Cherry Chocolate Waffle and Eggs Benedict Hash brown Waffle
    Sam S.

This spot is definitely worth checking out! There was about a 30 minute wait, but the host takes your phone number so you can walk around downtown a bit. Prices are a bit high, but the food is definitely worth it. The sweet menu had a more options for vegetarian, however, I got the Eggs Benedict Hash brown waffle, which comes with ham, and I was able to ask the ham to be removed to make it vegetarian friendly. The food was so delicious, I'm eager to return. The seating inside is a a little cramped, but not uncomfortably so. There was a piano player there, which was really nice, but a bit loud if sat next to it. I would warn about the air inside though. The ventilation in the building could use some improvement, as it was pretty smokey inside from the griddle. Overall, a great spot for brunch!

Classic breakfast - 1/2 waffle, loaded hash browns, bacon & poached eggs

We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival and drink orders were taken. I had an espresso macchiato and hubby had the apple cider mimosa. The waffles & syrup were delicious and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly - the whites were set and the yolk was wonderfully eggy. The bacon had a great flavor and was nicely cooked. The dining area was warm and lively with conversation. Prices are typical of current inflated times and comparable to other downtown restaurants. We enjoyed our meal very much and will return!

My cousin who has celiac was in town so I decided to try and find a place for us to have lunch. I came across The Leaning Maple and it looked like the perfect place to try. We went during the week so it wasn't too busy which was a plus. It had a pretty chill atmosphere but I could see it getting busy and loud on the weekends. I ordered the Monte Cristo with the Soup of the Day which was a loaded baked potato. My cousin got the turkey pesto with the soup. We both agreed that the soup, we could absolutely devour an entire bowl of! It was so delicious I absolutely loved my waffle as well and would get it again, but would also love to try some of the other options too. My cousin shared that her waffle was perfect and exactly what she was looking for. I will absolutely be returning and sharing this place with others.

The Leaning Maple is a gluten free waffle place. Everything is waffle shaped. My husband ordered the waffle Philly cheesesteak and he did not like it at all unfortunately. I ordered (not pictured) their classic breakfast with the loaded hashbrown. The loaded hashbrown was yummy and the classic waffles were good. I also ordered a caramel apple lotus which was really good! I will say the food is overpriced for what it is. I agree with other reviews that there are too many tables in the dining area. The staff were very friendly but food took a while to come out. This place has some room for improvement for sure.

Four stars - Good We went here for brunch on a Sunday. As you could imagine, it was busy. We had to wait for a while, so we walked around the downtown area and looked through some shops. The atmosphere of this restaurant was great. There was a live piano player, and the restaurant had nice decor. Our server was friendly and checked in on us periodically. Overall, the food was good. It is more expensive compared to other places. Unfortunately, our food was a little cold, but it tasted great. We will probably go here again if we are in the area.

Make Reservations Sweet and Savory waffle options, super cute atmosphere, friendly staff. I have only managed to make reservations once and the rest of the times I've tried- they're booked up. That speaks for itself It's on my favorite list - I just need to pre-plan sooner so I can get reservations. Haha

Banana Nutella waffle; Monte Cristo; and baked potato hasbrowns (YUM)

First. This place is awesome BUT needs to get better ventilation! I ordered the banana Nutella waffle. It came without Nutella and as soon as the server (who was very nice and helpful) brought it to my table, he asked, did you ask for no Nutella? And I said, ... no, so he took it back and they drizzled Nutella all over it. It was good. My husband ordered their take on a Monte Cristo waffle-wich. It was pretty good; it wasn't deep-fried and it could've used more jelly and powdered sugar. The faux-mosas were excellently overpriced juice, but it made me feel fancy. There was live piano which was awesome! The only downside is they need to get the ventilation going; it was smoky inside from the cooking and I could smell it all over me when we left. Blech. It was definitely a detractor from the overall lovely decor. Oh, and make a reservation (it's very easy) unless you can wait 45 minutes.

Beautiful ambiance, with 70's music. Excellent variety of waffle dishes and many other choices. Clothing and other items for sale. Attentive staff. I had wanted syrup but was offered more pesto which for better for my sandwich.. All delicious. No refill on tea but you can reuse your teabag and they'll bring more not water

This restaurant made my soul sing! The ambiance is top notch with cozy coffee house music playing, plants, pristine tables, cozy feel good items for sale, and a quiet hum about the place. The servers are attentive, kind, and helpful. We aren't big coffee drinkers but Lizzie was able to suggest perfect drinks for our personal tastes. I ordered the cinnaberry waffle and the hubs got the waffle breakfast. You can't even tell the waffles are gluten free. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I would come here every week if we lived closer. Highly recommend a visit.

This was our first time eating at the Leaning Maple. What a delight! The place was full on a Saturday at 11am with live piano music and great atmosphere. We were greeted warmly & seated right away. Coffee was good although mine wasn't very hot. Our server was friendly & knowledgeable. The kitchen is fully gluten free and the waffles were amazing - light and fluffy and the perfect consistency to hold all the breakfast ingredients on top. I forgot to take a photo of my friend's meal - Salmon Lox Waffle. She said it was delicious. 5 stars! Yumm! We will be back for sure. Next time I'll try an açaí bowl.

It was cold the day went but, if you get warm weather, try for their outdoor patio. I ordered the lemon rosemary hummus (delish) with gluten free crackers and it came out with lots of sliced veggies, olives and pickled carrots and onions. A great value! My main course was king salmon and it was perfect. I ordered a lemonade and was disappointed that the tall skinny glass it was served in was full to the top with ice, so there was very little left to drink. My husband enjoyed the Cesar salad he ordered, tasted like a traditional Cesar. He tried the special beef cheeks and found them to be very fatty and gelatinous. He wouldn't recommend them. They did have a N/A beer option he was happy about. Service was attentive and friendly.

The food was good. I ordered a side of pasta and salad to go with the chicken parmesan because it felt like the dish was lacking without anything else. Based on my experience ordering this dish at other restaurants, chicken parmesan is typically served with other sides. Despite my one gripe, I would recommend going here!

Today, I went in for the vegan eggnog and asked for the chef's choice vegan plate. I was served bland pasta noodles with mushrooms and a little spinach. How does vegan translate to no spicing? My mother is first generation Italian and I adapt half of her recipes to vegan. Oregano, rosemary, thyme... there are so many options. Vegan butter and cream are available but I understand an additional expense (not compared to what I paid for plain noodles with mushrooms). It seems clear to me the chef lacks imagination is cursed with writer's block when asked to cook for a vegan. I poured tapatio and black pepper over it for taste. I could have saved money and prepared a better authentic Italian dish myself. Vegan does not mean bland. My husband loved his brie mushroom omelet. Strongly recommend if you aren't vegan.
