VERY well smoked meat. Even the lean brisket is tender and moist. Can't get better ribs on Beale street. Pinto beans are different than others but chock full of brisket and bacon so... happy plates all around. Great spot to enjoy a meal on the lane at the harbor! read more

The meat, which should be the main event at a BBQ restaurant, was great. It was tender and flavorful, and they did not skimp. The cole slaw was also really good, as was the sauce (reading another review, I see there was a hot and not hot version?? Two bottles on our table, neither labeled, who knows what we had). This earned the 2 stars. The service and food as served was a miss though. We arrived before the dinner rush, and were seated, but it took quite a while for anyone to come over to take our drink order. Staff were everywhere, so I have no idea what the problem was. They do not have menus, only a qr code (I hate this new trend. Why do I want to encourage my dinner companions to be on their phone at dinner?!)-- our service was spotty, and it would not load. They brought out a printout of the website as the menu-- one for our table to share. It was approximately 20 pages long, black and white, and in a mixed up order. I ended up just picking something I saw on another table, to save time. Oddly, they DID have a printed drink menu-- mixed priorities. I understand they cost money, but please just get menus. I got a BBQ baked potato, a classic at any Texas BBQ joint-- it tasted good, but they forgot half of the toppings they told me would be on it, and when I asked, I was given a tube of sour cream (not really enough for the potato, and just odd), and the skin of the potato was dirty. They were out of silver ware (again, odd... It was not super busy) and so we had plastic ware that was not sturdy enough to eat the hefty potato. Stage servers are awesome, but the food is quite underwhelming. The "Gut Tickler" is a small potato that is loaded. The size of a wendy's baked potato. Not very filling. Don't get the tacos, it's just a tortilla with a little bit of meat, and that's literally it. The appetizers were also quite underwhelming and small, especially for the price. We came here with a group of 8, 2 being children. They have no kid menus or options, and just tell us kids usually get the side of mac & french fries. Kids didn't eat it due to there being too much seasoning since it was made for adult, and not 2 picky six year olds. The sandwiches are big, and the potato salad is good. We had a great experience and the best barbecue in the Metroplex. Our waitress, Stephanie, was right on cue to greet us, make us feel welcome, and delivered that wonderful food. We were lucky enough to pick a night with the Dino Beef Rib Special and what a treat. I had the two meat plate with lean brisket and port ribs. We had sides of Mac and cheese and baked beans. Waited about 45 minutes for our food only to be told that the ribs and white meat chicken ran out and once we switched to dark meat chicken and brisket we got our plate in five minutes. They should have informed us from the beginning that the meats ran out. They have a sign on the door that says once a meat is out for the day they don't make more so I'm wondering why our food took so long in the first place. Then once we got it, it was cold. The cream corn and the green beans were good but a little spicy. The fried okra was horrible, it tasted like old grease. The BBQ is expensive for what you get. Also, the fried pies are not big and homemade like the ones at Bakers Ribs they are the same pies that you can get for $1 at Whatabutger but they cost $3. Bland.... I start off with that word because everything on that we ordered was bland other than the sausage link that on its own was very good, but as far as everything else goes it was like eating cardboard which means no flavor. To me bar b que means extra zest of flavor on everything. This is how I knew it would be bad I ordered Mac and cheese first and the waitress came back saying they were out. It's Wednesday at 5pm and they are out of Mac and cheese at a bar b que spot. Drinks were weak and tasted like simple syrup. We had the pork brisket it was bland we had to keep adding salt and pepper, we added bar b que sauce the "spicy" one and it was bander than the regular tasting sauce. We also ordered the potato salad anther bland concoction, cream corn bland bland bland. I am very disappointed but at the same time they just opened so maybe it's a trial an error mistake. I rarely leave reviews and when I do, the place either sucks or is amazing. Well, this is the later and deserves every star. Solid beer selection, good vibes and most importantly, ridiculously good BBQ. Brisket and pulled pork were legit. No dry meat here folks. Mac n cheese was no joke either. I'm not one to ever be picky but they sort of raised the bar for me. Sauce was great too but def not needed. Also, I did not save room for desert, but my wife said the banana pudding was awesome. We tried Sideways on Sunday for lunch. We were seated immediately and it was fairly busy. A lot of great options on the menu and I ordered the turkey with a side of okra. My daughter ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my husband ordered the Bettermost sandwich and fries. Our food came out quickly and it was all delicious !! I turned my head for one minute and my daughter's sandwich was gone ! She loved it. I don't know how they cooked the turkey, but it was the most delicious turkey I have ever had. It had a nice, spicy edge which made it very flavorable. My fried okra was fried perfectly and it was large enough for all of us to share. My husband's sandwich was huge and he loved it !! The fries are very unique and are wonderful. You definitely need to try their fries!! It is also decorated very Texas style inside too. We will be frequenting them often ! read more

Best costumer service ever!! My son spilled my husbands drink while throwing a fit and the owner brought him a new one and my son a cookie telling him if he was good during dinner he could have it... Amazing. And then when we were getting sat, she offered to hold my daughter so we could get settled. She totally won over this mom... Now onto the food. DELICIOUS!!! And the drinks were amazing too. At 11 a.m. on 9Oct21, I called in a pick-up order of approximately $170.00 for a party that evening. I was told the order would be ready in its entirety when I picked it up at 6 p.m. When I arrived, I was told by the Manager, Mallory, that they had not received a notification by the day shift of the order and I would have to wait some 20 minutes. She also told me that her boss, Laura, would contact me soon to discuss my dissatisfaction and complaint. I waited 25 minutes before my order was completed and needless to say, Laura has never contacted me. REVIEW: Top ranked food, bottom tiered service. I will NOT be going back. read more

The buns for the sandwiches arrived cold, dry and a bit hard to the touch; and the meat arrived lukewarm. The service was meh. Nothing to write home about. We tried out Sideways this last Sunday for lunch. They had a first ever battle of the bands, which was fun to see. They were packed!
