It's pretty crunchy and a little hard to bite into, so don't be surprised if you leave with the roof of your mouth feeling scratched up. They also give you a little chocolate chip cookie with your sandwich, and that thing was pretty damn good. It's a nice little bonus. Overall, this is a really good sandwich shop with quality ingredients and good portions of meat. The prices are a little on the higher side, but it's definitely worth checking out if you're in Chandler.

First time customer-called up for a pick up and it was very hard to hear the girl on the phone. She seemed to have trouble with taking my ordr and not understanding what size of subs I ordered. We ordered 4 subs and 2 cookies, it was 30.00 which is outrageous for 2 6in subs, a cros. and a 10 size sub. Cros. bun was overcooked and dry. Ordered two pastramis one 6in and one 10inch. When we got them they were both the same length. So I didn't understand that. Company boast about the best pastrami in town., not so. I thing Subway and Firehouse are much better. The sandwichs didn't have hardly any meat on them, mostly all veggies and not a lot of them for the money. I could barely taste the meat with everything else on the sandwich. Tons of mustard on the sandwiches. Services was not very good, staff was more interested in the game on their screen. The cookies were big and good but 2.50 each, so prepare yourself for expensive food and very simple and blane taste. read more

Sidewinder Subs is one of our favorite sandwich spots in Gilbert, and it never disappoints! This visit we ordered The Bomb, the Italian Meatball Sub, and the Chicken Salad Croissant Special. The Bomb was perfectly toasted with fresh, high-quality ingredients that made every bite delicious. The Italian Meatball Sub was a fun twist on a classic--I loved the addition of bell peppers, which added great flavor and texture. My favorite was the chicken salad croissant. The chicken salad was so fresh, and I especially loved the sprouts and apples, which gave it the perfect crunch and a touch of sweetness. It was light, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Every sandwich is made with quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. If you're looking for an amazing local sandwich shop, Sidewinder Subs is definitely worth a visit. I love going to sidewinders. It's a small place but it's usually pretty good! Sometimes I get a sandwich that just seems unstable and falls apart in my hands when I eat it. And if you don't eat it right away it can get soggy, but I don't usually wait that long. I get double meat on my sandwiches when I go in and that makes it way better. The staff is usually pretty quick, but it seems like you have to go in at a slow time if you don't want them to rush your order and have it fall apart when you eat it. They don't have a ton of soda choices, but they do have lots of different sandwiches and chips to choose from. They are always nice, and some of the girls that work there even remember me and can guess what I am going to order. I always recommend sidewinder subs but they could improve on a few of those things slightly to get that 5th star. read more

DOUG, You tell me to call you.. remember your "heartfelt" e-mail this morning??... your girl that answers the phone says your not available right away. when i tell her my name and who i'm with, she didn't relay the info correctly and YOUR STANDING RIGHT THERE!! she didn't even put me on hold so i didn't know you were having her "screen your calls".. after a brief conversation with her you "cant talk right now".. would have been nice if she wanted to maybe take a message.. so it is to my assumption you are only trying to save face on YELP and not actually save a customer, or should i say customers.. don't expect orders from this office anytime soon. read more

I began going to Sidewinders awhile back...a couple of years now. I ended up going to Sidewinders because I drove by it all the time to and from work. I am very glad that I stopped. Sidewinders is the best subs. I have never had a bad experience with them and if you have any questions, concerns or good things to say Doug always follows through with getting you the answers that you need. This is the best sub shop around, hands down. I am a vegetarian and struggle to find really good food that I can eat without getting tired of or that is boring. Rarely, if ever, have I found a place out here with giardiniera and they have it. Its a nice spicy pepper mix and is perfect on their veggie wrap. We order from here a minimum of once a week. I'll admit, I'm pretty picky, but they get it right every single time...love that. Always friendly, always timely and always so delicious. Not only does sidewinders have awesome subs but every time I come in the customer service is awesome. Your not just a number they are very personable and they make sure your order is made to your specifications. I love this place and try to make it at least once per week! I try and get a different sub every visit and still have yet to have a sub that I would not mind ordering a second or third time. Sign up for their email when you go in as the owner is always sending out amazing deals. It is surprisingly a great place to hang out and have a drink as they have great beer specials and a decent selection of 4 or so craft beers. Every sub I try here is very tasty. My daughter even likes eating here, and I'm pretty sure she was in Philly when they booed Santa. So, she's a tough crowd, to say the least. Then, they had a great deal on gift cards for the holidays. The staff is always friendly. Not all up in your business friendly, but smiles and thank yous; genuinely friendly. Food is decent- at best. Boars Head products are definitely not used here. Most of the staff is warm and inviting, and the establishment is kept clean. Best subs in Gilbert, hands down. I recommend "the bomb" or any of their other chicken subs. The bread is fresh and they always have fresh cuts of meat as well. Both were excellent, gyro bowl (lamb) had enough dressing, it mixed and ate really well. The Greek fries, fresh and hot are fantastic, not like to go, no fault of anyone, to fries are inherently soggy. The Pistachio baklava was really good for a weekend munchie. I am coming back.

The concept is very customer friendly, you can pick the type of steak, cheese, and any sauces and extras that you want, for me it's grilled onions and mushrooms The bread tasted like it was home made and the sandwich was balanced perfectly. I also like the fact you can order a sandwich that is perfect portion-wise, the regular sandwich fills one up without feeling stuffed.
