My new favorite lunch spot! I've been back every week since my first visit and will be back again next week for lunch! The Turker and clam chowder were fantastic. I love it! My kid loves it! My picky friends love it! My foodie friends love it! And their variety of desserts sealed the deal! read more

Sidewalk Cafe was a place Steve and I went to the other day in Olympia. We were casually walking around downtown and decided that this was a good place to go as any. We had it bookmarked on Yelp so it was worth giving a try! I got a Tuna Melt kind of panini which was delicious! It had some mighty tasty bread and an lemon kind of oil to the tuna which made the sandwich wonderful! I am usually not too into tuna either but I figured I would give it a try. I was feeling experimental! I also had some greens for my side which was refreshing! We also got a slice of apple pie which hit the spot on our day in downtown Olympia! This lunch place was tasty and fun! We would go back for more of those yummy paninis! read more

For classic club sandwiches, Sidewalk is one of my favorite spots. It edges out 5th Avenue, which can taste generic at times. They have excellent bread, some of which has a nice nutty flavor. Ours always come hot off the grill and beautifully crisped. There are more unique offerings, like the grilled salmon club with lemon caper aioli. They're a small operation that uses fresh meats and veggies, so there's always a danger of the good stuff running out fast. Go bright and early. read more

I really liked this place! Super cute, with quality fresh food items and Olympic Mountain Ice Cream. There is limited outdoor and indoor seating, but the restaurant is bigger than it looks on the outside- I promise. Saw a lot of locals, which was a good sign. The counter person appeared to be the owner, and greeted regulars by name. On my visit, I ordered the chicken pesto panini and my friend went with the turkey- apple chutney sandwich. They were already out of greens, so both our orders were accompanied by chips, which seemed homemade. Had an Amazon local deal (worth $15), so total for both was less than $5! Both my friend and I were impressed with our meals, and can't wait to return to try some new options. read more

Gotta move them up a star. I've been there enough times since the change in ownership, and can say that they put a lot of love into their food. Which reminds me -- disregard reviews over a year old. New owners, cooks, etc. Their soups are great as are their sammies. I especially like their soup and salad combo which you can get with a chickpea salad. read more

This is a tiny cafe with a beautiful outdoor area. I Had the BLT and it was delicious! Bacon was nice and crispy while not being burnt and the bread was soft but crusty. You can tell they have a passion for their community as well. Service was quick and friendly. read more

We had the tuna melt sandwich and the sloppy joe sandwich. The portions were large and the sandwiches were delicious. First bite into the tuna melt and I could taste the hint of lemon. I definitely would come here again and recommend this cafe. read more

Wow! I don't give 5 stars lightly. But these folks killed it. The sandwich was perfection. Grilled just right. All the components came through. And they tasted so fresh. Bacon, turkey, cheese, pesto... goodness! Add to that the Thai Tomato soup and this lunch was singing to me. I can't think of the last time I enjoyed lunch this much... for real. This was awesome. To top it off they had a key lime pie... I always try key lime pie... only once have I had key lime pie that didn't make me feel like I was just eating some form of limeaid. And that was in a really expensive place. I have to tell you no place has ever come so close to that experience as The Sidewalk Cafe. Sweet, tart, amazing crust, actual lime zest in the pie. This way so, so, so good. Stop what you are doing and eat here. read more

It is sadly good. Good think about the place is that it's a good sandwich Everything else nah man probably not coming back Over price as hell... 11 Dollars for a effing sandwich on a lunch special yeah no thank you few blocks away from this place there is a place make sandwiches for 4 dollars Same size and everything The guy said that soup is 5 dollars for a cub and 6 or 7 for a bowl Damn!!!!! Yeh this place is actually a 2 not a 3 but 3 because the sandwich was good Probably not coming back again read more

My boyfriend and I went to check this place out after seeing the positive reviews. The place is locally owned and very cozy... we were greeted by the woman at the counter when we walked in and decided on a Turkey Bacon Panini and a BLT. My boyfriend's sandwich was a little on the too-crisp side... since it was a to-go order he added mayo to it once we got home. My sandwich (turkey bacon panini) was pretty good... the pesto on it was delicious. The sides offered were not to my liking (green salad with housemade vinegarette or kettle chips)... All in all, I felt that 5th Ave Sandwich shop outdid them for the price we paid (a total of $29.00 which included a $2.00 tip)... I am interested in trying out their pies next time as I did see they had coconut cream pie and strawberry rhubarb pie available in their cooler out front...they did have their pies mislabeled though. :) In short: A mediocre experience... read more

When you drive by a sandwich spot and see a meat slicer in the window, it's a very good indication that something real tasty is going to be served inside. When you walk in to find out they roast their own Turkey, things are looking even better. Glance to your side and see an ice cream freezer with Olympic Mountain Ice Cream and wow... get me my lunch. Upon the server's recommendation I went for the club sandwich as it was looking especially "scrumptious" that day and a cup of their someone's original recipe (Sharon maybe?) clam chowder. I waited a couple minutes and drove it back to my office to dive in. The clam chowder was light and fresh, but lacked the umph that I usually look for. I like it real thick, savory, and loaded with herbs, bacon, clams, and whatever else someone feels like throwing in. I can write this one off to personal taste though. The sandwich was good, but not great. The toasted marble rye was very good, the home roasted turkey and double smoked applewood bacon both contributed some excellent flavor, but in the end there simply wasn't enough meat to pull it off. The sandwich ended up totally dominated by the bread. Not a terrible tragedy as it was really good bread, but not ideal either. I'm excited to give a different sandwich a shot and see if it can wow me. They've got the ingredients to make it fantastic, just needs a little tweaking to perfect it. read more

I have walked and drove past this place so many times and im glad i decides to give it a try. Its a pretty small cafe with a few tables inside but sits comfortably. They have daily specials and serve all kinds of desserts. I tried the sante fe chicken panini and salad and wow it was delicious. I would love the dressing they use with their salad because it was to die for. It was about 12 bucks for the special and soda but totally worth it. Will be coming back soon. read more

Sidewalk Cafe - Sante Fe panini with salad. Scrumptious - Sandwiches Near Me - Olympia, Washington

I rarely write five star reviews for any restaurants. But the Sidewalk Cafe has earned this one consistently for the last four years for its catering of our Thanksgiving extravaganza. At my house I normally serve two meals, one for my Korean family and one traditional American style turkey dinner. But a turkey dinner with all the trimmings for 14 people plus a full second Korean meal? No. I can't do that much all by myself. So I have come to rely on the wonderful talents of Sharen and her fantastic crew for our amazing meal. Every year the feast seems to get refined. You get menu items like stuffing with andouille sausage. (A delightful treat with apples for a tasty crunch!) The turkey is always moist and fantastic, perfectly seasoned. It never requires any fussing. Do you have any special need eaters at home? Lactose intolerant folk? They're happy to accommodate that as well! And the mashed potatoes still taste super creamy. So. When you get tired of cooking for 4, 14, 40 people for your holiday gatherings, give the folks at Sidewalk Cafe a call. They can cater the pants off that soirée of yours, all you need to worry about is spiking the punch and doing the dishes! Who can argue with that? Bon appétit! read more

This is a small cafe located in walking distance to the Olympia Farmers' Market and the waterfront. The cafe's mushroom soup was seasoned well. Say yes to their buttery grilled bread to accompany the soup. Complimentary water is infused with cucumber and is so refreshing. My boyfriend said his BLT was the best he's had. read more

My husband and I bought a few Amazon Local Vouchers for this place just to try it out. I am so glad we did!!! The roasted turkey with apple chutney on sourdough was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. The tuna was also delicious. We split the sandwiches, a piece of apple pie AND a huge peanut butter cookie! We will definitely be back because we want to try the meatloaf sandwich. read more

I walk past the sidewalk cafe all the time and have never given it a chance. But, when you are babysitting five kids in 90 degree weather and the sign reads "ice cream"- that all changes. The SC has Olympic Mountain Ice Cream in a dish or cone. The price was reasonable since ice cream for five kids and myself cost about $15.00. The staff was very freindly and helpful, especially with their looks of pity, since I was trying to round up all these kids. I had Northwest Berry and it was great. SC also has deli sandwiches and food. I haven't tried any food there so far, but I anticipate more visits to SC.based on what I saw and tasted the other day. read more

Had a great experience here and will definitely return! Came here on a warm sunny afternoon and ordered the California BLT panini and a salmon sandwich, both of which came with side salads. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. Amazing bread, very flavorful bacon/salmon, and fresh veggies. They also have (free) tap water that is flavored with fresh fruit/veggies - very good. For dessert, I got a slice of marionberry pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream while my wife got a slice of banana/coconut pie. Both pies were incredible and VERY filling. This is one of the best meals we've had in Olympia, and the cost was under $30 for all of it. Awesome. And the ambiance was nice, getting to sit at a table outside just steps from the Farmer's Market. Can't wait to go back. read more

This place is small, limited seating, menu, lunch hours. New England clam chowder was watery, Budd Bay Cafe nearby offers a superior clam chowder. This place shines when it comes to their sandwiches for lunch, we tasted their meatloaf, and ham & cheese on rye, both very tasty and good. Their bread here is much more enjoyable to eat here than at the Bread Peddler. Marionberry pie was decent. Counter service, order, pay, grab an open seat, wait for your order. Overall, friendly, recommendable. http://www.foodspotting.com/reviews/4571244 http://www.foodspotting.com/reviews/4571227 read more

Good place to get lunch if you are in the area. I had the sandwich with roasted turkey and bacon, but they forgot to put bacon on it. What was actually on the sandwich was really good though. I got the feeling that the regulars were much more important than first-time customers, but I guess that's normal for a small place. They have a small ice cream shop in the same building, and it looked pretty good. Overall, I would come back to this place if I wanted a good sandwich. read more

Very good! Our group of 6 was quite pleased. The pork sandwich was delightful. The two quiche eaters did note an extra fluffy character that deserves a half-point penalty, but the scoring system prevents that. Gluten-free is consideration for the demerit. The clam chowder was very good, yet not on par with Anthony's. Still, a '5'. Very well done! read more

I am not from here but am visiting. I tried two places with my gps-one I couldn't find the other one is only open in the evening. So I asked and this place was recommended. I ordered the Alaskan Salmon sandwich with a side salad and diet snapper. They have outdoor seating and since it is about 75 degrees I am sitting outside. The sandwich is very good. Salmon moist and seasoned very lightly, lettuce and tomato and light amount of mayonnaise, the bread was a chibata roll and was fresh. Salad served with a apple vinegarette. You could get kettle chips if you prefer. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. Friendly service and good food. I had a grilled ham and havarti cheese sandwich and their soup of the day, which was a delicous Italian sausage with potatoes. This is my new favorite cafe. I stopped by the Sidewalk cafe several months ago just to check it out. I had intended to have breakfast at the farmers market (my usual weekend habit) but I was tired of my usual fare and wanted to try something new. My daughter and I shared the biscusits and gravy, and we were both wowed by the food! The homemade gravy fas fabulous, as we're the biscuits, and the meal was served with wonderful potatos, delicious and perfectly cooked bacon, and ripe seasonal fruit from the market. We went back the next week and tried the omelet of the day, which was cooked perfectly and stuffed with seasonal goodies. I have come back on numerous occasions over the past few months and never have I been disappointed with the food. I have tried the quiche, the BLT, omelet, biscuits and gravy, a wrap, and pie. The quiche is nothing less than amazing; the best I have had since the Tartine bakery in San Fransisco. The potatoes served with breakfast have been different each time, and are always fabulous. Every detail seems well though out, including the water which is always infused with fruit and herbs (refreshing and delicious). The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked. My only wish is that they would be open a bit later on weekdays, and that they would serve breakfast every day and not just on Sundays. read more

It's a cute cozy cafe for a small number of patrons. The restaurant is not large enough to accommodate more than a handful of orders at once because the panini machine can only make four a time so we had a lengthy wait for lunch. The home made chips were good, but my turkey and bacon panini was just ok. read more

Great spot for a quick and delicious lunch! We ordered the Turkey Panini, Thai Tomato soup, and chowder. Portions are very generous and the food is packed with flavor. I would definitely go back and try other options on the menu. Next time I go back, I'll be sure to take a picture! read more

Everything I tried here was fantastic. I got the Thai tomato soup and a slice of the quiche, based on reviews here. Both were mind blowing. The soup was rich and packed with flavor. We came in here on a sunny Saturday and had what may be the best quiche of our entire lives. Both of the people running the Cafe were very nice and helped us navigate their menu. I highly recommend this place, especially if you're in the neighborhood for the farmers market already! read more
