Shame on me for being stupid enough to try this place again. First 2 tries the service was merely bad. Tonight was supremely awful. Waitress couldn't get from behind the bar because she had to entertain her friends gathered there. When asked for something, a snippy "I'll get to you" and then another 20 minutes later she arrives. After waiting for one last glass for nearly 30 minutes, with food still on the table, I went to the bar at 8:55 to ask for another round, greeted by a snarled "I called last call 10 minutes ago." Epic fail. Their cost profit margin is ridiculous. They offer nothing to make them stand out. $12 to watch them slice cheese I could've got from the grocery store for less. Ridiculously overpriced. I attended a wine tasting session known as, "Rose for days." My friend had seen the event on Facebook for $17. Upon arrival, I was told that the event was by reservation only. Luckily, the host encouraged my friend and I to stay. It's a small establishment. Yet, intimate & modern sheik. We sampled 8 brands of wine. I love this wine bar! Sophisticated and cozy, it is a bright spot in downtown Olympia. I appreciate that Stephanie, Lori and their crew know my taste palate and suggest the red wines they believe will suit me. I am a member of their wine club and receive new wines each month that I enjoy. They have worked hard to stay in business during this pandemic while honoring safety guidelines. They have been creative and have helped to lift up other small, local businesses. My sister gave me a gift certificate to the bar and had she not done that I would never have know they existed! I took my wife on a cold winter night and we loved the cozy and warm environment. We were greeted and after a short conversation of likes and dislikes our server returned with a couple selections for both of us. We chatted and tried them both and were offered additional selections. Both of us had a WONDERFUL glass of wine together, some cheese and chocolates, and a great time together just relaxing away our week. We will be back and as regularly as we can get a childcare for a Friday night! For those of you who don't regularly order wine out - at a wine bar you expect to pay for the experience of a well selected and catered glass of wine. The same is true of any nice restaurant a single glass is generally close to the price of a half/full bottle. However, don't let that discourage you from going. Having someone work with you on finding a wine you like is worth the price and the experience of having a bar where you can sip and enjoy your company in comfort is priceless. read more

My favorite place to have wine, conversation & make new friends. I had my birthday party at Rumors Wine Bar last month, so much fun and really felt like a very special guest and so did my friends! They have a great selection of wines. Great ambience and the owners are warm and friendly. My husband and I have been coming every Friday to start our weekend for the past two years. Good things: - Really friendly staff. At least, the one gal that I met that was working while I was there. (This place is tiny so I don't know that they'd ever have more than one person.) Anyway, she was super friendly and knowledgeable about wines, and we had a good chat at the bar before my friend joined me. I always appreciate that because I've met plenty of grumpy wine bar employees before. - Getting to taste wine beforehand. I don't know if this is something wine bars normally offer, because I have never had someone tell me up front that you could taste any wine before you bought a glass. But she let me know this here, and I found it super helpful. - It's just really cute. The bar is super tiny but they put a lot of effort into making it really nicely decorated inside. It feels like being in a friend's dining room/entertaining room, if your friends are more swank than mine... Bad things: - No wine list. The other reviewer is not kidding. This is ridiculous, and also really really easy to change. It's somewhat made up for by the fact that they really seem to know their wine, and so I was able to ask about all the wines that were up on the wall. But it still would be nice to look at something printed! - The prices seemed a bit steep to me, especially for flights, which are are all $15+. Many of the wines are also $15 a glass. Eek! Overall, however, I really liked this place and I would come back - especially to try the food, which looked good. Hopefully they'll fix the small problems they have at some point. read more

My wife and I have gone there quite a few times and done a couple of wine tour events. Staff have been extremely accommodating to my food allergies. Great atmosphere, great drinks. Small but delicious beer selection for those times when I'd prefer a beer over wine. Friendly, comfortable, and clean. I highly recommend attending one of the wine tours - they are super fun! Let them know ahead of time for the tours if you have food allergies so they can prepare. read more

Imagine walking into a wine bar that has no wine list. You ask the owner, and she points to her head and says, "It's all up here." Then imagine asking for a Bordeaux-style blend. You know, a simple Cabernet - Merlot. The owner looks at you with a puzzled look on her face, and asks you what that is. Luckily, her distributor is sitting at the bar, and he points out a bottle to her. So now, you've got your glass in front of you. You go to taste it, and you smell something funny. You taste the wine, and your taste buds confirm that this bottle has been open for a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time. So, to sum it up, you've got arrogance mixed with ignorance mixed with the worst in customer service. My only regret is that I can't give this place ZERO stars. read more
