The pizza is SOOO good, and the staff is always real nice. Been back a few times to make sure it was as good as it seemed the first time...and it always is! We'd been meaning to try this place ever since we moved to Oly a few years ago, and man we should have tried it sooner, it has become our favorite pizza along with (but entirely different than) Old School. Oly Taproom is a great place to eat and chill, or to meet friends, have a conversation or people watch, and on nice days they often open the garage door type windows making the inside seating feel like part of the outside, which is cool. As a bonus, after your meal, the Percival Landing boardwalk is right across the street, so you can take a walk and take in the lovely views. Besides the beer on tap, there are more in the coolers, as well as some soda options (and I think iced teas?). I'm not a big beer drinker but the staff is always great about helping me choose the right one based on my preferences, and because there are hops in the pizza sauce, the pizza & beer combination is especially delicious. But for non-beer drinkers, the pizza is still super tasty and the sourdough crust always cooked just right. read more

Oly Taproom was a mostly pleasant surprise! Very nice selection of beers and pretty good pizza, relaxed but not creepy ambiance, friendly staff, all good ... except for the hops in the red sauce. Although our server reassured us that you couldn't taste them, even my IPA-loving, definitely-not-bitter-sensitive husband could absolutely taste them. Of course there's plenty of good drinks to wash away the bitter taste, (the cynical part of me suspects that's why the hops are in the sauce in the first place - to get you to drink more) but that being said, I would give the place five stars were it not for the bitter red sauce. Had a great time at Oly Taproom and would absolutely recommend it. They have a really solid selection of beers with a nice mix of local and regional options, making it easy to find something you'll enjoy whether you're experimenting or sticking with a favorite. Shared a plate of nachos with a friend, it was the absolute WORST. Tortilla chips drowned in canned cheese sauce, with cold canned chicken breast pieces and a few sliced olives and tomato chunks. Watery grocery store salsa and sour cream on the side. Really terrible. read more

Oly Taproom had good pizza, but I felt incredibly awkward there. The outdoor seating was preferable to indoor seating even on a rainy day in December -- little space heaters on each table made it bearable, and the shelter kept the rain out. Inside was so quiet that it felt like every patron was listening to me order. The bartender seemed chill to a fault, as if he had to remind himself to come back to earth for every response. Cool guy, no mistake, but I couldn't help but feel like a clueless outsider while I was there. The slightly cringey chalkboard message declaring that "We have no WiFi - talk to each other and pretend it's 1995" didn't help. The pizza was pretty good. We did a half-and-half of Hawaiian and BBQ Chicken. We both preferred the richer BBQ Chicken side. We came to the Olympia Taproom as a party of three on Sunday night at 7:30 PM. We admired their beer fridges while we waited for our Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. We love the vibe-it is very casual and relaxed, and you can play an assortment of their boardgames if you feel like it, and take some excellent beers to go! Their signage is quirky and fun too. Ate here on a whim with some friends while exploring downtown Olympia and I have to say their food was great! Ordered a 16 inch pepperoni pizza which was made on a thin crust; it had the perfect amount of everything and the crust had really good flavor to it. We also ordered some buffalo wings. I always mentally prepare myself for how spicy buffalo wings might be, but this was perfect in heat. It has just the right kick to it and it went well with their ranch sauce (possibly made in house). Our first visit to the Oly Taproom June 21st was to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. Initially, it was a bit crowded for me and my wife. But after my first Oly Taproom 10-Year Anniversary West Coast IPA (pretty tasty) the experience mysteriously seemed to improve. We met a bunch of nice folks. And later we shared a pizza (also tasty) with our family members Dwight and Hallie. Levi, the current owner announced to the crowd that Dwight would be taking over the taproom sometime in July! My dad and I go here frequently after playing Pokemon Go at Percival Plinth with friends. The beer selection is usually great, and the sourdough pizza crust and hop pizza sauce are delicious. It's a unique tasting pizza very worth trying. It's dog friendly, and their covered outdoor area with heat lamps is very comfortable. We love coming here with our pups. My only complaints are that 1) they sometimes don't have a truly dark beer (stout or porter) on tap, and 2) they have zero dessert options. If they could make sure they always had a stout or porter, and offer a cookie or brownie or something like that, I would give it 5 stars for sure. read more

I'm sorry, this taproom really deserves FIVE stars, but they ran out of non alcoholic beer though their source is in town. FRUSTRATING. Realize this is a place that serves alcoholic drinks but they almost always, except today, have some here. Yet, they are really awesome and have amazing people here. Food is a little spendy for what you get but it's good food. The parking around here is somewhat challenging so glad it's somewhat overcast and not crazy busy. The building and inside space is really well maintained, picnic tables outside look new, everything is ideal, except above. Really deserves five stars. Attend an event here and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the place and the staff. The menu isn't large but everything we tried was delicious! We are still talking about the food and it's been weeks now! They obviously have lots of beer choices and such but if you don't drink alcohol there is also a cooler of nonalcoholic beverages so you won't be thirsty. Now how simple is this for a business plan? Just sell beer. That's it. They have 14 on tap and who knows how many in the bottle. Some of the on tap comes from eastern WA and is not commonly available on the Worstside. Each glass is poured very well, respecting the beer and beer maker. OK. I exaggerate a little when I say all they sell is beer. One of the on taps was a hard cider. I did see they offer a red and white wine. Not to mention peanuts or chips. It generally seems like if I show up within 2 hours of closing, there is a pretty good chance the kitchen is already closed.
