It was cold the day went but, if you get warm weather, try for their outdoor patio. I ordered the lemon rosemary hummus (delish) with gluten free crackers and it came out with lots of sliced veggies, olives and pickled carrots and onions. A great value! My main course was king salmon and it was perfect. I ordered a lemonade and was disappointed that the tall skinny glass it was served in was full to the top with ice, so there was very little left to drink. My husband enjoyed the Cesar salad he ordered, tasted like a traditional Cesar. He tried the special beef cheeks and found them to be very fatty and gelatinous. He wouldn't recommend them. The staff were very friendly but I didn't feel that this was as amazing as other reviewers say. We came as a party of 5 and ordered a variety of different dishes. The food was definitely fresh and tasted good, but nothing to rave about in comparison to the price. When the weather is nice, their outdoor seating seems like a nice dining experience. We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday at Swing Wine Bar, and it was such a great night! The food, drinks, service, and view never disappoint. A huge shoutout to our server, Seth. We've had him the last three times we've come in for family celebrations, and he's seriously the best. Ordered wine flights, biscuits and gravy, croissant sandwich, and drinks. For 3 of us we spent about $200. Parking is interesting i guess Sunday mornings it is free at all other times it is metered and you walk up a 2 story ramp. There is a Parking lot that does not belong to the bar. What a treat! We started with the local red wine flight - such a great way to experience the region. Then came a crisp, bright Pinot Grigio that totally wowed us. I wasn't expecting much from the bacon-wrapped dates... but WOW - six perfectly roasted bites of sweet and savory heaven! We lucked out with live music - a jazzy guitarist in a bow tie setting the perfect mood. Left him an extra tip just for being awesome. Swing sits in a charming little old house perched on the hill, and the outdoor seating is a dream - the views of Capitol Lake are spectacular, especially at sunset when the golden light hits just right. East-west facing makes it even more magical. This is such a great "get to know each other again" spot - romantic, quiet, relaxed. Locals definitely know the value of this place and I can see why they might want to keep it a secret. Honestly, it wouldn't be out of place on Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard - it's that good. The filet came with a slightly crunchy edge but was perfectly cooked inside. Loved the meat & cheese board and the butter salad too. Free parking after 5 is a bonus. Swing Wine Bar Review: A Disappointing Anniversary Dinner My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and I chose Swing Wine Bar as a surprise because I wanted the evening to be special. Based on the restaurant's reputation and reviews, I expected a memorable dining experience and a wonderful way to celebrate together. Unfortunately, while the restaurant made a strong first impression, the experience steadily declined and ultimately left us disappointed. Upon arrival, we were seated at a great table with a beautiful view that offered a sense of privacy. At first, everything seemed promising. However, after introducing himself, our server appeared distant from the very beginning. When he asked what we would like to drink, everyone at the table requested water. From that point on, his demeanor seemed to change noticeably. He became more formal, less friendly, and responded to our questions about the menu with very brief answers. He brought our water and told us he would return to take our order. After waiting nearly twenty minutes without seeing him again, I eventually got up and looked for him myself, asking if he could come take our order. He followed me back to the table, and each of us ordered a different entrée. Throughout the interaction, he seemed detached and uninterested in creating a welcoming dining experience. When we first arrived, he had placed small plates and silverware on the table. Later, after we had ordered and he happened to be passing by, I asked whether bread or a salad was included with the meals. His response was simply, "No," before immediately turning around and walking away. It was an abrupt and somewhat dismissive interaction that further reinforced the impression that customer service was not a priority. About twenty minutes later, our food arrived. I ordered the New York steak. The steak itself was decent, and the gravy served with it was quite good. However, the broccoli was burned, and the meal consisted of little more than the steak, mashed potatoes, and two very small carrots. Overall, it felt like an expensive version of a basic roast beef dinner. To be fair, not every dish missed the mark. My son's pasta was enjoyable overall, although the shrimp was overcooked and there was very little sauce on the pasta. My wife's hamburger was well prepared, and my father-in-law's brisket was flavorful and tender. After we finished eating, our empty plates sat on the table for quite some time. Eventually, another employee noticed and came over to clear them. A short while later, our server returned, collected my plate, and said he would be back so we could order dessert. When he returned, he listed the dessert options, but none of them sounded particularly appealing to anyone at the table, so we declined. I then asked for the check. Ironically, this was the quickest service we received all evening. The check arrived almost immediately, and I paid it without delay. The final disappointment came with what should have been a thoughtful anniversary gesture. Our server dropped off a card that read, "Thank you for celebrating your anniversary with us." While the gesture itself was appreciated, the card was unsigned and presented without any personal touch. Rather than feeling like a sincere acknowledgment of our special occasion, it felt more like an obligation. What should have been a special surprise anniversary dinner for my wife ultimately became a frustrating experience. While some of the food was enjoyable, the inattentive service, lack of hospitality, and absence of any meaningful personal touch overshadowed the positive aspects of the evening. For a restaurant that presents itself as a destination for celebrations and special occasions, Swing Wine Bar fell well short of my expectations. Did we get a pretty view? nope, so I have to judge based on food and ambiace so here goes. I started with the bacon wrapped dates and it was good. Sis tried the heese fondue and it was delicious and had lots of bread so we'll be getting that again. Our friend tried the pizza and it was pizza. Another tried the bruschetta dn it was pretty good. I had the Kobe burger and it was nice and juicy so no complaints there. We all also tried the wine flights and i thought it would be the typical board with a handful of wine glasses ina row, but instead they served their flights in this winding metal apparatus, like we were at an afternoon tea of something. We enjoyed the evening hanging out and it was a fun experience, but I don't know. The food was good but not memorabl, and I'm looking for memorable. read more

On our last inside visit in mid-January, service was just sad. We let our server know that we had made a 5:30 reservation because we had a 7:30 play. Our server later let us know that she forgot to "pace" our order and that our appetizer would come out with our entrees, "if we still wanted it...". We kept the order and waited for an hour. Our appetizer arrived--no entrees. At 7:00, we asked about our entrees and were told, "they are in the window." 7:15, and our entrees arrived with to-go boxes? Squash entree was really undercooked. My risotto with grilled salmon was tasty: We ate quickly, left half of our meal behind, and raced to the play. A real miss on customer service this time, at Swing. read more

Instead of bold Italian flavors, it reminded me of the rice porridge my grandmother used to make: warm, gentle, and deeply nostalgic. A couple of mushrooms on top added a hint of sharpness, as if to remind you this was risotto, not breakfast at Grandma's. Small rusty-colored pieces of beet added a light mineral note and visual interest, almost like a deliberate design accent.We came for Italy, but left with nostalgia. I came on a Wednesday by myself and sat at the bar. It wasn't too busy. Staff were very friendly and prompt. Seemed like a place where the locals. Good selection of cocktails and wines. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but it is pretty small, so reservations are recommended. They have a delicious sounding menu, but we were full from dinner, so we just got the pepper and strawberry sorbet from a local company, and it was quite good. I would suggest smoke in your eyes for a little tableside fire show. I got the beef ragu and my partner got the shrimp and polenta. We had reservations fot our 49th wedding anniversary. My husband requested a specific table with a view. We were not seated at the requested table and instead seated in the bar. When my husband questioned this he was told that we would still have a view. After about 30 minutes we were asked if we wanted to change to the table we originally requested. My husband had the lamb which was good. I had the salmon cakes. They were so spicy I could only eay half a one. The menu did not state that the salmon cakes were spicy. When we mentioned this to the waiter- he said he was sorry. He did not offer to exchange for another meal or even ask me if I wanted something else. When we got the bill the salmon cakes were charged. When we said to the waiter that we shouldn't have to pay for it, we were told that he told the chef amd that he hadn't received any other complaints. I was appalled. I would have expected a substitution or at least a reduction on the bill. read more

Swing Wine Bar & Cafe offered us refuge after a long day. Perfectly situated, albeit hidden out of view, you might even miss it. But once you find it, this unassuming spot is truly a hidden gem. Time your stay with the setting sun, and keep in mind that your meal is guaranteed to be a romantic one (so be careful who you bring!). We had a flight of bubbly wine, carefully curated by the Swing Wine sommelier and presented in an artfully-geometric cascade with descriptions of each. We also shared the stuffed and roasted portobello mushroom with a spinach-herb pistou (an olive-oil based basil pesto originating in the Provence region of France that is perfectly balanced in flavor and contains no nuts or cheese). I had the artichoke & feta roasted chicken, which was a delectable arrangement of perfectly cooked chicken breast balanced on top of a bed of artichokes, potatoes, and a squash sauté. My partner had the Wild King Salmon, which in her words was "perfectly tender, melts in the mouth, and accompanied by deliciously creamy polenta and well-seasoned brussels." The other guests seemed to have confirmed the convivial ambiance, as everyone around us was smiling, laughing, and absorbed in conversation. We will surely be returning soon--but not too soon, lest we exhaust this titillating gem from our repertoire of romantic gathering spots--to sample the other mouth-watering offerings and enticing cocktails. Stopped by here for dinner with a large group on a rainy Tuesday in Olympia. They have an amazing list of cocktails and we ordered a bunch of them everything was delicious. Their wine selection is great and we tried a few reds and loved it all. The food here was also very nice. We ordered a lot of appetizers - stuffed mushroom, the flatbreads and the brisket. Came here for a little date night, we made reservations which I would recommend they start getting filled up pretty quickly at 4:30. We brought our own wine but had a cocktail with mezcal which was really good and I had the lamb which was okay, didn't have enough flavor for me and we had the duck which was great.
