20 gift card a 1% hush-hush fee to try to appease me and make me feel better. I literally laughed and said that was a slap in my face it wouldn't even put a gas in my truck to go to pick it up at Bass Pro. $3700 out of my pocket and no kayak. read more

I stopped here to shop while waiting for a spot at the bowling alley. I'll admit this is my first time at Bass Pro, but I'm glad I went. It's like a mixture between Home Depot and Academy. The employees were pretty helpful. There is a large selection for all of your fishing needs! There is also a beautiful aquarium in the back of the store. They allowed people to do fish feeding Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm-3:00pm. There's a lot of cool stuff here I never knew I needed! Politely said "no thank you" and made my way to the back of the store, where I was approached to provide personal info to win a store gift card. Said "no thank you" and continued back.
