Decided to have a small quick lunch here at this place. Matt was the bartender. It was very friendly. I ordered the BLT and had a black logger, which was one of their flagship beers. Place with a little slow, but that was only because I was there within the first half an hour opening. The place is very clean, very organized and they had merchandise and a very visually appetizing from within. The BLT came out and it was very good. The sun-dried tomato mayo was phenomenal. There was a lot of bacon and the tomatoes were very crisp and fresh which had added a bunch of flavor to the sandwich. I would definitely come back again if I live closer and check out more items off the food menu. I did end up buying merchandise which was a tin sign and some stickers to go home with. read more

Had a great time here after Procession of the Species. The space is great with lots of seating, two small outdoor patios, and high ceilings. There was an amazing artist playing guitar and singing. Found this place on Yelp as since my kid moved to downtown Olympia there is so much to try when I visit and well, I like beer. We came here for lunch, found parking easily enough. Greeted quickly and sat quickly although it was not very busy. Began to look at the menu and our server was already there asking what we wanted to drink. Hadn't had a chance to scan the QR code for beer yet so....she came back a couple minutes later and we ordered our beers. Hadn't figured out our food yet though. I think this might have annoyed her. Am I the only one who needs just a few minutes of time to look over a menu at a place I've never been to? Do other people sometimes chat while seated before just diving right into things? We both ordered the black and blue burger and it was ok. We ordered the dill tots but there wasn't much dill to it. My beer was ok, my daughter said her cider was not her favorite. Then the check came and it was one of those pay while I watch you put in my tip deals. I personally feel panicked and pressured doing that and I end up feeling guilty that I tipped too little or too much. Then we sat there for a while to finish our beers and not be acknowledged anymore. I'm learning in Olympia that #1 I'm old. #2 everyone else is not old. #3 patience is definitely a virtue. The fried chicken was unfortunately very dry, and the breading wasn't adhered to the chicken. Im not sure if the wet ingredients in their batter lacked, but it was disappointing to see the chicken and the breading fall apart from each other. The waffles were made with touches of pearl sugar, which was a unique touch, but the waffle overall ended up being overly sweet. I did like how they use real maple syrup though. The Smashville chicken sandwich was slightly better in flavor in terms of a dish, though the chicken and their sandwich bread combination wasn't particularly memorable and the chicken wasn't crispy. The L.A. street-style tater tots had decent flavor from the sauces (like the gochujang) and pulled pork, but the dish felt heavy overall and could've benefited from more spice or acidity to brighten it up. My boyfriend have tried four different beers here and felt they were just okay -- none really stood out. Every time I visit Olympia we come here. We are big fans of the appetizers specifically the Brussel sprouts. I've been 3 times once in 2022 and twice this year and they're always delicious. Sometimes they're extra crispy and I love them. Yesterday not as crispy but flavorful. Friday the soup of the day is the salmon chowder and it's fantastic with hot sauce and the garlic crostini and a Caesar salad. It's a big portion. The place has good food but is really expensive. Lunch for two was $70.00 That was two sandwiches and two beers. You have to pay extra for any sides so we did pay extra for one order of fries to split. You would think for the price that would include the French fries or some kind of side. I have visited many times and sat at the table near the fireplace during the winter. Others sat there with no issues. Now the first person to sit there gets the whole table! Even during the Mariners game with a large crowd. The same applies to the long bar tables with one or two people. I would understand if they were reserved but what snobbery! Well this is my first Restaurant review! So first off cool building, love the wooden tables, Well 80 is a classy American sports Bar with great servers. For appetizers I have Big Drill style fries with had Drill, salt and parmesan cheese on them they were good, although I thought they were a bit salty. Score 4/5 Next I tried their Oly style Tater tots with onions and frie sauce, I can tell you those were the best onions ive ever had! Score 5/5 Also had a 5 glasses of Mountain Dew very good. For The Main course I had their Chinken and Waffles (Now not to brag but I make a pretty good C&W so I mine to other people's.) I can tell you. Their chicken was better than mine. The breading was really good! 4.5/5 The Waffle to me was overly sweet especially with the maple syrup that came with it. I should have know when it said "sweet belgium Waffles." We were walking around downtown Olympia, brewery hopping and happened upon this place. We were greeted by the hostess and even after we told her we were going to the bar she still followed us and gave us menus (great hospitality!). The bartender was great and greeted us then gave us time to decide on what we wanted to drink. After a few minutes she came back and we ordered a flight of beer and some chili lime popcorn (popcorn is 80 cents!). Came here...well, because it was a rainy, boring Saturday afternoon. They didn't have much on tap that interested me, but decided to go with the 1896 Lager. It wasn't half bad. The menu didn't really interest me either...but ended up going with a classic pizza. Which was just okay. One of us got the chicken and waffles, which was just that. Decent sized portion, but nothing that made it pop. One of us got the Caribbean Pork sandwich...which was just "okay". We decided to try the pretzels since they are the special for Saturday. They were good. The cheese was the best of the three dipping sauces. Not much hype here...not really impressed. Seemed like a pretty chill spot. I finally had a chance to wonder in this place that I pass on my way home from work. I ordered something modest, Brussels sprouts which was enough for 3 people! Delicious I ended up taking food for the family and everything we tried was delicious! The brew house salad is amazing and the Mac and cheese was rich and filling without feeling like too much. I recommend the pulled pork (so good) to balance the creaminess. Went back with the gals a few days later and found that the happy hour Brussels were the same portion as the regular size?!! Whaaaat? Went on a Thursday night so it wasn't packed at all. I only ordered the tomato soup. Which was pretty good, I felt like it just needed some croutons. I tried several things from my dinner mates. The brussel sprouts were bomb. Tots were fried to perfection! Also the s'mores waffles .... Get them! Omgggg! The Caribbean pork didn't seem super flavorful but my sister enjoyed it! Our family periodically takes trips to Ocean Shores and when we do Olympia is where we'll stop for lunch. We usually switch it up but have a feeling we may just return here. Large space with high ceilings, loved all the old Olympia Beer stuff. If you go to the restroom when you're there look at the black and white photos in the hall leading back. They're all still shots from movies Olympia Beer was in. Staff was friendly and checked back to make sure things were good and water glasses stayed filled. We all enjoyed our meals. Interesting that one of the many definitions of the word well is "in a good or satisfactory way". Although Well 80 uses a different definition of well, this place was exactly "satisfactory". No better or no worse. The food was satisfactory. We all has burgers that were small but tasty and had to pay extra for fries = satisfactory. The IPA was tasty, but the "pints" seemed a bit small...satisfactory. So if you're looking for a satisfactory experience, Well 80 is certainly the place for you. read more

I wish I had come to Well 80 much sooner than this Saturday! I really enjoyed myself. We were out and about and wanted to celebrate the beginning of October with some beer and snacks. Well 80 little Lisowksi Sour Amber: this sour-amber balanced well. This was the darkest gose I have ever had, and I loved it. I decided to switch gears on my beer, but I could have drank this the whole time and been satisfied. Well 80 ocktoberfest: this lager was very nice and light! It complimented the food and the hops were gentle and left a nice aftertaste. Chili lime pubcorn: We came in starving, and we needed to have something to munch on. We love this pub corn! Simple, but it was well worth the 80 cents to have something in our bellies with our beer while we waited for... Oly animal fries: these are sublime. This was pure indulgence and it was so good. The caramelized onions and the sauce made this very savory, and hard to share. 2 Brewhouse Pretzels: their pretzels came with 3 dipping sauces: the mustard, pineapple-habanero sauce and pub cheese. The pretzels went well with all the sauces and were soft. Our only regret is that we didn't stay here for longer! The waitstaff were friendly, and there were many things that we wanted to try on the menu. We will come back next time with more stomachs! read more

Lovely lively brewhouse in Olympia. Stopped by on a Tuesday for dinner and the place was buzzing with a lot of folks. Seems like they were having a trivia night and everyone was having lots of fun.
