    Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwich!
    Bill Z.

Cool and quaint little cafe! I did the turkey sandwich with chips and a drink. Good stuff! Service was quick and friendly.

Best spur of the moment decision to have lunch here...Decent array of menu options for breakfast or lunch... The generous serving of beet/kale salad was delicious and filling ( and down the hatch before I snapped a photo! A friend and I each split a bagel with cream cheese and a ham/jalapeño sandwich-fresh and so tasty! Prices are very reasonable and the service friendly. Its a fairly quaint and small space but there is outside seating . The kitchen and floors are sparking clean. Lots of foot traffic ... looking for ice cream, espresso, a cider...and enough take out orders worth mentioning! Close to the Farmers Market, and the waterfront. Parking M-F mighr be a challenge but 2 spots are reserved for takeout! You'll love this little cafe!

    Reuben sandwich

Holy moly. This is one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever eaten. And I'm from New York City. On a quick road trip from Portland to Seattle I was craving a sandwich and this place hit the perfect spot. A must try if you're in the vicinity.

Avocado Bagel with egg and bacon

The best bagel sandwich ever!! Perfect for breakfast and lunch. The service is also so fast and great!

Key Lime Pie is my go-to from Sidewalk Cafe on Capital Way just south of the Oly Farmer's Market. Tart & zingy with lime zest giving the filling a boost. Not sugary sweet as is the usual direction most places take their KLP. The lime flavor gets front center stage all to itself, which makes theirs an enjoyable diversion from the saccharine overload incurred by usual pieces of KLP. Pie filling is also not the typical light pudding texture. Rather, this is a dense, nearly cheesecake like filling that makes a slice of this zippy goodness a seriously substantial dessert. Buttery graham cracker crust is standard fare in taste & texture. Price with typical tip comes in a hair over a fiver, so in line with key lime pie I've found elsewhere around the country. But those others lacked the heft of Sidewalk Cafe's pie by a fair margin. The gentleman manning the order window is open and friendly. Maybe someday I will get around to trying some of their other menu options. But I won't be betting any of my key lime pie money on it.

Ordered avacado bagel on everything bagel added bacon.

Got the Avacado bagel sandwich and I added bacon. (Solid 10) sausage, patty and cheese bagel sandwich added bacon. (Solid 10) both sandwiches were om everything bagel. The soup of the day was split peas and ham soup. I was hesitant because it wasn't my favorite soup but I figured I tried it out and omg this my favorite soup. Veggies were chopped in soup and great pieces of ham in the soup. I rate this soup 10. Clam chowder was pretty good, I rate it 9.5 ..

Salami grander sandwich and a cup of clam chowder :)

Me and a group of friends came from out of town and wanted a good sandwich place and this place hit the spot! I got the salami grinder and a cup of clam chowder. I'd give the sandwich a solid 10/10 and the chowder a 7/10 :) both very good!!

Hubby and I loved our turkey sandwiches. Service was also great. The seating is limited, but we got a table right away. We will be back!

Stopped by shortly before closing and ordered six sandwiches. They were kind to oblige and never rushed us. The beet Rueben was incredible!

The toast was…read moreperfectly crunchy, the avocado was fresh and smooth, and the pickled onions added such a perfect touch with the acidity. We got the soup of the day, which was chili. I wish there were a little more sour cream, but it was still savory and delicious regardless. The lady who took our order was very helpful and super sweet. The place was clean, spacious, and very aesthetically pleasing. I don't go to Olympia very often, but I'll assure you I'm coming back for that toast!

Our barista was kind of rude and, though we told her we would be a second, she stared us down until we decided what to have. For the drinks, white pumpkin latte, chai latte and an Irish cream coffee. The chai was spicy and the white pumpkin had no flavor. The Irish cream latte, however, was REALLY GOOD. The food, orange cardamom, maple pecan and early grey scones. The earl gray scone had a slightly off-putting texture and we realized it was GF (that was def user error) maple pecan since was good, so was the orange cardamom one. The tempeh Rueben, holy knock your socks off, that was an amazing bite. For being plant-based, it was spot on flavor wise, I was shocked! Oh! Super-pricey, buyer beware.

The danish was serviceable but wasn't anything special. Could be because it was later in the day so it wasn't as fresh as ones bought in the morning. The chocolate macaroon was ok, it was soft and flavorful with a thick slab of chocolate on top but similar to the danish in that it was fine, but wasn't the kind of pastry that blew me away or made me feel like I just had to buy it again. I left feeling mostly indifferent. If I come back I'd probably come early in the morning and try something else, or maybe the danish again and see if there's any difference.

I got a little bit scared when reading all the negative reviews about staff not being friendly and having an attitude. I was bracing myself but we had a wonderful gal serve us and the lines were so long and they were extremely busy that she forgot what iced tea we ordered so she gave us both! A chai iced tea and regular. It was so sweet. Also she forgot our croissant but then later comped us the croissant too! The service was amazing so I don't know who the other reviewers are talking about. Also the food was amazing. We requested the peppercini on the side and they totally accommodated and hooked us up. Our bagel sandwiches looked delish and packed with goodies and the pickle complements well with the bagel sandwiches. I also ordered the lemon meringue tart which was delicious. The salmon lox was also really good but we didn't care for the capers because it made it really sour. I would get it without the capers next time. Overall this place is wonderful and I would definitely come again to try their homemade bread/sandwiches next time! The lines are long for a reason.... It's good stuff! But the lines go relatively quickly. Just make sure you know what you want when it's your turn. Parking is basically street parking. I gave it 4 stars because I think it's a bit pricey but I would pay again because it's worth it.
