I want to start off by saying that i do like some things at this restaurant and have always been satisfied with the product. Usually we just order fettuccine, but we have tried the pizza as well, but today i decided to be bold and try something different. And since it was a warm day I went for one of the sandwiches instead of a hot dish. Instantly regretted my decision. A rather underwhelming 6in roll sparsely filled with salami and something they are calling prosciutto, both thinly sliced, and tomato, shredded provolone cheese(wierd) and big chunks of iceberg lettuce. The menu says it comes with soup or salad, however I was charged an additional $3.00 for a half a cup of minestrone soup. In all honesty the best part about this meal were the extra rolls I ordered. I paid $62 for my wife and my meal after tax and tip. It's very disappointing to know I could have bought a sub sandwich and a can of minestrone soup from the Safeway and not only gotten the same meal, but i would have saved myself almost $10 as well. read more

Three of us had different meals. I had the small classic casa Mia ravioli. The amount of food was amazing for a small portion. Being married to an Italian makes me very critical. The ravioli had a large amount of meat. That was positive. The small caesar salad was ok. The pasta was also ok. Another person had minestrone soup and the small ravioli. He liked the soup and the ravioli. The third person had the lasagna and liked it despite the cheese that she felt like she was fighting with. The positive side was the fact that there WAS a lot of cheese. All in all a positive experience. Not sure I will be back. read more

So I've been going to this location for over a decade. I reviewed about 7 years ago because it seemed like they weren't getting a ton of business. I only come to this location 2-3 times a year, but because I travel for work, I've been to others. I came back because of the service. Things have changed. It's made me really sad because the servers who were attentive are no longer there. They remembered your order, offered refills, they attended you with excellent service. The waiter I had isn't bad. Just seemed new. There's no more all you can eat pasta. It's all you can eat spaghetti only. Which is unfortunate because I'm not a huge fan of their red sauce. The salads have been going down for years but it was minute to me. The sauce has changed, the pasta is always stuck together now. The place gets busy now but I don't know if that's good or bad. Are these changes due to increased customer volume? Or are they saving money? Either way, I'm sad things have changed since my first review. The dining area is just loud with everyone talking and loud music trying to fight for attention. The GM is still very nice. He's been there forever. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but was happily surprised with the authenticity of the food. The sauce, bread and crust were made from scratch and so delicious! We ordered pizza and a variety of pastas with different sauces. It tasted just like the east coast, and we will definitely be back as regular customers. read more

What has happened to the Casa Mia we have loved all these years? Same lovely restaurant, (love the decor) same good service, but the recipes and food quality seem very different. Dramatically so. I ordered a minestrone soup and salad... their classic salad was what saved the day! Always fresh and delicious! However, the minestrone soup was not their usual. I wondered if it came from a can. . My husband ordered shrimp fettuccine (see photo), which lacked flavor and its usual creamy texture. It was just "meh". And, shockingly... this night they delivered a basket of store bought Hawaiian rolls instead of their warmed "home made " sourdough rolls. WHAT???? We did ask about the rolls and our waitress told us they ran out of their regular rolls and the manager had to run to the store and buy these- since their "downtown Oly venue was also out". None of this sounds like our beloved restaurant. We might try it one more time and hope this meal was the exception and not the new normal. read more

There are numerous locations, I went to the Martin Way location.. The food was fabulous!!! I had the Spinach/ Cheese Ravioli, added a salad with bread starter. My friend had the Butternut Squash Ravioli with minestrone soup & salad, just as amazing (i tried) & of course Spumoni ice cream, it's been forever but just as good as I remember. Our waitress was equally Fabulous, she was interactive, listened, helpful & everything you want & need ! Sorry I can't remember her name. Ambiance was homey Italian decor! It was a fall day, but the sun was out and the air was warm. The light came in low and gold, catching the tops of cars in the megachurch lot across the street. A paint store stood silent beside them. It wasn't Italy. It wasn't even trying. But inside Casa Mia, the smell of dough and roasted cheese said you were in the right place. The pizza is honest and well-made. Crust with a fine bottom, crisp like the edge of a well-worn shovel. The dough holds weight and heat, and the edge is thick and chewy -- the kind of crust you don't leave behind. I had the chicken with three cheeses. The cheeses melt into one another, full of sharp and mellow notes. Onions bring sweetness. A spritz of balsamic gives it breath. Every bite works. The server was kind in the way that doesn't come from rules. She cared. She knew the food and spoke like someone who wanted you to eat well, not just order fast. Her suggestions were not memorized. They were lived. You could tell she liked the food, and she wanted you to like it too. That kind of care matters. I had the Bock All Italiana. Not my kind of beer, but I understood it. Dark and strong. Thick on the tongue. You taste the malt first -- complex, with toasted grain and something like brown bread. The back end bites. Bitter. There are notes of dark fruits in there too. Sweet and heavy. It sits with you. Eight percent and it drinks like it. You don't come here to forget where you are. You come because even here -- surrounded by pavement and paint cans, with sunlight hanging like a last breath of summer -- someone is still making food that matters. Someone still believes that good dough, good cheese, good hands, and a little time can make something worth sitting still for. This place is SO GOOD! I grew up going to the Lakewood location with my family. While I am pregnant, my husband suggested take-out with the Lacey location. This has been the best food of my entire pregnancy. I made him call with dumb questions about shrimp and they never laughed or anything and when he went to pick up -- they gave us fresh bread right out of the oven! It was perfection! Staff was so so so kind. We ordered cannelloni with a side salad (add shrimp) and a half manicotti/half cannelloni with a side salad. Steak not up to par today. I have been tei everyone how great the steaks are there. I usually compliment the cook or chef. Not today. Medium steak was too rare in the middleand too salty. At the end of the day, this spot is exactly what you expect. With the low price point, you're not expecting an authentic or fancy Italian restaurant. I think this is like the Italian version of Red Robin. Not terrible, not amazing. Quite similar in quality to Olive Garden, actually. Great service though, I love the crew here. Casa Mia has been a favorite go to restaurant of mine for years and years. But, with the high prices they charge and just so so customer service, I can't say it is a favorite anymore. I know inflation is hitting everyone but their prices have risen DRAMATICALLY. A basic side salad is now $7.00 and they charge 1.25 for a roll that in any other place would come with your salad or dinner. 19.50 for a small pizza that feeds one person. 4.00 for a freaking glass of soda pop. I can't do it anymore. It was a great run. The food is good but not good enough to charge those prices and offer meh service. read more

It says it's an award winning pizza.. but I can't imagine what sort of award it would win, other than the Blandest, Soggiest Pizza award. I ordered the "Classic Casa Mia Pizza" which is a mushroom & salami pizza. I came out piping hot and yet so thin and soggy in the middle that you couldn't pick up a slice, even if you waited for it to cool down. $30 for THAT? I could get a better pizza from Walmart. I should have known that the food was subpar when the "garlic" bread came out with just a little toasting, barely any butter and no garlic. And was served with the weakest marinara dipping sauce as well as something called "Buttercream" which the waitress explained was an alfredo, but it just tasted like nothingness. My friend got the chicken parm. There was chicken at least. The breading was so unflavorful that I wondered if it had any. Served in that same weak marinara and accompanied separately with a small place of fettucini in the nothingness alfredo sauce. He had also ordered a bowl of minestrone soup as a starter but that came out WELL AFTER he had received his entree. I don't understand why they gatekept all the spice but overall the food was so weak and uninspiring that I wonder if the spice cabinet was under lock and key and no one could find the key. Terrible experience and would never recommend. While traveling on vacation we placed a $75 pick up order at the Lacey Casa Mia. They screwed up the order and overcharged us on multiple items. When I noticed the mistakes in the order and that they overcharged us, they acknowledged it was their error and promised to have the manager call me back to correct it. The manager never called despite my repeat calls. They never offered to correct the mistakes in the order and still overcharged us. No way to run a business. read more

STAY AWAY I could not be more sincere in what I have to say. It was the worst experience I have had in going to over 50 Italian restaurants. I found an incredible spot in Olympia for brick oven pizza, but I wanted to try something closer. The pizza is expensive and inedible, a pretty bad combination! The pizza had cheese that was so burned, you could not even call it pizza. The onion soup tasted worse then the pizza looked and was ice cold. We actually wanted to go to another Italian restaurant in Lacey, but - we hadn't made reservations and we were hungry. They seated us pretty quickly, although it was next to a table with three young pre-teen boys. Our server was amazing. Meagan was fantastic and so positive throughout it all. She kept our drinks filled and checked on us just enough to not hover or ask when our mouth was full. We tried the artichoke fundata, it was ok. It was lacking something. I added a little salt and all was ok. It was still lacking - but the garlic pizza type bread was delicious. My husband enjoyed the rolls, but it would be nice if serving pats of butter that they not destroy the bread by having them served cold. Meagan put them at the bottom of the bread basket to warm them up, but still - why? Also, an illusion of a nicer restaurant is to have the plain butter in a little container. Just a thought. We both got the lasagna and it was served piping hot. Took a bit before putting the molten lava in my mouth. It was good. I enjoyed it and all the flavors came together. My husband seemed pretty meh about his. "Olive Garden is better." I believe my eyes rolled pretty hard and painfully. At one point during our dinner we realized we were almost yelling at one another to be heard over the next table. The ceiling is pretty high and I think it just let that sound reverberate. I wish I'd had room for the apple dessert. It looked amazing. Meagan to the rescue, "Come back just for it, like before a movie. It's delicious! Don't forget to ask for me." I definitely will. French Onion Soup: Weak and unseasoned. Picture looks nice, but once you dig in pending let down will set in. It's like as if the chef forgot to add the beef bullion into the soup. Lasagna taquitos w/ bland alfredo sauce w/ fondu cheese known as Mannicotti: Lasagna taquitos w/ ricotta cheese filling, generic alfredo sauce taste topped with fondu cheese. The taste was "Meh." Now I know why the rating is so low. I didn't trust it.. I just had to see for myself. Service took forever, but was good when we had it. Ambiance was nice and casual, super small for a chain restaurant but it tricked me into thinking I would be getting faster service. Nope. Food. Oh boy. Let start with the good- the bread loaves are super yummy. Not sure why I kept seeing people leaving them on the table as they left. I had spaghetti- half with red "meat" sauce half with pesto. Notice the quotations around the word "meat"? That's because they SAY it's in there, ground up very fine. I think it's a complete lie, or they use a pound of meat for the whole entire batch of the night. WHERE'S THE BEEF?!?! Not in my dinner! I DID enjoy the taste of the Marinara. Pesto was lacking a ton of salt. Big fail for my food. Kids had meat sauce. Kept asking me where's the meat. My seven year old even asked the waitress if there was a mistake. Nope. It's just 'ground really thin'... TOO EXPENSIVE for a meal I could have made (better) for less than $3/ea. I won't be going back. Ps- bathrooms were dark but clean. Casa Mia is always a restaurant that we pass on the way to eating someplace else. We decided to try it and the food is good. We ordered the classic pizza, salad and hubs got the minestrone soup. It's a bit pricey but it's hard to find good Italian food or even pizza in Olympia. Real pizza means the kind you pick up on W. Broadway in NY, big, gooey slices of excellence. I won"t judge Olympia pizza by New York standards, but it had quality ingredients and was tasty. The salad was crisp and hubs liked his soup. The menu features mostly pizzas, although they offer classic fare like spaghetti. There was CHEWED GUM IN OUR pizza. This place has turned into an unhealthy and unsanitary safety hazard. My mom is 74 and the place is always cold. They wanted to seat us in the dining room but she wanted to sit by the fire. I asked the blonde girl (clearly a high school student) if we could sit by the fire and she immediately met me with attitude. Our server was a rude and an angry gay guy. Clearly, he had been phased or was taking over for someone and didn't want to wait on us. We order two pizzas and a salad. My pizza was bland and had watery sauce. Every time the male server came up to our table? He was short and abrupt. I have a bakery and have been in the service industry for YEARS! I would either fire an employee or would have been fired by my employer for how we were treated. I had a couple of slices of pizza and some of my salad that has brown lettuce. The miserable server brought us to go boxes. When we went to pay my mom handed the server a 20 after she paid the bill. . Which was a 30% tip. She felt bad for asking to sit by the fire. The server still gave us attitude. The chef was relatively friendly. However, non of this was the worst part of the evening. I took her home and she wanted to finish her pizza because the employees made her feel so terrible. When she took a bite? We discovered that there was MINT FLAVORED GUM IN one of her pizza slices. Clearly, it had been chewed and spit in her pizza. I'm disgusted and have reported Casa Mia to the health department. You are risking your health if you eat here! read more

This place absolutely exceeded our expectations of being awful. Let me explain. My girlfriend and I were looking for new places to eat in the Thurston county area and made a list. We saw casa Mia and naturally, looked at the pictures first. The pictures of their food - especially for their Lacey location - looked ghastly. The pictures looked so awful, between their sausage that looked like a turd, and their "casa Mia classic salad" which looked like soggy bagged Kroger salad topped with no name canned olives, we were genuinely confused by the overwhelmingly positive ratings on yelp and google. So, we decided to play a game. We sold a number of unwanted items on offer up and called it our "casa Mia fund". Because we are an adventurous urban couple who likes living on the edge, we thought risking the wellbeing of our bowel movements, but without having to pay for it with money we actually earned, would be amusing. We decided to "dress up" and treat our Saturday night at casa Mia as a special outing. Upon arrival, we had two glasses of white wine, nothing special. I ordered the Classic salad, the photo of which was particularly sad on google. Well, google never fails. The salad was wilted, clearly bagged, topped with generic brand mozzarella, canned olives, and watered down "Italian" dressing. I was able to eat it because I was extremely stoned. We shared a spaghetti with meatballs (16 bucks) and a pizza with Gorgonzola Parmesan sauce, arugula, prosciutto. The spaghetti had Prego or Ragu meat sauce and frozen bag meatballs. The pizza was soggy, the sauce was runny, and the arugula was drenched in balsamic vinegar, which looked like mud. The only portion that was edible was the crust. While I normally don't write many reviews, I felt compelled to for this depressing, overpriced Italian knock-off charade. With a tip, our tab, for two people who aren't your typical morbidly obese American, was a hundred bucks. It's offensive that this restaurant charges so much for such garbage. The jokes on us I suppose, for knowingly patronizing a restaurant that we reasonably expected to be complete shit. If you want "authentic" Italian food, you'd be better served going to Olive Garden. Went to this place 5 minutes before closing. I was hungry and turned to leave. Rae said, "Can we get you something to take with you?" These folks had put everything away and were mopping the floor, but they stopped to make me a meatball sandwich to go. While I waited, Rae engaged me in conversation while continuing to clean up. The sandwich was so delicious, and the menu inviting, I came back the next day to have a proper dinner. Caesar Salad followed by Cannelloni topped off with a dish of spumoni. Went with my Bestie for lunch, wine, and long conversation since it had been months since our last get-together. We had the Casa Mia house salad, Ricotta Appetizer, House Special Sandwich, with the featured merlot. I love the house salad, and it was fresh and delicious as ever, my favorite! Wine was smooth, the sandwich full of flavor and loaded with meat. The Ricotta Appetizer was a bit short on flavor, but the cheese was fresh and bubbly from the broiler. Best of all- our server, the absolutely delightful Meg. She took great care of us, making sure we had everything we wanted.
