We were in Bozeman for a few weeks and came to Sidewinders three times. It was that good. Price was just right and we could eat there as a family of 5 (2 adult entrees, 3 kids entrees, a beer or 2 and an appetizer +tip) for under $100, which seems like a rarity these days. And the food was delicious. I would get their spicy fried chicken sandwich any day. PLUS, the service was fantastic each time we went there. Travis is the man and really took care of us! We were so happy to be seated in his section during a couple of our visits. He went above and beyond, was very friendly, always on top of making sure we had what we needed. Thank you Travis!!! The restaurant has a very fun, casual, family-friendly vibe. They also have a small arcade. It isn't much but it was fun to check out. Oh, and the place was clean! My only negative is trying to get 3 little kids through their revolving doors at the entrance (we looked like a circus each time) but I won't ding them for that lol We will definitley come back when we're back in Bozeman! read more

Food was good. Pot pie was great, I hate mushrooms and saw they add them on the "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" episode, but couldn't find one, yay for me! I had a Key Lime Crush cocktail, which was yummy, but when the bartender set it down, he didn't even look at me, just kept walking. Bar seating was at 50% capacity, so no excuse. I said "thank you," twice, then gave up. Food was good, service was ok, but not friendly. I would come back but I wouldn't wait in line. Thankfully, it was 2p on a Thursday. Also, they leave the silverware out on the counters for you to pick out. I'm all for "herd immunity," but all I can picture is a bunch of kids playing with my utensils before I get there. Meeting our son for dinner prior to him going to an MSU event and used their "Join the Waitlist" and showed up on time (if not early) and after waiting 2 hours to be seated, we left. Completely frustrated! It appeared that the hostesses may not have been honoring the "the system" as we were next in line per the app and people who had just walked in or came after us were seated - again we were next in line - supposedly. I've been in hospitality and the restaurant business for over 27 years. I get busy, I get short staffed so I give a lot of grace. These hostesses were not welcoming and almost rude. You won't miss the money that walked out tonight - it's just a sad state when this level of service and behavior is tolerated and accepted. BTW - this is the first negative review (and only my second review) I've ever posted. I usually just let things roll. Too frustrated this time. read more

This space is a classic bar with lots of seating which accommodated our party of 17. We were all able to sit at the same table and the service was good. Our waiter was very nice and patient as well as efficient and she checked in frequently without hovering. I really enjoyed the appetizers and I felt they were the best part of the meal. Since it was such a big group I got to try a lot and I liked the Brussels sprouts, the wings and the mozzarella pepperoni pretzel with cheese. This was some of the most amazing cheese sauce I have ever had and this combo of the cheesy pretzel with cheese sauce is a lot of cheese but it was delicious. I think this place would be great to grab a drink and snack or appetizers as I was pretty full after just the apps. I will say I was slightly disappointed with my main meal which was the chicken broccoli Alfredo. I felt as though it lacked some flavor and after being so impressed with the appetizers it wasn't all I thought it would be. If I were to go back I would just get more appetizers and probably not order an entire meal. We had a terrific meal from start to finish. The house specialty chicken pot pie is everything they say it is. It comes with a ceasar salad and the meal is just right in size. The brewed in house sweet tea is also exceptional. It is sweetened with a lavender vanilla swirl syrup and was so good I had two glasses. For dessert we had the made in house mud pie which was oreo crust with espresso chip ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. The perfect finish to a great meal. The server and service were fine. The food was awful. My burger had no cheese as ordered. I didn't order lettuce but it was there. The sweet potato fries were just warm. The server brought them back. I thought I would receive a new order but instead they refried them and burnt them. The shinning star was that the server took my meal off of the ticket and just charged us for my husbands meal plus drinks. We will not be returning there anytime soon. read more

First time here and 100% worth the money. Every facet of this restaurant is top tier quality. First up, our waiter Ethan was superb. He was knowledgeable about the menu, super friendly and all around a great guy. If the food was subpar, his attitude and work ethic would have elevated the experience. However, the food was fantastic. Started off strong with their pretzel, and Ethan advised us to maybe get it stuffed, so we got it stuffed with mozzarella and pepperoni. That alongside the cheese sauce was phenomenal. Super flavorful, sweet, spicy, salty. Wow. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and it was just what I want in one. Crispy pickles, a little slaw, and the bun was a perfect pair for the sweet and tangy pork. The atmosphere was equally great, thematic with intention but not cheesy or uninspired. I had eaten here two times before and didn't have that great of an experience. My son really wanted to have their giant slice and talked me into giving it another try. He got me hyped on the pizza and the French Onion soup featured on DDD. Who doesn't like pizza? Well I get my 10 dollar "giant slice" that looks like a ufo and half the size of my sons. See the pictures below. Not sure how they let that leave the kitchen considering they came out at the same time. The center was greasy and mushy. A total let down. I would have asked for another one, but we didn't have time. I was hopeful for my French onion soup after that issue. After waiting and checking on it, the soup never showed up. My first time, 4/4/24. Food was awesome, had the chicken pot pie with a Caesar, my companions had burgers and had been there before and said the food is always good. Liked the layout and patriotic decoration. I would drive back over the hill to go there again, I don't say that often. Our server Ben was great, he was up beat and very solicitous. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because: we were meeting for a business lunch and I forgot my pen in the car, instead of going back out to the car I asked a waitress at the front desk to borrow a pen, she complied, she then kept checking thru lunch to see if I was done with said pen, it was obvious we had papers on the table and I was writing things down, while she stared at me. it was funny because it was a cheap pen from a different business, I had no intention of keeping said pen but it made lunch weird. FYI she swooped in when we stood to leave to get her cheap, it was not even from sidewinders, pen. Maybe the company needs to buy the employees more pens or their workers shouldn't bring their special free pens from a bank to work with them and then guard them with their life as if they have nothing better to do on their lunch shift. Sidewinders hadn't hit my radar until we were picking up our rental car and someone recommended it for a stop if we were wanting lunch coming off of our flight. It's always so nice to have recommendations that you haven't heard of. I had someplace in mind day 1 so we skipped it but we drove by it several times when in town and decided to visit one evening when we needed somewhere that was still open and serving dinner after a long day of fishing. We got showered up and ready at our hotel and the "join the wait list" option from yelp was super handy. If you're not really feeling like waiting around out front or in the parking lot this makes it a lot easier. We left our hotel and drove over close to the time it said to check in and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. The place itself is really nice and new, modern, full bar, tv's, indoor, outdoor, spacious, clean, airy... I can go on and on about aesthetics and the service was fine but the food somehow just feel flat for me. I ordered a cup of coffee because I'd missed my mid day latte out on the river - poor planning on my part, next time I'm totally tossing a cold brew or something in my bag but anyways, ya girl needed her caffeine fix - this cup came out totally cold. Not a huge deal I wasn't in full blown bih mode, I simply asked if they'd just throw it in the microwave (which they don't have but said they'd bring me a new cup) ok, the second cup was better. We shared the pretzel and when asked if we wanted it stuffed, I wasn't really sure what we'd even stuff it with. I'm way new to the stuffed pretzie game so went original, no stuffing with a side of mustard and later went ahead and said yes to the cheese sauce. The pretzel was really yummy. I probably could have done with a pretzel and a cocktail or beer but I forewent any alcohol and even ordered a proper dinner. I ordered the chicken pot pie with a side of broccolini instead of the side Cesar it comes with. I don't think I cared much for any of this meal. I do eat meat, had a steak the evening before but somehow ate around all of the chicken and really just nibbled on the pastry puff. Luckily, my friend went sans protein and could finish my dinner for me. I did want to try dessert so that was a good sign but when it arrived it sort of fell flat as well. We shared the baked cookie and while the cookie itself was good, I really didn't care for the odd ice-cream soft serve on top. All in all, I can see where this place would be a popular spot in the area, coming from LA maybe my standards were higher for the food itself. We ate at a divey sort of hole in the wall type bar the evening before and I think I would have rather had that place again. Maybe I ordered all the wrong things, like I said a beer and the pretzel are probably a good choice here. I definitely wouldn't bring someone here if I were trying to impress them with a good meal but more of a nice, trendier looking place to grab some drinks and snacks.
