It has some comfortable seating around, so we ordered beers at the bar and sat outside. They had 12 (I believe) beers on tap - 10 of thier own and 2 NA ones from somewhere else. I visited Three Magnets Brewing on a Tuesday with the PMI members of Olympia, so my visit was brief, and I had about two beers. I can't recall the specific beer I had, but I know they were out of my preferred Porter. I didn't try any food, but it seemed like they had a lot of activities, such as scheduled bingo games. It seemed very team or family-oriented. The atmosphere was chill and peaceful, depending on the time of day. Parking is street parking , which I believe is free after a certain period. There are food trucks, but they close around eight, and I think the establishment does too. Be aware that if you enter from the Franklin street, there's no direct access, so you have to go around the building, which was a bit confusing for me. Other than that, I plan to return and check them out. They have some good drink options, but Olympia is quite a distance from Spanaway, so if I visit again, I might stay at a hotel nearby and enjoy the experience. Really enjoyed this place! It was hard to find from the street because it faces a parking structure but I'm so glad I did find it! Lots of seating outside with inside having bar seating, long high top communal tables and a few lower tables for groups of 4ish. The staff were so lovely and made great recommendations. We were pleased to know they make non alcoholic beer and refer to them as self care options. My husband couldn't believe he was drinking a hazy ipa non alcoholic beer! And they had even more to choose from! When we were there, the Seahawks were playing and there were only. A few people inside. A great option when you're annoyed with the over crowded sports bar scene. There was only one food truck which we didn't try but the worker there said any outside food is welcome. They do sell snacks such as candy, chips, nuts, microwave ramen, etc. I really liked it here and will be back soon! read more

Great beer in a chill brewery! Very nice decor with a super interesting stained glass wall above the taps. The beer selection is pretty broad with a bunch of IPAs, as well as some neat German styles that you don't see too often. read more

I'm currently sitting at Three Magnets with a schooner of their Self Care festbier, so I maybe biased, but this is one of my favorite places in Olympia. Not bars, not pubs...places, period. Their beer selection reliably has something for everyone, and their non-alcoholic line (the aforementioned Self Care) is unparalleled, at least regionally. The Taproom is dog- and kid-friendly, with a spacious patio, food trucks, and regular feature events. And the staff are all super friendly. The only downside is uncomfortable seating, but that's clearly not a deterrent. Basically if you haven't been to Three Magnets, you're missing out! read more

I'm pretty shocked this is only 3.5 stars. The food here is really great. The beer is really great. The atmosphere is awesome, there's parking, the staff is super friendly - it's a whole vibe. I really love their Mojo Bowls (chicken or carnitas) - it's a healthy portion and deliciuos. And their Scherler pilsner is great. The cheese curds (I think they call them moonrocks) are must-get. They offer GF buns and dairy-free cheese. There is plenty of bar and tall top seating, regular small tables and a large covered patio. In the summer they do live music on the hill behind the brewery and they are big Sounders fans and watch all those games - as well as anything else that is important to the patrons. Cool location downtown near the courthouse. Indoor and outdoor seating is avail. Indoor seating is a mix of traditional tables and communal long tables... it was a little dark but I suspect it was the time of day and such. Had the fish and chips... hell yeah!!! 3 generous Cod Portions and hand cut fries... the starter sauce was pretty dang tasty as well. The server was very friendly and attentive. She knew the menu and her service was spot on. I think this place likely hops at lunch and in the evenings. If I'm not off my mark... the owners owned/own Darby's which was featured at another location on DDD but has since been absorbed here as they had to compress their interests due to a Budding fam. They have plenty of parking but it's tiny cramped parking, if have bigger vehicle FYI. Had the Pompano burger and regular fries were mediocre at best, not remarkable. Yet, the burger more than made up for any lacking quality of fries, it was really amazing! The meat itself was very good and tender, wasn't dripping with grease, scrumptious. Only downside was more of a well done instead of medium burger, will adjust next time when order. Highly recommend this brew pub, plus, they have excellent non alcoholic beer! read more

Soup per my wife, was awesome one of the best she has had. Fish and chips where great. Beer Batter was very good. Make sure and check out the stained glass above the bar. Good spot to have a bite to eat or a cold beverage on a hot summer day with social distancing! They have about 10 picnic tables setup all over the back of the restaurant/brewery that fit 6-8 people each. The contactless ordering and pickup system is easy and efficient. It was nice to be able to enjoy what they have to offer outside properly distanced from other groups. Someday we will enjoy the inside but for now this is a great alternative! read more

Food: I don't think I've ever had anything here that I didn't like. I've been for brunch and dinner and have always been happy with the food. For breakfast, the chicken and waffles and the burrito were a big hit. If you go for lunch/dinner you can't go wrong with the frites or the salmon bowl. I love the moonrocks but the portion is a bit small. Beer: Great beer selection and something for everyone. Service: Service can get a bit slow but they are generally friendly and attentive. Ambiance: Can get a bit loud during sporting events but it's a great place to come for a casual and relaxed meal. Can feel crowded inside at times, but it's great when it's warm outside and the patio seating is available. We first came across this hidden gem while doing the "Sip-n-Stroll" in downtown Olympia. At that time we only saw the private event space but were impressed with the sampling of food & beer served for the sip-n-stroll. Recently we went back on our own and were pleasantly surprised with the vibe in the main restaurant space and I myself was overjoyed to find out they serve spirits!!!! Came here for brunch today with a party of five. Arrived around 11am and we were seated right away. The food was good - the cheese beignets and French toast sticks were particularly good with the raspberry preserves. Our entrees were well prepared and tasty. I had the smoked salmon benedict, which had large portions of smoked salmon and perfectly cooked home fries. Service was good. Note - the entrees are all savory and there are no pancakes or otherwise sweet dishes. Overall, I recommend coming here for brunch if you like a savory breakfast and I plan to return next time I'm in town. read more

Really enjoyed my visit, but a few misses. Each IPA was really tasty, but they only had a two. I would've loved a bit more selection. The patio was a great setting to drink in. The pickled veggies were really good; very pickled. The cheese curds however are a must pass; Panko crusted for some reason and hardly a hint of cheese in them, which is fine because it doesn't appear to be cheese curds, but just cheese. The pretzel was good, but the berry flavored mustard was gross. Not one person at our table could even tolerate the mustard. Great overall experiences, but some menu items I would definitely steer clear of. read more

Been coming for years. The location is great, good seating outdoors and in. Nice brewery. Food is very dicey. We've been here dozens of times, and something alway comes out black (charred), cold, or raw. There is no basic quality control. Do not expect to get good food here. Doesn't matter if it's slow or busy. Someone needs to train kitchen staff and train them again (and again) on basics. Ordered the Cuban today, the meat had been fried to a crisp, and the bun was literally black and hard as a brick. If it's black, don't send it out. Blood red with bloody juices flowing is not medium (a typical burger experience). Fries frozen in the middle are well, frozen. I'll still probably going to support the business because there's not much else in this town, honestly. So this is more of a plea. Management, please, train your kitchen staff. read more

Really love the vibe of this place. Note: I have not read any of the other reviews. First of all, it's great beer. Happened to be traveling for work and realized it was close by so coming here was a no brainer. Upon entry it was so unassuming and just "find your way past the brewery to the noise in the taproom" that I couldn't help but smile. These are my people. The beer staff was fantastic in entertaining my questions and requests. FANTASTIC. The stained glass art showcasing the beautiful PNW above the bar was stunning. The smell of garlic kept me frisky the whole time I sat and sipped. I stumbled in (unbeknownst) on their anniversary and it was so unpretentious and perfect - the taps were unique and rare and nobody cared, it was busy and exciting but not snobby or exclusive. This is a great locals pub that has survived the pandemic by cutting out its food menu and bringing in a very solid Indian-fusion food truck to fill the gap. If you are from out of town and coming here with expectations beyond what you would have for your own favorite hometown pub, I don't know what to tell you. Go eat at the marina. This is a brewery with very high standards for their beer. Come here for the beer and games and no b.s. vibe or go somewhere else. And, yes, their non-alcoholic beers are some of the best I've tried (on par with Athletic). read more

I walked in here having absolutely no idea what to expect from them, and that's speaking as somebody who spends waaaay too much time reading about new breweries, special releases, and beer industry news. I don't know if they're under the radar, or there's just too much going on to keep up anymore, or whether it's because they've only just recently begun shipping kegs up north to the Seattle area, but all I knew about them was their name and address. Clearly, though, in the year they've been here, they've already built up a nice following and they know what they're doing for sure. They're right downtown, near the capitol (I say that like I know Olympia geography...forgive me if this area isn't considered close to the capitol). Even very early on a sunny day when most of the world was probably headed outside to recreate, they were already building up a steady stream of customers through the door. You can park on the street on one end, or in a decent-sized lot on the other. The parking lot enters on the bar, and the street side brings you into a medium-sized cluster of restaurant seating. In between the two, there's a kitchen and a brewhouse. The brewhouse looks sizable, with nice shiny new equipment, but it wasn't in operation on the Sunday we visited. The kitchen was bustling (plenty of staff all flying around at the start of the lunch hour), though. We wandered down to the bar. There's a big high bar with tall stools, a long barback, some communal highboy tables, and then a scattering of smaller tables. They have nice coasters and glassware, and the tables even have the company logo burned into the wood at regular intervals. Lots of full-custom construction everywhere you look. These guys got some cash from somewhere before they opened this place, that's for sure. They haven't even been around a year yet and they already look as nice as 90+% of the breweries around. Fortunately, the nice touches extend far beyond the superficial. The beers were all startlingly good, and not messing around with a garden-variety lineup, either. We had an APA, IPA, saison, table bier, pils, and kellerbier. They all had great flavors with real clarity and balance. Only the pils showed some off flavors, with the pilsner yeast throwing some esters that smelled (and tasted) like swimming pool toys. This is an easy mistake to make in brewing a pils (and it's not even a mistake, so much as it is a yeast by-product), and I'm sure they'll tidy this beer into lovely shape in short order. We didn't try the food at all, but the burgers cooking definitely smelled great. There were tons of families and small groups of friends coming in for meals and beers. It seems like this place has already found its niche. The staff are super friendly and nice, cheerfully answering questions with information that was helpful far beyond just addressing the specific questions we were asking, telling us all about the local beer scene and interesting details about the brewery. I like everything about this place (most importantly, the beer), and will definitely be back. read more

I am in Olympia often with a daughter at Evergreen. I have been impressed with 3M after tasting their beers in cans when in Bend and at a bottle shop in Skagit. Although I was surprised to find the location tucked into an office building type of space. But when inside it feels cozy and community-minded. We Started with a beer flight and was impressed with the originality and experimentation! We had the wild salmon salad which was delish, the handmade veggie burger which surprised and delighted, and hubby had the chicken blt slider with heirloom tomatoes, fresh lettuce and tasty bacon. Was alright. Good friend of mine, knifemaker Mareko Maumasi suggested the place. Nice big wide open space. We shared a plate of the cheese curd beignets, and they were tasty, but there was a berry topping on them that was not very flavor forward, so it sort of moistened the beignet and that was unnecessary. We each had a sausage, mine without bun, and it was very tasty...although I would have preferred a stone ground or dijon mustard, served on the side, so I could season as desired, fries were great! Our server was not on her game, and we were ready to leave about 10 minutes before we were FINALLY handed our check. I'd go back when in Olympia....for a glass of cider, but in my estimation, Trinacria is STILL the restaurant to beat in Olympia for food! read more

Both NA beers on tap were delicious (a red and a pale ale), and there was also a good selection of NA cans to choose from. Multiple food trucks out front to choose from for food options. This is strictly a review for their catering services. Chef Frank and Olivia were THE BEST vendors we worked with for our wedding this past weekend. They were so accommodating and understanding for all the constant changes we had to do due to COVID. They're extremely friendly, so easygoing, and incredibly professional and helpful. The food they made for our wedding was all custom and all of our guests said it was the delicious. Nothing was over cooked, everything was seasoned and dressed perfectly. We had plenty leftover too and it was all still tasty the day(s) after. We were seriously so impressed and happy with their catering services. We will absolutely be recommending them to others!! We're even making a special trip down from Seattle to Three Magnets Brewing in Olympia to pay them a visit. read more

This brewery in underrated on Yelp. It seems many complain about the slow service, and I agree that this was a problem in the past. But Three Magnets has turned the corner and the service is now perfectly fine. I sincerely hope the low Yelp score doesn't deter you from giving this place a chance. Aside from service, the beer is quite good and the food is great. Full disclosure: the avo fries are bland, and I wouldn't order the shrimp & grits again. But the fries, burgers, chicken sliders, and salmon bowl are all excellent. Inside, I love the stained glass windows and cozy feel. And in warmer months, the patio is a great place for a post-work beer. Three Magnets is not a three-star brewery, and I hope the rating begins to more accurately reflect what it truly is. read more

We also ordered a large Lemonade but there was no large glasses, which it was ok cause we could gotten refills, except the waitress never came back to refill it. I liked the vibe and the wide variety of food and beers offered. It's also cool that part of the brewery is family friendly. This made it possible for us to stop in now that our group includes a baby. I love that Olympia businesses are so family friendly. On a Saturday night the vibe was still chill and nice for a spot to have a drink and catch up with friends. They also offer non alcoholic options like ginger soda and rootbeer which were definitely house made. I loved this since I don't drink if I'm driving. The rootbeer was crazy good. The best I've ever had. The only area I think they could pick it up a little was with the service. On the family friendly side we waited at the counter for quite awhile without getting any service. I ended up having to walk down to the other side to order my drink. Someone else had to order for my friend with the baby since she couldn't take the baby to the other side. So, awesome that they have a family friendly side, but it'd be even better if they better staffed that side. We definitely weren't the only people on that side either. I'd love to come back and try the beers that my friends really enjoyed. I'm definitely getting the rootbeer again too. read more

I don't know what the deal is with the poor and mediocre reviews - we went here recently and really enjoyed it. The area is a bit sketchy, but not terrible. Just something to be aware of. Once you get inside, the place is really cozy and casual. Several TVs play different sports matches, making it a nice place to have a few beers and watch a game. The beers we had were delicious - the Aroma of Tacoma was a notable standout and one of the best juicy ipas I've had in awhile. The big Tom's milkshake IPA was tasty too - not as bold as the Aroma, but still a satisfying drink. Can't speak much to the food as we only has their basic fries, which were decent at best. The brewery is operating under all COVID-19 regulations. They are doing a very good job with getting orders out for food and beer. The beer we had was okay and we didn't eat. I would recommend trying the brewery out, good outdoor seating, staff was friendly and very accommodating. I will being returning to the Brewery once they can seat people inside. The inside looks really cool and they have the rollup garage door to the outside which is always. I nice in the summer months. Note ordering is completely online which is good but if you want to try and get a few beers or a beer and then food you have to keep running your card. Not a big deal but for me was to much. Fun place for drinks and food. Happy hour allows families and babies. Get the chicken wings ! Dessert menu had choices with beer flavors but the tiramisu was kinda disappointing. It was too dense and didn't taste like a tiramisu at all I couldn't eat it after a couple of bites. I can't believe I'm only now writing this review as I've been here a while back and loved my time here. They've got a great selection of local beers and a bunch of mixed drinks to choose from, and the food is super delicious, although a little on the pricey side for what it is, though I'm not complaining because it was definitely well worth it. The staff is super friendly which, if you've read any of my other reviews, you know how important that is to me. Even now with the current restrictions going on throughout the state, there's outdoor seating and you can order online very easily, so no worries about close contact.
