Orient Sushi & Grill is SOLID!! I've come in at least 3 times now and they are pretty consistent. The service is great, and the food can't be beat! I love the AYCE options. You can choose AYEC Sushi or Sashimi for a great price. The AYCE options include whatever is in the regular menu too, I believe. I have sat at the bar twice and they are quick to get your food orders out. It can get loud during busy times but it doesn't bother me. On my last visit here, I met a random guy who also sat at the bar during his business trip. Turns out he is also a sashimi lover like me! I have yet to try the other me up times other than Sushi. The Chinese food looks amazing and the portions are generous. I'm glad I have this option super close to me. It's become a regular spot in my rotation. Offering great prices and services coupled with fresh food made to order, you cannot go wrong here. Lots of parking is available right outside. Stop in and give them a try!

First time here for AYCE ($29.95 sushi) and I think the rolls were a bit too big, especially for 8 pieces per roll. The menu wasn't as robust so it took a while for me to choose an item since nothing stood out. We ordered the calamari app and they gave a huge plate of it without any lemons. The fried rolls were massive. They had penny beers for sake bombs. Service was okay and food came out fast but nothing really stood out for me to want to come back.

We were in the mood for sushi on a Saturday night. Found this restaurant on YELP, read several 5 star reviews from fellow YES members. Looked like good place to try! Parking was easy and plentiful. We arrived about 7:30pm, we were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant's ambiance was lively, busy with a buzz. Loved the open kitchen and seeing the sushi chef's preform their magic, prepare rolls, nigiri and sashimi. They offer AYCE sushi for $29.95 or sashimi for $43.95. We opted for sushi. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered questions we had on a few of their rolls. We ordered albacore, eel, octopus, salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, yellow tail nigiri, a Norway roll, Caterpillar roll and a Salmon Avocado roll to start. The smoked salmon nigiri was the standout! Fabulous flavors, unique, first time I've tried it and will now will be looking for it! The octopus nigiri was chewy and lacked seasoning, the only mid-step of our meal. The eel nigiri and Caterpillar roll was delicious, loved the meaty texture combined with avocado and eel sauce. A great cooked sushi option. We followed up with a tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spider roll. All the salmon, tuna, yellow tail nigiri and rolls were fantastic, fresh and tasty! We tried the spider roll to explore a soft shelled crab roll. It was tasty although not our favorite, we seldom eat fried food. We look forward to returning! Highly recommended!

All you can eat sushi here. When in doubt just go for it! I've frequented here multiple times and the best option is the AYCE. If one person wants the AYCE then the rest of the table must follow suit. I love the avocado salad, seaweed salad, tuna tataki, yellowtail nigiri, salmon nigiri, eel nigiri and many others. Just prepare yourselves for a very full belly if you have no control. If you're lucky you may get a picture posted on the wall and become the wall of fame for Orient customers! Service is good and staff is great. Plenty of tables for a big group and small groups. Will be here again soon!

Been going here since highschool. The portions are big for what you pay for. Service is very to the point. The vibe is chill not fancy.

Disappointed in miso soup. It was not miso broth. It tasted more like ramen broth watered down. Not one tofu piece and barely seaweed. What a waste

The family has been here a few times, and we always leave satisfied. I was undecided, so I went with the AYCE, which combined a few kitchen items (Chinese) along with traditional (Japanese) sushi rolls, maki rolls, and nigiri. The service is great and the food was good (especially the sushi, which seemed fresh). Enjoyed the tightly rolled sushi and the Chicken Katsu was hot and crispy. We came towards the end of the night and were the last ones to leave, but didn't feel pressured to hurry up & finish.

We are still BIG fans of their sushi and tempura. We are AVID supporters of delivery, but I was wanting us to go out for dinner. We decided to come here since they still offer their AYCE menu ($29.95 for sushi AYCE.) We were seated right away, and it was SO BUSY around us for Sunday night dinner. The quality of the fish is always top notch for us. I highly recommend their yellowtail, unagi (eel), salmon, and tempura.

Our family has been coming to Orient Sushi Grill for many years, and it quickly became our go-to spot for celebrations and special gatherings. It was even one of the last restaurants we ate at before moving, which makes it extra meaningful to us. The food has always been fresh, delicious, and a great value. The staff and owner are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful making every visit feel personal and memorable. This place will always hold a special spot in our hearts, and it will be dearly missed.

I feel ashamed of myself for having eaten here so many times only to realize that I never posted a Yelp review. 5 stars all the way. The owners are so kind! My family comes here quite often. If we lived closer, I would come once a week! We typically do AYCE sushi or sashimi. Their sushi is fresh and delicious. I really love Salmon and can eat just that. The space is homey and there's a wall of photos of customers. I highly recommend this place!

Food - I was underwhelmed. I like other AYCE sushi places more. For some reason, I think it didn't taste as fresh as other places. Also, it's a place for large groups. With AYCE they portion out the food too big. If you want to sample the appetizers you shouldn't because they give you big portions that you may not be able to finish before you get too full to eat the sushi. Seemed a bit more expensive than other places. Atmosphere - No strange or strong odors or smells. I did not visit the restroom if they have one. The noise levels were okay. Pleasant temperature inside. I have been to some places where it's been hot or cold. It was somewhat busy inside. Seemed moderately busy. Service - There were about two sushi chefs I could see. I saw a couple of employees serving the food. The service here seemed slow. Order and pay at the table. No self seating. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures or solar panels. Unique - Nothing to add here at this time. Did not see a health rating on Yelp.

When we arrived they were kind of busy which was no problem we had a part of five. We were sat in the area we asked to be sat in which we greatly appreciated. Tony was our server, he took our drink order, when I looked next to me there was an empty bottle and some trash from the people before us and the staff didn't clean it properly and when I handed it to our server Tony , he gave me kind of a dirty look Like left it there which wasn't very nice, but my sister has been to this restaurant many times so I was expecting a really good place. So we all ordered our food. My sister got all you can eat and when she ordered four rolls, Tony looked at her and said that's a lot of food. Don't you think he doesn't know how much she can eat and if she doesn't eat it she knows she has to pay to take the rest home. Very rude. and then he saw me share my shrimp with my daughter-in-law and said you can't share food. I said this is not all you can eat. I paid for one roll and a thing of shrimp I can share with whoever I want again that's none of his business. He knew only one of us got the all you can eat. I was very perturbed at this point. Very disrespectful..... Get a spicy crab Hawaiian roll. I believe it is and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered a five piece shrimp tempura came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious as well. My sister ordered that all you can eat, she had chicken, lettuce wraps, a Vegas roll and some shrimp tempura and one girl I can't remember, but they all were delicious. My nephew ordered a beef noodle Ramen, which was absolutely delicious as well and my daughter-in-law got two California rolls, and she loved them so we have no complaints about the food. The service is absolutely and hopefully they can do some training. When I go here again, yes the food is delicious. And hopefully the staff can clean the tables properly.

Ask the Community - Orient Sushi Grill

What is the price for the AYCE sushi? And is there specific days/times for the AYCE sushi?

What is it included in the AYCE menu? can the restaurant post a picture? the most updated AYCE menu was from 2018

AYCE sushi includes most standard rolls and nigiri, along with a lot of other kitchen items. It does not include expensive sushi items like uni or ikura and of course stuff like geoduck, etc. They also took the kalbi off the kitchen item menu too.

Do they offer AYCE sushi now?

Yes; and also AYCE sashimi too.

    When is happy hour?

They're happy hour deals last 24/7, right now they have penny beer.

Do they have bbq pork rice noodles?

I don't believe so. But they have something similar -- their ramen noodle dish.

Very friendly service, cool vibe in this place…read more Started with a round of vodka mojito and a bees knees. Both delicious. Apps were the Chinese long beans which very good and the avocado ragoon. They were crispy and tasty. The inside was a golden yellow which seemed a bit confusing for avocado but it still tasted great. It came with a sweet chill sauce and a pineapple mustard, both of which were great accompaniment. For dinner we split the shaking beef which was amazing. Tender beef. Loved the pickled red onions. We then splurged on the salted caramel gelato.

Let me start with a little tid bit about Downtown Gilbert. There is nothing really special about it…read moreoutside of the vibe is right. Always a lot of people there so it makes you want to be there. Restaurant wise they have really basic offerings. Places you can find in Mesa, and Tempe, and Scottsdale. Now.... What truly makes Downtown Gilbert special are the small shops that are hidden away from the "main strip". One of those places is Clever Koi. Hidden in the Parking lot space behind Shaq's Chicken spot is a small strip of shops. A book store, smoothie place, and my favorite Clever Koi. Our family has very different tastes when we move from one member to the next. So finding places that we all like gets tricky. Clever Koi makes that easy because we honestly have yet to run into something we don't like. Let's start with our favorite starter. The steamed buns (giggity). The pork belly is hands down phenomenal. An amazing bite that literally makes you want more and more. The lazy fries are just that, again pork belly is included, but that garlic aioli is what drives this dish. The tai salad is obviously classic. The short rib dumplings literally make you close your eyes and just say "Mmmmmm". My middle child is the hardest pallet to please at any restaurant as he only eats certain things, but the Chicken Katsu sandwich here is his second favorite chicken sandwich in all this world. The first time he ate it he spent the whole ride home raving about it. Mind you, we live in San Tan, so not a short ride. The shaking beef is always good. It has this firey kick that brings the heat upfront but does not linger. You cannot forget about the fried rice here. Rice is one of my weaknesses in life second only to pizza. Fried rice ranks right up there with my top favorite ways to eat rice and this ranks right up there with my favorite fried rice places. The main reason we come here is because of the noodles. Ramen, ramen, ramen. When you think of Ramen, I assure you this is what you are thinking of. The broth is oh so savory and reigns in the fresh veggies and proteins to meld them with the noodles for a flavor punch each time you have a mouthful. They have great drinks here as well, or so I've been told by the other adults I come here with. I always just get a sake and Sapporo so... LOL The service is always good here and we somehow always manage to miss the lunch or dinner rush which is awesome. All in all... this is by far my favorite dining spot in downtown Gilbert. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere, in the middle of a great little square. A must eat for me.

The staff was incredibly friendly and even let me sample the Tonkotsu ramen broth after we ordered. After trying it, I honestly wish I had ordered that ramen--it was outstanding! The restaurant itself was also impressive. The dining area was open, clean, and inviting, making for a very comfortable experience. My only criticism would be the pork chashu. While it was tender, it was a bit plain and could use more seasoning or flavor to match the rest of the dishes, which were excellent. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish.
