I have to emphasize "inquire" because how he treated me without thinking I would eventually purchase the painting was unintimidating, not judgmental, and even exceptionally cordial. This was all through a phone call and emails. Understand that this painting was fairly in high demand, and he could easily just treat me as a "number". But he took the time to have a conversation about the artist, the artwork, and the expectations of what I was looking for BEFORE even having anything on hand for me to consider. His email replies were always the same day or the day after. With much appreciation and excitement, he was able to pull through with what I was looking for; and I became a lucky customer of Stremmel Gallery. I look forward to working with Parker again in the future!

I attended the Grand Opening recently and was amazed at the variety of subjects that this artist paints. From local city scenes to local musicians, lots of great things attract his eye. I and my local multiple award winning group, First Take featuring Rick Metz (www.RickMetz.com), as well as many of the musicians that regularly sit in with us, have been honored to be a subject of his a few times. It's always fun to wind up in a painting by a talented artist. It's a small space packed full of lots of paintings. I was surprised I hadn't heard about the Artists Co-Op before today! I learned about it from…read moreanother art group here in Reno and decided to check out the reception they were having for an exhibition entitled, "The Art of Words." When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a kind lady who told me a bit about the co-op. I learned they have a new exhibition every month but display current members' art all the time. I had the feeling that the members have been a part of this for many years. I headed on back to the exhibition and passed through several rooms on the way there where I saw the members' artworks. When I reached the back room for the exhibition, I spent some time admiring how some artists interpreted "The Art of Words." I was mostly impressed with the pieces that were actually made out of the pages of books like dioramas. When a member and I chatted about portraits (which I enjoy painting), I was a little disappointed to learn they would never hold an exhibition of portraiture because "portraits don't sell." I'll keep an eye out for future exhibitions though, because I enjoy supporting local artists.

There were many thought-provoking and educational pieces. I love that the fruit and vegetables planted on site is accessible to everyone. I also love the floral mural and curtains in the lounge. Just purchased museum glasses for framing my paintings, and the visit could not have been more positive. I was just very thankful for how kindly I was treated. I am always hesitant of having my paintings professionally framed, as most framers don't want to deal with unfixed pastel paintings.
