Chicken Parmesan
Scott K.

Four stars - good I went here with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. There is a large parking lot nearby, so the restaurant is accessible. While we made reservations in advance, it was not that busy. There was a lot of seating, and they can accommodate larger parties. Our waitress was friendly, and we did not wait long for our food. The food was good. I ordered a side of pasta and salad to go with the chicken parmesan because it felt like the dish was lacking without anything else. Based on my experience ordering this dish at other restaurants, chicken parmesan is typically served with other sides. Despite my one gripe, I would recommend going here!

Nice Italian restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and good service. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the food was good. The only issue was that the steak was too salty for my taste, which affected the experience a little. Other than that, everything was enjoyable. I would still recommend this place and would come back again.

Love the authenticity of this place, with handmade pastas and breads. Always delicious!

It worked! Mercato called to me on this cold day. Outside, thirties. Inside, warm, cozy, delicious Italian food. They even make their pastas by hand. That's Italian! Prices are reasonable, oh, and the coffee comes with actual sugar cubes. Gotta love the attention to detail! I'll always come back to Mercato!

Came for brunch with a couple colleagues based on a recommendation. Brunch is on the weekends but they also offer their regular menu. Lots of drink choices, we decided to do an appetizer from the regular menu and also some brunch items. I ordered a vanilla latte to go with my omelette and the polenta. My food was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. We sat outside since it was a gorgeous day and it wasn't too busy plus we had a great view of the farmers market. Service was great! Our server was very attentive and anticipated our needs. I plan to be back with my family next!

We were in on a Tuesday for an early dinner (3:30pm), the only customers. Attentive service and good food. My guess in this place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights, as it's across the street from the Market.

Wow. This is my new favorite pizza spot. The Molte Carne was INCREDIBLE. The crust was thin and crispy and the seasoning was bursting in my mouth. Sounds goofy, but it's a very correct explanation. As I type this...I am still tasting those tiny pepperonis! They delightful server brought out some fresh focaccia bread doused in olive oil, basaltic vinegar and a touch of salt. Again...INCREDIBLE. The Pear and Gorgonzola salad was delicious but he blackberry vinaigrette stole the show on this dish. We sat on the patio which had ample umbrella coverage so that we weren't roasting in the

sausage radiatori with pesto

Enjoyed a fine meal at Mercato Ristorante, a quaint restaurant downtown Olympia, with my friend. We started with the calamari paired with a lemon aïoli; light, flavorful, and a perfect opener. For our mains, we had the salmon salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and apples (beautifully balanced and fresh), and we also shared the sausage radiatori pasta, which was evenly rich and delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, they seated us in a cozy center booth right in front of the chef's kitchen. It was such a treat watching the chefs work and seeing all the gorgeous dishes come out. Our waitress was amazing; attentive, friendly, and the timing of our meals was spot-on despite how packed the place was. We left happy, full, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

The food here at Mercato is superb! Moving from the San Francisco Bay Area 12 years ago, I have always missed the rich hearty Italian food. I think I may have found the place that makes my heart happy. Service is always a 10, Drinks are made to perfection I typically go for a manhattan or old fashion. My go to favorite is the antipasti salmon, calamari bites a must have, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Brb headed to grab my coat!

As a newcomer to Olympia, I made it a point to visit several local wine bars. I discovered that many of them mark up their wines by 100% to 200%. What sets Wines by the Valley apart is its unique approach: you purchase the bottle at its retail price and, if you'd like to enjoy it at the bar, simply pay a $10 corkage fee. It's an excellent value and a refreshing concept. I've enjoyed many wines here, and everyone I've tried has been excellent. Mark is not only an exceptionally talented winemaker, but also one of the most approachable and knowledgeable people you'll meet. I honestly haven't found a wine he's crafted that I didn't enjoy. What sets him apart is his ability to share his expertise in a way that is engaging, educational, and never intimidating. Whether you're a seasoned wine enthusiast or just beginning to explore wine, Mark takes the time to explain the flavors, aromas, and winemaking process with patience, enthusiasm, and authenticity. My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed being wine club members and always look forward to the events. The sense of community, the outstanding wines, and the personal touch Mark brings to every experience keep us coming back time and again. Cheers to Mark for creating not only exceptional wines, but also for helping to contribute to Olympia's wine culture in such a meaningful way. I was at the winery when this occurred and…read morewitnessed the full incident, and I urge you to not judge this winery or its owner based on her review. To be clear, I have been coming to Endless Sound since shortly after it opened and am a wine club member. I was at the winery with friends this evening when I watched this unfold. Melody came in with a man and small child and was told to take a seat. Mark (the owner) was single-handedly managing 20-25 people while preparing for the wine and cheesecake pairing. Shortly after sitting down, Melody got up and went to the counter where she proceeded to verbally accost Mark at a high enough volume where she could be heard throughout the space. She did not allow Mark the chance to respond to her, nor did she ever try to engage with him in a less confrontational manner. After sitting, she sat and waited. She never tried to flag him down. Instead, she went straight to a verbal altercation with a raised voice, in which she made an absolute scene and embarrassed herself. She immediately ran to Yelp and left this review. Frankly, she should be ashamed. To call Mark a racist is also deeply problematic to me. As someone who has been coming to this winery since shortly after it opened, I have never once seen Mark treat anyone with something less than absolute respect and kindness. Melody's accusation has malicious intent, and frankly, maybe she was having a bad day, but Mark is a phenomenal human and welcoming to all. For those of you looking for a real opinion, this is an incredible local spot with great wines, awesome ambiance, a ton of cool events, and a wonderful and knowledgeable winemaker. Pay Mark a visit, you won't be disappointed.

This is the most underrated winery I've ever come across in 10+ years…read more We've done wine tours in Napa, Sonoma, Portland, NY and PA (oh and bainsbridge island) and honestly you cannot find wine like this in the US. As a red wine lover who has been getting heart burn after one sip of most reds, this winery has exceeded my expectations. I never noticed that wine in Europe isn't just better it's also better for you because they don't add tannens or sulfates. It's a few hours after an only red wine tasting and I still don't have any heart burn. So our original plan was to go to the more commercial winery's after hiking Mt Rainier but the hike took longer than expected so we found a winery closer and we are so glad we did. Jolie and Clay are the sweetest people and Jolie told us so much about wine in general. One of my favorite tastings ever! Clay is a veteran who was stationed in Germany and learned to make wine from a local. All their wine is 18% and more fruity because they don't add all the extra stuff. They make a lot of unique stuff too (like wine from jalapeños and other fruits as well). Really not sure why more winery's don't do this. Anyway if you are on your way back to Seattle from Mount Rainier do not miss stopping by. We walked away with two cases (so affordable too) but they don't ship so you'll have to find a way to get it home (they were so thoughtful to get us a few boxes to help with shipping).

Third, they have an awesome outdoor area. Fourth, and this is worth stressing for businesses in Oregon and Washington, they are INDOOR dog friendly! Yes, they don't have an internal kitchen and this decision is precisely why your furry friend doesn't have to die in the cold or get wet in the rain. Only suggestion I really have is it would be great to see a few more options for beer brewed outside the PNW (of course, this is NW Beerwerks so I get it). The barstools are lovely and heavy. So sturdy and comfortable for being iron and wood. The upstairs is small and intimate, which gives the whole place a cozy, unique feel. Our waiter this time was a young gentleman who was incredibly friendly and did a great job! Three of us ordered Coors Lights in bottles, and he brought them out ice cold with a chilled glass to pour them into. When we ordered a second round, he let us know he had just put some more in the freezer, so it would be a few minutes. That little extra step made a difference...we'd much rather wait a few minutes for an ice-cold beer than have it brought out warm! I ordered the spaghetti with their house-made Bolognese sauce and added a meatball, and WOW. The sauce had the perfect combination of slight sweetness, a little spice from the sausage, and that tangy tomato flavor. So good! And I'm usually not a huge fan of restaurant meatballs because they can be tough or rubbery, but this one was soft, juicy, and packed with flavor. Sean got the lasagna and absolutely loved it! Our friends who invited us out ordered the steak and spaghetti Bolognese, and everyone was happy with their meals. The steak was cooked exactly how it was requested, and the quality of the food for the price was really good. Overall, Pellegrino's is just a great little place. Warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food, and a fun, intimate setting that feels a little different from your typical Italian restaurant.
