We thought it would be nice to have lunch in Hyde Park, an area we enjoy, and so we tried Hyde Park Pub and Grill for the first time. The interior is full of dark wood, some TV screens for sports, and a bar area. To me, hints of an Old English Pub, which I'm sure is the ambience they're going for. Warm and comfy. The restaurant was not crowded, and we took a booth facing 13th St. Our server, a young woman with shorter hair and some facial jewelry, who was knitting a sweater (how cool!) when she was not tending customers, was our server and took great care of us. My wife had the burger and fries and I had the Fiesta Chicken Salad. Both were delicious! We will be back!

After I had sat there for 10 minutes, directly in front of him, with not even a glance (I was trying to make eye contact and not be rude) I had enough and asked him if I could have a drink....he took exception to my tone??? I didn't raise my voice, swear, anything....and he kicked me out!!!! After sitting there, watching the football game in silence for 40 plus minutes...he never asked me if I wanted a menu, how I was doing....he did bring me water of which I said thank you... All too often good businesses are sunk by bad service! I know I won't be back...especially knowing this sad excuse for a bartender will remain! There are a lot of places around here, with good food, with good service...I will go somewhere else, that's busier, without a seriously pathetic excuse for a bartender! Buddy ordered chicken and accidentally got served the pork belly but he was glad he got to try the two because he said the pork was the better taste of the two. They did still bring him the chicken ones. I ended up getting the Korean bbq wings and buddy got dry rub. Both wings were really good! No complaints there. Will be back to bring my family.

The pepperoni and mushrooms were laid on thick and that crust didn't disappoint. The service was fast and helpful (they put cheese in my salad at first and the server immediately knew it wasn't right and brought me a new one) and the dining room was calm and and enjoyable place to be as a solo diner. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! They were the perfect dessert to end this fabulous meal. Bittercreek has been on my to go list for a hot minute. I'm so happy we got to come here and celebrate my birthday. The food was marvelous. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us! Our waters were always filled. Our cocktails were never dry. And our plates were always filled cause food was always ordered on time for us.
